thoughts on totk now that iâve beaten it
under the cut bc of length and bc there is honestly a fair bit of negative stuff
i donât really think i can say that i liked totk.
itâs fine, itâs genuinely fucking incredible from a technical standpoint with ultrahand, recall, the three map layers and with how smoothly it ran for me. as a game itâs fine.
iâll start with the things i dislike and end with what i actually liked
i honestly didnât really like ultrahand? i disliked how much the game leaned on it, since so many puzzles and whatever just boiled down to âmake something thatâll workâ and it just... it was far too clunky for me to really enjoy using it, outside of using some of the same few designs for traversal. there were a few times when i could see what the game wanted me to do with ultrahand and the given zonai parts and sometimes it just... didnât work at all. more often than not ultrahand was frustrating for me to use so the gameâs reliance on it just made it into a chore sometimes.
in a similar vein the dungeons were serious letdowns. i mean, donât get me wrong, theyâre fine, they had good themes and (mostly) had good aesthetics and general looks and identities to them, but the fact that they were just... basically twenty-ish minute little things was kind of disappointing. i hate that they all had the exact same âgo hit x number of switchesâ gimmick. it really limited what you could do and fucked with the dungeon design, too. the only one where that really worked for me was the fire temple, which was my favorite overall. the water temple was especially dismal, with the least inspired look and just being an astoundingly easy experience. the puzzles in those dungeons were so awfully easy, too, especially since half of the time they just hand you what you need so you barely need to really assess the situation and put a plan together
i hated the water dungeonâs little mini-areas where you do a single piss-easy puzzle to automatically get your prize, i hated the wind templeâs god damn âpull a lever and get your prizeâ kind of puzzles, i hated how soul-crushingly disappointed i felt when i took a look at the lightning templeâs map and realized that every fucking floor had a singular room just for the switch puzzle. god forbid itâs as fun as the lowest level of that temple. i really miss stuff like mini-bosses or rooms where you have to do a puzzle in order to just... progress, i miss dungeons that i could get lost in or spend a while in or just had... something more interesting or some more substance so that i canât just breeze through like itâs a glorified shrine. most of the puzzles in those dungeons were simpler than some shrines i did.
i didnât care to do much exploration since there honestly isnât much motivation to explore the surface map if youâve already played botw, and the scarcity of materials this time really got to me, it took me a while to have a half-decent stock of materials, and i still had trouble not running out of stuff even though i was using amiibos to stock up on some things. the money situation was rough, too... a lot of things are cheaper to sell, but some armor is still really expensive plus you have to pay the great fairies to upgrade your equipment in addition to having the correct materials. that especially felt odd- having to grab a handful of (goddamn hard to get) lynel guts is hard enough to upgrade the soldierâs armor, but you want me to cough up 500 rupees, too??
(the scarcity of monster guts also got on my nerves, but iâll just chalk that up to just some kind of really weird difficulty thing. it was annoying until i tracked down the stronger monsters.)
the story is probably the weakest part of the game to me. itâs really hard to have a baseline investment when you donât care about these characters, anyway, and what i saw in this gameâs story still failed to endear me to hardly any of them. linkâs role frustrated me; he just comes off like a tool rather than a character this time through, he barely has any actual relevancy to the story segments beyond being the guy who can use the master sword and being the playerâs vehicle to get from point a to b in the story. the blank stare and limited emoting worked in botw because... thereâs a given reason for his lack of outward emotion in the past, plus he has no memory in the present. it makes sense. but this time around, heâs gotten memories in the years between this and the last game, but he just feels like a background character in most of the story beats.Â
he has no role in the memories and in the present just exists to gather some stuff for other people, he gets the master sword from zelda and then helps the other sages get their secret stones, but heâs barely addressed as his own character in the grand scheme of things unless heâs being directly spoken to. heâs just the swordsman capable of wielding the master sword and zeldaâs chosen protector as far as the story is concerned. he has no opinions outside of doing what heâs told and looking for zelda. at least not as far as i could really tell. at least in botw, the story directly concerns him, and itâs his story weâre following. this time around zelda and the sages seem like the most important characters, linkâs just... there, doing what heâs been told to.
the new sages are fine, none of them really endeared themselves to me, and i will say that making the player watch essentially the exact same cutscene each time you finish a dungeon was BAFFLING. they were long and you learned almost nothing new after the first one, and there was nothing done to make them very distinct to each individual pair of sages or their respective regions; at the very least, it could have been interesting to meet the ancient sages not in the exact same stone garden, but perhaps at the top of a snowy mountain for the rito, near a volcano or something for the goron, maybe in a shallow pool of water for the zora, and in the desert for the gerudo- but no, theyâre all effectively the same thing just with the speaking character swapped out with some minor changes.
(the sages themselves are a pain in the ass to use, having to chase them down to activate their power or accidentally activating a power when you donât want it; yunobo was honestly my favorite, but because i generally defaulted to having them all activated at all times, i had a lot of trouble with tulin blowing shit away from me when i was trying to grab it while midair. theyâre half-decent for combat)
i didnât really care for rauru or sonia, either. rauru in the present as a ghost was fine, he was kind of interesting and seemed to have changed from his time in the past, but he never managed to be a character i particularly liked. i wasnât really a fan of his... arrogance? or something in the past scenes, and he never really came off as very interesting. sonia was nearly completely uninteresting which is a shame since she has an interesting design, she just felt delegated to the role of supporting rauru and zelda and then dying to motivate them.
ganondorf is a character i was really looking forward to seeing, and it really fucking sucks that heâs so god damn one-dimensional this time! the story canât be fucked to delve into him beyond just giving us scenes that just tell us that heâs evil and wants to rule hyrule and get the secret stones and nothing else because fuck having complex villains, i guess. especially frustrating because within the game itself you can draw more interesting motivations up for him, but the game really just doubles-down on him being evil for the fuck of it and wanting to end the world because uhhhh... heâs evil donât fucking worry about it
the ignoring of the triforce in this game sucks in that way, too, because the way the triforce works and how it can grant wishes made it a much more interesting goal for ganondorf to attain, rather than some poorly-named âsecret stonesâ that do nothing more than just amplify power or something. it sucks how black-and-white this damn story is and how it seems like it just wants to do away with any possible nuance or gray area. no one but the bad guys or side characters are flawed in any actually interesting or significant way.
at least ganondorf was still the most interesting character in the flashbacks.
and then zelda, oh god ZELDA. i honestly really liked her in botw. i liked how you saw her as a flawed, insecure, pressured teen, and how you saw her struggles to relate to link and how she eventually warmed up to him. you saw her as a flawed person who develops and as someone who cares deeply about her friends and her duties and gets frustrated by her failings.
and then in totk a lot of her more interesting traits- her interest in sheikah tech, her excitement over field study and research, her more defining traits as this incarnation of zelda- are basically sanded down and sheâs just this perfect flawless princess with great power and an insanely passive role in the past beyond finally taking some kind of action after one of her friends dies and sheâs pushed to the brink. cool. great.
she has practically no flaw in totk. if anyone in the present talks about her, they have nothing bad to say and just want to please her and follow her orders, she is right in telling the gerudo how to train their troops she is right even when misheard to tell people to put themselves in danger and she is hardly meaningfully questioned when her imposter is doing very clearly suspicious shit. neither the story nor any of the characters wants to let her be flawed. sheâs just perfect in damn near every way and barely retains any interesting characterization she got in botw. there are some interesting snippets in her being a teacher and setting up memorials to those who died in the calamity, but thereâs hardly any more than that, and it makes it really hard for me to give a damn about her. sheâs not interesting this time.
the whole thing with zelda becoming a dragon too, is... itâs fine. itâs ok. but the fact that she turns back at the end with no problem whatsoever is one hell of a fucking misstep. why talk about draconification being forbidden for a good reason anyways if it doesnât actually matter anyways??? if you never actually see any of those fucking repercussions why even bring them up??? i really feel like it would have been more effective for there to have been actual consequences for zelda beyond just fucking flying around half-conscious for a millennium or whatever- have her lose her memory when sheâs brought back! there you go! thereâs the reason why draconification is forbidden! thereâs the thing about losing yourself! plus, zelda losing her memories as a result would mirror link having lost his memories in botw! that has so much more weight and significance then âoh uh ignore the warnings from a while back sheâs completely fine dw abt itâ i hate that sheâs back just like that without any of the consequences that the game suggests.
the dragonâs tears in general kinda just felt weaker than botwâs memories anyways bc youâre more just. watching stuff happen then actually learning anything. it has less characters and yet i feel like you only get to know like half of the important ones. like three of them are all about the same event. a few times they just replay parts of old memories in new ones. if they ever reference a past memory they just show you what theyâre referencing instead of leaving you to piece it together. just play the voices or something donât break the flow of things to play a clip of something iâve already seen.
plus the fact that totk... barely acknowledges that itâs a sequel to botw really rubs me the wrong way. i understand that loz is extremely loose with its lore, but totk is a direct sequel set in the same world a few years later, and yet the events and characters of botw have might as well been forgotten and its all either ignored, brushed aside, or straight up replaced by something else for no good reason. the continuity between these games is absolutely dismal and to see the different ways in which the events and concepts or botw are just... disregarded really just left a bad taste in my mouth.
just- i love good stories and worlds in video games, and while some games can coast by for me by feeling good to play, having a good and engaging story and characters is usually essential to my enjoyment of a game, and when i donât care about to the point of disliking the story and characters, and when none of the important areas are fascinating or distinct enough from each other, and when the game even fails to really reel me in with the gameplay...
i wanted to like totk, but it really just did not work for me. i just ended up feeling frustrated and disappointed and even sometimes bored with all of the major stuff and man. totk is really, REALLY, not for me, and it just left me wanting to play older zelda games instead.
...
HOWEVER! there were actually some things i really loved about totk! itâs not all doom and gloom! (well, not all doom, at least)
so! the music was great! not all of it really fit or made a lot of sense with the context in which they played or failed to evoke the feeling they were meant to, but the new tracks in this game were great! i especially love the first two phases of the fire templeâs theme, the depths music, and most of the new battle and boss themes. zelda games almost never fail when it comes to the music.
i did genuinely like the fire temple- yunoboâs ability was used the best in this dungeon, and it had the best five switches gimmick, i loved how you had to hit the gongs (sometimes having to construct a path to account for the weaknesses of yunoboâs ability) and how it then âscaredâ each of the five statues holding a part of the gate- it was very cute and fit in very well with the general feel of that part of the story. it was the best in terms of difficulty and complexity, but it didnât have the best boss- the lightning temple had the best boss, and i will admit that even if most of them were easy, i really enjoyed the mirror puzzles, as well as the process to unlocking the dungeon. the wind temple had my favorite visual identity and aesthetic, though, i liked it being a part of this old rito song, and how it was the most distinct in looks from the other dungeons.
the sky islands were honestly fun, even if they werenât all that interesting. getting to some of the harder-to-reach islands were some of my favorite times i had to use ultrahand, and stuff like the zonai forge island and the one orblike island with the mirror puzzle, and pretty much all of the more complicated parts of the sky islands were a lot of fun to explore and figure out.
being able to ride on the dragons was just really cool, and the fact that they come out of the chasms was fun.
the new horns for the monsters were cool, it helps differentiate the different monster strengths and i just thought they were really neat.
the quest with lurelin village was fun, even if the pirates just being monsters was a real let-down.
the stable trotters were also a fun bunch of characters, that was a good, new way to open up fairy fountains.
all of the new stuff with the yiga was really fun, like getting their outfit and being able to pretend to be one of them and learning the blademaster attack- so much fun it was so cute.
most of the new outfits are really good and useful, and while a bit janky and not that great, the house-building bit near tarrey was endearing.
while none of the main characters interested me, i really, especially liked tauro and yona and penn. for some reason they just appealed to me and i really wish they had bigger parts in the game because theyâre interesting and they have good designs and iâd really like to know more about them.
the underground gerudo shelter was pretty cool, to be honest, and the look of the caves was really cool.
i adored the proving grounds shrines- easily my favorite shrines in the entire game, i had no problem spending a decent amount of time in those kinds of shrines, they were fantastic.
the new ingredients and recipes and new weapons were cool.
the way you basically return to the area you started at on your way to ganondorf is pretty cool, that whole path is really neat.
ganondorf in general was a pretty cool boss, even if he ended up being kind of easy for me. the whole final boss sequence was neat.
by FAR, though, my absolute favorite part of this game was 100% the depths. the fact that there was just an entire second layer to the map that was the same size as the surface, just inverted and dark and filled with new bosses and locations... i spent hours down there without going back up to the surface and absolutely had a BLAST screwing around in the dark, lighting up my path with brightblooms and tossing together little vehicles with lights so that i could get to the next lightroot off in the distance. the depths was probably where i ended up using zonai vehicles the most, and it was honestly pretty fun to go around spotting and reaching every lightroot, coming across different mines and weird little landforms and coliseums and yiga camps. the music and plantlife and look of the depths were so good, and it really felt distinct from the rest of the game in a very good way. doing all of the lightroots and getting enough zonaite to max out linkâs energy cells was definitely a good move since it made finding shrines and dealing with later zonai machine stuff easier.
overall, tears of the kingdom was a severely mixed bag for me, and while there was stuff i did like, i donât think itâs enough to really get me to say that i really liked this game overall- after all most of the stuff i disliked was unavoidable parts of the games, and it definitely put a hamper on my interest in the rest of the time. totk is fine, but itâs really not my thing.Â
#i just- *slams head into brick wall* bro i did not have a good time with this game#going back to my silly little comparison point; totk was $70 and my copy of phantom hourglass was $70#$70 is a bullshit amount for a game but thats no the point here#totk from a technical baseline standpoint as a GAME is worth $70#its story and the amount of enjoyment it gave me was not worth $70 tho. the story and enjoyment i got from ph was more worth $70 to me#salty talks#loz#legend of zelda#totk#'zelda games almost never fail when it comes to the music' if you talk shit abt ph's soundtrack i'll kill you. i like the dungeon track#i partially have the shinji chair image saved for this but i did also initally save it yesterday when i finished nge#listen this was fine on a surface level but it just wore me the fuck down#link was just some flavor of stonefaced or surprised or determined in any given cutscene and like. idk. wasnt too interested in him either#look i know about the silly little dialogue options. still didnt do it for me#link getting his arm back only makes sense to me bc i got every last light of blessing and heart container and stamina vessel#the gloom in his body is 100% gone hes squeaky clean for me. whyd you take his shirt off tho. at least keep his hat. cant take it seriously#put him in the archaic set or smth his arm is fully visible that way at least and its full circle thats what he wears at the start#couldnt take the whole grabbing zelda sequence seriously bc i missed the (hold) prompt and link flew away lol#totk spoilers#also wasnt really a fan of most of the voice acting yeah sorry. kinda rough all around aside from like ganondorf and dimitri- i mean rauru#mineru and the rito sage were fine too ig. im not going to bother watching any vids or whatever to check again#riju and sidon were fine too#sonia was cool too but everyone else was a lil rough tbh esp with having to say 'secret stone' that name sucks shit#my switch died in the middle of the credits. i had like 25% when i started fighting ganondorf.#it died twice actually cuz i charged it for a few minutes and what like yeah 5% should be good and nope. died again#anyways whatever. im not giving it a rating im tired of this game i dont think i'll be replaying or even just touching it any time soon#music was top notch again tho. made me feel stuff more than the actual story did. cool ig#bitching abt totk

⥠tw: pregnancy symptoms. fluff, a lot of fluff. ⥠wc: mini scenarios ~3k total. ⥠coming next in part two â kisuke, shuuhei, shinji, ichigo, ryuuken â you can request for others.
