Day 14: Proud of Myself for…✯⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I really struggled with this prompt (hence being a day late!) because compared to many years, my "achievement" list is so much smaller than before. But that's actually the thing I'm most proud of.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As a mental health practitioner with lived experience of mental health difficulties, a lot of treatments and recommendations focus on doing things, taking action, listing out accomplishments and building motivation from our 'wins.'⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But my win for this year is that I put myself first.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I paused things in my business, didn't pressure myself to keep writing fiction, took time from my dayjob, opened up with friends, re-started therapy, and made changes to my environment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And despite that, I still made free resources for other seekers, connected with my community, learned new skills, thrived in a new dayjob, competed season one of my podcast, made some vlogs, read a few books, and co-hosted a world writeathon online session. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ All while slowing down and taking the pressure off myself to be an achievement machine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Where have you slowed down? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #decemberreflections2021 #photochallenge #photoadaychallenge #photochallengedecember #creativityeveryday #creativity #motivation #selfcare https://www.instagram.com/p/CXgSJf_gjy6/?utm_medium=tumblr
