is it an unpopular opinion to get super frustrated when ppl say that “yeah bob isn’t innocent, but johnny isn’t either!!! johnny killed a kid!!!” yeah he did brother OUT OF SELF DEFENSE!!!!! we both know damn well if johnny hadn’t done something that pony (and possibly also johnny to get rid of all the evidence/witnesses!!!) WOULD have died, and that the socs would’ve somehow still twisted it onto pony and johnny that they deserved it, or would’ve easily just said they weren’t even there in the first place!!! nobody would’ve known!! the cops would say it could’ve been a suicide/s!!! like the justice system does not EXIST for kids like them!!! in terms of bobs death, johnny IS innocent. obstruction of justice is a whole other thing which yeah he probably shouldn’t have done but might i remind you this is also a traumatized child who’s brain has likely developed unlike most kids his age due to continuous abuse and trauma, even unlike most of his closest greaser peers, and he’s highly likely mentally not even able to make as sound of decisions in the same way most people his age could/should be able to, hence the stabbing in the first place, hence obstructing justice bc that’s what he’s been told to do and surely dally wouldn’t steer him wrong. nobody should’ve died, but there’s just no shot a drunk dude possibly killing/trying to kill a kid several years younger than him for no reason besides he was “having fun” doing it in any universe is at ALL equal to johnny killing a violent abuser in self defense 🫡
might i also add that being charged with manslaughter and not being absolved in self defense could’ve very easily been a reflection of biased justice systems, especially if ur talking musical johnny who’s canonically black & indigenous, two of the most disproportionately and unjustly incarcerated communities of ppl in north america. these systems are literally purposely built against kids who look like johnny, nevermindddd against people in his socioeconomic bracket who live in as poor of conditions as he does. even if he HAD stayed and turned himself in immediately, darrel and soda are told pony (and subsequently johnny) “could get murder one” in the show. like that is quite literally just not how that works, but literally what is a poor kid gonna do against a biased, possibly racist judge? like that’s the justice system for u today!!! nevermind how much worse it’d be 60 years ago!!!!

I've seen someone say the interaction where Sean and Karen go bang in the tent is dependent on honor, and low honor is the small dick/bad sex scenerio while high honor is when they cry together and idk how true that is but the idea of Sean's dick size/bedroom performance being dependent on Arthur's honor level is incredibly funny to me

ford: would you be interested in a dd&md campaign where nothing bad happens whatsoever
stan: what’s the fun in that?
ford: the escape from our chronic depression
stan: …can i raid a dragon’s hoard or somethin
ford: you can. you can even mock the dragon so hard it dies
stan: holy shit yeah i’m in
#one aspect of gravity falls ae’m iffy about: the way d&d is treated. rant incoming#it’s all math and rules and graphs and like ae get the whole point is that they shouldn’t mock dipper just for loving something they don’t#Mbut also like???#yeah no shit they’re not interested. you didn’t show them ANY of the aspects they might actually be into#where’s the crafting? the creating of characters? the worldbuilding? the harassing innocent npcs?#idk maybe ae’m inexperienced but ae have never seen a d&d campaign that uses fuckin graphs#because that’s NOT THE APPEAL ALEX.#the appeal is the escapism. it’s the being able to dive into a fantastical world#it’s the getting to defeat enemies. it’s the being the underdog. it’s the earning a victory. it is the friends we made along the way#and like?? fuck man. ae get the part of the fandom that’s like ‘i don’t get why people write fics making stan and mabel play dd&md’#‘they made it clear they don’t like it’#but damn it have you ever seen a fic like that that’s about the graphs and math and giant rule book?#hell most fics we’ve seen like that use homebrewed campaigns. as in ‘FUCK THE RULE BOOK WE DO THIS OUR WAY’#ae just. ae’m starting to understand why people don’t like that episode#what was the point? to not mock dipper anymore? we’ve had like three episodes about that already#they missed an opportunity to make an episode focused in bonding#an episode that could have explored ford and stan’s strained relationship more#because stan and mabel would have loved the creative aspects of d&d so much#mabel loves crafts! she would have had so much putting together little figurines or a set!#and stan- can you imagine how much fun he would have had with the npcs?#and with the creation of characters! he fuckin loves storytelling!!#ae’m. ae’m sad now. they had an opportunity to bring everyone together through a game that has something for each of them to love#and instead we got ‘we should stop bullying dipper for the third time’ and ‘you can tell they don’t like each other-#-because stan still won’t say ford’s name’#can you imagine if instead of ‘stan throws a hissy fit and nearly gets ford and dipper killed’ we got ‘ford and stan get REALLY into the ga#and their characters and situations start to get kind of personal’?#like! imagine if they had all gotten stuck in the game and the stans had to work together to save everyone#but they still have unresolved issues that they start to work through at the end and thus the episode ends with a hopeful note#like. they share a moment like in the finale when ford and stan smile at each other after the bus leaves#don’t tell us they got a ‘starting to communicate and resolve issues’ moment in the finale because that shit was rushed as hell