đđ˘đłđđ§ đđ¨đŹđŽđ¤đ. The man that has everything planned, widened  his chocolate orbs once the unexpected happened. It didnât take him much to discover the truth, not because you wanted to hide it but because it was clear to him. Your body had changed; the little differences in your physique didnât match the characteristics he had studied so exhaustingly about you. Those werenât normal fluctuations in weight nor your cups size. But mostly, he noticed it on the way your hips slightly began to adapt to prepare for nine months ahead. Something that, inside of his own twisted thoughts, made his heart beat go faster. Â
The black tea he was sipping that morning fogged his glasses, he still uses them to read. However, the many technical and biological aspects of hollowification were set aside for as long as you watched through the windows of squad five on an autumn day. Sosuke took his glasses off and stood up, as always, in the only way he knows how to⌠dominantly, like there was nothing nor anybody above himself. Big hands reached for your hip bones, nose that traced a perfect warmth path from the crook of your neck to your ear. âHow many weeks?â he asked, because he knew. âI am not sure⌠are you mad?â you asked back, knowing this could potentially ruin his plans. âHmmâŚMadâŚ? How could I?â he answered. You watched his smile suddenly go from a smirk to a soft, soft expression. Sosuke melt, Sosuke felt like he wasnât as lonely in this world as he used to think he wasâŚ
đđŽđđĄđ˘đ¤đ˘ đđ˛đđ¤đŽđ˛đ. Mornings have never been really lively; those days in which he calmly sat on his special chair, drinking his tea while you still stay in bed suddenly got interrupted by a rather suspicious behaviour coming from you. Two mornings in which you ran to the bathroom covering your mouth were enough to set the alarms for the Kuchiki clan head. âShe is sick. SHE IS SICKâ he panicked. Not again, not again⌠ he felt once again the fright, the fear of losing his lover. Byakuya didnât need much more to ask you, however the idea of pregnancy -even for one of the most intelligent minds of the Seireitei- never crossed his mind.  By the third day, in which you thought you could run faster than him, his foot stopped the door from closing. âI called Dr. Yamada Seinosuke, he is coming to check on youâ those cold words sounded like an order, yet, he was as scared as a lonely child. Byakuya felt unable to express any other feeling, if any at all. All the progress he made, seemed to be lost in just a matter of seconds. His hands couldnât touch you; his arms couldnât hold you. Deep blue eyes had turned every shade of black, and once again he felt himself drowning into the deepest waters of his  inner world. âI am not sick, ByakuyaâŚâ you murmured, after washing your mouth with a soft smile and your hands over your belly. âIâm sure you can quite understand why I am feeling this wayâŚâ Oh, how to repeat the way those deep blue eyes suddenly became the colour of a summer sky.
đđŽđŹđĄđ˘đŤđ¨ đđ¤đ˘đđđ¤đ. You werenât nauseous. You didnât even notice at first. But he did. Somehow, without even knowing, every night in your sleep your hands reached for his and dragged them to your belly. It was as if you were asking him to protect something sacred. And he could tell a piece of his own soul nested in yours, safely resting, surrounded by the purest love. His long locks rained on your cheek, on that morning in which snow as white as them covered the green hills of the Seireitei. âI am sure there is something you need to tell meâŚâ he whispered, caressing your cheek with the softest kiss. âWh-wha-tâŚ.?â your lips began to tremble, many tears sprouted from your sleepy eyes. It was as if those words where the sudden revelation of something âyou didnât know you already knewâ âI will protect both of you, even if it might cost my life⌠you two will be always firstâ
đđ˛đ¨đŤđđ¤đŽ đđĄđŽđ§đŹđŽđ˘. He noticed something had changed the moment he came home and discovered you sleeping on the couch made into a ball. What is happening with his lively sweet doll? Why is she sad? What is going on? âHoney⌠what is going on? Iâm sorry it took me a little bit more to come back home, being the general Taicho keeps me a lot more busierâŚâ he sadly whispered in your ear, as he lifted you up and carried you to bed. The scent of his skin immediately brings a soothing effect to your unknown cause of anguish. You were a total mess of emotions that you couldnât handle all alone, and you didnât even know why it was happening to you. Shunsui put you in bed, and when he got inside the sheets you immediately snuggled against his wide chest. âI⌠I donât know why I am so sad, but Iâm so glad you are backâ you whispered, kissing a patch of slight caramel skin. His hands instantly landed on the crown of your head, pulling you closer, surrounding you with the type of paternal care and protection he had always had. âYou know, maybe it is that time of the monthâŚâ he dared to murmur, sure he was about to get a soft punch coming from you. Of course, not everything In a womanâs life has to do with her⌠hormones⌠You widened your eyes, blinking rapidly while looking at a clueless Kyoraku. âI⌠itâs- been- two monthsâŚâ your lips trembled. You suddenly realized that, while lost into nightly sex sessions with him, your period -nor Shunsuiâs cream pie kink- represented a problem to you. âYOU DONâT MEAN⌠YOU â AM I GOING TO BE A DADDY????? I AM GONNA BE A DADDY!!!! CALL ME DADDY, OK?â âShunsui, for the love of God⌠I need to take a test- we-â you giggled, still amazed and unsure but excited. Â
đđđ§đŠđđđĄđ˘ đđđŤđđ¤đ˘. Carrying every child he could find in the Seireitei on his shoulders, Kenpachi is the ultimate father. He doesnât even have to try. He never cared for your period, it never represented something that could stop him to love you and your body. In fact, the messier the better. However, those moments began to be absent, and he didnât take much to realize. During that spring night, in which he indulged in some sake with his subordinates, he suddenly popped a question to them. âOi, my woman hasnât got her period in two months⌠what the fuck?â Yumichika choked with his drink, while Ikkaku definitely spitted all the contents of his mouth in a violent motion. âTAICHO?â the beautiful Shinigami asked, once he had recovered the composure. âTAICHO⌠ARE YOU SURE?â he continued. âYeah. What is it?â Zaraki asked, confused by their sudden reaction -and honestly about to laugh at Ikakku turning red, even his head, from how much he was coughing- âShe could be pregnant, Taicho⌠are you gonna be a father?â Yumichika assumed, particularly amazed by how his captain was asking something so important and yet so obvious as if it was nothing. Kenpachiâs eyes suddenly turned from wild to more softened ones. He left the sake bottle down and stood up. With no words said, he left, leaving his subordinates astonished. A loud thump on the door, woke you up all of a sudden. You sit down on the bed, not sure whether to grab your zanpakuto or not until you noticed the topping huge silhouette of your brute lover. âKenny, the fuck is going on?â you ask, while grazing your right eye. âARE YOU PREGNANT WOMAN?â he asked, shouting, and desperately requiring for you to give him the truth. You gasp. You hadnât even taken a test yet and even if it was pretty possible, how did he notice? âHOW? I DONâT KNOW YETâ you told him, urging him to close the door. You didnât really want the whole barracks to know. Kenny sat right by your side and cupped you to his lap. âComeâereâŚâ he murmured, nuzzling on your hair. He was holding you with the care someone would have to grab a piece of silk paper. He scoffed, sweetly with his eyes shut and a big smile adorning his sharp manly features. âNhh⌠yes, yes yes yes!!!â he celebrated, ripping the most beautiful smile from your lips.
đđŹđĄđ˘đđ đđŤđ˛đŽ. âDr. Ishida, you have another patientâ his secretary informed him by the end of his shift. âI have received every kid on the agenda for the day, is it urgent?â Uryu asked, he was used to treating kids whenever there was an emergency. Some paediatric patients canât wait. âWell, is not urgent but the mother requested me with urgency that you please take a look at her babyâ she said, walking into his office with two papers in her hands. She handed them to Uryu who soon discovered the next patient wasnât even born yet. âBut⌠(secretary name), this is a pregnancy test⌠I am not an obstetrician I shouldnât- plus, whose tests are these? They donât even have the name of the patientâ the Quincy doctor stood up, a little annoyed and confused. âThe patient is waiting on the ultrasound room; she has been already connected to the heart monitor by Nurse Inoue. Just please give the preggo lady a look. She specifically requested for a check-up by Dr. Ishida Uryuuâ the secretary said, giggling and leaving the room as fast as possible. Uryuu remained silent for a few minutes, listening to those accelerated heartbeats coming from a few doors away. Even if he is a peadiatrician, OB and Neo are also located in the same floor as his, in his fatherâs hospital. He smiled sweetly, the sound of a new life thriving to become a beloved child in some months always melts his heart. He should go back home soon, but he couldnât help it⌠there was something in that sweet beating melody that put a big smile on his face and called him to listen to it for a longer time. He put his coat on and thought of texting you âIâll be home in a couple of minutes, just an urgent consult and Iâll be freeâ but he didnât. He thought you were tired of excuses and him coming home late. Cleaning his glasses, he entered the ultrasound room, presenting himself without taking a look at the patient immediately. âGood afternoon, Iâm Dr. Ishida. The secretary told me you request- (Name)âŚ?â he stopped his words, discovering your barely bumpy belly and the sound of that heart coming from within you. âGood afternoon, Dr. Ishida. Would you like to meet the love of your life?â His eyes become waterfalls, Uryuu couldnât move for a couple of seconds. He then, sat right by your side and with a soft peck on your lips, he whispered a heartfelt âThank you, my loveââŚ
đĚđŹ đđ¨Ěđđ.
There was a time, where things were different. Where Ăs didnât feel pain, nor loneliness. A different outcome, where his body cured and the first steps out of that hospital were given holding her warm hand in his. No pain, no war, nor powers, nor Kings. It had been difficult to adapt for him; he didnât know exactly what it was to make love. But he learned, naturally, by the calling of his heart and his needs. He also didnât know what it was to love and be loved, but he discovered he didnât need to try with you. And slowly but surely, a new family of you and him, happened. âDo you think I could be a good father someday?â he asked, while playing with your hair on a very orange sunset in the garden of your little house. âYou wanna be a father, Ăs?â you asked back, a little surprised by the right timing of his questioning. âI am a little scared⌠well, not a little⌠I am afraid of not being able to be oneâ he answered, looking right towards the fiery clouds of an autumn afternoon. His paler complexion, kissed by the dying sun rays, reminded you of those days in which it was too painful to be touched; and how hope was all that it was needed to progress. You look towards the crunchy leaves underneath your feet, and then grabbed his slim cold hand. âFollow me inside, there is something I need to show youâŚâ âMy dear Ăs, I am about to grant you with a big power right now. Would you accept it?â you ask, covering his eyes with a black face mask that had been hanging there since covid. âWhat- yes? But what is it? You are scaring meâ he murmured, confused. âGive me your handsâ you ordered him, depositing something fluffy on his palms. When you took off the mask off his face, his black orbs fixed on the white pair of booties on his hands. âThisâŚâ âI am giving you a very strong power, the âFâ one⌠Ăs, you are gonna be a father⌠a fantastic fatherâ

Haikyuu men as fathers pt 2.
Part 1, Part 3, Part 4
Ft. Kuroo, Tendou, Atsumu, and Tsukki.
Decided instead of babies I wanted to do slightly older kids! :)
CW: Indication of pregnancy, relationships, marriage and some angst for tsukkiâs
Enjoy lovelies <33
âŚâŚâŚâŚâŚ.
Kuroo Tetsuro:
âNap time! If my two munchkins donât go to take a nap, the nap time monster will come out!â He hears little playful shrieks from his son and daughter.
âBut Daddy, I donât want to!â His daughter whines. A soft smile arose on his face as he bent down to his 6 year old daughterâs level. âMommy will get mad at me if you little nuggets donât go lay down.â Kuroo covers his eyes and pretends to cry. His son comes out of nowhere and starts trying to comfort him. âDonât cry daddy! Umiko and me will go lay down! Come on sissy, we donât want daddy to cry anymore.â 6 year old Shinji drags his twin sister to their room.
As soon as heâs sure theyâve turned the corner a lopsided grin appears on his face, âworks every time.â
He is a dad boss no questions asked
You need a break from the kids? Heâll take them to the park and get all their energy out
For the first couple of months of their lives you would have to drag Kuroo out of their room because his 6â2â ass would get in the crib and sleep with his babies
He DEFINITELY took some time off of work to be there for you and the babies
He always makes corny dad jokes (most likely about science) âWhy are chemists excellent for solving problems?â âŚ. âThey have all the solutions.â
omg he thinks his jokes are so fucking funny too (his kids learn the hyena laugh đ¤Śđ˝ââď¸)
Whenever youâre away he always sends pictures of what he and the kids are up to.
idgaf abt what you say, that man can COOK
Tendou Satori:
âYou canât tell mom I let you have chocolate before dinner, âkay?â He looks into his 9 year old daughterâs eyes waiting for her response.
