In today’s world of health-conscious consumers, sugar-free products have gained significant popularity. Among these, sugar-free drops stand out as an excellent way to indulge in sweet flavors without the added sugar. From maintaining blood sugar levels to reducing calorie intake, the benefits of sugar-free drops are multifaceted. This blog will explore everything you need to know about sugar-free drops, their benefits, ingredients, and the best options available on the market.
Why Go Sugar-Free?
Sugar consumption has long been associated with various health issues, including obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. In fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends limiting sugar intake to less than 10% of daily caloric intake, with a further reduction to 5% for added health benefits. For those trying to reduce sugar in their diet, sugar-free alternatives, like drops, offer a solution that doesn’t compromise on taste.
For people with conditions such as diabetes, sugar-free options are a lifesaver. They allow for sweet indulgences without spiking blood glucose levels. Similarly, those on weight-loss programs or following low-carb diets like keto can enjoy the taste of sweetness without adding extra calories or carbs.
What Are Sugar-Free Drops?
Sugar-free drops are small, flavorful candies or sweeteners that are crafted without added sugar. These drops often use sugar substitutes, which mimic the sweetness of sugar but with far fewer calories and without the negative effects of sugar. Available in a wide variety of flavors, from fruit to mint and chocolate, sugar-free drops can satisfy your sweet tooth while fitting into a healthy lifestyle.
Benefits of Sugar-Free Drops
1. Supports Weight Management
One of the primary reasons people opt for sugar-free products is to manage their weight. Sugar-free drops contain fewer calories than regular sugary candies, allowing you to indulge in the same great flavors without consuming excessive calories. This can be especially beneficial for those on calorie-restricted diets or looking to cut back on sugar consumption without giving up sweets entirely.
2. Diabetes-Friendly
People with diabetes need to keep an eye on their sugar intake to avoid spikes in blood sugar levels. Sugar-free drops, which use alternative sweeteners like stevia, sucralose, or xylitol, provide a great way for diabetics to enjoy sweet treats without the associated risks of high blood sugar.
3. Oral Health
Many sugar-free drops are made with ingredients like xylitol, which has been shown to improve oral health. Xylitol helps reduce bacteria in the mouth, preventing tooth decay and cavities. Regular sugary sweets, on the other hand, contribute to the buildup of harmful bacteria that leads to tooth damage.
4. Reduced Cravings
For those looking to cut down on sugar, sugar-free drops can help reduce cravings for sweet snacks. The drops provide the taste of sweetness without the addictive sugar rush, making it easier to stay on track with a low-sugar or sugar-free diet.
5. Low Glycemic Index
Sugar substitutes like stevia, erythritol, and monk fruit have a low glycemic index, meaning they have little to no impact on blood sugar levels. This makes sugar-free drops a safe choice for anyone wanting to maintain stable blood sugar.
Common Sweeteners Used in Sugar-Free Drops
Sugar-free drops rely on sugar substitutes to provide their sweetness. Here are some of the most common sweeteners used:
Stevia: A plant-based sweetener that is naturally calorie-free and much sweeter than sugar.
Xylitol: A sugar alcohol that is often used in sugar-free chewing gum and candy. It is known to improve dental health by reducing cavity-causing bacteria.
Sucralose: An artificial sweetener that is 600 times sweeter than sugar and contains no calories.
Erythritol: A sugar alcohol that has zero calories and doesn’t cause a spike in blood sugar levels.
Monk Fruit: A natural sweetener that contains no calories or carbs and has a glycemic index of zero, making it a popular choice for diabetics and those following keto diets.
Popular Sugar-Free Drop Brands
Here’s a list of some of the best sugar-free drops currently on the market:
1. Halls Sugar-Free Cough Drops
Halls offers a range of sugar-free cough drops, which are ideal for those seeking throat relief without the sugar. These drops come in flavors like honey lemon and black cherry, offering a soothing, sugar-free alternative during cold and flu season.
2. Werther’s Original Sugar-Free Caramel Hard Candies
Werther’s Original is known for its rich, buttery caramel flavor, and their sugar-free version is just as delicious. These drops use isomalt and acesulfame potassium to replicate the sweetness of sugar, making them a favorite for caramel lovers.
3. Ricola Sugar-Free Herbal Drops
Ricola offers a range of sugar-free herbal drops that combine natural herbal extracts with sugar alternatives to soothe sore throats. The flavors, such as mixed berry and honey lemon, are refreshing and free from sugar.
4. Altoids Sugar-Free Mints
Altoids’ sugar-free mints are perfect for freshening breath without any added sugar. Their peppermint and cinnamon flavors provide a burst of freshness, and they use sorbitol as a sweetener.
5. Brach's Sugar-Free Lemon Drops
Brach’s Sugar-Free Lemon Drops are tangy, zesty candies with a satisfying lemon flavor. Made with sorbitol and stevia, they provide the perfect sugar-free solution for citrus candy lovers.
How to Choose the Right Sugar-Free Drops
With so many options on the market, selecting the right sugar-free drops can feel overwhelming. Here are a few tips to help you choose:
Check the Sweetener: Different sugar-free drops use different sweeteners, so it’s essential to choose one that suits your preferences and health needs. For example, if you’re sensitive to sugar alcohols, look for drops sweetened with stevia or monk fruit instead of sorbitol or xylitol.
Consider the Flavor: Sugar-free drops come in a wide variety of flavors, from minty fresh to fruity or even chocolatey. Choose a flavor that satisfies your cravings.
Look for Added Benefits: Some sugar-free drops come with added benefits, such as vitamin C or throat-soothing herbal extracts. If you’re looking for more than just a sweet treat, look for drops that offer extra health perks.
Final Thoughts
Sugar-free drops provide a fantastic alternative to sugary candies, allowing you to enjoy sweet flavors without the downsides of added sugar. Whether you’re trying to cut calories, manage diabetes, or simply reduce your sugar intake, there are plenty of options available. From classic flavors like mint and caramel to fruity or herbal varieties, sugar-free drops cater to every taste. By choosing the right sweetener and flavor, you can satisfy your cravings while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

