weather being cold: extremely bad, my hands hurt all the time, bedeviled by The Eternal Darkness. however i do get to wear my dolman-sleeves skull sweater i sewed last year and wear my hamlet storiarts gloves. so. we make do.

🍂 Favorite fall accessory? 🍁 My best friend's mom knit me a black cat/bat beanie, complete with little ears, that I absolutely love. Plus my Raven writing gloves from @storiarts

🍂 Favorite part of autumn? 🍁 Everything, all of it. The cool weather that encourages cuddles (that's right, I'm a cuddler), the delicious drinks, cinnamon in EVERYTHING, the scent of brown sugar and spices in the air, the changing leaves crisp and crunching underfoot; all of it!

I got my big birthday present from my mom today. It was a gift box from Storiarts. I'm already wearing the writing gloves, the scarf is amazing, I love the bookmark, the book pouch is perfect, and the stickers are fun.

👄•La Calunnia di Botticelli | The Calumny of Apelles Mentre ripasso l'Ellenismo, sbuca il greco Apelle, considerato da Plinio il più grande pittore di tutti i tempi, fonte di ispirazione di molti grandi artisti. Come lo fu per Botticelli nel dipinto La Calunnia. La Calunnia era una divinità minore dell’antica Grecia, malefica e menzognera, la sua figura viene portato nuovamente in auge nel ‘400 grazie a Leon Battista Alberti, che lo cita nel suo De Pictura. Il quadro narra l’accusa di un uomo, ingiustamente calunniato e condannato da un giudice corrotto. Partendo da dall’estrema destra del dipinto, Botticelli raffigura Re Mida come giudice della vicenda, con orecchie da asino e consigliato da due donne, ovvero Ignoranza e Sospetto. Di fronte al giudice Re Mida si desta Livore o Rancore, uomo vestito di stracci di color marrone scuro, con indosso un cappuccio che gli copre gran parte del viso. Al centro dell’opera appare Calunnia, che viene rappresentata seguendo la scelta originale di Apelle, ovvero come una donna di bell’aspetto, dai capelli dorati. Tenuta per la mano da Rancore, Calunnia si fa sistemare i lunghi capelli dalle personificazioni di Insidia e Frode, mentre trascina per i capelli il destinatario delle diffamazioni, un pover’uomo con le mani giunte richiedenti pietà, le cui magre membra sono coperte soltanto da un panno. Solo due figure si stagliano nella parte sinistra del quadro, che è decisamente meno affollata: l’assenza di bilanciamento nei due lati del quadro è voluta da Botticelli per creare una tensione compositiva che spinge l’osservatore ad una lettura dell’opera da destra verso sinistra.