âItâs our little secret!â She giggles and man is laughing contagious because Tendou starts to laugh too. You were working a little later than usual so Tendou picked up Mayumi even though it wasnât his day to do so. âWhat do you want for dinner, May?â
Her eyes widen at the statement. Which tells Tendou a WHOLE lot âDadâs cooking?!â She asks not because sheâs excited but because sheâs scared for her life. Tendou may be a chocolatier but this man is not a very good cook unless itâs pasta.
âNah, weâre gonna stop and get dinner before we go home. Dadâs gotta close shop though, so I thought Iâd ask so we can order.â
She hops off the counter and does a cute little dance. I mean.. itâs in her genes. âYouâre the best, Dad!â
He shakes his head with a smile, âoh I try!â
SO PROTECTIVE
The second he finds out someone was messing with his baby, he called the teacher and talked things out with her
He is a sucker for spoiling, you often scold him for it but he still does it anyway
He SINGS HIS DAUGHTER TO SLEEP>>>>>
He is the âouchieâ police, his daughter would always giggle but anytime she stubbed her toe on a chair or something heâd start talking to whatever caused his little girl pain and start scolding it (he knows it makes her feel better)
NOT a cook please he will burn the place by accident
Definitely ruined some intimate moments because instead of walking baby girl back to bed he gets dressed and offers to let her cuddle with you guys in the bed (after changing sheets ofc) (he wants his little girl to feel loved)
When she was a baby heâd call you every hour while he was at work to make sure you and the baby are okay
He almost passed out when the school called saying Mayumi broke her leg
He rushed her to the hospital so fast âdw baby, daddyâs here for you.â âI know it hurts princess.â
He went around interrogating the kids in her class thinking one of them pushed her, he was shocked to find out she climbed to the top of the playground and jumped off of it đ
Definitely got his daughter obsessed with frogs
Miya Atsumu:
âMamaâs gonna kill us! Whatâs yer last words?â He says in slight shock. His sons start crying thinking that you were actually gonna kill them.
âNot literally boys! Just⌠this mess- oh jeez.â He looks around bubbles and soap all over the floor.
Atsumu told the twins to âbe good and color âtil papaâs done in the showerâ and he came back to this. Dawn dish soap all over the floor and bubbles galore.
The cherry on top had to be that the dog was soaking in mixed berry juice because five year old Kosuke tried to pour himself a cup of juice.
âAlright! Câmon boys, we gotta tidy up before mama gets home!â You would be home in 2 hoursâŚ
They cleaned up the bubble mess, after being distracted like 10 times and having a few bubble fights.
Next was giving the twins a bath. Which proved to be harder than it needed to be. Kosuke was mad at Kensuke because he kept showing him his butt. Honestly, Atsumu had to keep himself from laughing.
âThatâs enough, Ken. Nobody want to see yer lil butt. Hurry up ân wash cuz papa still has to bathe Shoko.â Kensukeâs bad self is splashing water in the tub and itâs getting all over his twin. Kosuke doesnât like it so he smacks his brother and the latter begins to cry.
âDADDY, K-KO KOSUKE HIT ME, AHHHHHHH.â Atsumu rubs his temple. He all but freezes when he feels a soft hand kneed into his shoulder.
âSeems like you guys had a great time, Shokoâs covered in juice.â He turns his head to look at you.
âitâs not what ya think, hon!â You shake your head at him.
âKo, donât hit your brother. When papa is being annoying you donât see me hitting him, now do you?â He answers honestly, âsometimes you do⌠youâll punch papaâs shoulder.â
He got you there lol. âWell thatâs more out of love. Apologize to him and you,â you point to your little trouble maker, âdonât provoke your brother, got it?â He nods and goes to rub his eyes. Which is why he started crying for the second time because he got soap in his eyesâŚ
Anyway after their bath and dinner the boys were sent to bed. Shoko was bathed and you and Atsumu were laying in bed.
âI shoulda been watching them..â he admits. You agree. âYou live and you learn âTsumu.â
He had no idea what he was doing at first tbh
he can be a bit lazy w the boys sometimes but in the end he pulls it together
The type of dad to make you sit there and say cheese for 500 years while he tries to get the perfect picture
He was mad cuz he thought the twins loved samu more than him
he was sad when they didnât seem too interested in volleyball âAtsumu, theyâre five.â ⌠âStill!â
Impulsively bought a dog cuz his sons wouldnât stop talking abt having one
In the end he loves his boys very much and would do anything for them
Tsukishima Kei:
âI hate you mom! I really wanted to go!â Your 13 year old daughter slammed her door. She was angry because you didnât let her go to a dance some kid in her class was hosting. Itâs not that she particularly wanted to go, she was just mad that her 17 year old brother got to go out to his friendâs party.
Your husband emerges from his office, he adjusts his glasses and looked at you with curiosity. You sigh hugging him, âKei.. am I a bad mother?â He squeezes you in the hug, ânot in the slightest. Weâre doing whatâs best for them. Whatâs got her so upset?â
âShe wants to go to this party but I said no because I donât know any of the parents there. Also, Iâm just scared something will happen to her.â
He rubs your back in a comforting way. âIâll let her go-â you interrupt, âKei!â He gives you a quick peck to the lips.
âWasnât doneâŚâ you stayed quiet waiting for him to finish. He clears his throat. âAs I was saying⌠Iâll allow her to go if I chaperone. If she doesnât like that she wonât go.â He decided and you sigh in relief.
âIâll go order pizza. Can you talk to her?â He nods, âSupreme.â You roll your eyes at him and smile. âI know what you like dummy.â He playfully flips you off and you laugh in shock at how childish he is even though heâs past his prime years.
He walks over to Hanaeâs door and knocks softly. âGo away mom! I donât like you!â Tsukishima shakes his head. Heâs not going to tolerate her disrespecting you, the person who birthed her. He opens the door and sheâs on her bed with her headphones on and dried tears on her face.
âDadâŚâ She already knew what was to come. She knows he doesnât like when she disrespects you like that. âDonât say you hate her. Sheâs your mother, Hanae. It hurts her to hear those words come from your mouth.â She lowers her head and takes her headphones off.
âI didnât mean it..â her voice is small. Tsukishima handles the situation as he usually would, find the root of the problem (even though he already knew)
âWhat made you say it?â He sat on her bed and pat a spot next to him basically telling her to come closer. âUm.. I wanted to go to this dance a guy a know is hosting but she said noâŚâ her eyes didnât meet her fatherâs.
âWhyâd you want to go so bad?â He says bringing her chin up so she looks right into his eyes. He knows she hates it but direct communication is key, even facial expressions can reveal the slightest things.
âW-well. Ugh, why am I crying this is so stupid.â She pauses to wipe her eyes.
âYou guys let Akihiko go where ever he wants but I canât go anywhere! I hate it!â She turns her head away, Tsukki can hear the little sniffles.
âNot true. A lot of stuff that he went to when he was younger, he was chaperoned. We just barely started letting him go out alone so he can get a taste of real life. You can ask him yourself. Youâre only thirteen, donât rush it. Also your mother and I just want to protect you from dangerous situations. Your mom doesnât know any of the people there which is why she said no.â Tsukki is once again rubbing circles into someoneâs back.
âThere are so many bad people in the world and we just want to make you a little safer.â She turns back to face him, she scoots closer to her dad so she can hug him.
âIâm sorry.â She says through sniffles. âIâm not the one you need to apologize to.â She nods, âI need a minute.â He strokes her hair as she finishes letting it all out.
âI told your mother you can go if I chaperone you.â He explains after sheâs calmed down.
âDad, youâre gonna embarrass me.â She says with a giggle, tears now drying up.
âDamn right I will. Iâll tell all those hungry little boys that you eat your boogers and you donât shower for weeks.â He says with a sly grin. She frowns, âdad no!â
He pats her back, âalright kid go apologize if you really mean it.â You and your daughter make up and eat pizza together :3
VERY logical
also super protective
100% the kind of dad who loves his kids but puts his wife first
Heâs the bad cop parent while youâre the good cop parent
He loves family cooking night where you guys cook together
he will embarrass both his children in front of their crushes (and thinks itâs the funniest thing ever)
He just seems like the kind of dad to fall asleep and get colored on đ they give him a lil mustache and a uni-brow
I feel like he kinda always sides with Hanae for the most part bc he was a little sibling so he knows her pain lmao
he be bragging abt his kids âAkihiko is only six and heâs already reading flawlesslyâ âOh, Hanae already did that when she was threeâ
you wanted to delay the sex talk but like Tsukki was so blunt and just told them đ
Heâs always teasing you âIf you donât be careful Akihiko you might end up with someone as annoying as your momâ you just glare and he snickers
Such a proud dad and has a video of every one of his kidsâ firsts

and then i go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like...
dr ratio x fem!reader
(sorry if hes ooc i didnt know how to bring out his assholeyness on a first date withour having the reader standing up and leaving his ass)
pt. 2 of then afterwards we drop into a quiet little place and have a drink or two
four days before the date.
you made veritas feel icky. his sweaty palms disgusted him, his jumbled thoughts made him feel like hiding in his study and never leaving, and the way even thinking of you made his heart race made him feel like a fool.
so he did what he does best, and he studied. he worked his ass off. researched breathing exercises and studied the human mind. the feelings he'd read about before, ones he swore he'd never stoop so low to feeling, were now what he seeked to bottle up. not completely, for he is still a man. just enough to not feel like such an idiot.
for the next four days before you two planned to meet, he practiced. in front of mirrors, lying in bed thinking of you; he worked day and night to get back to his normal self. he even suppressed his giddiness and raging thoughts about you enough to get two good days of work in.
7 hours before the date.
ratio is a methodical man. he plans and he executes.
he did not plan to wake up at 3 in the morning the day of your date. and he canât get back to sleep. he's done his calming breathing exercises, heâs focused his muscle groups, hes counted sheep. he is NOT getting any more rest.
so now hes sitting on the edge of his bed, head in his hands like that one picture of shinji. a plethora of thoughts are racing through his head,
âwhat if i look like shit later today?
...iâll need to wear concealer with my eyeliner todayâŚ
...iâm so fucking tired.â
but it's mainly you. what if he messes up, what if he's too rude or snarky? what if you don't really like who he is, like everyone else?
3 hours before the date.
you know how in films the dorky loser main character practices in front of the mirror before talking to their crush? veritas seemed to take it to heart, as he's standing here, leaning on his sink counter, staring at his own reflection (which he spent the last four hours on) and practicing what heâll do.
his mind is organized and going over what heâll do (although he's heavily suppressing the jumbled nervous thoughts that are running rampant in the back of his head) but itâs okay! âcause this doctor has a plan..!
talk about her outfit
ask her why she was interested in you
⌠the weather ?
surely the conversation will flourish from there. yeah. heâs totally prepared.
30 minutes before the date.
of course heâs 30 minutes early. if youâre early, youâre on time. if you're on time, you're late. and if youâre late? donât bother showing up. that's his philosophy. although he's kinda hoping you donât show up early too. his deep breathing exercises will take at least another 20 minut-
29 minutes before the date.
shit.
he watches as you enter the cafe, nodding to the barista and looking for a table. he notices you noticing him. your eyes light up and you sent a quick wave as you hurry over. but- wait, just a second- heâs not ready! he hasn't even started his affirmatio-
âhey! i guess we had the same idea, huh?â you chuckle, situating yourself and your bag onto your chair.
uh-oh, heâs just staring at you again. well, that's actually completely and totally 100% your fault! he was in the middle of DEEP-BREATHING. donât interrupt a guy when he's breathing deeply.
âyes. we did. my philosophy on punctuality is that if youâre early, youâre on time. if you're on time, you're late. and if youâre late? donât bother showing up.â he manages to get out. did that sound too snobbish?
âexactly! if youâre going somewhere, go with a purpose. even if that purpose is to get out as soon as possible, yâknow?â you rest your head on your hand and make some relevant motion with the other one.
that's good! that's really good. he just had a conversation with you, just like he wanted. okay, okay. what now? what were his points?... outfit, interest, weather. outfit, interest, weather. outfitâŚ
âare you going to order, veritas?â the sound of his own name from your tongue draws him back to reality. heâd like to hear that again.
âpardon me. yes, iâll just take a black coffee.â heâs curt and in the back of his mind he's still deciding which point to bring up.
âsoooâŚ. you look lovely. although i almost didn't recognize you without your alabaster head. i like it though.â you say, making small talk. he didn't mind it with you.
âFUCK she beat me to itâ is what heâs thinking.
âthank you. you look beautiful, as always.â oooo he got you blushing and kicking your feet.
you let out a curt giggle at that, âso, why do you wear that? the alabaster head.â you cock your head to the side a little. you cutie patootie.
âi canât bear to see idiots. of course, they wouldn't want to see me either.â he replies, matter of factly.
âtheyâre surely an idiot if they don't want to see you.â
haaah. veritasâ collar feels tighter and his head's getting hot. how's he supposed to react to that? do you have no shame?
and then he implodes because of your overwhelming beauty
okay guys i gotta be honest i have no idea how to conclude rhis ....so idk and then you guys bone or whatever you want âşď¸
a/n - i'm so sorry about rhe ending gang but i quite literally could not think of any way to end this and ive been putting it off for weeks so i knew it wasnt getting finished.... whoops! đ¤

Dazai Osamu is in your bed, and he demands love, protection and cuddles
Self-Aware! Dazai Osamu x GN! Reader
Description: You really should have think twice, before giving kids "Clifford, The Big Red Dog" book and ask Dazai to look after them.
|Next part | >
Follow up
Warning: OOC. English is my second language. Fluffy.
_______
You can't tell, for sure, how long you have been in a shower. But, you have a feeling, that it wasn't that long. Still, somehow, Dazai not only managed to get into your room. He also managed to stole your blankets, and hide them somewhere in a house.
"How?" was the only thing that you managed to say. You know, that you were supposed to feel angry, or, at least, irritated, but, you have your curiosity, and you want to satisfy it.
Dazai, dressed in his pajamas, and who was now laying on your bed, looked into your eyes. At least, tried. Because you, in return, try not to look at him.
"I have my ways, Iris Flower. So, listen to my demands, if you want to see your blankets again!" Dazai patted the mattress near him. "I demand cuddles, love and protection! If I didn't get them, you will never see your blankets again!"
You probably could go to someone else's room and ask to spend a night with them. Then, in the morning, go with Fitzgerald and buy new blankets, then ask Oda to help you install a locker on your wardrobe, where you kept blankets. For a few hours your blankets will be secure. Then Dazai will pick up the lock and everything will start again.
