I did end up scrolling through my personal archives for this and going back to my bnha roots just for you <3 This concept was a fave of mine, and while I didn't write an actual fic for it, I did write a plot summary-type thing along with some bullet points. Hope you enjoy a little Momojirou!

It’s a rite of passage for the Yaoyorozu family once a child turns fifteen to head a successful infiltration mission - the higher the stakes, the more respect the young Yaoyorozu will earn from their future subordinates. Knowing this, Yaoyorozu Momo sets her sights on infiltrating Yuuei High School - one of the most revered and protected institutions in Japan - for the duration of three full years. Momo’s quite literally been preparing for this for her entire life. 

But what happens when Momo realizes she could be more than just a means to an end, the latest blossom of a tree watered in blood? What about when she’s surrounded by loving people her own age for the first time in her life, and it clicks that she’s allowed to want things for herself? That maybe, just maybe, she can save lives rather than take them? Rule with love and not fear?

As their first year goes on, both Momo and Kyoka grow to love their place within their class and genuinely care for their classmates. Feelings like these are dangerous, they know. But at least it can help make their act more convincing. 

Kyoka notices that Momo’s acting less and less every day. They know each other’s tells, they have since childhood, and Momo isn’t just pretending to play Hero anymore.

ok starting off strong; her entire personality hinges on her overperformance of masculinity. she is violent, overprotective, and incredibly arrogant, all traits that she has picked up from both the men around her and the men she saw on tv. her entire worldview is centered around the idea that if she is not uncaring, aggressive, self-centered, and spiteful, then she isn't just less of a man, but less of a person, less of an individual. despite being self-centered, she despises everything about herself. she hates how violent she is, she hates how cruel she is, she hates how she doesn't even care about anyone around her.

she perpetuates a cycle of hating everything "being a man" stands for by traumatizing herself, and the traumatization only makes her more violent, more "man-like" in her eyes. she uses her perceived masculinity as a shield to hide behind any sort of self-reflection, she's tricked herself into believing that she IS a man and she IS better for it. she believes that if she outperforms every man around her, then nobody can question her manhood, meaning she doesn't have to question her manhood. she doesn't even refuse to think about it, she just is so deeply caught up in her own narrative that she doesn't realize she's repressing everything.

she views womanhood in a deeply misogynistic way, purposefully. she views anyone that she deems a "non-man" as weak, perceptible to violence, perceptible to being hurt, perceptible to emotion. it's both a product of the way that she was raised, and a way for her to cope and deny any feelings of being a woman. she is arrogant, she is violent, she is overly masculine, and she is not weak. she desperately makes both herself and everyone around her see herself as anything but a traditional woman, going out of her way to get into fights and arguments as a form of dominance.

kondraki views the very act of being feminine as a joke, something to be laughed at, to be made fun of, because it is so utterly ridiculous in her own eyes that anyone would want to be weak. she is incapable of separating "vulnerability" and "being a woman" from eachother, firmly believing them to go hand-in-hand. during her recounting of the 113 incident, she talks of it extremely fondly, almost dream-like, calling herself a "pretty princess" and saying how gorgeous she felt. this is played for laughs, even by herself. she plays it off like a joke, all while obviously being deeply fond of the experience. throughout the entire post, she speaks wistfully of being a woman, like it's some faint dream that she woke up from and could never hope to achieve. she clarifies towards the end that, after the effects had worn off, she was deeply depressed again. it's a deeply vulnerable post on her own part, whether she plays it for jokes or not.

one of the only times she allows herself to be vulnerable, to express interest in anything besides her over masculine persona that she has adapted over the years, is when she is talking about being a woman. it is overwhelmingly obvious that it has deeply effected her. it was, quite literally, the "prettiest she's ever felt". and that's the thing, it Was. past-tense. this is not something she has kept up. it is a deep secret she has hidden away. she allowed herself to be feminine, to be vulnerable and weak and every other word she has told herself women are, and it haunts her. again, she speaks of it so fondly, but it still haunts her. it's a nagging thought in the back of her head that she is not a man, that she is not safe, that she is vulnerable, that she is weak. and so she hides it, locks it away in a deep part of her that she refuses to look at, and she laughs at it, laughs at herself, implies she is ridiculous to even be thinking like this, allowing herself to be vulnerable and give away some part of herself that she has vowed to never release. she is arrogant, and she is mean, and she is cruel, and all of these things wind back into her own self-perception.

tldr kondraki hates herself and the 113 post is a deeply vulnerable thing for her to ever admit and she hates herself sooo deeply for it

I think the first thing that would’ve drawn him to you is how you’re not afraid to speak your mind

While all of his other subordinates just mindlessly follow orders, you need to know why and don’t have a problem saying no

“On our next mission we’re going to have to take over a town until there is a peace treaty.”

“Why?”

“Because the enemy has to know we are serious about our demands.”

“Then what’ll happen if they still don’t agree. I’m not going to kill innocents commander!”

“No one is killing innocents. We’ll discuss it more when the time comes.”

Then of course you carried out the mission perfectly 

You’ve never once let him down 

From then on he thought you were the hottest person to ever exist

He tried to talk to you about personal things time to time but he found it hard because he has a hard time sharing things with people in the first place 

“So…do you smoke?”

“No commander, I value my lungs.”

The only exception to this is Xeno

Xeno and Stanley love talking to each other no matter what about, but they get even more excited when their friend talks about the thing they love

Every time Xeno hears Stanley mention your name he smiles to himself for his friend’s happiness 

“Found them changing an old man’s battery for his car today.” Stanley tells Xeno as he lights his cigarette. “When I asked them about it they told me they wanted to learn so they can teach their little sister.”

Xeno chuckles as he finishes mixing his concoction. “Maybe they can help you when you need to change your oil again. God knows you nearly flooded the Earth again with the amount of oil that spilt everywhere.”

Stanley never really asked you out, but it was clear that that’s what he was trying to do 

There was a military ball being held and Stanley was supposed to get an award and give a speech

He wasn’t nervous, after all he’s gotten plenty of awards. But the minute he saw you in your dress/suit, everything that was in his head instantly left

“Good evening (y/n). If I may say, you look absolutely stunning in your dress/suit.” 

