Cave-in: A comic starring Darkrai, Dusknoir, and an unconscious Twig on an expedition gone wrong.
(Note that this takes place after the ending of the fanfic, and people have settled into having Darkrai in their lives... for the most part. Dusknoir still hates his guts and doesn't trust him whatsoever.)

the seperation of lesbians and gay men is a travesty. "why are there so many historic gay bars and only like a handful of lesbian bars in the whole country" why are being gay and lesbian not the same thing in this context. you dont need to fuck everyone at the bar and it is a problem that needs to be addressed if these spaces arent mutually hospitable. and this applies to most gay/lesbian spaces imo
#its just wrong to assume gay spaces arent for women and if any gay men are reinforcing that it needs to be stopped lol#but a lot of it seems like very gender-biased willing exclusion bc they dont wanna associate with men#which um. grow up to you too#gender segregation is just evil period#other than intimate circumstances if you refuse to hang around people you perceive as x gender#its a problem you need to work on it's not just a right you've earned#now yes of course there are able to be specific cases of bars that are more explicitly lesbian or gay#but assuming if a bar is a ''gay bar'' its just for gay men is a fallacy... do you even go to these places?#''buh buh buh if theres a drag show drag is insulting to women cis and trans'' its not. address your revulsion#i know i come across harsh toned im actually more being flabbergasted that weve got to this point rather than saying hey you in particular#its just so strange to have grew up in the gay climate i did where the only lesbian flag was just lipstick lesbian and the girls didnt like#if you assumed every lesbian fell under it and to just use rainbow#and now people act like gay and lesbian arent synonyms because of gender seperatism. which disproportionally hurts members of the lgbt#community because they are more likely to be gnc lol#also a lot of individual opinions you just see the terf hand guiding.#and i HATE THE TOOTHPASTE FLAG!!#no pink flag for girls so blue flag for boys get the fuck out of my face#i dont want to superficially share my experiences with gay men i need community with gay PEOPLE

At least the guy with the knife behind his back might not hurt me. There will always be a knife, they will always be able to hurt me, and I'm terrified, but this guy has a proven record of allyship with people like me, so I'm more inclined to believe him than the guy who constantly talks about how much he wants to stab me if given the knife.
”might not hurt me”
You know how many people Biden is actively hurting in office, right? Does it just only matter if he directly hurts you, or?
Are we really going to play “well SURE he ALSO commits violent genocide, but he might not eat MY face so who cares” game?

Hi there why has no one pointed out that KOSA is also an attack on critical race theory??? On the foundation that learning about American slavery and racism can cause depression?? why is no one talking about this part!!! that is so scary!!! These white supremacists are trying to create a new generation of children who will be brainwashed by their own backwater beliefs. That is something to be deeply scared of. Are you telling me EVERY website that teaches about HISTORICAL FACT, like I dont know the Smithsonian, National Geographic WIKIPEDIA, will have to have a child lock??? Dear god.

angry at the oscars barbie nominations but in an annoyinger way (i think nominating ryan reynolds makes sense but the best picture and best supporting actress noms are ridiculous)
#sorry but the more i think about it the more i really dislike the movie#ken was funny! he was silly and campy! i really did not care for the rest of the movie!#i just think the more you examine its take on feminism the more it falls apart!#it's inherently about a product! it's inherently personifying a product and making you feel sympathy for and relate to a product!#they are generating hype and engendering sympathy for something they are trying to sell you!#regurgitating second wave feminism without nuance doesn't make it groundbreaking it makes it like. fine i guess?#verilybitchie has a great video that put a lot of my feelings about it into words#idk it did not resonate with me at all and also made me kind of annoyed with how it contributed to the ongoing trend#of gendering things that aren't gendered and focusing on a segregation of gendered perspectives#tired of i'm just a girl! tired of girl dinner! tired of men are always thinking about the roman empire!#sure there are experiences more common to and relevant to women but i get so uncomfy with those kinds of generalizations#even when they're just jokes because after they get repeated enough they stop sounding like ones#just like. when you try to examine it in terms of any kind of intersectionality it falls apart#and i know it's not that serious but like come on. they literally do not once touch on any kind of intersectionality.#you can't be like 'it's a groundbreaking feminist movie!' because they said 'women struggle with misogyny' in 2023#like i know it's barbie but i don't understand why there's this impulse to say that that's something that's never been said before#just because the president is black doesn't mean you've acknowledged like. racism at all.#just because you have two fat barbies with like four lines doesn't mean you've said anything meaningful about body image#and when you take an openly lesbian actress and give her short hair and make her strange and then have all the other characters#essentially socially exile her and still think she's weird after the resolution!!!#i would say that's like!! implicitly a pretty weird way to write gay people!#i don't want to rain on anyone's parade! it's silly! it's not that serious! i just also think it's not that good!#it's fine! it's fun! but i DO think ken is the best part of the barbie movie and for that i apologize