Dazai reached his arms towards you. His smug grin was replaced with a pout.
"Please, My Kind Iris Flower, I was searching for a sanctuary! Please, let me stay! And give me love and cuddles! Come on~ Look at me~!"
You rubbed your temples. You need to stay focused.
"Why do you even need to a sanctuary?" asked you, looking at your chair. It was a good chair. Interesting chair. You will look at the chair. And not at Dazai.
"WellâŚ"
__________
Earlier, today
__________
"Uncle Dazai, can you read us this book?" Sakura was holding one of the books you recommend Oda to get for his kids. Yuu, Katsumi, Kousuke, Shinji and Aya were standing behind Sakura, making their best puppy dog eyes. Dazai rolled his eyes, but took the book from Sakura. You asked him to babysit kids, and he will do his job perfectly. For you.
"Clifford, The Big Red Dog." Dazai read the title.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was the bad. This idea was on his mind ever since he started reading that book. Bad idea. And a golden opportunity.
Dazai smiles, looking at kids.
"Kids, you know, that Clifford became big, because Emily Elizabeth loved him so much? Do you want to help a red chihuahua pup became as big as Clifford?"
Kids eagerly nodded, waiting for Dazai's instructions.
______________
"You asked kids to pamper Chuuya?!" You turned your head towards Dazai, staring at him. Big mistake.
Dazai came to you prepared. He did his best to look adorable and cuddly. He brushed his hair, and it looked extremely fluffy. His pajamas have a cute cat paw print and looked cozy and warm. He was constantly doing a puppy dog eyes, pouting a little. You could swear, that Dazai apply something, to make his eyelashes look extra thick tonight. And on his cheeks. Otherwise, you can't explain, why he has blush on his cheeks. Dazai rolled on his back, opening his arms for a hug. He stuck a tip of his tongue.
He literally made a "blep face". Is it your payment for comparing Dazai to a cat?
"I knew, that Chihuahua Nakahara won't yell at kids~ And the opportunity was rare and golden! Yet, I didn't expect kids to get busted and told Chihuahua about me!"
Dazai smiles, closing his eyes. You probably should look away and broke the "Dazai's cuteness" spell. But you can't! His hair looked too fluffy! His chest looks too comfortable to lay on! He looked squishable!
Now, you will say no to him, you will get him out of your room and make him to deal with the mess he has created!
"Comfy, [Y/N]?" asked Dazai, stopping showering you with kisses. He was laying on top of you. His body pressed tightly against yours. You were trapped. You can try to wiggle out of Dazai's grasp, but he has you pinned firmly enough down that only a burst of effort could free you. And you don't want to hurt him. Or stop cuddling.
"Mhm" mumbled you, running your fingers through his brown hair. With your second arm around his waist, you move your hand down from time to time to dance across his side.
Dazai's grin became bigger, and he returned to showering your cheeks with kisses.
"Good. I can't let my benevolent savior be unsatisfied with cuddles."
Suddenly, Dazai rolled down from you, laying on the opposite side of your bed. He, asked, looking deep into your eyes.
"Now, it's your turn. Remember, I still hold your blankets hostage!"
He lay his head down, looking at you. His eyelids were half-closed.
"Be grateful, that you are cute." You huffed, getting on top of Dazai. Now you were pinning him firmly against the mattress. Dazai's quiet laughter was your answer.
You nuzzle against his neck, leaving a trail of kisses. Dazai's laugh end in a cough. You knew without looking, that now he was blushing again. You lift your body a little, so you can put both of your hands on his tummy, while having access to his neck and face.
Your hands roam around his chest and stomach, while you planted kisses on Dazai's cheeks, temples, nose, forehead and chin. Dazai left out a soft moan, before putting his hands around you, pressing you against him. Dazai turned on his, still holding you.
You two were laying face to face. Dazai's hold on you was firm. You can feel the warmth coming from him.
Dazai pull his face into your hair.
"Heaven..." whispered him. "True bliss..."
He yawned, pressing you even closer to himself.
"Thank you, [Y/N]."
You also yawned, nuzzling against his neck.
"You are welcome. Good night, Osamu."
In the dark of the night, quiet words were your answer.
"Good night. I love you."
Kazutora Hanemiya |°- crushing misunderstanding
|°-context: kazutora is crushing on you but he sees you and akkun walking together and assumes that you're both together making kazutora's heart to break not knowing that you and akkun are simply friends - mainly fluff not angst
final time line: 4th Division Captain: Kazutora Hanemiya Vice-captain: Atsushi Sendo (Akkun)
kazutora couldn't help but notice the scene that he had accidentally stumbled upon on, before he was gonna ignore it and think nothing much of it until he double looked and his heart managed to stagger in emotions, akkun walking with his school crush. kazutora's school crush.
despite akkun being Vice-captain of the forth division and them being good friends there's still things that kazutora doesn't mention and one of them being is who his heart flutters to.
his mind went to so many scenarios and reasons as to why, out of everyone it'd be you two who walk together and not only that but also holding little brown bakery bags, as if you both had bought a sweet desert together, and are about to enjoy it in each others company.
'no no no no no... their not though? are they?!' his mind was more than a mess
theres no other explanation other than your both either on a date or dating. or even worse, in an actual relationship. kazutora's mind went to so many lengths as he pondered and stalked you both, hiding behind corners, bushes and bus stops to wherever you both are walking to,
he was desperate to find out what was going on even though he knows he needs to let go and back tf up.
'akkun has never mentioned having a girlfriend though, let alone that he's talking to a girl...' that certainly reassured him a little but only for a few seconds when his overthinking took over again
'but maybe that's cause no one asked or mentioned anything! and here he is with the girl that I like, for fucks sake!'
he tried to get close to the both of you to try and hear what you guys were talking about but while doing so self awareness had hit him, he didn't want to get caught lurking around, if a bystander seen what kazutora was doing then a clear title would be placed on him 'stalker'
he kind of just stood there in the middle of the pathway, watching as the both of you walked ahead having your own little moment. it was like kazutora was a small puppy being cast out and away from it's owners. for a short moment he had grown upset, he accepted that him and you were never gonna be because Akkun has already taken your attention.
when he took half a step backwards to turn around and not invade your privacy any longer, it was then that you had turned around making kazutora to be captivated. it wasn't just your beauty that had made him freeze and his heart to grow wings and flutter but it was you smiling and waving at him... him, kazutora, no one else, your eyes were stuck onto kazutora.
his heart was left uncontrolled and skipped all around his body whilst his main focus was to bite down the corner of the inside of his mouth to stop him from smiling like a little kid and getting all giddy for you just simply noticing him. it felt unreal to him in that moment that he had forgotten to wave back, and he was too busy on not smiling like an idiot that he didn't even smile back at all. well now he feels like a complete fool and should be shut out of society forever.
*inserts image of grieving shinji on a chair* -how kazutora feels right now
a whole week went by after that encounter, and since then in school kazu and you haven't had a full conversation, sure you've exchanged a few small words but then he'd cut it off with an excuse to leave all due to wanting to give respect for you and akkun.
before, the both of you would be talking non stop in the middle of lesson, being the teachers most annoying students that can't shut up and are always an nuisance to deal with. it's gotten to the point where after you both stoped talking even the teacher pointed it out Infront of the whole class, "some argument happened between you two?" like c'mon... why is it always those teachers that think they can get involved and think pointing things out to be funny. they get in-between everything.
it left an empty pit in his stomach not being able to talk to you the way he wants to. all because in this setting he chose to put his friends first before himself.
-- some time later ---
"so akkun, you got any plans with y/n?" asking that question hurt him more than it should have, but he needs to get over it soon enough. only after he gets an understanding at what stage the both of you are at. 3 month mark? secretly wishing.
"don't think so, why'd you ask?"
"nothing nothing, just curious. I'm surprised that she'd be with someone like you" it was supposed to come out as regular boy banter and laugh it off but instead he didn't watch his tone and grew blunt about it as if he'd meant it. in which he did.
it took akkun a few silent seconds to process his response and what kazu had just assumed "be with?" purposely ignoring kazutora's sudden burst of agitation and instead focusing on the question itself. "you think me and her are together... as in dating?"
"well you two seem to be quite close, no?"
"kazutora. no. were friends, full heartedly friends" while motioning his hands out to emphasize how baffling and wrong kazutora's question was.
if crickets were around the city they'd be loud, but instead all there could be heard was the click of kazu's tongue before replying "...Oh. shit"
akkun couldn't help but snort out a laugh, whereas kazutora on the other end was looking back and regretting everything which included ignoring you. but he had a good reason to, right? I mean how exactly was he supposed to know that you two were just friends?
many ways actually, sure, but he put his friends first and that's what had mattered, before at least. now, kazutora is trying to figure out ways on how to approach you without seeming like a douche for abruptly leaving and then coming back.
"wait, you like her??" it only then clicked into akkun's head making him perk up about why you even became a conversation topic.
"I bet she hates me" burrowing his face into his hands and feeling all sulky. didn't fully answer akkun's question but that small sentence answered a lot without meaning to.
"you do! you like-like her!" first time hearing about this and he instantly stood up from his seat, oh he was gonna have fun with this information. he can either tease the hell out of kazutora or help him out. but currently he'll torment him first.
"keep it down! dont need anyone hearing" lifting his head up from his hands and looking around the open area
"who's gonna hear? I'm not name dropping, or unless you're embarrassed" tormenting kazutora by making him think of you.
"of course not... maybe. but that's besides the point" kazu ended up explaining things from how he saw you and akkun but left out some details such as him following them to how things went with you and kazu at school.
"dug yourself a hole there I'll be honest, why didn't you ask me first before assuming?" -akkun
"didn't want to draw much attention on the subject"
"oh right right..." not right actually, don't exactly know what that was supposed to mean but didn't want to press on about it. after a short moment of silence it seemed like something was supposed to be done otherwise dragging the gap between you and kazu any further and it might be too much to fix. though luckily a little plan had settled into akkun's mind, after all he was close enough to you to be considered good friends. "I'll help you, don't worry"
~*Accidental mate; chapter 9*~
Here it is! Iâm so sorry for the wait đ It was one thing after another, but I digress! Thank you to everyone, (Anonymous readers too!) for your kind support and eagerness for this to continue. Special thanks to @clone-bar-79s for motivating me to finish this chapter!
"The good news is, you've got time. His next rutting season isn't for another six months, you've got time to come to terms with it, make a decision that's best for you"Â the joyful Cadence had returned to Urahara's voice, at this point you were positive it was as much of a disguise of his true thoughts and feelings as his hat and fan were. He was kindly trying to put you at ease, not letting his true concern shine through. More than you felt you deserved in this moment.
Letting your hands drop, shoulders squaring in mock determination, you raise your face to meet his eye. Fake it til you make it. "Thank you for telling me,". You raise to your feet, ready to accept your fate. Taking in a deep, soothing breath to steady your nerves. You needed to find Grimmjow. "I'll consider my options thoroughly"Â
Urahara jumped to his own feet, hands presented to halt your departure, apologetic look on his angular face. Hat still secure in his hand, he looked so much younger with his mop of blond hair on show"Actually, there's more you need to know"Â
More? You sat down heavily in your chair. You didn't think you could handle any more right now, you were still digesting the information you had just been fed, mind dizzyingly running though the conversation in an endless loop of uncertainty and guilt. You didn't know why you felt guilty, but it was there, heavily sitting in your stomach.
"If you were to decide to pursue a relationship with Grimmjow, there are some other factors you need to be aware of" Urahara disclosed as he rejoined you sitting down. You felt a little overwhelmed with the amount of information you had already been given, mentally exhausted with the drastic change in your life you were presented with. Though it did pique your interest, what else were you about to discover about the complicated Espada? "I'm sorry, I know it's a lot to take in"Â
Your face must have betrayed how you were feeling, given the sympathetic look Urahara looked at you with. You shook your head dismissively, it wasn't through any fault of his own. Your own gluttonous actions had lead to this fiasco. Yourself and Grimmjow. Your throat tightened slightly at the thought of you and Grimmjow together in the same sentence, a couple.
Couple of idiots, you snarkily reminded yourself. Might as well get everything out in the open now, to save you from any more unwanted surprises later down the line. "Now that he has mated, part of Grimmjow's instincts will have him wanting to scent mark you. Which could be problematic "Â
"problematic how?" You never realised how ignorant you were up to this point about Grimmjow's hollow side. You never realised it went as deep and animalistic as scent marking. Something you associated with mammals claiming their territory, hopefully he used another method than what you were aware of. You were pretty open minded, but you drew the line at Grimmjow pissing around your home. Or worse.
"While for the bonded pair, it can be considered rather intimate, for other hollows it's perceived as a warning... or a challenge"Â For the first time since you entered the room, you notice Captain Muguruma turn to face you, seemingly interested in this part of the conversation. Arms crossed over his broad chest, he leaned back to the same window ledge Captain Hirako was using to prop himself up. "I'm sure you're well aware of the Captains and Lieutenants who have a hollow of their own residing within"Â
You nod, eyes flicking to two of the captains who were visoreds , struggling to find the energy to participate verbally to the conversation yet. Shinji sent you a lazy wave, confirming what you already knew. You had seen first hand the blackening of their eyes, the inhuman warble hissing from the buff captains lips. Felt the chill run up your spine when his eyes locked onto you with a predatory gaze.
"The pheromones Grimmjow left on you can be smelt by the visored." Urahara explained, placing his hat back atop his head. Everything seemed to be falling into place, everything you had been confused about the past few days, running through your brain without answer finally being explained. Ichigo had told you that you smelt different, Grimmjow attacking him shortly after halted any further explanation. Subconsciously you breathed in deeper, trying to detect any foul smell coming from you.
Not as subtle as you had intended however, by the chuckle Urahara gave "You won't be able to smell it, neither can we" he indicated to himself and Kyoraku. That was somewhat of a relief, unimportant in the grand scheme of things, but you didn't relish in the idea of smelling.
 "Only hollows will be able to detect it, a survival instinct. It activates their instincts of fight or flight. The weaker ones, the beta's, will see it as a warning to avoid you for fear of getting into a fight with your alpha. For the stronger Alphas, they'll view it as a challenge"
"A challenge for what?" You almost didn't dare ask, not sure you wanted to hear the answer.