what kills me is how makoto is just. so nice. like never once does he consider killing anyone. he feels guilt and remorse for each of his dead classmates and internalizes them. he tries to save everyone, even junko. he goes against everything to give the ultimate despairs a second chance. you poor guy this is the worst kind of life to lead in this kind of world and yet you're doing it with your head held high. and now you don't even have the choice to stop

Hey Stormlight fans why are we so quick to forgive Dalinar for killing innocents- including his own wife, but when it comes to Elhokar, whose worst crimes were just being immature and incompetent- both of which come from not being ready to inherit the throne- he's unforgiveable?
Do yall actually think Elhokar is irredeemable because he let Moash's grandparents die?? If so then yall should really take a good long look at Dalinar's arc and compare it to where Elhokar is when he's swearing the First Ideal, because Dalinar at his lowest on the whole was far worse than Elhokar ever was

Assassin Identified
Tumblr media
Major Nikolai Ashrouv has been identified as the commanding officer responsible for the massacre of aid workers in Rafah.
According to reports, Ashrouv issued the initial order to open fire on the aid workers, a chaotic and indiscriminate 3.5-minute artillery assault.
The massacre resulted in the deaths of at least 15 Palestinian aid workers—including paramedics, UN personnel, and rescue staff—as well as at least 10 civilians, among them five children and one woman.

i fear that in a tv show about cannibalism someone kissing a dead corpse, symbolising them letting go of their obsessive connection with the first person they felt respected and loved by, is not the thing you should be getting hung up over 💀

do you run your d&d game from a prewritten book? or did you write your own plot? i want to get in to GMing but i'm not sure where to start. i also want to know about the story of your game!
My very first campaign was a heavily modified version of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist! Though in reality I used it more for a guide on the city's lore rather than the plot of the campaign itself (as I think it's...bad. I think lots of WotC's stuff is bad. I only have experience with 5e's books though. RIP that I really like the settings and their potential a lot)
I basically told my players what I was running and let them make PCs that would have interesting ties to the city. Then I modified the main campaign to revolve more around their backstories. I don't think you CAN'T do a plot where the PCs are completely divorced from the storyline, I just happen to like making them integral to it! I think it helps avoid the dreaded instance where the story becomes a "why didn't the DM just write a book?" situation. If I write it with the players in mind at the center of it, it means they always take precedence.
Seven Asunder / Waterdeep 2.0 is a plot I wrote myself now that I'm a little more confident with DMing and comfortable with my group! It revolves around the seven apprentices of Halaster Blackcloak and their bloody history. After a century+ of their whereabouts being unknown, they start becoming a problem once again and it's up to the PCs to put a stop to whatever they're planning. They're the major antagonists of the game and since their influence reached across the planes (and even the multiverse), it's not impossible to imagine they could have ties to the PCs backstories. I came up with it just because I love evil wizard bullshit and I also love "groups" of villains, as well as The Seven/Halaster/Undermountain being some of my favorite lore in the FR setting!
If you're writing your own plot for the first time and it's in an established setting, I think it'd be smart to gauge what your players are interested in as well as figure out what parts of that universe you're most drawn to and go from there!

Oh, Charles. What has become of you? Where is my best friend? Odds fish, Edwin. You're looking at him. No. No what I see before me is a façade. A shell of the boy I once knew. This is some absurd role you're playing. I don't know why, but I'm sure it is. Perhaps to keep the world at a distance. And now you're shutting me out as well. You once promised me that I shall come to know the person behind the mask, in time. But I know him less now than I did then. Well. Perhaps there's no more to know. I can't believe that. I refuse to believe it.
