#whenever there's a white supremacy issue going on and black ppl get pointed out as the problem#i just stop talking bc there's no way anyone in good faith is ignoring white ppl 😭

misandry is so not a real thing. any situation where women "have it easier" (which don't even really exist) are always because of culture the patriarchy created.
#an mra saying well male victims aren't believed like... yeah man... thank God women don't have to go through that...#fucking annoying#so over the rise of misogyny/“men's rights activism”#only situation i can really see a case is white women weaponizing their whiteness to target poc mainly black men#which is obviously bad and should be addressed and stopped#but even that it something that is a consequence of white supremacy and not feminism#♡

I wanted to come on here and say, thank you to those who are protesting. You are speaking for a bigger collective that do not wish to be harmed in any way and/or simply cannot. The compassion is felt through more people than you realize, it means more than words can describe and you are all honored. Thank you. We are all doing our best and what we can to the best of our ability, even those who are forced silent by threat. They cannot silence us all.
Humanity NEEDS to operate on a humanitarian level, how dare the government put monetary value on life; it is CRUEL and IMHUMANE. It should not be like this. It won't be like this for any longer. I promise.
There is something underlying, and there always has, you are not crazy. It is all enforced. It is on purpose.
Free Palestine. Free Gaza. Free Congo.
#free palestine#free gaza#free congo#human rights#humanitarianism#healthcare#housing#free speech#class war#eat the rich#mental health#can't even believe the humanitarian values tidbit need to be said#like do people not have basic empathy or sympathy#(dont answer that)#it's just sad that disabled people are also basically forced into poverty#yeah its rant time i dont care its tags#too poor to afford to be treated like a human being it seems#because wealthy people are much more important /sarcasm#way to go at enforcing the idea that poor people don't deserve healthcare and food!!!!!!! are you happy??? /sarcasm#the new american dream is to get the fuck out#dont get me started on how chruch with state (and the much alteredly fucked up text of the “bible”) is literally white supremacy-#-wrapped in a religous package so no one attacks it because “thats hate speech” so sad so sad#give the natives their land back#stop genocide#gentrification#-because apparently the “Christian God” are now WHITE MEN in politcal power#its so obvious#im just so upset#anywho yes im totally fine#rant over

Octokuber, day 3 - Secondary Rider
always at Mach speed~
Out of all the secondaries I could've picked, I ended up going with Gou because honestly? You don't just walk back an introductory episode like that. Oh, you're just gonna do back flips all over the main character, overshadow him in his own damn show, set up an entire stage with pyrotechnics for your first transformation, and you're just NOT gonna be my favorite character? I don't care how many stupid stunts he pulled in the later episodes, he had me at "Let's~ Henshin!"
#octokuber 2023#tokusatsu#kamen rider#kamen rider drive#kamen rider mach#gou shijima#i lied i do care- im kinda flip-flopping between him and chase as my favorite from drive#naaah i like them both. mac'n'cheese supremacy#the armor got me fucked up a lil bit ngl i didnt notice how many details were actually on the thing#the way i was just. stuck on the chest.#the reds and whites almost made me steal an entire color palette from an old impulse thing i did but i had to stop myself#speedsters honor and all that (is mach a speedster? not really but yknow)#i have his whole intro memorized btw. from the transformation pose all the way to the little sign-off finger gun#once accidentally smacked someone while doing it (i have an irl following me who can testify i just need her to see this first)