"To take you from him" Shinji interjected, tilting up his head to show off his smug grin. "To prove their strength, beat someone as strong as Grimmjow, steal his mate, become the most dominant"Â
Your mouth fell open, gobsmacked at the new information. This was why they were here? To what? Let you know before hand that they may try and take you from Grimmjow? You felt a little nauseated at the thought. You didn't want that. Didn't want to be seen as the objectified prize of some barbaric testosterone fulled game. Offended at the thought of being passed around by whom ever claimed victory. You wouldn't accept it. You didn't want Shinji or Kensei, you wanted...
"Don't worry, this isn't us warning ya ta lock ya doors or we'll drag ya off to our caves"Â Shinji's lips pulled at the corners,slowly dragging his eyes over your figure appreciatively. You fought the urge to cover yourself up from his lecherous gaze. Damn pervert. He was only joking, surely. Distasteful and outrageously unprofessional given the circumstances and his status, but he had better be only joking. "Though.."Â he gave you a scandalous wink when he finally made it to your eyes " I could be tempted"
"Don't be a prick, Shinji" Kensei snarled at his colleague, seemingly reaching the end of his patience with all his teasing. Shinji held his hands up in surrender before placing them in his pockets and leaning back against the window, sulkily rolling his eyes at his fun being stopped "was only teasin' "Â
Kensei rolled his eyes before focusing them on you. You shifted in your seat uncomfortably. While you didn't believe the head captain would allow any harm to befall you in his office, the large Captain scared you quite a bit. "Don't look at me with such a scared look on your face" he barked out the order, eye brows furrowed tightly. "We've got our hollows under control"Â
"Most of the visored have beta hollows," Urahara took over the explanation again, saving you from having to change your facial expression for the short tempered Captain "Shinji and Kensei are the only two in soul society with Alphas. There shouldn't be a problem with Captain Otoribashi or lieutenant Kuna. "Â
"Mines female, a lot easier to deal with then Kensei's." Shinji interjected, seemingly bored with the conversation now that he was denied his fun. You couldn't help but find the conversation fascinating. While you had heard the stories of Aizen's inhumane experimentation, Urahara's intervention and saving the hollowfied Captains and lieutenants, it was interesting in the way they described it. Like the hollow entity trapped within their own psyche, fighting to break out of their prison. "His is particularly aggressive.."
"An asshole is what he is," Kensei grumbled, cutting Shinji off from his deduction of the situation. Fixing you in his vision once more, he spoke with undeniable conviction "We have them under control, there won't be any problems now that we know what happened"Â
"It was just a bit of a shock the other day". Shinji added, pulling attention back onto himself. You felt like you were getting whiplash, all this back and forth had the muscles in your neck stiffening "Never expected ta smell Grimmjow on ya like that, nor the reaction our hollows had " By the looks on Urahara and Kyoraku's faces, they've already been informed about your encounter with the Captains a few days prior. It eased your worry somewhat, the conviction Kensei had when he said he had his hollow under control. You released a shuddering breath, soothing the burning your lungs with the length you held it.
"You're perfectly safe here, YN. I have no doubt that the captains can control their hollows instincts"Â Kyoraku spoke up, further soothing your worry. You trusted his judgment,he had proved his insightful deductions of situations to correct nearly one hundred percent of the time in your experience. He was a good judge of character. If he trusted the visored, then you could too. "The real concern lies with Ichigo Kurosaki"
"Ichigo?" You repeat surprised, you hadn't expected Grimmjow's sworn enemy to be brought into the conversation. You had just seen him. There was no reaction like what the captains exhibited. He treated you the same way he always had, friendly, relaxed. Though he did mention being able to smell you before Grimmjow attempted to knock his head clean off his shoulders
"Ichigo's hollow is still juvenile." Urahara picked up the conversation again, slipping easily back into rattling off the facts you needed to know "Though he is combative and defiant, he's not yet matured enough to want to seek out a mate, more interest in fighting for power over Ichigo. Given the history between Grimmjow and Ichigo, that could change once his hollow reaches maturity"
They were worried about it, you realised upon seeing the somber looks they all watched you with, waiting for your reaction. They were concerned not only for you, but soul society itself. There was no denying how incredibly powerful Ichigo was. No one had ever come close to reaching the level he had. The utter destruction he could cause if his hollow managed to break free and take over. The damage to soul society itself, the loss of life, the possibilities were staggering.
Grimmjow wouldn't refrain from doing something he wanted to do just because it may effect Ichigo. In fact you were pretty certain it would only make him want to do it more. Grimmjow's confidence in himself and his strength was bordering psychotic, he wouldn't care if Ichigo did challenge him. In fact, you believe he would welcome it whole heartedly, encourage it even. Idiot. He would fit in perfectly with the meat heads in the eleventh. He didn't care about the ramifications, so long as he got to thrive in the fight.
The subject would have to be brought up to both Ichigo and Grimmjow. You had the sinking feeling in your stomach, that you would have to be the one to convince Grimmjow to ignore his instincts and not mark you. If you decided to go through with it and be his mate. It would solve this problem if you simply refused to commit yourself to him, even though that decision would create problems itself. Your head was hurting, stress pinching the sides of your temples. It was too much, to many decisions falling on your shoulders.
"If Grimmjow can refrain from scent marking you,or we set up a plan for when he does, there should be little concern for ramifications". Urahara added to your silence. He could see your mind racing, thinking over all the possibilities of what you had just learned. He waited patiently for you to sift through your thoughts, silently watching as your unfocused eyes sharpened, to look him in the eye.
You had made a decision
"I need to see him
âââ
You walked in semi comfortable silence next to the eccentric exile, the clacking of his wooden foot ware against the stone floor, a steady beat to accompany his tuneful whistling. You appreciated the fact he didn't try to engage you in mindless chit chat as you followed him to his workspace in the outskirts of the twelfth division, Where Grimmjow was apparently staying until he was placed and housed permanently in a division. You just didn't have the capacity right now to pretend to be interested in anything Urahara could have to say to fill the silence between you.
Your mind was thick with all the information you had been given this morning. You struggled to sort through it, every question you had only leading to more questions, every solution met with an abundance of what if's and maybes. Ifs ands and buts attaching themselves to the end of every train of thought you rode on. You sigh mentally.
Remembering a time before Grimmjow forced his way into your life, with his aggressive nature and brash behaviour. When the only decisions you had to make were unimportant, mundane. Effecting you and only you. You couldn't believe how far away that seemed now. You hadn't even had the time to consider your own feelings yet. Grimmjow having invaded your every thought. Did you even like him? Well, no. Not really. His anger and snide comments annoyed you beyond belief. He was rude and infuriating, temperamental at best.
There was something there though, some pull you couldn't give name too. A niggling need in the pit of your stomach, Urging you figure out the puzzle that was Grimmjow. Wanting you to succumb to his unbending will, burn in his fiery passion. You were attracted to him, how could you not be? Handsome, strong. All the traits of a protector, a provider, that a millennia of evolution had you biologically trained to desire. There was something there. As much as you may want to deny it or ignore it, push it down and suffocate it until it no longer burns within you. It was there
A large hand settled on your shoulder, making you jump as it snapped you from your thoughts. Urahara didn't even try to hide the amusement on his face from your startled appearance. He nodded in front of you, getting you to see for the first time where you were.
"We're here" you sucked in a deep, soothing breath, releasing it slowly to rid yourself of the nerves threatening to shake you to your core. The hand on your shoulder squeezed comfortingly, departing with a tap "You'll be okay kid"Â
Urahara pushed on, trusting you to follow. Opening the door with more vigour than necessary, he walked into the darkend space. "Honey I'm home!" You slipped in behind him silently, inquisitive eyes taking in the space. It was a large room, dimmed from the afternoon sun, with a desk littered with paper. Organised chaos immediately sprung to mind. Empty bottles of alcohol messily strewn on the floor, filling the space with the sharp smell of their remains.
Opposite you was a worn couch, currently moulded around the source of the rumbling growl you could feel reverberating through your chest. Grimmjow laid facing into the couch, back turned on his unwanted guest "Fuck off"Â he grunted, curling in on himself, seemingly trying to disappear into the padding he was laying on. Arm thrown over his head, attempting to block out the punishing light streaming in from the open door, as well as the walking headache, Urahara.
Grimmjow Suppressed a groan, not ready to be rudely woken from his slumber. His throat was dry, scratching painfully around every forceful swallow he made in attempt to moisten the passage. His head thumped with every beat of his heart, every jolt a mercilessly cruel reminder of his rash decision making the night before. He didn't know what that freak kept in those bottles, but it sure as shit wasn't decent alcohol. Still he clung to the offered numbness it provided, willing himself to fall back into the black abyss.
"Come now ,Grimmjow," your eyes flicked to Urahara's back as he delved deeper into the room, approaching the temperamental beast with little regard to his own safety. Daringly poking Grimmjow in the back with the end of his cane, getting another growl in response "Remember your manners, we have a guest"Â
"You can shove your manners up your..". Guest? Grimmjow felt his skin tingle, senses sharpening instantly. He inhaled deeply, tasting the air in the back of his throat. Mixing gently with the starchy alcohol and the dust imbedded in the couch was something sweet, rich, like thick honey clinging to the walls of the hive of the bees that created it. Fresh and salty, like the wind dancing over the oceans surface. You. You who he had ran away from, you with your bewitching eyes, your ensnaring lips. Ignoring the protesting scream of his head, Grimmjow pushed himself away from his forgiving nest, jumping to his feet, determined to not allow the discomfort to flash over his face
"The fuck do you want?"Â He snarled at you, watching as your face betrayed your silly human emotions. Uncertainty, confusion, before settling on one he knew all too well, annoyance. He tried to glance at you sparingly, tried to keep himself from dissecting each and every aspect of your being, searching for the reassurance of your health. Your smell was tainted. Grimmjow could smell the musk of others lingering on your skin. He picked up the distinct notes of Urahara lingering on your clothes.
Another deep inhale and he picked up the signature of three others. The drunk, and the two who had acknowledged his claim on you. The discovery made his teeth clack together as his jaw tightened. Why the fuck were they all around his mate. Why were you looking at him, with pity.. and something else. Not quite fear.. but something he didn't recognise.
Eyes snapping to Urahara, Grimmjow snarled as he crossed the distance, chest rumbling with rising anger "What the fuck did you do!"
"Grimmjow.." Urahara's hand shot out to stop you from getting closer, halting your advance to calm him. Grimmjow roughly grabbed the lapels of his top, dragging him closer to the passed off Espada as he spit out the words "Why is she here!"Â
Certain you would heed his advice and stay out of range, Kisuke lowered his arms to placate the emotional man on a subconscious level. "The head captain and I thought it best to inform YN of the situation between you." Grimmjows eyes widened, fingers slacking on the bunched up material. "We explained about the bonding, and what it means for ..hurmft!"Â
The speed at which Grimmjow pulled back his fist and snapped it towards Urahara's face was impressive, if not for the unmanly exclamation of pain cutting off Urahara's explanation, you might've missed it all together. Almost instinctively you protested, scolding him with the disappointed use of his name, falling on deaf ears as Grimmjow pushed Urahara from his grip and into the desk behind him
"You had no fucking right" Grimmjow roared, fists shaking at his side with the surge of adrenaline coursing through his veins. Fixing Urahara with a dark glare, he kicked violently at one of the many bottles left forgotten on the floor, ignoring it as it smashed into the wall with excessive force. Chest swelling with frustration, Grimmjow pushed past Urahara, heading to the open door, not even sparing you a glance. "Fucking stay out of my business old man"
"Grimmjow" you reached for him, his arm slipping just out of your reach as he jerked it away, stomping through the open door. Ignoring your soft call, ignoring the indignant cry of "Old man?!" Muffled by the hand covering his bloody nose. Grimmjow needed to get out, If he stayed he was going to kill him.
You watch him leave, sighing as he slipped from your vision. Your head fell into your hands, momentarily blocking out the room and the shit show that just transpired. How you and Grimmjow were going to come to any sort of middle ground when he insisted on running away way beyond you. You let your hands slip from your face, disappointed with how that turned out.
"that didn't quite go how I expected" you mumble, disheartened by Grimmjow's disappearing act. It cut you deeper than you thought it would've, now that you knew about the bond.. it hurt to see him distance himself from you again. To reject you.
"Really?" Urahara asked surprised, gently running his fingers down his sore nose to ensure it wasn't broken " It went exactly as I had thought"Â
âââ
Grimmjow was seething. Rage coursed through his veins like lava, obliterating any coherent thought that wasn't tinged in anger.. Why the fuck were these damn Shinigami interfering with his business, with his mate! They had no right, no fucking right to tell you. They weren't hollows, they didn't have bonds, you weren't theirs! You were his, his mate, his responsibility. He was going to tell you. The right way, not fill your head with biased bullshit from shinigami who didn't know the first thing about him or his bond.
"Grimmjow!" He rolled his eyes at your call, not stopping in his desire to put as much space between you and that fool as he could. He needed a fight. A brutal, dirty battle, where he could let go, succumb to his unconscious mind, move and act without thinking, just reacting. "Grimmjow,"
Damn woman didn't know when to fucking drop it. Whirling round he scowled at her, arms folded defensively over his chest. Her cheeks were flushed.. delicate pink, likely brought on by the jog she fell into to close the distance between them. He could feel her warmth seep off her, radiating the space around her like the sun. It was pure and gentle, not brash and damaging like him. She stopped an arms length away, watching him cautiously. It pissed him off.
They each stood in silence, waiting for the other to break the awkward tension between them. Giving the other the opportunity to dictate the way in which this conversation would go, knowing that one misspoken word could result in vicious words being spat, one misjudged movement could have them colliding together in a rush of frenzied passion..
"What!" He snapped, having enough of her inquisitive stare. She had annoyed him endlessly with her fucking bitching and complaining, now she suddenly had nothing to say? He watched as your frown softened, eyes darting to the ground between them
"They were right in telling me Grimmjow. I needed to know.."Â you spoke softly, concentrating on how best to gently speak your mind. You couldn't let him bury his head in the sand and ignore it any longer. Something needed to be decided between you now, before his next rutting season came along. Grimmjow's eyes flashed with your words, not yet ready to let go of his annoyance of his privacy being talked about by a bunch of damn shinigami.
