Here’s the thing: If your takeaway from the ending of The Full Moon is that ‘Blitzo fucked up’, then you are correct. And if your takeaway is that ‘Stolas fucked up’, then you are equally correct.

The key takeaway from the Stolitz breakup and what makes it such a PERFECTLY executed dramatic moment is that Blitzo and Stolas BOTH royally fucked it up.

Blitzo refused to recognize that Stolas could possibly genuinely love him while Stolas shut Blitzo out. Stolas hit Blitzo’s trauma buttons just as hard as Blitzo hit Stolas’s PTSD triggers.

In this scene, they are both ‘aggressor’ AND ‘victim’ in EQUAL measure.

And it is what makes this scene so god-damn PERFECT.

Because it illustrates WHY this relationship between Blitzo and Stolas simply CANNOT work as it is now. Why ANY relationship between these two cannot work as they are now.

There was no miscommunication. No external factors or complications that nudged either of them one way or another. Just their respective issues, baggage and trauma invariably destroying their relationship. This scene was simply the logical, inevitable endpoint of this relationship.

As Blitzo and Stolas currently are as people, this was ALWAYS going to happen sooner or later. This isn’t a breakup that ‘needed’ to happen. It was a breakup that was GOING to happen one way or another.

I do think that a Stolitz relationship will probably still happen by the end of the show. But this scene illustrated that it can ONLY happen after Blitzo and Stolas have BOTH done some serious work on themselves individually and worked and grown through their respective issues as people.

we all need to understand what this says about stolas. "you were mine to earn"—he's saying that at some point, when he began his quest to win blitz's affections, blitz became his. the prize, the trophy, the gold. blitz's affection was his to gain, he thought, because that's how it went in his fictional worlds—we know stolas likes to read. we know that for a long time, books were his only friends. but do we realize what kind of understanding on relationships that gives him?

he only ever read about whirlwind romance and dashing, rugged bad boys and posh, pretty aristocrats in ravishing love. he read about mystique and romcom love and "don't get on that train, harriet!"

he never read about arguing and rage and feelings of inadequacy and class differences and lines in the sand that were so very difficult to cross.

stolas is naive, and he is ignorant, and he is sheltered. he is brilliant, and caring, and hopeful, and hopeless.

stolas read about grand gestures and forgiveness; he read about grand gestures and blossoming love that shoved away any past grievances—and he believed every word.

this is how he sees the world, and when blitz didn't accept his gesture, he got upset. things didn't go as planned, and he was so confused because blitz was supposed to be the prize, and stolas was supposed to win him.

it wasn't supposed to be like this.

so yeah, he got angry, and he didn't give blitz a moment, and when blitz hurled vitriol at him instead of love and affection that he had expected, he reacted too quickly.

"you were mine to earn"—we can hope this means he's moved beyond that mindset, because blitz was not a prize, nor was he going to dashingly sweep stolas off his feet. and once he undersands that, and blitz has revelations of his own, maybe, finally, they can heal.

SPOILER ON STOLITZ FIGHT DURING FULL MOON!!!

Stolas addition

To start this. Take this into note: Stolas is not on his antidepressants throughout the whole fight since he has ran out of them.

Now!! Stolas, from what we see from ‘THE CIRCUS’ had a, of course, shitty childhood. Dad who didn’t give a shit about him, the normal.

But, unlike Blitz who letted the piece of shit he calls a father berated him and get under his skin. It’s Stella who he lets get under his skin. Which I don’t blame him for. He’s known her since childhood because of an Arranged marriage. Since. Childhood.

So when we see Blitz lashing out and screaming and stomping at the end of the scene. One line that got my full attention was this one:

“Are you fucking kidding! Can I get a fucking minute to think after everything you put me through you pompous rich asshole!!”

Notice how throughout the time when Stolas leaves the room and how Stolas casts Blitz outside of his house.

He flinches. His posture when walking is stiff and fast,he is hugging himself, he is making himself smaller.

He’s having flashbacks of Stella yelling at him like that.

When Stolas shows his true feelings to Blitz and gives him the Asmodeus Crystal. It shows that Stolas wants to make Blitz feel free of this arrangement he set up in the first place.

He doesn’t know how love really works. The only love he really ever had was Stella, that’s it.

So when Stolas sees Blitz shrugging off the fact that Stolas actually cares about him and loves him -bc he doesn’t think anyone could ever love him- Stolas doesn’t know that so in his mind he thinks ‘oh yeah, he’s only here for the Grimore, not for me, why would he love me?’

Blitz, in terms of understanding things, needs time to process it. Otherwise he just starts to yell and come to the first conclusion that his mind makes up.

Stolas doesn’t know that! What he does know is that he has to end this as fast as possible because he’s gonna get hurt again. Hes fucking readying himself bc he knows he’s gonna get hurt again!!

Which is why when Stolas finally says goodbye. He doesn’t let blitz have the chance to say sorry or have the chance to talk because ‘why would he mean it? He doesn’t care. He never did…. Just like Stella…just like everyone else..’

Helluva Boss Ghostfu*ckers vent

okay so I recently finished watching the new HB episode an hour ago and holy shit was there a lot to unpack there.

Like for starters I loved how we got more millie screentime since the episode mainly focused on her and blitz's friendship. It was pretty interesting that we got a backstory on how they first met, and how they formed IMP along with moxxie and loona.

I also got a emotional when blitz was having a panic attack when faced with the memories of his past and how he broke down in tears when he saw his mom tilla, that scene pretty much broke me (crying)

And the ghost possession scenes were pretty scary ngl the animation on that was both good and scary. And when they defeated the ghost, I think his name is Rolando, it was pretty funny how they had to put the machine in the pool after kicking the ghost fish demon in the pool to kill him.

I also noticed when blitz and Millie were doing the search around the hotel the room scene just gave me Scooby doo vibes. And the way moxxie kept freaking out over the finances was like watching people freak out over maths questions which was very funny. And it's really funny how loona just moved him to the TV to stop him from stressing about it and his mood was immediately fixed when a musical came on, I swear he is a theatre kid at heart.

NGL even tho loona can come off as mean and rude to other people with anger problem she can be nice to people she really cares about when she wants to like her dad blitz in the s1 finale episode, Octavia in the seeing stars episode and vortex.

And finally I kinda feel bad for blitz after his break up with stolas, I mean we can tell that he misses him and I really hope that they will both be able to emotionally develop and communicate with eachother so they can have a relationship. Bc I know in my heart that they are meant for eachother and there's still some scenes from the s2 trailer like blitz saving stolas from probably andrealphus or satan to prove it

Overall I give this episode 5 stars and recommend it to you guys to watch. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Happy Halloween 🎃