So, what do we do to be helpful when there is just too much bad for us to process, let alone do anything about? This is how I suggest you start.
1. Understand that that is literally the point. The ruling class wants you exhausted. They want you to see so much fucked up shit that you can't look past it anymore to see them.
2. Work on how you respond to discomfort. If someone is trying to teach you and your response to discomfort is to shut down and run away, there is no movement that you can be helpful in. You have to learn how to listen to people about their experiences and believe them. You just can't do that of you feel so uncomfortable at the mention of oppression that you stop listening. Your discomfort can't become more important than the suffering.
3. Pick one thing at a time and learn a lot about it. Learn how to be a collaborator with one marginalized group- I really suggest that you actually start by learning about disability access, but you can pick any marginalized community. Follow ten people who are marginalized in that way. Half of them are going to be just/primarily education, half of them are just people living their life. Follow both types of content because you have to see their happiness too. I know ten is going to feel like a lot, especially when you first start following. But ten is actually the minimum if you want to actually listen to the experiences of those people.
4. Tell others about the simple things you are doing and that they can also do to help. That might be donating to bail funds or voting for/against a bill.
5. Listen to marginalized voices about the things you aren't educated on yet. Believe them about their experiences. Take the action they ask you to. You don't have to understand to listen and care.
#Take on extra learning as you can#us politics#fuck israel#fuck the police and free palestine#us elections#I can explain more if I need to#this is just the start#please do not stop here#the goal is to keep learning#learn about the tools of white supremacy no matter where you start because oh boy buddy are a lot of these things are related

hierarchical thinking is dumb as shit
you were born exactly as worthy as anyone else and you'll die exactly as worthy as anyone else and all the inbetween stuff is gravy
no one is more or less of a worthy person based on their actions and experiences
you're alive? You matter and you have a right to continue living as best a life as you can just like anyone else

Really tired of people calling FG by the one name that makes zero sense in context, is alienating to a lot of people, and is actually the single figure Mojito has confirmed he's not. Are people just unaware of one of the more popular hairstyles/looks for guys with long(ish) brown(ish) hair and beards/beard stubble in (and out of) media?
People/characters listed left to right, starting with the top:
Row 1: Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes in Captain America: The Winter Soldier; François Arnaud as Cesare Borgia in The Borgias; David Wenham as Faramir in The Lord of the Rings; Oded Fehr as Ardeth Bay in The Mummy Returns; Jason Carter as Marcus Cole in Babylon 5
Row 2: Kevin Sorbo as Hercules in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys; Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace; "Foreign God" in ENNEAD Season 1, Episde 65; "Foreign God" in ENNEAD Season 2, Episode 10; Robin Atkin Downes; Hugh Jackman as Van Helsing in Van Helsing
Row 3: Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars; Hades in Blood of Zeus, James Watson as Duncan Idaho in Dune (2000); Gale in Baldur's Gate 3; Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings
Row 4: Mark Ryder as Cesare Borgia in Borgia; Jason Momoa; Nigel Terry as King Arthur in Excalibur; Christian Kane as Eliot Spencer in Leverage; Jared Padalecki
Like I could keep adding people and characters to this because this style is so damn common (I was honestly tempted to make a second collage, bare minimum). But I'd be here forever. There are a number of other fan names for the unnamed foreign god, including Foreign God, FG, Beard, Mustache, or you could go with what Seth calls him, "Furball".
#ennead#foreign god ennead#fg ennead#there are so many guys who have this style#trying to remember them all is impossible#a lot more with blonde and red hair as well#like if you watch movies or shows set in ancient Greece or Rome in particular#and shows set in Europe and the US in the 1700s-1800s#you see this everywhere#and it's popular for singers too#apologies for people confused about this showing up in their tags#like I don't get why it's meant to be funny as a joke name#is the joke “lol I don't know what men look like”?#why do people have to involve xtianity even in places where it's not involved#it's worse when people actually think it's a potential identity for FG#when no that makes zero sense for FG as a character and the person people think he is#or the story on the whole#and again Mojito confirmed he's not Jesus#like obviously people can do whatever they want#I just find this whole phenomenon really annoying#I remember when bg3 came out and people were spamming the tags with Gale saying he looked like FG#it's not a rare look#yes I am aware people have gotten McGregor's Obi-Wan confused with Jesus before#and yes I am aware that Cesare is at least theorized to be an inspiration for modern white Jesus looks#doesn't change the fact the look is common#mostly it just means people keep doing this and it's always been dumb#fallfthoughts#maybe stop perpetuating xtian supremacy so casually#also if you literally wander around multiple countries around the Mediterranean many men look like this#years ago I was in one city off the coast and literally every direction I looked was at least 1-3 men who looked like this