" I was going to fucking tell you! I tried!"Â Grimmjow snapped defensively, stalking closer to maximise the height difference between you. Intimidation was a weapon Grimmjow had used countless times, successfully, against bigger and stronger adversaries than the small woman basked in his shadow. So why was it that this woman was meeting his eye defiantly, not a shimmer or trepidation or fear showing on her face
"You've got to stop pushing me away, Grimmjow. I know now, so stop running away and.." Grimmjows fingers wrapped around your throat and stealing your breath. Pressure squeezing threateningly against the side of your neck, fingers twitching in warning. His hand trembled, you could feel the vibration against your delicate skin as his eyes burned into your own, darkly muttering inches from your face, hot breath dancing over your lips
"I don't run away from nothing" you instinctively took hold of his wrist, yet you didn't try to push him away. You could feel your blood pumping through your jugular vein, held prisoner against his dominating hold. It was a show, a display of strength of power that he so desperately needed to hold onto so not to submit to his own confusing contradictory impulses. You shivered at his dark tone, as black and as cold as the darkest of nights. You squeeze his wrist tighter, pouring out the light of understanding, the warmth of acceptanceÂ
"I know your scared" you were too. Scared of these confusing, consuming feelings you had never wanted. Scared of change, everything comfortable and safe being thrown into disarray . Scared you wouldn't be able to make it work, that you wouldn't be enough. Terrified that it would. "I am too.. Im your....mate."Â As quiet as it was, you heard the sharp intake of breath. You watched how his eyes widened, furious rage dulling behind his eyes. He's fingers loosening their grip on your neck by a fraction, startled by your acknowledgement, acceptance"we need to come together Grimmjow, work through this together, or you're going to suffer alone. I can't sit back and watch that happen"
"you don't owe me shit, I don't want your fucking pity" Grimmjow pushed you away physically and fugitively, creating distance from the hope you cruelly dangled in front of his nose. A life line, in the crushing reality he unknowingly made for himself. You were speaking from guilt, from some twisted sense of duty. He wouldn't let anyone pity him. You reached for his arm, stopping him from turning his back on you. You couldn't let him run away again, couldn't let him think you didn't care
"It's not pity." You had to get him to understand. He was stubborn and pigheaded, but you could get through to him. You had to. "It's not guilt. Grimmjow, talk to me"Â
"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!" Grimmjow screamed in your face, hoping to scare you off. Better you run now, than to pull him deeper into your Facade. Give him a sense of stability, lull him into a fabricated delusion of belonging before you pull it from under him and watch him down. You didn't back down, didn't even flinch at the display of crazed hostility.Â
"Nothing. I don't want anything from you but to try. Stop shutting me out"Â Grimmjow ripped his arm from you, pacing back and forth as he run his fingers through his hair as you spoke. Like a caged animal backed into a corner, comforting himself with what little freedom he had left. Clawing to it possessively, fearing you would try to take that too. "I just want a chance, a chance to see if we can make more out of this.. bond, than this... constant hostile back and forth!"Â
You were struggling to keep your emotions in check. You knew Grimmjow was impossible to reason with, challenging to engage with, with anything other than anger. You didn't want to fight. Didn't want to snap and resort to his default of shouting and snarky remarks. You knew he was struggling with what he was feeling, that he wasn't happy about this bond. But it was here, it wasn't going anywhere, and all this back and forth was grating on you. If you were struggling keeping your emotions in check, then Grimmjow was loosing the damn war.Â
"I don't know what the fuck you want from me woman!"Â he yelled in response, glaring at you with every pass he made with his restless pacing." I can't fucking break it! I tried!"Â
"Im not asking you to break it! I know you can't, and I know that you would if you could, you're clearly less than fucking pleased to be lumbered with me!"Â
"Then what the fuck do you want!"
"To talk! To get to know eachother, find some mutual understanding!" You shout back, disappointed in your inability to not resort to a shouting match. You took a deep, soothing breath. Pulling it as far down as you could before controlling the steady release, willing your annoyance to leave your body. "I thought we could start meeting up, go on a few dates and"
"Dates?" Grimmjow sneered the word, almost offended his tongue had to manipulate around the syllable. He scoffed, seemingly finished with his mindless walking around. At last.. progress
"It's when two people..."
"I know what fucking dates are!"Â That interfering old man told him about them. Offering unwanted, idiotic suggestions when all he wanted was a solution to end this infuriating bond. They sounded like they consisted of absolutely fucking nothing Grimmjow wanted to engage with. Flowers and holding hands. Fucking strolling mindlessly through fields while this bitch talked his ear off. Not this Espada.Â
Sure.. don't know how to use chopsticks but is well fucking informed on dates and courting. Urahara seriously needed to reevaluate his priorities in what to teach Grimmjow..Â
"I ain't gunna fucking coddle you. I'm not going to bring you flowers or listen to you cry about your damn nails and hair. If you want all that bullshit go date the old man! Leave me the fuck out of it!"
You were instantly offended. Trying to palm you off on another man for something you didn't even want. You had no delusions about Grimmjow. You weren't expecting romance or sweetness. You certainly weren't so shallow or materialistic to demand or expect him to pander to you. Even if Grimmjow refused to see it, you were a strong, self sufficient woman. You didn't need all that from another person, you were capable of providing it for yourself. What you did require was damn respect, honesty and the same damn commitment you were willing to put into this
"I don't want to date Urahara, you fucking idiot. I want to date.." your angry retort died on your lips at the surprise widening of his eyes, the anger slipping from his face almost instantly. Inhaling deeply, you decide to finish your unintentional slip strongly. No more games. No more tiptoeing around the situation. One of you needed to stop this ridiculous back and forth and start being honest, truly honest "you, I want to date you Grimmjow. I don't need flowers. I don't need gifts or for you to change to please me. I just need a mutual respect, and a willingness to try and see if we can develop our own feelings not dictated by your bond."
He stepped towards you, a hesitancy in his movements you had never seen from him before. Questioning eyes searched your face, piercing deeply into the emotions swimming behind your eyes. "Why..?"Â Searching for a hint of deception.. a sliver of hidden motives. All he could find was honestly, vulnerability. He didn't know how to deal with that. Everyone had a hidden selfish agenda. A selfish motive for everything they did. He had seen it time and time again, offering help if only it benefited you later.Â
"I don't know" you spoke softly, not a remnant of anger in your voice. Grimmjow scoffed, shoulders sagging with disappointment. He nearly fell for it, almost believed your bewitching lies.. you took hold of Grimmjow's hand, stepping closer so he had no choice but to look at you "I can't give it a name... this..pull that I feel. This feeling I get when I think of you, these reactions I have when I see you.."Â
 Grimmjow's mouth went dry, swallowing thickly as he listened.. heart thumping so loudly in his chest he thought it would bust right out his rib cage. The solidified need imbedded within the very fabric of his nature, that had been ripping him from the inside out, suddenly sparking wildly in his stomach as you voiced your want for him. Both your small hands holding his, caressing mindlessly over his fingers, mapping out the hardened callouses, your eyes watching your fingers dance over his skin..Â
Then you looked up, the purest of eyes, shining with vulnerability, need, desire. Looking straight though him, through his defence, his armour. His breath hitched in his throat when you looked at him like that, so open, so... honest
"I don't know what it is. But it's there. It's real, and it's growing and it's not going away. I want to know what it is Grimmjow.... I want to see what it could become "Â
Heâs walked through this door what feels like a million times already, but Akihiko finds himself hesitating outside of Shinjiâs room today. Heâs struck with the terrible, paralytic notion that yesterday was just a dream, and that when he walks into the room heâll find Shinji unconscious and unresponsive again.Â
Itâs an absurd idea to even entertain, let alone be so afraid of, butâ he really doesnât know what heâd do if that ended up being the case.Â
Akihikoâs wrestling match with his own irrationality is interrupted when he realizes he can hear voices coming from the other side of the door.
One of them belongs to the lead doctor for Shinjiâs case, talking aboutâ something. Akihiko canât quite make out what heâs saying, but he definitely catches the response.Â
âNo, nothinâ like that.â Akihiko would be able to recognize Shinjiâs voice absolutely anywhere, in less than a heartbeat. He knows it every bit as surely as he knows his own.
He leans against the wall and finally lets go of the breath heâd started holding.Â
Shinji really is awake. Akihiko hadnât imagined it out of pure desperation.
Now he has to actually work up the nerve to open the damn door. Itâs been all he could think about from the moment heâd left the hospital last night until this exact moment, but now suddenly the idea of speaking to Shinji seems as daunting as a title match. Itâs never felt that way before.Â
Yet another thing Shinji would laugh at him for. Heâs amassing a collection.
Well, since Shinjiâs doctor is here, Akihiko figures he ought to be polite and knocks instead of letting himself right in. When he does, the muted conversation on the other side of the door grinds to a halt.
âWho in the world could that be this early?â
ââS probably Aki. Dunno anyone else who wakes up at the aâ the crack of dawn like he does.âÂ
He exhales, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. Just hearing Shinjiâs voice again smooths down some of the prickling edges of his nerves. This can still be salvaged.Â
Hopefully.Â
âYou can come in, Sanada-kun.âÂ
Akihiko steels himself before he opens the door, and he still feels nearly bowled over when Shinjiâs eyes meet his. Seeing them open yesterday was emotional enough when Shinji could barely keep them focused. Now his gaze is alert and aware, fixing on Akihiko with the keen scrutiny that heâs come to find so familiarâ itâs almost overwhelming. He very nearly chokes, though at least this time the universe shows him a little mercy and he doesnât make any embarrassing noises.
âUhââ God. He needs to get a hold of himself. âSorry for coming by so early.â Akihiko shuffles inside and closes the door behind him.
Shinji snorts quietly and looks away.Â
âItâs no trouble,â The doctor replies mildly, though Akihiko has a feeling heâs a little annoyed at being interrupted. âWe can continue this conversation later then, Aragaki-kun?â
âSure,â Shinji shrugs lightly. Akihiko has no idea what they were talking about, and itâs really not any of his business to ask. He steps out of the way and takes a seat in a nearby chair, as the doctor takes his leave to give them some time alone. Akihiko appreciates it, even if it does feel a little awkward at first.Â
âNever known you to be so sheepish.â Shinjiâs voice cuts through the silence.
âNever known you to censor yourself like that,â Akihiko shoots back immediately. Despite the circumstances, all heâs been through these past two weeks, all his apprehension and hope and the nausea-inducing slurry theyâve blended intoâ despite everything, itâs still as easy as breathing to slip right back into their familiar, bickering rhythm.Â
âYeah well, the doc doesnât appreciate âprofanityâ in his hospital.â Shinji rolls his eyes. âHis words, not mine.âÂ
âWhen has that ever stopped you before?âÂ
âWhen heâs got the same glare as Sawashiro-san.âÂ
âHe canât be that bad,â Akihiko laughs. Out of all the matrons whoâd been at the orphanage, Sawashiro-san had been the most intimidating by an oceanic margin. Sheâd practically been a boogeyman to the younger kidsâ and the older kids, however much they would have denied it. She had never been cruel, at least not in hindsight, just ruthlessly strict. And after all this time, even Shinji still canât say her name without an honorific.
âGo ahead and try swearing around him then,â Shinji returns. âSee for yourself.âÂ
Akihiko folds his arms and scoffs amiably. He will not be doing that.
He feels so much more relaxed now than he did when he first walked into the room. He wishes he could keep things like this, continue to bask in the simple camaraderie of nostalgia.
He knows he canât.
Avenger! Rider!
Both of you! Take your armor off and put your weapons down if youâre going to speak like this.
Salieri, look Constantine in the eyes if youâre going to say that.
Constantine, take the armor off, this isnât war right now.
There was a moment of tense quiet, a battle feeling as if it could break out at any moment.
There was still a Command Spell preventing the RIDER from directly disobeying- and unlike the amount of prodding it took him to circumvent it with DRACO- that resolve wasn't present here. He took a step back, folding his arms, eyes narrowing. The AVENGER wasn't under that same pretense, taking another step towards the RIDER with a clawed hand raised, his body burning with wrathful mana.
Still, the lack of a proper decision was a decision in itself.
SALIERI: "...It's always 'later' with you all. You all refuse to act when it counts. Not until it's too late."
He lowered his hand, slowly.
His words were like barbs, and the only thing he left behind as he vanished. His magical energy faded from the hotel room. There was a collective exhale, before eyes fell on CONSTANTINE.
He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. Before he could say anything--
KUKULKAN: "Is it really that hard of a choice? When have the Paladins been anything but fair and friendly to us? Isn't it right to be fair to them?"
She folded her arms across her chest, biting her lip.
KUKULKAN: "âŚI don't think I understand humans at all."
With a shake of her head, she walked past you, jade-colored hair fluttering behind her as she strode out the door. CONSTANTINE held out a hand towards her.
CONSTANTINE: "Invader? Hey-- Kuku, please wait!"
He jogged after her, before stopping, turning around briefly.
CONSTANTINE: "âŚContinue with the planning, we have to use our time wisely, so this isn't adjourned. Simply update us on your decisions."
With that- he ran after her, slamming the door behind him.
The room settled into a uneasy silence.
NERO folded her arms, leaning her hip against one of the chairs as she pinched the bridge of her nose, her brow furrowing. A migraine was coming on, probably.
NERO: "âŚLet them be, all of them. We still have work to do."
GIUSEPPE: "Right. Let's at least be a little productive- have an immediate next step, at minimum. If we're not sure how to approach Charlemagne, then let's turn our focus purely towards intel-gathering. How should we go about that? There's meeting with Assassin, splitting our numbers and performing recon, there's even speaking with Charlemagne himself or one of his paladins... we're not strapped for options."
~~~NEW UPDATE~~~
(I'M A DUMBASS WHO DOESN'T KNOW HOW TUMBLR WORKS SO IF YOU SAW THIS ALREADY NO YOU DIDN'T)
I'm glad people liked my 4ăłă KINGS post so much lol. I love spreading the word about obscure lore :)
Under the cut I've responded to some of my favorite tags, given a little more backstory into the source of these pictures, as well as posted a few new ones :D
There's also a question at the very bottom that I'd love to hear opinions on, but no pressure if y'all don't feel comfortable answering ^w^
You're welcome >:D
Same, bro. I was basically thinking that the entire time I was reading these books lol
I feel like I should give a little context to these comics and where they come from lol. I wasn't very clear about the backstory in my original post. I do agree, when I found these, I thought they were super important, too, particularly because I don't think a lot of the fandom knows about these books lol.
