Even though I just explained Silver’s entire backstory and how he's still the same character from 06 I need to note ESP Silver from Sonic Runners. In Sonic Speed Simulator he is heavily implied to be the Silver from 06 and is presented as a separate character.

Sonic Speed Simulator is non-canon but it is canon compliant. They are not allowed to use Infinite because Sega considers him to be dead yet ESP Silver with all indications that he’s separate from regular Silver is there. So just know that there is a non-0% chance that Silver from Sonic 06 and Silver from Sonic Rivals are in fact different characters.