You chuckle. “Thank you commander. And if it’s not out of my place I must tell you that you look very handsome in that suit. But of course you seem to look handsome in anything you wear,” you tell him as you place a hand on where his medal will be. “Congratulations on your award.”

With that you try to walk off. Notice the try😉

He instantly grabs your arm. “Dance with me.”

You raise an amused eyebrow. 

“It’s an order soldier.”

And with that the whole night the two of you were together. He introduced you to Xeno despite him basically knowing who you are. You dance with him, drink with him, talk laugh and everything else!

He almost forgot he got an award and has to make a speech lol

After the ball he insists he should walk you to your room 

When you get there, you both tell each other how much fun you had tonight.

Blame it on the alcohol or Stanley just being so sick and tired of wanting to be with you that he just kisses you

To his surprise you kiss back

You two kinda sorta make out in your bedroom for a hot minute but you push him off 🫢

“G-goodnight commander, I’ll see you tomorrow.”

When tomorrow comes and he starts assigning chores for his subordinates to do when I he can’t find your name of the list

He checked it again and again and again and again and you get the idea

He asks someone about it and they tell him you’re leaving the regiment 

He’s so shocked and mad he just storms to your quarters

“(Y/N)! WHY ARE YOU DROPPING OUT???”

Your sister that you’ve mentioned before is standing with a box in her hand as you tape another

“This is who you’ve settled for (y/n)?” Your sister asked you.

You chuckle and send her out to give you and Stanley some privacy

Stanley, arms crossed, waits there with a pout on his face

“I’ve found a job as a personal body guard for a new big singer. The pay is good but I won’t be working under you anymore so-“

“Is this about last night? Look I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable or overstepped your boundary. I just couldn’t contain my feelings for you! But please you don’t have to le-“

“Will you let me finish commander? I’m leaving so I can pursue a relationship with you without all the other subordinates talking shit!”

His face is blank, but then he tried to hide the dumb smiling that’s just trying to form on his face 

He coughs. “Very well. I’m glad you want this as much as me.”

You stick your empty gun at his throat 

“Don’t make me regret it.” You tell him

Kiind of jumping off this post; the idea of any of the batkids being biologically related is interesting (esp if they don’t know), but I’m specifically thinking about Tim and Dick. About the Drakes having an open marriage and meeting the Flying Graysons on a dig, or an earlier performance in Gotham, and they have some fun together and Janet tests pregnant shortly after. They tell John and Mary abt it, and do a DNA test and turns out Tim is John’s child. They kind of keep in touch with the Graysons through letters, and when it’s announced Haly’s Circus is performing in Gotham they jump at the chance to hang out and introduce their sons. Tim and Dick were aware they had brothers but they didn’t know much about each other but their names, and when they meet for the first time they click instantly. Dick is ecstatic to have a little brother and Tim is literally bouncing from joy, and Dick promises to do a quadruple backflip just for him and someday teach him how to do one, but then everything goes wrong and you can guess how.

From here there’s two ways this can go.

A) Jack and Janet adopt Dick. They foster him as soon as possible—maybe his parents left custody to them in their wills—adopt him only once he’s ready, stay home more to take care of him and Tim while they all grieve, and try to keep the memory of the flying Graysons alive and help Dick (and Tim) stay in touch with his Romani roots. But Dick knows that wire snapping was foul play. He’s determined to go out there and bring his parent’s murderer to justice. He’s already strong and quick from his performing, and the Drakes enrolled him in self defence classes anyway since this is Gotham. He’s got what it takes. But Batman refuses to see that, he just sees a little boy in too-bright colours carrying too much weight on his shoulders, so he does his best to make Dick step back and bring in his parent’s murderer for him. But he never unmasks him or finds out his identity, even if he has suspicions.

Maybe in this AU Dick and Tim are closer in age and roam the streets as a duo of birds. Either Jason is still taken in by Bruce and joins Dick (and Tim(?)) in causing chaos and grey hairs, or Dick is the one to catch him jacking the Batmobile’s tires and gains his trust through months of sharing food and resources like he’s befriending a stray cat, until he agrees to go home to Drake Manor.

B) Bruce is still in the crowd that night, Jack and Janet aren’t legible to be foster guardians for whatever reason, and Dick is still adopted by Bruce and becomes his sidekick as Robin. Dick and Tim only meet a few times in Galas, and while Dick remembers he has a half-brother his brain trying to shield him from the trauma of that day makes his memories very fuzzy. He can’t even remember his brother’s name, just his age and that Dick promised to teach him the quadruple flip someday. Jack and Janet do their fanon usual neglect as a way to grieve and distance themselves from that trauma. Maybe they bring Tim with them for the first year or so. Either way, Tim still has the photo(s) from the day at the circus, so he gives one to Dick (maybe leaves it on his windowsill since they share backyards) in the hopes that he’ll remember Tim and reach out. Dick is eternally grateful for the photo but only because it’s of his parents, he doesn’t recognise Tim (he’s too young to visibly share any features with John except skin tone) and just thinks he’s a kind fan. The Drakes do share unusual fondness for Dick but assume that he remembers them and has chosen not to reach out, and are respecting his boundaries. So Dick grows, becomes Nightwing yada yada Jason becomes Robin (part of Dick hates that the other person to wear that mantle isn’t his real brother), Jason dies, everyone angsts and Tim steps in. Tim becomes Robin, maybe realises Dick doesn’t know they’re related but chooses not to tell him because he doesn’t want them to feel obligated; he wants to earn Robin. So he does. And yeah, a lot of it really sucks, but he doesn’t regret it one bit. A year or two in Dick goes on some mission at Haly’s circus (or searches through the rubble after Blockbuster burns it down), and finds a bunch of old letters and photos belonging to his parents. The letters are from the Drakes. The photos are of them and Tim.