The Danganronpa 4ăłă KINGS anthology series was published in the early 2010's featuring a bunch of different artists. The series is 4 volumes long and published by Spike Chunsoft, meaning, while these aren't necessarily canon, they ARE official :)
There is another series of anthologies in relation to both the first and second games, but I don't have those.
The first two volumes of this series is relatively well documented. There are sites where English translations have already been added to all of the comics in them (I'm pretty sure), as well as some screenshots popping up on places like Pinterest.
The third and fourth installments, however, are really poorly archived. The third has some content from it floating around, but it's hard to come by. The fourth had almost no information on it no matter where I searched.
I say this because a while ago I found the ONLY pictures of the Mastermind!Taka comic on this really old Tumblr blog from 2014 and REALLY wanted to figure out what it was about. (Didn't help that I couldn't read some of the bubbles in those photos.) First I searched for an English translation (there wasn't (so I'm working on one hehe)), then I tried to find which book it was even from, and NOTHING!
These books, since they were in circulation around 2014-ish, have stopped being printed, so copies of them are very hard to come by. Luckily, I was able to get my copies from a kind stranger on Ebay :)
-NOW-
Here are a few more pictures that I thought were funny/interesting that I couldn't add in my first post because of the picture limit lol.
Sorry for the really long post, I just thought it'd be interesting to share :)
Here's the page of artists that contributed to this anthology! Please go check them out (or see if they have any socials since it's been so long). Some credits change per volume, hence how many photos there are. (And sorry for my hand, it's hard to hold these open lol.)
You've probably all seen the covers, but have you seen what's behind the covers? (Also including the opening illustrations. These have probably been posted online already as well, but they're worth including imo.) (Again, please excuse the fingers, I'm trying my best ;-;)
^ Sayaka came with a smudge :( she still pretty tho
So, uh, remember when I said Hifumi made ship fodder? ......Here it is. Eat your heart out lol
Also remember when I said that Mondo's hair was fluffy and bouncy? Here's the proof:
Sakura has been de-buff-ified twice LMAO
ALSO remember when I said Syo was a fan of BL? ...... :)
ALSO remember when I said Kyoko was kinda socially awkward?
(Context: Kyoko sees Kiyotaka and Mondo calling each other bro and, thinking it'll strengthen their bond as well, calls Makoto "Makoto-oniichan," or "big brother Makoto" lol. Also, second picture says "I have come to save you, Makoto")
Chihiro Shinji chair meme
I'm at my picture cap, but there's a lot I haven't brought up lol
-SO-
For a different thread, would people like me to find pictures of certain characters? (i.e. just photos of the characters looking cool/hot/stupid without a lot of the text.) Because I am totally willing to do that :)
I've already got a lot on Byakuya, Sakura, Aoi and Mondo for all you simps out there, and it's not hard to find even more lol.
So lmk :D

Hospital Room
Shinjiro x Gn!Reader
~Spoilers for P3~
~~~
October 5th
Akihiko's pov
I was hesitant on entering the hospital room. I couldn't bare to see him after what happened the night before. I knew they were waiting in the room. Placing my hand on the handle, I paused as I prepared myself. Taking a deep breath, I slide open the door to reveal Y/n laying their head beside his body. My own body started to shake. It was hard to believe this was really happening. They haven't moved from their spot since we admitted him last night. I wasn't even sure if they've eaten anything. "Y/n?" I spoke their name softly as I approached them. No response. As I got closer, I realized they fell asleep, with their eyes all red and puffy from crying. Their face beginning to look all pale and sickly. I sighed. They've never been so distraught before. In battle, they've always has a cool head, but now, they're a mess.
I pulled up a chair beside their sleeping body. Shinji asked me to look after them, but I should of known what he meant by that. I should of put it all together sooner, but I guess it was his choice after all. I shook my head as I tried to not think so deep about it.
I looked down at their sleeping form. Their face began to contort into a discomforted look. My eyes widened as I wasn't exactly sure what was happening with them. Are they okay? Their breathing started to get heavy as sweat glistened their forehead. Suddenly, they shot up. "Shinjiro!!" They screamed his name as they were in a panic. Heavily breathing as they looked at Shinji, seemingly check to make sure he was still there. They looked sadly upon him since he was still in a coma.Â
"Y-y/n?" I spoke their name softly, hoping to not spook them, but they tensed up a bit so I may have a little bit. Their eyes were so dull and lifeless.Â
"Akihiko-san!" They seemed very much surprised that I was here. "How long have you been sitting there?" They asked embarrassingly as they looked away from me.Â
"Not for long." I told, hoping they wouldn't be too mad or anything, but instead they just nodded and silently looked back at Shinji. The silence was a bit unbearable, but I wasn't sure on how to interact with them. Their old personality was nowhere to be seen. They've become almost sort of an empty husk. "Maybe we should go out and get some fresh air." I suggested, trying to help in some way. They just shook their head as they continued to stare at Shinjiro. I frowned as they was being quite difficult, but I can understand where's coming from though. They loved him a lot and now he's on the verge of never waking up again. They must be pretty perturbed about him, that fear must be very high for them.Â
I placed a hand on their shoulder. "Y/n." I was very stern with them. "Shinji wouldn't want you to just sit around and mope." I started, hoping this would be good words of advice for them. "He's want you to try and continue living and right now, you're not doing that. He's still going to be right here whether you sit there or not." I stood up from my seat as my hand fell off their shoulder. "So I'm heading out to train for Shinji's sake. If you wanna sit around and mope, then so be it. " With a quick turn of my heels, I headed towards the door. I hated being harsh towards them, but I'm hoping it does them some good. I paused as I placed my hand on the handle, waiting to see if they'd react. Nothing, I shook my head and sighed. "Thought you were better than tha-"
"Gyagh!" Something slammed against my back. I held my back as I turned around. The only person who could of done it. The look in their eyes changed. They were filled with something I've never seen from them. I couldn't exactly tell what the look in their eyes were all about, but they were determined at the very least. They were filled with a mixture of emotion, I could tell that, though.Â
They crackled their knuckles as they glared at me. It felt like sharp daggers pierced through me. It felt like ages before they finally spoke. "I will destroy every last shadow." They asked, which my eyes widened. This was not the same Y/n from before Shinji was hospitalized. They've became something else. "And I will kill Strega." My heart dropped as my mouth fell agape. This.. Malice over took them. The look in their eyes! Pure hatred.Â
My hands moved on their own as I landed a hook against their cheek. As I reeled my hand back, I noticed that they seemed unfazed by what I just did. "Do you even hear yourself!?!" Yelling at them, I gripped onto their shoulder.
They slapped my hand away. Another glare shot pierced me. "Akihiko." They seldom call me Akihiko. This was all wrong. "I cannot stand by and let any more of my loved ones die because of me." Their voice was so aggressive and filled with guilt. This wasn't them. "I must fight on." They took a step past me, towards the door. "I will fight on-"
I gripped onto their shoulder and forced them to face me. "You're being a damn fool!" They needed to be knocked out of this. "Do you really think this is what they wanted!?" Trying to use some logic for them to realize how they were acting. They didn't respond back. "There's no way in hell either of them want you to act like this!!" I furrowed my brows as I softened my grip on their shoulder. "Shinji wanted me to look after you, and that's what I'm going to do!" Still nothing from them. I bit my lip as I began to feel tears well up, looking to the ground. "We lost Miki. We lost Shinji. I know damn well I can't deal with another loss." My voice cracked.Â
I glanced up to see their face contorted into tears. They were trying to hold them back, but they soon began to slowly pour out. "Aki." They coughed out as they tried to wipe away the tears, but the tears were persistent. "I-" Their voice cracked. "I can't take this anymore!" A quick outburst. "I have to leave-"
I gently grabbed their hand. I gave them pleading eyes, showing them I didn't want them to leave. "Please don't do anything rash." My voice was soft, trying to get a little promise. "Promise me that you won't put yourself in harm's way." Now I was begging as I pulled them closer to me, wrapping my arms around them. "Please. I don't want to lose you, too." I whispered softly as I buried my hand into their shoulder, squeezing them like they would be gone after I let go.Â
Their arms sneaked their way around me. "I'll be careful to not put myself in harm's way." They quickly promised me. "But you have to do that same." I nodded.
"I will." Their arms squeeze me tighter as they dug their head into my shoulder. "We have to live. For them." I added on so there'd be some pressure on us. "They'll never forgive us if we throw our lives away, you got that?"They nodded with a affirmative hum. Pulling away, I kept my hands on their arms. Silence fell upon the room. "Well." I cleared my throat as I removed my hands off them. No words came out of my mouth. The two of us standing there in silence. Our eyes darted around the room.Â
"I hope Shinji didn't hear any of that." They mumbled as they rubbed the back of their neck. They were trying to get a much more livelier vibe to the room.Â
I crossed my arms. "I know you're just trying to distract yourself." Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to. I've definitely haven't been the best with dealing with this.Â
They sighed. "I know." They grumbled as they crossed their arms. "It's going to be hard for the two of us." I frowned as they weren't wrong.Â
There had to be something to help us get through this, even if for a moment. Then an idea popped into my head. "Let's get beef bowls." I tried to put on a smile as my throat lumped up. Great, more tears.Â
They put on a small smile as they turned towards the door, placing a hand on the handle. Silenced filled the small gap before they spoke up. "Y-yeah. Like old times." Even though they weren't facing me, I could tell that there was tears forming in their eyes. With a quick wipe using their arm, they got rid of tears and opened the door. I followed behind them as the two of us went to get beef bowls.Â
While behind them, I noticed their legs were severely shaking. "Woah! You aren't walking there without some help." I wrapped an arm under theirs. They just rolled their eyes and allowed me to help them walk there. So my suspicion was right; they hadn't ate anything for awhile. I just shook my head as we continued our path.
I smiled down at the floor as we walked.Â
I'll bring one back for you, Shinji.Â
You, too, Miki.
I'm sure you would of have enjoyed that place as much as we do.
Even before he opened his eyes, he offered me that wide, genial smile that seemed so out of place on his six foot tall frame. It was a smile that hid nothing, as honest and unguarded as youâd expect from a ten year old finding out heâd just unwrapped the exact gift heâd wanted for his birthday. âI wasnât sleeping,â he got to his feet, âFigured Iâd wait for you here rather than risk you coming and not knowing how to reach me while I was hauling stuff upstairs.â
head in my hands. first of all what do you mean he's six feet tall if he's six feet tall he's not even remotely a foot taller than taylor like wildbow initially said pick a consistent height. second of all he likes taylor SO much....like he just unwrapped the exact gift he'd wanted for his birthday :( hes excited shes here hes so excited he came downstairs to wait and help her find her way because hes a polite little man. and he's HAPPY. he's still happy. shinji chair posing. he's happy. He doesn't fucking know what's coming.picture of my little boy ten seconds before disaster. god i cant believe he doesnt even know he likes taylor when his reaction to her showing up is to start Beaming. man. god. brian laborn
aoba johsai <3 lover
hi hereâs some songs from taylor swiftâs lover album that i think match each seijoh pairing :))Â
iwaoi <3 lover
i mean câmon
itâs IWAOI ofc they get the title track
âand youâll save all your dirtiest jokes for me / and at every table, iâll save you a seatâÂ
AHSJDJ itâs them !! they donât even have to say anything, if thereâs a chair open next to iwa/oiks, everyone automatically knows who itâs unofficially reserved for
âand iâm highly suspicious that everyone who sees you wants youâ
^ i think this covers both oikawaâs natural jealousy as well as how iwaizumiâs watched time after time again as countless amounts of people crush on his tooru
just the term âloverâ for them. i think itâs the word theyâd use in the timeskip when describing their âsecret relationshipâ during interviews, it reveals as little as possible about the âmystery personâ while still properly communicating just how important they are :)
matsuhana <3 itâs nice to have a friend
makki and mattsun genuinely have no fucking clue how they got together, they just sorta slowly shifted from being friends and doing friend things to doing boyfriend things and being boyfriends
bc of this they just picked a random ass day as their anniversary and just rolled w it
matsuhanaâs so interesting to me because theyâre friends to lovers like iwaoi/kinkuni yet each of them is a different FLAVOR of friends to lovers that i canât quite explain but i love em
âsomething gave you the nerve / to touch my handâ
THEY!! YES! doing all their coupley shit all the while saying âitâs nice to have a friendâ even though they both realize itâs faded into something much more
âtwenty questions, we tell the truthâ idk they just seem like theyâve never lied to each other before bc theyâve never had any reason to hide what theyâre feeling
kyouhaba <3 afterglow
*deep inhale* OKAY thereâs a LOT !
it should be noted that literally so fucking many of the other songs fit them but i want something slightly kinda happy pls :â)
i really love this song and itâs portrayal of arguing w your loved one and then taking the time afterwards to apologize and take accountabilityÂ
and there are so so many kyouhaba fics where they fight and then make amends (although i still think there should be even MORE)
i just love them having so many feelings and not enough ways to deal w them and the vulnerability when they own up to their mistakes and AAHHHHHHHH
âi donât wanna do this to you / i donât wanna lose this with youâ and âhey, itâs all me, just donât goâÂ
(^ examples of them being VULNERABLE AND OPEN)
also âtell me that youâre still mine / tell me that weâll be just fine / even when i lose my mindâ
i am normal about them! (lie)
side note i like how when perusing the seijoh couples gallery you just see âchildhood friends to lovers!â, âbest friends to lovers!â, âpals to lovers!â, then you turn the corner and see the most aggressive, tension-fueled enemies(?) to lovers pairing youâve ever seen for no goddamn rhyme or reason
kinkuni <3 paper ringsÂ
paper rings has a childlike whimsy that suits kindaichi & kunimiâs relationship perfectlyÂ
half of the lyrics seem like things kindaichi would say to kunimi w full earnesty too
âiâm with you even if it makes me blueâ and âwrap your arms around me, baby boyâ !!!
