I decided to take a serious social media break after the tiktok ban. I was devastated by the ban, then equally devastated that it became trumptok upon return.

I deleted it off my phone. I do have rednote, but it's not the same. I deactivated facebook and instagram. I am done.

I refuse to be sucked into an anxious angry hole for the next four years, like I was for his first four. I am terrified of the future now, so I have to take a break.

Instead of spending my time scrolling, I am focusing on learning new things, spending time with family and friends, experiencing life.

Here is what I've done so far!

I got a breadmaker for xmas. I am having the most fun with this thing! I have made four loaves so far, three white bread and one cinnamon raisin.

I joined Costco for the savings of bulk buying, and I have a new appreciation for cooking at home.

I am taking it back to basics, depression era shit. Baking bread, making hearty beef and bean soups, Rice and beans based dishes aplenty!

I look forward to dusting off my camera and going out into nature. I am excited to finally finish the half dozen craft projects I have started. I am itching to get my seeds planted indoors, in preparation for the spring.

We will survive a trump presidency. We just have to look inward. Stick together. We got this!

As a trans woman, im scared thinking of just how many other trans and non-bianary people have had accounts deleted on all of the big social media's recently. Im scared thinking about how we are still being silenced anywhere we try to exist, either online or in person. What will happen when it becomes illegal for us to exist anywhere? How far are the corporations in charge of our favorite social media's willing to go to silence us? How far are the governments of the world willing to go to silence us? What will we do then? Social media's can just delete any trans or non-bianary persons account and delete any post mentioning trans or non-bianary people. The government have already been sending police and military to break up demonstrations, whats to say they won't invoke more harsh punishments for us? Something needs to change. I realize this post will more then likely get my blog deleted, but then they will just be proving my point.

WE NEED TO STICK TOGETHER AND SHOW THEM THAT WE WILL NOT BE KICKED DOWN! WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED!

READ THE ENTIRETY OF PROPOSED LAWS‼️‼️ the worst thing you can be is uneducated and WRONG when it comes to a political standpoint. do not be the person that is defending a blatantly incorrect idea that has been spread across social media.

get to the point that you are CONFIDENT in your ability to prove someone wrong. do not let your voice go unheard.

So the election was a complete disaster and we’re all fucked. Great. What are we gonna do about it.

First thing’s first: let’s look at the bright side. Well, okay, the first thing you should do is cry and scream and grieve and stuff, but I’m gonna assume that if you’re reading this post then you’ve already done that. So, without further ado:

1. While yes, Trump is a fascist and he’s reading straight out of Hitler’s playbook, this is not going to be a 1-1 replay of the Holocaust. For starters, Hitler was elected by about 95% of the population. Ronald Rump’s numbers were much lower, at 50%, and the race was close, with Harris getting 48%. This means that unlike in Nazi Germany, there is a much, MUCH higher percentage of people that already hate this bastard (for good reason). This is good. We know the score this time, and while half the country may be content to sell it to a dictator, the other half is very much NOT. And based on that alone, our odds are much better than it feels like they are.

2. Ronald Rump is old, man, like super old. There is a solid chance that the job kills him before anyone else gets the chance to. Even if he does manage to pull another Hitler and get himself declared president for life, or whatever, it won’t last more than five years max. No matter how much money he shells out to Big Business, even he can’t bribe the Grim Reaper.

3. You exist. No seriously. This is unironically the most important point I can make. Screw everything else, if you have to, but the fact that you exist is incredibly important. We’re in this mess because bigots around the country are terrified of you. Yes, you. A random innocent person who happens to live in their general vicinity, and they’re shaking in their boots. Imagine how afraid they’ll be when you don’t back down? When none of us do? This election, this stunt they’ve pulled, it’s the last dying gasp of a hatred that is desperate to scare us all into compliance before it faces its rapidly approaching demise. And they know that.

They’re getting bolder, in the days following the election, because they think there’s no one left to stop them. What they don’t realize is that everyone is around to stop them. And I, at least, am done being afraid of them.

They may be louder than we are, but the tide is rapidly shifting. As they grow louder, so must we. As they grow bolder, so must we. For everyone they hurt, for every atrocity they commit, we must be there at the sidelines, scolding them, cursing them, and calling out their evil to the world. We must leave no action unreviled, no wicked deed unshamed. We must give them no room to breathe, no space within which to safely act out their hatred without fear of scrutiny. We must not allow them a single moment where they can forget that we exist. We must not allow them a single night of peaceful rest until these four years are done.

They want to be afraid? Fine. We’ll give them something to be afraid of. We will be there to scoff at them every time they say something bigoted. We’ll be there to bandage every wound they inflict on their children and ours. We’ll be there to remind the world that theirs is not the only way to live. We will remind them, every day, that we are not the ones who are trapped here with them. They are the ones trapped here with us. And deep in their blackened, withered hearts, they know that. They hate us so loudly because they are afraid of us. And this is what terrifies them the most:

We’re here, we’re staying, and they can damn well deal with it because we are NEVER going to leave.