Maybe Blockbuster found the letters too and targets Tim. Maybe Dick finds out they’re related when Tim is in the medbay. Maybe in a mess of being very young + traumatised + no one speaking abt it Tim separates the facts of ‘I have a half-brother’ and ‘I watched the Flying Graysons die’, and only suspects the two are connected. Maybe Bruce always had a suspicion because of their similar features. Maybe he did a DNA test and either chose not to or forgot to tell anyone the results. Maybe Cass thought it was common knowledge because of how Tim acts just a little bit different around Dick, so she makes some comment years down the line when Damian is bragging about being the only blood son, and is more than a little startled when everyone other than Tim including Dick looks at her like she started speaking in tongues.

Either way, Dick eventually makes good on his promise and teaches Tim that flip.

niku’s gojo in general is one of my favorites ever ever ever but i’m specifically adding a link to bten because . bten lives in my brain <3 and i adore both bten!reader & bten!gojo more than anything….. ANYWAY . niku’s gojo is my favorite for many reasons but above all else he just…. feels so real to me . sometimes i have to remind myself that i’m reading a fic and not canon content bc her gojo just FEELS like gojo . it’s a little scary. i read bten and heard kaiji tang’s voice in my ear 😭 i think it’s sooo difficult to capture the balance that canon!gojo has, but niku does it so effortlessly!!! he’s so charming and guarded and annoying and kind beneath it all and i’m just….. in love with him . that’s all. i do want to strangle him just a tiny bit but mostly i want to kiss him.

sel’s col!gojo…. my baby my husband the loml. i adoreeeee sel’s take on gojo and the way he views/approaches love ….. and just like niku her gojo feels so real and so grounded!!!! sel has a way of rounding out her characters and making them feel so human, which i. adore. and it works so well with gojo. col!gojo is canon to me idc. he’s so relatable to me and following his story with col!reader was just so touching 🥹🥹 i . cried . every time he blushed or got flustered i fell to my knees . flustered gojo is really hard to get right i think??? bc it’s just….. such a rare mood from him. but it feels so perfect in her fics. col!gojo reminds me of a plant in the softest, most loving way and i just want him to grow and embrace the sun !!!!!!!! i want him to be happy….

another general pick; alexis’s gojo!!!!!! (link goes straight to my personal fav which is a very bold statement to make but i think abt this fic constantly)…. this is another gojo that just feels. so canon to me somehow???? every time i read her gojo fics i’m just like yeah…. that’s gojo satoru. that’s the gojo satoru that i love and adore. it always reminds me of WHY i love him sm and it’s just….. such a wonderful feeling yk??? alexis rlly captures what i perceive as the core of his character!!!!! i can’t tell you what it is exactly but i feel that so strongly!!!!! he’s my baby and i love him so so bad. he makes me so happy and he feels so human:((((( i just love him…. him and his self-destructive little habits….. also special shoutout to idol!gojo bc he’s just soo. yeah.

then we have io’s flower shop!satoru <333 the fic isn’t out as of rn, but i added a link to a snippet that i’m still swooning over….. i ADORE this concept and it’s so perfect for io’s gorgeous and flowery writing!!!! he was made for her fr…… i just really love the idea of a soft, gentle, smitten satoru 🥺 and him being a flower boy rlly scratches an itch in my brain because of his canon ties to flowers!!! the fact that he kind of views other people as flowers. or at least compared them to flowers in ch. 236….. i just feel like this concept is . genius. nature loves satoru and he loves it back . he’s a nurturing soul at his core imo and that’s not something i see people explore super often, but this au captures it perfectly <33

lily’s poseidon!suguru stole my heart very recently and i have ….. not stopped thinking of him since. i love any take on suguru as a god and lily’s version is just so genius . suguru being a god of the sea????? it’s perfect….. and the fact that he’s so gentle and coaxing and sweet 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 just the way he speaks in this drabble had me captivated he is truly the god of all time….. and his DESIGN . the concept in itself. i know for a fact that he’s the most stunning man you’ll ever see. he’s so almighty and powerful and he speaks so softly and gently but you hear every word crystal clear because he just has this Presence…… i rlly can’t stop thinking about him.

then we have rem’s suguru!!!! who is the acts of service king of All Time. and i’m obsessed with him. i love chatting with rem because i love her but also because we always agree on suguru and her thoughts always make me feel insane….. he NEEDS you to need him. he needs to take care of you. or he’ll literally explode. he’s such a caretaker and i can’t get enough of him….. that’s really the Core of suguru’s character imo!!!! his desperation to take care of others. he wants to take care of you more than he ever takes care of himself because doing that makes Him happy. and rem just captures that so, so perfectly, yknow?????? oughhhh her sugu is just so Mommy i need him to coddle me :(((((

aaaaand finally!!!!! last but not least!!!!!!!! rheya’s vamp!sashisu :33 i know you asked for stsg specifically but i’m throwing in shoko as a bonus bc they’re All characterized so well in this. they live rent free in my silly little brain . there’s not a single person on this planet that i trust to write poly sashisu more than rheya bc she just Gets them!!!!! and….. vamp!sashisu..,… lord save me…….. they could drain me like a capri sun idec. I’ve been posting a lot abt roblos, so I decided to make a post entirely about

This is my Regretevator OC - Mori (Tanaka)!!

His lore is still in the works since he was just an unnamed Roblox OC but the main idea I want to have going is that he’s a roblox avatar (specifically those slenders) who made a deal with a phantom from another world. Little did the avatar know, he was duped into handing over complete control of his body to this phantom, and over a long period the two souls were fused into one being; Mori Tanaka.

His pronouns are He/It/They and He’s Bisexual! :D

Despite the (debatably) dark upbringing, Mori tends to be more mischievous than either Split or Pest. Instead of cracking jokes or stealing, Mori is more fond of giving others a good scare once in a while.

On most days he’s laid back, always finding a why to strike up a conversation with anyone, and is just a total vibe to be around.