ok sorry but the fact that fandom keeps having ciel hang out with the weston boys when he canonically makes friends with people of different race, gender, and class than his is... like yana did all this work for what. most of his friends are girls!!
he had more of an emotional attachment to arthur for God's sake! who got a mini chapter of him trying reason with ciel not to give up on himself! not (insert weston character here)!
it's actually wild how little his ties to weston matter. he made no genuine connections, no emotional attachments to that place. literally threw away letters from his roommate and their pictures got burned. the narrative and ciel keep saying how insignificant weston is! ciel gets no trauma, no big revelations, nothing! when all's said and done hes like glad that sh#t is over!
and no I'm not counting soma as a part of the weston clique. it dont matter!! not when yall keep writing him subservient to a bunch of white boys!! sheep that killed a kid over some stupid rules!
not my Soma! not my boy! put credit on his moral backbone, he wanted to lead ciel into the light! ciel wanted to protect him from harm! Soma wanted to become his Agni!! they are going through the most angsty breakup rn, they are not on his level! get it together!!!

WTF, what is happening to the world???
Don't like using my Tumblr for other things than fun and fandoms that I use for escapism of the real world. But, WTF, what is happening to the world???
I can't understand all this “free speech” nonsense/ absurdity, because for me it's very simple: "freedom of expression of opinion/ free speech" is one thing, but slander, defamation, hate speech, attacks on minorities, etc, IS NOT "freedom of opinion/ speech", it is verbal violence (which, if disseminated, turns into other types of violence).
It's not that these people don't know the difference between “freely expressing my opinion” and “violent and hate speech”, they PRETEND not to know the difference in an attempt to legitimize their "hate speech", claiming that it is nothing more than “free speech ”. And the more people believe this, more lost we'll be as a society.
And, another thing, it's very easy to perceive prejudice, but in case you are in doubt: when someone who enjoys rights, but wants another group of people not to enjoy the same right, segregates and restricts them, that is prejudice. Then:
If you have the right to come and go, and I don't. This is segregation, and it is prejudice.
If you are white and you can freely access a building, but I, who am black, have to use the employee service elevator. This is racial prejudice, it is racism.
If you can go into an expensive store, or restaurant. And I'm blocked or watched closely by security, just because of the way I dress and because I look poor, that's prejudice. It's class elitism.
If you are a man, and can drive or play a sport, and I am a woman and I am restricted from enjoying this same right because I am a woman. This is prejudice. It's misogyny. It's sexism.
If you are heterosexual, and you can go out holding hands with your boyfriend/girlfriend, you can kiss them and show affection, but you think that because I am from the LGBTQIA+ community I cannot do the same, I cannot enjoy the same right as you, then you are being prejudiced. This is homophobia.
If you have the freedom to believe in and practice cult in a religion, but believe that others should not have the same right, just because their religion is different from yours. This is prejudice. It's religious intolerance.
If you think that someone different from you, that people with disabilities/PwD, if you think they are not capable or are inferior to you, that is prejudice, that is ableism.
I can't believe that in the 21st century, someone would still say that won't assist someone who is LGBTQIA+ and justify that “I have that right!”. What? Once you justify it this way, and the Court agrees with it, becomes possible to segregate ANY person. Do not doubt then that tomorrow black people will not be served either, because “I have that right”. Or “I'll not provide service to you in my store because I do not agree with your religion, your way of thinking, or your way of living, I have that right”.
And now this fake discourse of"free speech", this madness is spreading to other places.
No, you do not have the right to prune the rights of others!
So, repeat with me: when you want to enjoy rights, but you don't want others to enjoy the same rights as you, that IS PREJUDICE AND SEGREGATION. It is not freedom of speech, not freedom of opinion.
If rights are equal for everyone, then everyone MUST be able to enjoy them, regardless of who they are, whether you like it or not. If we leave room for some to enjoy something and others not, that will not be a free society based on equality and freedom.
No. These people are not defending "freedom of speech". They are defending segregation. They are defending slander. Defending the right to defamation. Defending the right to lie. Right to Fake News.