been seeing. a lot of posts lately that r more than toeing the line between being anti-Israel gov & downright antisemitic 😷 but not sure what to do. like almost every one of these posts ive seen straight up has comments of support from very unsavory and disgusting white supremacists. like the amount of antisemitic memes ive seen shared on these posts and very alarming comments is making me feel a bit ill lol
#gab gabs#i understand a lot of the posts are well meaning and trying to rally support for palestine but like#you do not have to condemn every jewish person ever to do this....#or worse straight up imply they deserve to be punished for what the military and gov of Israel is doing.#Idk what im really saying other than to be more mindful when ur . auh. Blogging. and be careful to not fall prey to weirdo white supremacis#or anti semitic conspiracies#its worthwhile to actually read and understand Jewish perspectives on this too bc a lot of jewish people now feel very ostracized from#leftist spaces for this reason and more.#on the other hand of course i being a goy usamerican dont want to steer the conversation away from the very real horrific crimes being#committed by the state of Israel. but making vaguely(?) antisemitic posts on tumblr is going to do anything for Palestinian liberation#just makes you look like a piece of shit#i do also understand some of the posts ive seen are just vent posts which is like fine but . mahbe stop reblogging them uncritically

how can I keep being expected to work and be productive when every day there’s a new horror. I can’t stop thinking about aaron bushnell’s sacrifice, his dying words, about northern Gaza being starved by Israel, about them bombing Rafah. Today I saw a photo of a 17-year-old Palestinian girl who’d starved to death; her cheeks sunken, skin sallow, eyes staring at nothing, limp in her family’s arms. I saw a video of a premature baby, born at 26 weeks old, who probably won’t get the same chance at life as I did, simply because of the genocidal cruelty of Israel. Who will likely die of starvation or bombing unless Israel is forced to stop this genocidal slaughter. How am I supposed to take all this in and keep working at my desk job like my heart isn’t burning, like my mind isn’t scattered in a million different directions? But if I don’t work, I won’t be able to pay for my rent, or healthcare, or overpriced pesticide-riddled food, and I’ll fall through the cracks of this capitalistic bloodthirsty death cult. Something has to give. Please, god, something has to give.
#we all deserve to live in a world where Palestine is free and Palestinian premies get to grow up strong and healthy#a world with clean food and water and shelter and healthcare free for all of us#we deserve a world free of capitalism and white supremacy#and of course I’m chipping away at these systems any chance I get#but it doesn’t feel like enough. and it’s not happening fast enough.#idk man. and I need to stop writing this because I have to try to work for at least another hour idk#I was planning to work for 8 hours today but realistically I’ve only been able to focus enough to do like 3-4 hrs worth. FUCK#personal#antiwork

re: cocoposting, you might be like, "horse, isn't foucault's 'care of the self' about classical attitudes around (homo)sexuality?" and you're right, it's not about america at all, except i've done a LOT of early american history shit (happens when you write a diss chapter on 'hamilton') and foucault weirdly clarified for me how 18th c anglos understood sex/relationships as this extension of their understanding of what "republics" signified and the rights of the (State-sanctioned/legible) Human
#there's also some sylvia wynter doing a lot of heavy lifting for me in here#but the point is that...it's less about the REALITY of the ancient world and more about how a predominantly protestant english-speaking#''world'' UNDERSTOOD those texts and translations and what they fixed them to mean in relation to OTHER ancient texts#like the christian bible circa kjv#which is all to say at some point ''corinthian'' stops signifying the ancient city of corinth and whatever cultural practices he might#reflect and instead OUR perception of ''corinth'' which is heavily based on english translations of the pauline epistles#and classical texts that have gone through SEVERAL rounds of translation and debate#so that at the end of the day plato is saying what you want him to say#i.e. justification for colonial separatism and u.s. white supremacy#posts that are like. for alf.