Even though he can shapeshift into whatever he wants, he prefers to keep the appearance of the avatar while adding his own spectral touches :)

- Throwing out some fun facts -

Mori has super strength and an excellent stamina

He’s a bit of an empath, and has slight mind control powers (think Marvel Mantis but not as consistently effective)

His Umbrakinesis can be as strong as he needs it to be, but it comes with a drawback in the form of an “Umbra Sickness” (this is a defect on the phantom’s part)

Adding onto the Umbrakinesis lore, Mori uses the very house the phantom resides in as a pocket dimension. Able to store whatever he needs there :)

He has a strong admiration and respect for Mach even though she makes him nervous

Mori has accidentally scared Bive into oncoming traffic before

His favorite food is castella cake

He bites his ice cream

He does listen to music with his headphones, mostly genres like sigilkore, jumpstyle, dark pop, and phonk (specifically the ones used in catwalk vids iykyk)

If the Regretevator does the one floating event, Mori thinks he’s safe watching the rest of the passengers look so bewildered, only to end up crashing to the floor along with them (this happens every single time)

Also in a “non canon” scenario, he is deathly in love with Pest because, erm,

I’m glad you asked. Here’s just a random list of some hc’s I have abt him

- His motorbike was a gift from Fukuchi for his 16th birthday (Jouno did not approve)

- He still sleeps with the pillow of the HD mascot that Jouno gave him, despite originally rejecting it. He says it helps with his back, but he secretly just really likes it

- He makes gifts for people out of metal. But he says he just bought them even after his cover is blown bc he’s embarrassed to admit how much time he’s spent stressing over making sure they’re perfect

- He kind of absorbs slang and stuff that the people around him use. Partially because he’s a spy and is blending in, but mostly it’s subconscious. This is how both Hirtosu and Fukuchi accidentally end up using gen z slang and giving their collective organizations a crisis

- I personally (and I do mean personally, I don’t need to get bothered on twt for calling a character trans again) hc him as ftm. I’m trans, so it mostly comes from that, but also I think A.) he dresses like every trans guy I know and B.) the idea of him cutting his hair and transitioning only to realize he looks so much more like his brother hits hard

- He has a bunch of pairs of earrings people give him. He really likes his metal studs he usually wears, but he absolutely has a few fun pairs Higuchi has given him

- He’s not super fond of parties, especially formal ones, but he likes spending time with the people he cares abt (this one actually is canon according to mayoi)

- Bro listens to punk rock exaclusively

- Really wanted a pet snake before he learned he had to feed it mice and then got sad

- His actual personality is much more similar to how he acts with the Hunting Dogs, but the mafia persona was always kind of a cooler version of him he never thought he could be

- Jouno and Tachi sibling relationship is very precious to me. Tachihara is one of the few characters Jouno is consistently nice to (not to mention the fact that Tachihara often directly addresses Jouno even when they’re in a group, and looks super proud when Jouno praises him), and Jouno immediately called it off with Fukuchi when he realized he was the reason Tachihara is missing.

- Basically, they’re found family and Tachihara deserves 2 found families who fight over him on holidays

i use medibang!! ive been using it forrrr maybe like 7ish years now... ive been meaning to one day get clip studio or something but i havent had the chance to buy it and im also a little intimidated at the idea of having to readjust to a new program HAHA

i use a few different brushes!! it depends on what im drawing and what i feel like using at the time (i should probably plan them out more often, actually)

oil paint, g pen, fluffy watercolor, and round brush (wet) are all brushes that come with medibang!!! i know i made Another Marker myself, and im pretttttty sure i made the first marker one too? my favorites are round brush and g pen though!!! i tend to use fluffy watercolor more for colors rather than lineart

(i also keep correction at around 12, i would use it more since my hands arent the steadiest but i find high correction to be kinda confusing so i just keep it low)

the paper effect is smth i learned liiiike maybe two years ago ish? and i have simply KEPT doing it ever since HAHA i do wanna mess around with more textures cus i dont want to be too reliant on just one texture for my art but it IS very fun and i like it...

medibang has a feature that makes it REALLY easy to do!!

custom noise is my BEST friend. the sand, watercolor paper (specifically 2), and marker paper (specifically 2) are the ones i use most often!!!

i also will copy n paste color layers and lineart layer, add gaussian blur and do like 200 layer effects (i most often do this to lineart, then set it to hard light and somewhere between 30-60% opacity to mimic bleeding from ink!!). i DO often experiment w messing w colors wo layer effects cus its fun but sometimes its just more fun to use layer effects instead!!

medibang also has materials!!

i dont use them as often but i like this one :D ive used it on a handful of things

and just for fun!!! things look suuuper different without this stuff. like the thing i just posted used a LOT of this (to be honest its cus i really really didnt wanna do shading for it LOL but it still felt too flat and i feel like these effects are a nice middle ground- but i will still often use this stuff when i AM shading things)

sometimes i will also use similar custom noise textures but for different parts of the image!!! like in this one i had a waatercolor texture for the bg but a seperate one for the foreground

it’s the third date. it’s official. well- it’s not official official, because they haven’t set anything in stone, but that’s what dates are for, right? seeing where the lake takes you? figuring out if the compatibility extends beyond the fondness. i mean, you two have been friends for so long, so the compatibility has to mean something, right?

this date was funky’s idea. the first was your own, the second was something you both could indulge in, and this one is something he thought up of. it was a small travel across the canopy, and with the blaring sun out, he preferred a shaded area. not that he minds the sun by any means, he’s as addicted to it as donkey’s as addicted to the recognition of the many other vast kongs. but he’s always very aware of your aversion to the sun. well, not aversion, but it does have quite the effect on your physical state.

that sun does get a little more than headache-y, if funky’s honest. even he has his own limits.

while traversing across the vines and branches of cannonball trees, he flashes you a grin. one of those playful ones. he was always significantly better at moving around— not that you weren’t, but as it still shows, he can move those hands and legs through each opening without struggle every single time. funky’s moving fast enough that you perch on a thicker branch momentarily to catch your breath. you can’t keep up as long as he can, and it was a frequent occurrence for you to need a minute. not to mention, he’s a much larger specie of kong moving fast— it gets significantly harder to keep up regardless how hard you try sometimes.

funky never misses this, of course. he climbs a little higher than the branch you’re resting on, and hangs upside down. funky’s head turns to you, a little concerned, despite the familiarity.