(kunimi calls it âcornyâ, kindaichi calls it âromanticâ, both with dumbass, lovestruck smiles on their faces)
âi hate accidents except when we went from friends to thisâ is 100% kunimi though, he doesnât like surprises and events that require him to exert extra effort, but for kindaichi? heâs more than okay with it
the whole song is just so sugary sweet and shamelessly adorable and at the end of the day thatâs what kinkuni is! (at least behind closed doors, bc they get embarrassed sometimes)
and bc i canât leave my boy out, it should be noted that watari shinji is a red man to his very CORE. you bet your ass on his twenty-second birthday he was blasting 22 like his life depends on it
#seijoh#aoba johsai#oikawa tooru#iwaizumi hajime#iwaoi#hanamaki takahiro#matsukawa issei#matsuhana#yahaba shigeru#kyoutani kentarou#kyouhaba#kindaichi yuutarou#kunimi akira#kinkuni#watari shinji#RAAAAHHHH !!!!
đŻ MIRAGES OF YOU ( A MINI SERIES ) â FEAT. BYAKUYA KUCHIKI & AIZEN SOSUKE â â
004 â sins of pride.
âByakuya Kuchiki, to what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?â
âRelease her from your grasp.â
âLady Kuchiki can choose for herself.â Aizen smirks, and Byakuyaâs fist collides with the wall, the sound echoing throughout the Central Underground Prisonâs lowest level.
âDonât you dare speak the name I gave her.â
âYou let Byakuya into Muken?â Your voice booms in the assembly hall, having barged in on the Captainâs meeting currently taking place in the First Divisionâs barracks.
âLady Kuchikiâ!â Soi Fon steps forward, eyes wide and almost bewildered at your outburst. âThis is neither the time nor placeââ
âNo!â You step forward, Byakuyaâs silver-white scarf gripped in your hand, the fabric draped loosely over your arm. âYou all gave my husband clearance to visit that monster.â
â(Name.)â Hitsugaya reaches out an arm to stop you in your tracks, and you shove his arm away, tears stinging at your lashes. âThis is very well the time and place!â
The Captains of the Gotei Thirteen are rendered silent, the sound of a wooden staff colliding with the floor beneath them rattles their entire being.
âLady Kuchiki.â Captain Commander Yamamoto addresses you from his chair, like you're some disobedient child and if possible, your blood boils just a bit hotter.
âWhy did you send him?â You scream. The Captains youâve fought with, dined with, made friends with, can do nothing but turn their heads and be resigned to shameful silence. âWhy him? Why?!â
They all remain silent.
And deep down, you shouldâve known better than to expect much, if anything at all, from them.
You know Byakuya. Youâve known him since you were a child. He goes where his duty calls him, where justice is needed, he always goes without question and you have never doubted his ability to hold his own. Not once.
But hours ago when you woke up to an empty bed, Senbonzakura sheathed atop the crumpled sheets where he wouldâve laid, you knew in your soul, that something was wrong.
It didnât take plenty to figure out where he had gone.
âCaptain Kuchiki came to meââ
âYama-jii, I swear Iâllââ
âListen to yourself!â Shinji shakes his head. Heâs known you long enough to know how you get in situations like these.
That stakes of life and death mean nothing once youâve found something truly worth fighting for. âIs this what Kuchiki would want you to do?â
You pause, sucking in a sharp breath, your gaze still pointed at where Yamamoto is seated. The urge to rip through everyone around you is too much.
As you stand here, swear this to meâ I need you to swear itâ
âYouâre all pathetic.â
âByakuya Kuchiki came to me and requested this.â Yamamoto leans back in his chair, frown deep and brows knitted, gaze downcast. âHe asked my permission and I could not deny him.â
Hitsugaya sees the change in your gaze before the rest of them do. Rage filled eyes morphing into a look of utter betrayal, and he steps forward again, reaching for your arm again, a little too late.
âYou son of a bitch!â The Captains flinch, and youâve had enough of this, not an ounce of apology left in your veins.
Have you not given enough?
Have you not done everything that was asked of you?
Maybe not. You were never the perfect cog in the system that was the Gotei Thirteen, nor Seireitei.
But Byakuya was.
You watched him sacrifice himself day after day â ever since he was just a boy. Things youâve never cared for such as duty, and honor and recognition by peers â he gave his all for those things.
For his pride. Youâll be damned if you let him sacrifice another.
Before you can step far enough to continue your array of insults, a hand is dragging you aside, âThatâs enough.â Toshiro pulls and you squirm against his grip, but in this state youâre no match for the reiatsu of a captain, let alone twelve of them.
âHitsugayaââ
âShut up.â
You freeze, and he tugs you out into the vacant hallway. The moment he releases your arm, you turn abruptly, teeth bared and eyes narrowed, ready to give him a piece of your mind as well, because how dare heâ
âWhereâs your honor?â He asks, piercing turquoise eyes staring straight at you, face stoic as if he isnt really looking at you right now, but at something inside you, something out of your reach.
Toshiro, of all the captains youâve become acquainted with has always been closest to you.
Heâs a child â at least in stature and attitude, but heâd grown on you the moment you met him.
He looks up at you and you feel a tinge of shame trickle up your spine â he, who idolized you, saw you as the marker for his motivation â he, who wanted to not just be as physically strong as you were, but to have a heart like yours.
âOr did Aizen Sosuke take that from you too?â
There are unshed tears in your eyes, your back straight. âIâve fought, and fought, Iâve alwaysââ Your voice comes out, a semblance of the strength youâve accumulated all this time. âSo why? Why couldnât I fight this too?â
Why had they sent Byakuya to fight on your behalf?
Why arenât you strong enough?
Have you just gotten weaker since that day?
âBecause it isnât your fight!â
You still, and for a second you believe youâre hearing doubles. Aizen Sosuke is your fight. It has been your fight since you entered the academy â since the day he sat beside you and asked your name.
It was still your fight that day in Karakura after you left Squad Zero, plagued by nightmares of Kyoka Suigetsu manipulating your memories. And it remained your fight after he cut you open, stabbing his zanpakuto through your chest, depleting your reiatsu.
So how? How is this not your battle?
There are different types of fights, (Name).
No, a fight is a fight â whoever wins gets to live, Bya.
You either fight to protect yourself, to protect othersâ
Idiot, it doesnât count, the second one is all of our duties as part of the Gotei.
âOr, you fight to protect your pride.
âThis has been Captain Kuchikiâs fight since the day you came back.â Toshiro speaks, almost pained, as if he knows something you donât. âWhatever happens tonight in Mukenââ
You donât want to hear him say this.
âKuchiki wouldâve fought to protect his pride.â
âHas she told you?â Aizen leans back, a single brown eye trailing across Byakuyaâs features. âAbout the dreams?â He canât help how the corner of his mouth twitches when Byakuyaâs eyes glint with distaste.
âRemove Kyoka Suigetsu from itâs hiding place.â Byakuya says, heâs not one to be taunted, nor is he quick to anger. Heâs been with the likes of Aizen before, he wants no part of his games.
âIs that any way to refer to your wife, Kuchiki?â
Byakuya squeezes his eyes shut, composing himself for a moment.
âYouâll do well to remember whose wife she is.â Byakuya slate gray eyes narrow, a pale index finger tracing along the holster of where Senbonzakura would be. Heâs left it to you, to protect you in his stead while he deals with this scum. âRemove your zanpakuto, I will not ask again.â
âFrom the mouth of the man who took her from me!â Aizenâs voice bellows through his cell and down the vacant corridor. âEven now, you canât see it â how could you? Youâve never experienced power the way we have.â
âEnslavement.â Byakuya growls, âEnslavement that you call power â power you subjected her to by force.â
âKuchiki, you dareââ
âI should thank you for that, Aizen.â Byakuya almost smiles, âIt made our wedding night all the sweeter.â
Aizen clicks his tongue, a dark chuckle leaving his lips.
Maybe, if he closes his eyes he can still see you, standing at that altar.
If he really wants to, maybe he can see your face as clear as he did the first time, in your weddding dress, older than heâd seen you the last time â before he made Kyoka Suigetsu alter his memory of it, until it became nothing.
âYouâre going to die tomorrow, Byakuya Kuchiki.â
âSleep soundly in my absence, Aizen Sosuke.â
Youâve been trying to dream for hours, slumped on the floor of Byakuyaâs study, back pressed against his absurdly tall bookshelf.
Aizen wonât let you reach him.
Byakuya hasnât come back to the manor.
If helpless was a person, it would be you in this very moment.
Your zanpakuto is hidden away in the drawer of Byakuyaâs desk, and youâre tempted to retrieve it. Tempted to go to Muken yourself and finish things the way you shouldâve all those years ago.
It isnât your fight.
Youâre exasperated, hands reaching down to loosen the knot of your shihakusho, suddenly feeling too warm.
Byakuya will come back. Youâre sure of it. Heâs strong, at least, stronger than you.
Iâm only consenting to learn from you because youâre strongerâ
You think Iâm stronger than you?
I never said that, do not twist my words.
You really have a way with girls, donât you, Bya?
Never call me that again.
A smile twitches at the corner of your lips.
Then a buzz on the hardwood of Byakuyaâs desk, your eyes darting over to the find the source of the sound. Your cellphone â the one you gifted yourself through the HR Department, lights up in the dim room.
1 new voicemail.
From : Urahara Kisuke.
You donât think twice before you click play.
âWe were wrong about the soul partition theoryâ (Name), I need you to listen to me very carefully. I know what Aizen Sosuke meant when he said you two are connected. He hasnât split his soul at all â not like we thought before. Heâs severed a fragment of it, a part of his zanpakuto â heâs hidden it. And Iâm afraid to say ââ
Your blood runs cold.
âHeâs hidden it inside you. Aizen Sosuke has merged a segment of his zanpakuto with you. Kyoka Suigetsu â is inside you. It's been there all this time.â
does GL have tea parties with Elise and the other children-? Is Mori forced to join the tea parties-? When Mori cant make it who is substituted in for him or do they just leave his spot open?
They do.
Elise, Kyuusaku, Aya, Katsumi, Shinji, Sakura, Yu and Kousuke are having tea parties from time to time. And they often offer GL and other BSD Characters to join them. So, if any of the adults want to join them, they always have an open spot.
Some interesting bits about some characters:
Who joins often:
1. Guiding Light - will tell kids stories from the real world.
2. Oda Sakunosuke - he can be so serious, it looks funny.
3. Ivan Goncharov - he will take tea preparations upon himself.
4. Mori Ougai - will let kids braid his hair or make pigtails.
5. Ranpo Edogawa - need constant supervision, so he won't eat all snacks.
6. Kouyou Ozaki - she is surprisingly good with kids.
7. Akiko Yosano - will insist on more healthier snacks, but, won't spoil the fun.
8. Bram Stoker - will join, only if Aya present. Actually, quite good caretaker.
9. Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald - he was a father, so, he knows, how to host a tea party for children.
10. Kenji Miyazawa - just likes to play with kids.
11. Kyouka Izumi - she is on a quiet side, but, will gladly join the tea party.
12. Karma - keep an eye on kids during tea parties.
13. Fyodor Dostoevsky - will join only if you present and if he wants tea. A little bit passive, but, will let kids hide under his coat.
14. Nikolai Gogol - will make a little circus show for kids.
15. Fukuzawa Yukichi and Fukuchi Ouchi - will be bombarded with questions about their past.
16. Dazai Osamu - perfect, if tea party have a role play element. Will be overdramatic, but kids adore him.
17. Atsushi Nakajima - likes to play with kids.
18. Tanizaki siblings - Junchirou will make snacks and use his ability to live things up. Naomi is good at having a small talk.
19. Kirako Haruno, Louisa May Alkott and Edgar Allan Poe - a little bit awkward around kids, but, not against joining the game.
20. Sigma - it was a surprise, but kids always listen to him. Mostly joins for cookies.
21. Flags - good with dealing with kids, especially teens.
22. Ryunosuke Akutagawa - sometimes, can be a good babysitter. Will make a hammock from Rashomon for kids' entertainment.
23. Gin Akutagawa - better, then her brother. Will bring good tea.
24. Chuuya Nakahara - will join, only if GL are here. Will make table and chairs float. Not that interested in game itself, but won't spoil the fun.
Who won't join as often as they can:
1. Doppo Kunikida and Nathaniel Hawthorne - will join only if they are looking after kids today and there's no other adults. Still, they are good at playing along.
2. Katai Tayama - he is not good with kids. But, he will find cartoons or films for kids to watch.
3. Paul Verlaine and Arthur Rimbaud - join even lesser, then Kunikida and Hawthorne. Don't think, that they are good with kids.
4. AndrĂŠ Gide - doesn't think, that he deserves to join kids' game.
Who are forbidden to join:
1. Tetchou Suehiro - problem is in his eating habits. He did it a couple of times on a tea party and kids decided to copy him. Only Elise didn't get a stomach ache. Since then, Tetchou isn't allowed to join tea parties without supervision.
2. Alexander Pushkin - he is bad in controlling his tongue and will talk about something inappropriate. And we aren't talking about swearing. Pushkin might start talking about neighbors, and who were with whom. And kids are like sponges. When Sakura, after a tea party with Pushkin, start asking Oda and you, if your neighbor really doesn't know, who is the father of her children, and what clients she brings home, you two almost strangle Pushkin. He isn't allowed to interact with kids without supervision.
Who aren't allowed to join at the same time:
Karma, Fyodor and Guiding Light
Because, when Shinji invite you three, that happened:
Everyone: drinking tea
Shinji: talking to you I am so glad, that you three start spending time as family. Finally, you and Fyodor stop neglecting your son Karma.
You, Karma and Fyodor almost chocked on your teas. It takes five minutes for your three to start breathing normally.
Karma is scared and try to hide behind his tea cup.
Fyodor never looked that shocked before. He is looking at Shinji, but can't form a single word.
You were just trying to say something.
You: "Wh... Who? Us... Our? Whom?... Wh... What..? Karma? Ours..?"
Shinji: didn't realize, that situation became this Yes! You wanted to save Karma, and Fyodor did it. You two saved him. Like Oda saved us. So, he is yours now.
Tea party come to an end. Karma couldn't look at you or Fyodor for a week.
Osamu and Nikolai, who, somehow, learn about this situation, were teasing you and Fyodor about, who will be 'stay at home parent' and who will be a 'breadwinner' for the two weeks.