Criminal Markers and how they were so seamlessly integrated in NDC/Satellite culture with little fuss or blowback
I'm sure it all started with a "good idea."
(It wasn't good, it was never good, but politicians are pros at making remarkably terrible ideas seem good.)
The idea of being able to recognize a dangerous criminal on sight would seem to be desirable if taken only at face value. Consider: You're taking your kid to school and you see someone with the mark identifying them as an abuser within a mile of said school? Well, you don't want that person hanging around and potentially hurting kids, right? So you call the cops. All well and good, you may have just saved some kids some trauma. Or maybe you're driving around looking for a parking spot and see someone hanging around an open space with a grand theft auto mark? Well, you're not going to park there now and risk your car being gone when you get back. The person walking towards you on the street has the mark of a murderer? Give them a wide berth or cross the street so you won't be the next victim!
At face value, it seems great, right? So the politicians peddling it keep it that way, distract from anyone trying to look to too deep, get their bill passed, everyone is happy.
But the problem is that "good ideas" are very slippery slopes.
They start out only marking the "big offenders": murderers, sex offenders, "those" kinds of people. But prosecutors and judges alike slowly begin to push the bill. Murderers and sex offenders...and major theft. And they push a little more. Murderers and sex offenders and major theft...and illegal narcotic sales.
They do it slowly, one crime at a time, always with "good" reason -- so slowly that no one questions it because if x is punished this way, why not y? And the people who never questioned it in the first place don't stop to question it now either because why would they when it makes perfectly logical sense?
And they keep pushing, one crime at a time, right down the line.
And then, 15 years later, they find themselves marking an 11-year-old for shoplifting a candy bar. Because theft is theft, and it doesn't matter that this is a literal child or that the purchase price is barely anything at all. There is no line anymore of what "deserves" to be marked for because time has whittled it away and now this child has a past they will never be able to outrun because its literally written on their face.
It didn't start like this. It wasn't supposed to go this far. But it did anyway, and now there's no one to question the morality of it because everyone has been entirely (achingly slowly) desensitized to a process that is entirely dehumanizing and never should have been put into practice in the first place.
It doesn't matter that people can change.
It doesn't matter that sometimes a mistake is made.
And there's no one left to care to change it.

Seeing that post about how--unlike us emos--kids these days can't draw gory art without getting in trouble.
Experiencing a very strong case of "a post on something specific is getting more notes than OP intended, thereby opening it up to great scrutiny and social commentary."
Because, I mean, they did also pathologize and criminalize children in the past. That was a pretty significant thing that happened. Like, I understand where OP is coming from about true crime increasing distrust within communities, but they very much did pathologize and criminalize children before now.
Like, my middle school didn't allow us to wear the color red, because gangs. After 9/11, a sixth grader wore an I Heart NY shirt, and got in trouble for the red heart.
For a while, also because gangs, students weren't allowed to gather in single race groups of four or more. In other words, 4+ students of the same race could not hang out in the schoolyard without recruiting a student of another race to join them. This was school policy and it was enforced.
Middle and high schools in my area didn't have lockers, because that's where we would store our guns, I guess.
We were not allowed to gather outside the shopping center across from my school. I once sat on a bench to drink my Starbucks, and a vice principal made me walk back to campus.
Our behavior, writing, and computer lab history were reported to the administration. We were taken out of class for counseling, group therapy for anger management and self-esteem, and meetings with the principal.
Any action or youthful curiosity could be construed as delinquency, conspiracy, or pathology.
They Dear Officer Krupke'd us.
Because the student body was largely poor, BIPOC, first or second generation, assumptions were made and responses were harsher.
And, yeah, there were mentally ill criminals among us (including yours truly), but we deserved better than that.
Whatever nostalgia OP has for a relatively carefree youth, I cannot relate.