“you’re a little more out of breath than normal.” funky notes, not much playfulness in his tone. he’s lacking any of his teasing vibe— is it that noticeable? that you struggle behind him sometimes? ah, you love him so dearly, you’d hate to worry him. you can’t help the way your heart starts nearly palpitating as he raises his glasses, those kind eyes softening with a great amount of concern for you.

for you, you think. you internally cringe. how were you able to befriend funky so easily? you’re not even sure. he gets you, yet you still constantly wonder why he sticks around. no, you’re not ungrateful, but you certainly are…confused. or maybe it’s the doubt? sure, not every kong is perfect, but you seem to have much more struggling factors than anyone else you know. everyone else can function so well and easily and keep going, and sure, you can too, but why does it feel so drastically different?

for crying out loud, diddy’s a kid who can move much faster and similarly to funky’s own speed, why can’t you?

funky notices that look in your eyes. no, not even that— the knit of your eyebrows, your expression is equally unfocused and extremely pensive, your lips are pulled into a frown that speaks volumes. his face relaxes and he readjusts his position next to you, now perched right beside you.

“that look in your eyes— are you doubting yourself again?” funky asks. he’s curious, not judgemental. his tone is warm like the sun, not icy with scolding for your mindset.

still, you snap out of your daze and shift awkwardly on the branch below you, your long tail curled around it for security.

“i’m just…” you hesitate. voicing your feelings audibly is hard. writing them and crying is easy, because no one usually sees those tears and you can deliver the message. this, however, is a raw vulnerability. you have to talk to funky and try not to cry at the same time. it’s not like he berates you for crying, he never would nor has, but even still…that dread lingers.

“i worry. about this. us.” you finally manage. you brush a fallen leaf from the tufts on your shoulder. “i love you, i love you so much. i have for…a good amount of time. hah, you already know that, i already…spilled every bit of my adorations to you when- ah, nevermind, that’s not the point.”

funky scoots closer. “(y/n)—”

“and i just love you so much that i want to be perfect for you! and even though my heart and mind and soul probably know you love me for just being myself because you tell me it time and time again— i want to be…everything for you.” you rant, only to rub a hand over your face. then press your palms to your eyes. the sting with an emotion that makes your mind scream. “i just want to be good enough for you because you’re so, so lovely-”

funky tries again. “(y/n), hey, listen—”

“and i’m me, and i know you say you love me but i don’t want you to be with me out of obligation because we’ve known each other for so long! and i know i have qualities that other kongs find frustrating or unusual or-”

“(y/n)—” funky says a little more firmly. it still doesn’t reach that approaching tidal wave.

“and i fear that if i mess up even a little, you won’t want anything more to do with me because every expectation you have of me is just…ruined by one little mistake i probably would've known i could prevent and-” you choke out, your voice breaking. still, your worried rambles are interrupted.

“(y/n)!” funky exclaims, but it’s not a yell. it’s not a scolding. it’s not harsh. he’s grabbing your attention, and you focus on him. your eyes are wide, and your vision somewhat blurry. you feel two hands hold your face and his thumbs wipe away the tears that have gathered in your eyes. his expression is just so warm and tender, he’s not one bit exasperated by your worries.

“(y/n)...i understand. i know where you’re coming from.” despite the somewhat seriousness of the situation, he smiles, almost as if he were recalling a memory. “trust me, as long as i’ve had it bad for you, i completely understand. the doubt, the worries, that maybe just being me will make this a mess…”

funky pulls you into his arms, keeping a steady balance as he keeps you close. he moves one arm to further steady the position by holding onto a branch. “but y’know what?”

you sniffle and wipe your face. “mm?”

“you stuck by irregardless. and that reassured me you still liked me. you keep going on these dates with me, so at least your words still prove true— you still love me regardless of my presence, my “cute little quirks” as you say.” funky teases that last one. you can feel your face be solar beamed by the sun. not literally, it’s just that warm.

“you- how do you-”

“i heard it through the grapevine, (y/n).”

“candy…” you muse. you groan and bury your face into the fuzziness of funky’s bicep. he gives a loud, hearty laugh.

“but my words are serious, (y/n). i’ve been by your side for years, yeah?” funky affectionately strokes your cheek with his large thumb.

you nuzzle into his palm. “yeah.”

“so stop worrying about the things i already love about you. you’re not tainting my view of you by you being…you, i’ve already seen and loved it all. i will continue to love it all.” funky reassures.

you feel tears gather into your eyes. you lightly smack his chest as you try not to start bawling. funky lightly chuckles and rubs your back. his lips come to meet your forehead, lingering for a few seconds before he draws back.

“two things.” funky says lightly. “if you can’t keep up, you are more than welcome to latch onto my back.”

you sniffle and nod. “got it. thank you.”

he hums with a nod. then he tilts your head up. funky’s eyes are nothing but loving as he speaks again. “the other— how about we make it official? i want you. i want you bad, (y/n). and i know we agreed we would test the waters, but i already know i want this. that i want you. all of you. i don’t need dates that are like our times hanging out to know i want you to be my lover.”

your heart just about skips a beat at that. funky can’t be serious. yet...you don’t hesitate. you latch onto funky like a vice. you want this more than anything. your heart feels like it's going to beat out of your chest at this rate. “yes- yes, a million times, yes!”

