Some of the most valuable & trusty tools in my still-life kit are my weights & blocks.

My weights are 8lb and 10 lb shot-filled weights...similar to bean bags. These are used to weigh down, stabilize and position bags on set. Bags are much easier to style and finesse when they are standing still and not twisting and shifting in your hands when styling straps and props.

Similarly....my clear acrylic blocks are lifesavers. When stuffing bags, accessorizing bags, stacking accessories and/or props and all-around building volume or height...these little gems are always there for me.

These clear blocks come in ALL shapes and sizes...from large flat surfaces to small cubes, from medium cubes to round cylinders, tall towers to spheres and everything in between.

You can also have them custom made for a specific project.  My friends at Canal Plastics Center on Canal Street in Manhattan have been in the business for ages. They will make any shape, size and even any color!