Ramblings on Modern AU Ogata

Modern AU Ogata has so much potential when it comes to the different ways his mental instability could be displayed, along with his living situation as well.. so I'll write down some thoughts I've had/collected below (& I'm well aware Noda mentioned he'd be a dentist but I wanna explore other possibilities)

^ to preface I've read a couple works on ao3 abt this as well so some ideas are heavily inspired

Work: I think a job as a photographer would translate over his sniper skills very well, links such as steady hands and a good eye, staying still in a required position, "shooting", and freelance of course.. Though I don't think this would pay well enough for him to maintain a decent living, so he would primarily work as a morgue attendant for a couple reasons; respect given when needed, no customer interactions (or if so, very few), most talking is between co-workers which I don't imagine there's plenty of, he wouldn't be opposed to being in the space w. all the corpses, it could worsen his mental state (🤤), to an extent links back to his "canon" modern job via medical field

As for the home life; small apartment, can't imagine him caring about upkeeping the place or getting "fashionable" furniture so most items inside are just necessities. while he was only doing photography he used to sleep on a mattress but after the attendant job he upgraded to a simple bed. Definitely has a computer setup that he saved up for, used for editing/organizing his pictures and doom scrolling. I like to think he has some interest that he researches in his spare time, could be really into the history & different types of guns, or if we want to be less on-the-nose he'd enjoy deep sea creatures - just reading up on them or watching videos, maybe those informational documentaries. Also has a small amount of fondness towards Hello Kitty (bc ofc I have to add this), though it's something he's embarrassed to admit (Usami found this out & never let him hear the end of it)

Relationship w. ppl

I think he'd be pretty good at coming off as collected while working (outside of home) but when he's not required to talk with others he's contrived in public, says the bare minimum and leaves. He'd keep in touch with Usami and Tsukishima - they always have to reach out first but in his better moods sometimes he starts talking w. Usami. He used to have some sort of relationship with Tsurumi (relationship not used in a romantic sense here) but they fell out and he doesn't have contact with him anymore. Yuusaku has his # and tries inviting him over for the holidays but he declines most of the time, another instance where you must catch him while he's prone to social gatherings..

Mental state 😻

Okay this is where I take a lot of liberty so I apologize if ppl don't like this… I think he would definitely be depressed to some extent, falling into episodes where he's more of an active suicide risk, but it's not often enough to become debilitating to carry on normally. He wouldn't reach out for help, and would over time get much worse before he ever gets better (I'd like to think in the modern world he'd have a real chance at reformation though). Usami would unintentionally worsen Ogata's mental state by affirming his negative thoughts, though as an avid Usao shipper I have to give myself a treat and pretend Usami would take care of him during his worst times… And wouldn't make fun of his attempt at getting better if he ever enters therapy (delusion works in mysterious ways). Ogata would engage in self-destructive behavior; taking light drugs at a younger age but as he got older he resorted to sh. The first step towards rehab however would be a holiday dinner with Yuu where he actually showed up, and they entered a genuine conversation over his issues after Yuu grilled him enough about his worries.

Anyway, sorry this was so long & I didn't include many other characters, & if you just don't really see this as plausible for him - I like to play with him like a Lalaloopsy in my head

SMITTEN TIME 💖

First impression

My first impression of him was absolutely during the Damsel route, and I'll be real, I mostly defaulted to vaguely fond exasperation. I was a bit "oh no, he's funny for sure but Oh No" about him and he was one of my least favorite voices for the longest time!

...Whereas at this point he may not be one of my favorites but I honestly love him. He is fascinating, having darker depths of emotion than one would think at first and being capable of some definitely bad things, but also having a great capacity for love that is unflinching, unashamed, and comes with no caveats. He is a supportive darling with unbending faith and this also somehow makes him not only one of the strongest voices but also one of the most potentially dangerous to the group. This is great.

Favorite moment

Ohhh, there are so many small moments I can't choose between! The "He just likes to hear himself talk." "I do." exchange, the part where he straight-up says he's no thoughts head empty except for the Princess, how quick he is to forgive Opportunist and just accept him back on sides, how he slays us if we slay Damsel and his homoerotic fight with Cold at the very beginning of the Burned Grey route, The Look...

I think my favorite moment, though, might just be when you find the Princess's skeleton in the basement in Burned Grey and he goes "No! She was alive and well just a moment ago, floating away transparently!" It is SUCH a funny moment and if I make another "funniest moments in Slay the Princess" video, that is definitely going in there. He is hilarious.

Idea for a story

TBH, before the Pristine Cut comes out, it could be fun to write a version of the Damsel Chapter III that I don't think we're getting, one that I'd been toying with in my head... Choosing to stay with Damsel and the Narrator trying to force our hand again (or threatening to) leading to Smitten slaying us to show Narry he's serious about that, and then when we get to Chapter III instead of a basement it's an upstairs room, and it's way more livable, comfortable, with chairs and things, and her chain is thin and long and allows her access to the whole room comfortably. There is no blade. The only option, if they don't want to stay forever, is to brave what might be out there together and face the world, whatever may be. Once you actually decide to break the chains they snap easily.

(I think Cheated would be a fun option for this one, but I'd probably write it with Paranoid. Torn between love and fear in the Damsel chapter, and part of why we're "staying together" instead of escaping is fear of what will happen and what we'll find if we leave...)

Unpopular opinion

IDK how unpopular either of these are per se, so I'm going to give two of them:

One, Smitten shines least in his own basic route. If you go for Damsel and either free Damsel or deconstruct her, it is definitely incredible to see just how powerful Smitten's power of belief really is, but he himself isn't all that interesting and isn't as hilarious or as fun as in other routes. He has incredible moments in the Razor path, he's intensely sympathetic in the Moment of Clarity, he is both funny and very interesting personality-wise in Thorn (especially if you do free her), and then if you slay Damsel and get into Burned Grey he's maybe at his strongest both humor- and interest-wise.

Two, despite what I said above about loving Smitten in the Thorn chapter, which I do... I don't actually like the way to get Smitten in the Thorn chapter. I think it's jarring and kind of off-putting to start strongly flirting with Witch in that particular situation, and I don't like the implications of the "why are you actually trying to free me" "you're beautiful" exchange.

Favorite relationship

Among the other voices, I think my favorite relationship he has with them canonically is the one he has with Opportunist in the Thorn chapter. (I told you I love Smitten in The Thorn! I just don't like how you get there with him!) His weirdass relationship with Cold is a very close second, though, and I would be very interested in seeing them with a different dynamic in one of the new Pristine Cut Chapter IIIs, potentially!

Among the other voices, the relationships we don't really get to see in game that I'd love to see are how he'd be with Broken or Skeptic, with Cheated, Contrarian, and Paranoid being runners-up.

Among the vessels, my favorite canonical relationship he has with any of them... Hear me out, because I did say he is least interesting in his own base chapter, but I still really do love his relationship with Damsel. One of the only two vessel/voice ships I actually ship somewhat strongly (along with Adversary/Stubborn). I'd also love to see his relationship with Prisoner, Spectre, or Wild!

My favorite relationship for him in a shippy way is with Broken, though, by far. (Mending Hearts my beloved...)

Favorite headcanon

I really do love the idea that Smitten's unhesitating, unapologetic love of the Princess also translates to a love of the world, and that in any post-Construct AU where Shifty wasn't slain, he loves the world and life intensely because she is a part of all of it, even if he misses her.

I also really love trans Smitten, though! I specifically go back and forth between seeing Smitten as transfem and Damsel as transmasc, or seeing both of them as bigender, sometimes he/him and sometimes she/her.

during s1 he n felix were pretty alright friends, especially since felix oversaw the manufacturing for a lot of jayce and vik’s large-scale projects. there was always some kind of tension at the start btwn them, more so on felix’s part because he’s never been too fond of topsiders. naturally they kind of grew on each other + leveled up from coworkers to friends because of proximity and viktor as middle ground. it wasn’t uncommon to occasionally see them wandering around campus sometimes to go over technical things, since felix appreciates Jayce’s background in smithing. and then all of that friendship went to shit in s2 when felix learned that jayce laser-beamed his boyfriend in the chest </3. once jayce n vik came back from the astral plane or wtv (bc they DID), it took felix a while to get over it. but they did eventually go back to being friends! everyone cheers. it’s like…really general because lix doesn’t really. keep track of bonds too well.

okayyy like felix and mel would actually be good friends. Ik i just said that Felix distrusts topsiders + sucks at relations but mel’s a big exception. at first he just saw her as a funder for the mechanical department of the academy (among other council things) but working with her for financing, sponsors, and all of that took up a lot of their collective time with one another. plus, she was really on track without being in a horribly boring way—something felix definitely appreciated. pipeline of nice coworkers to good friends is strong with these two. platonic mel + felix is very fun in my brain. and we all know he was hyping her up SO much when he learned mel has magic powers. like damn she’s awesome !! their interactions lessened and turned to letters / similar after mel left for noxus, though felix is still very fond of her + their friendship isn’t going to disappear any time soon

ooooh my son… yume had heard a lot about toru’s students, especially megumi (often through letters/calls because yume was always in some new city). megumi had no idea who yume was until toru finally introduced them to each other in person—shortly before the sister-school event ! their dynamic was quite…brief (?) at first. since megumi acts very closed off around strangers and yume didn’t want to encroach. it took them a long while to achieve a good relationship with each other, ending up with a mentor/student dynamic. (megumi also appreciated how yume’s calm nature combatted with toru’s…everything. lmao.) that’s the basis, but it kind of splits after that: for canon-compliant yume + megumi, their relationship doesn’t go past mentor and student since yume dies before they can have any progression. when im talking about satoyume + megumi, their bond eventually grows into something more familial and parental as yume is further welcomed into toru and megumi’s life.

it's a fair question! i might elaborate more someday but atm the basic premise is that it's likely it'd be like a pragmatic deal between them? sasuke needs a source of strength and obito is both very powerful and a sharingan user, and obito has reason to look out for sasuke because of itachi hovering over his shoulder + if he trains sasuke correctly he can have a powerful ally on his side... which is i think?? the reason why obito let sasuke hang out with him for so long in canon but it went nowhere looooool

i find orochimaru's integration and then sudden exit from the plot to be a little bit messy so i like to think of ways of streamlining the process and just having sasuke be with the "main" naruto antagonists from an earlier date :0c with the rest of the kids still being with him as i am very fond of both karin and suigetsu ahahaha

i also find the idea of sasuke being in closer proximity to itachi during the timeskip (while still distant ofc) to be fun, like him being akatsuki-adjacent while itachi is also there brings fun scenarios to think about! + the fact itachi really doesn't like obito, so there's an added layer of 👀 as he hates that obito is the one training him but he can't really do anything abt it without showing his hand lol

and, the rest of the akatsuki interacting with a bunch of kids on a "friendly" level is a funny concept lmao

So tbth I tend to be pretty bad at favorite food hc bc I pretty much love all food and struggle to really determine what kind of food prefs characters would have, so I'll usually just completely make stuff up, which is nyot how I usually do things!! Of course w/ some of the UT characters thankfully we do have SOME input of their canon preferences...

However. As is the way w/ most things Papyrus I have thought abt the implications of the QnA waaay too much. As we know Flowey states Papyrus' favorite food to be dinosaur egg oatmeal, whereas nobody else knew and Papyrus himself stated not remembering. We also know, despite fandom portrayal, Papyrus has never actually eaten his own spaghetti, so we don't really know his thoughts on it.

The trick with Papyrus is that he lies all the time. He lies all the time! So does Flowey actually know his favorite? Or does he just think he does? Maybe he just made it up to sound knowledgeable. Flowey also lies (but possibly less so, or at least less smoothly than Papyrus, since usually Flowey will eventually state if he'd lied).

As a big fan of oatmeal myself, I do like to believe this is true, though, and it's fun to imagine that, while his favorite remains the dinosaur egg kind, that he gets very excited about the variety of other flavors once surfacing.

^ longest winded way possible to say that I like to hc Papyrus' fave food is oatmeal, BUT. I also like to imagine he likes fruity flavors, too! Like blueberry pecan or strawberries and crème <3

As for ht Papyrus, my interp Dove, I generally imagine having lived through a famine, amongst other things lol, it really changes the way you perceive food. While I definitely can't relate on that front, I do have experience having an incredibly limited diet bc of health reasons for several years. And now, I've always been a little bit of a """foodie""" (I really wanted to be a chef for most of my childhood), but coming out of that, I can say the way I perceive and appreciate food is undoubtedly different.

So with all of that completely unnecessary context, I imagine the types of foods and flavors Dove tends towards are very rich and rounded flavors, as opposed to how I'd imagine UT Papyrus seeks out brighter, sharper flavors. Not necessarily heavy, as I do still believe he'd be opposed to particularly greasy foods, but hearty stews, casserole type dishes, slow cooked oatmeal, rice pudding, you know what I mean? Probably mostly things that cook for a long time, things that thicken and develop complex flavors.

And, body willing when the chronic pain isn't too bad, I think he'd really enjoy making things as much from scratch as possible. I definitely think he’s more of a chef than a baker or patissier, so he tends toward savory more often than not, and avoids meats usually (not always an issue, but sometimes a strong aversion), so he'd probably cook a lot with rice and potatoes, all sorts of them and other root vegetables or squash.

I can't say I think he'd have any singular favorite food, but he would probably say all sorts of dishes are his favorites if he can smell them or is making it atm lol

I knooow you said I could add Papyri but I'm still going to apologize for this lmao, but I'm sorry, I have to add him or I'll Die / j but the aforementioned stuff I added abt my own experiences has really influenced how I write UF Papyrus post surfacing.

I've always been fond of the idea of things being worse in UF's underground in technical aspects too, like the CORE not functioning as well amongst other things that can cause complications in supply chains and production of necessary things, including food. Growing up with food scarcity constantly waxing and waning and never really ever being definably good wound up stunting most monsters knowledge of food.

So, suffice to say, once surfaced, there's a whole world of new things to discover and try and learn about. It's such a different experience than with HT, where they did have a reliable source of food and access to information about it, lost it, and then got it back (though I'm sure there still was plenty new stuff all the same).

Like, could you imagine having only ever seeing two colours for most of your life, and then seeing everything in full spectrum? So that's a driving force in what gets Edge so invested in cooking and baking. More than anything he wants to learn. It's exciting! And he can finally provide the ones he cares about with a surplus of high quality, well prepared nourishment. It's wild!

So similarly, he wouldn't really be able to choose one singular dish (might even say smth silly abt having to try every dish in the world before knowing for sure)...though I do love to hc that he has and always will have a soft spot for oatmeal made with a little honey and cinnamon <3

-perrys sister is 11 years older than him and died soon after ferb was born (who i will call E bc i can't come up w a name for her and mammalofaction's human perry au did smth to my brain)

-her death is mystery...to me. i have no idea how she died.

-they enter an OWCA orphanage nd they (well...just E at first. bc perrys a toddler lol) rly show promise. shes officially scouted when shes 15. (perry is scouted when hes 10)

-(dont. ask abt the remaining family lets just say theyre too far away or broke to take in kids. its a plot device)

-owca not a fun place to grow up. really rough in general esp once youve been scouted to work as an agent. does not help that there are adults there that enjoy the power they wield.

-when E is 18 she enters uni. owca helps her out. when shes 19 shes sent to the owca's uk division. does law foundation then gets a law degree.

-when shes 25 shes finally able to get guardianship of perry.

-perry. really struggles here. hes traumatized by his time alone in owca. he was already selectively mute but yeah being traumatized doesnt Help. at this point he's still in owca schooling just now allowed to live w E bc she's an agent & hes skipping classes flunking etc. it takes a while for him to rly put effort back into living.

-on a more positive note perry wasnt completely alone in australian owca. he was friends w future agent kangaroo. he had a brief crush on him around the time perry realizes he's trans so theres a real (do i want to be him or do i want him)

-her & lawrence begin dating when shes 28 and they marry when shes 32. theyd been friends since she was 24 tho

-they have ferb 3 years later. she dies soon after.

-perry moves in lawrence and helps take care of ferb. lawrence somehow someway makes his way to america meets linda falls in love etc. i think perry & ferb go back in forth btwn the us & the uk.

-eventually obv lawrence & linda move in & marry. perry stays in the uk.

-he gets relocated to the us at some point & law+lin are like hey you should stay with us.

-in 2001 before 9/11 (this is for me ok let me get a few jokes in im aware they only had him for 5 yrs but he is 6 as a platypus) perry moves to the us. lives by himself in america for a year before moving in w the flynn-fletchers. (ferb obv knows perry but so do phin & candace. just to a lesser extent.)

-beyond that is very flexible. perry cld have only known doof since the beginning of the summer or since the moment he arrived in america. doesnt rly matter lol but if i did have to give a time id say theyd been nemeses for 3 years.

Jackiieeeeeeeeee the og hardhead i LOVE him. He's such a force he's unapologetic, he's passionate, he's confident to the point of stupidity. I like the little hints we get (and obviously way more than that recently) that yea he has been through some shit in his life and it does effect him, even if he's got a Face to put on and show to people, even if he has to get a lil self delusional abt it. bbg is holding things together with pins back there but he's still gotta be a ceo about it

I love his very specific brand of ventrueism i think he has a flavour all his own in that regard and as someone who isnt overly fond of the clan he does make me love them just a bit. The need for control as detrimental to his own health. And the encroaching on toreador industries just bc he can. Yeaaahhh thas a jackie. King.

I COULD LITERALLY TALK FOREVER ABOUT JACKIES PAST. He's genuinely been through a lot. being black and mostly on his own in the 1970's being a lil fruity and into politics. ourgh. and then his life as a fledgling. and as a young neonate to now in a clan not particularly known for their progressive ideas. Jackie is. a lot. and yet. here he is. indeed holding everything together with pins and pretending he's hot shit and everythings under control always and forever just dont question him too hard.

fun fact actually! on his sheet jackie has a flaw that hes disliked by toreador specifically cuz he encroaches on their territory and he is sooo bitter when he doesnt get invited to parties cuz he's a ventrue and nobody wants a ventrue around certainly not at a party.

I love him tho. he'll forever be my #1 lad. aint nothing greater than me boi jackie. hes so dearly beloved