IF if if you have the spoons... any tips or suggestions for a racing heart? It's at a gallop and I'm just sitting at my desk.
Obligatory: I am not a doctor and you should talk to a doctor. If this is a medical emergency go to your nearest ER.
Now that I’ve got that out of the way, I’m assuming you’re asking from a potential POTS/dysautonomia perspective because I was recently talking about it. If this is the case, the most common way to combat elevated heart rate is to lie down and elevate your feet above your heart so the blood stops pooling in your legs and your heart doesn't have to work as hard.
Hydration with electrolytes and a salty snack is also recommended as electrolyte imbalance and dehydration can make anyone’s heart go bonkers, not just us POTSies.
Some people find compression therapy helpful. I find midriff compression (think spanx) works best for me combined with compression socks. It helps keep my blood in my core. I also sit cross-legged at my desk as I find sitting with my legs extended causes my blood pressure to drop too much. Keeping them crossed while in an upright position helps maintain my blood pressure, and helps keep my heart from elevating too much.
If you drink a lot of sugar or caffeine, you might want to look into cutting down to see if it helps symptoms.
You can also get salt tabs for added electrolytes. Vitassium make plain or flavored ones, so it’s a bit more like candy instead of just eating salt, lol. They flavors do contain stevia though, just in case you have MCAS or other sensitivities.
If none of that helps you might want to talk to your doctor about better medication management.
If you don’t have POTS and this happens frequently, get yourself checked for anemia. It's easy for the symptom to get written off as anxiety, but it can be a warning sign of something else going on.
Hope that helps!

Oh yeah, so I got to finishing Cookies in Black the other day, and I’m gonna be honest, with this and the Astronaut stinger
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It feels sort of like they’re setting the next update up to be the next part of the Sugar Nova Odyssey story. Like what they did with the Schneeball/Marble Bread update and the Season 9 story
I mean it makes sense, considering next month’s November, which is the anniversary month, which from what I understand, usually has something important happen to celebrate, like the Legendary Treasure last year, or Millennial Tree Magic Candy the year before that. And they just did the Treasure, so the latter it seems to be
But also we just got Black Sugar Swan the month before this one, so I’m not entirely sure? But if not next month, then it can’t be the one after since that’s the holiday month, so it’d have to be January. Though maybe this’ll be a Special Season like with Choco Bar in March?
I don’t know, we’ll see in probably a few hours if it’ll happen or not
But in other news, the Astronuts mention a Planet Stevia, which I know from prior speculation is another sugar substitute like xylitol. So I feel it’s likely that Planet Stevia is going to be where one of the other Novas live, and a place we explore. Likely next Sugar Nova story, but it could be another one in the future

predestined to fall - a satosugu fic
aux: just the way it is, baby - the rembrandts
Tumblr media
credit: @soarnd
Satoru was callous on the best days, he just didn't seem to grasp the problems of others. He lived in his own little bubble, literally.
Infinity wasn't the only thing that separated him from others, it was his attitude, smirks, and being good at everything he had ever tried his hand at.
A ‘Suguru, look!” as he beat a world record in something he just started.
All Geto could do was smile and treasure his position so close to the god’s heart. Gojo's smile summer-warm in his palm as he held it to his chest.
Every touch they shared he held close to his heart, comfortable in the knowledge that infinity didn't apply to them.
Suguru liked to believe he was better than Satoru, having a shred of empathy for others.
He didn't, all of it was a facsimile to soothe others' jackhammer hearts. A stevia-sweet mask to cover the decay of himself.
He used proper addresses when talking to his superiors, he made sure to tip when he went to restaurants.
Maybe to balance his deeds?
-
To be The Strongest you don't have to be good people.
Everybody should have realized that.
Gojo was fighting and starving for approval hidden under a sugar-sweet sticky smile.
Geto held a bone-deep shivering contempt for the weak, opening up his palms with the patience and smile of a saint.
Yet no closer to god, but chosen nonetheless.
So when Satoru opened up his arms Suguru always ran into them, as they were destined to fall.
The sun peeling away their self-appointed godhood, falling onto the land of rejection and contempt.
They were doomed, Achilles and Patroclus style.
Every kiss a rush, the sultry rotten-strawberry sweetness of Satoru’s cursed energy worming into his mouth, returned with his tobacco-favored smile.
Doomed promises in dim kitchens sealed with nothing but youthful faith that everything will turn out okay.
Love does not come all at once, it comes in slow realizations over shared too-sweet taro boba. It comes from;
Midnight Waltzes in the kitchen fueled by convenience store candy, lit by dim fluorescent lights; Calloused hands through moon-pale hair;
Sparring all out and getting yelled at for property damage;
Favorite foods clumsily made by inexperienced hands, presented in the ugliest bento Geto had ever laid his eyes on.
-
'Weak' he spat at himself, love made people complacent.
It makes so much sense when your whole world is shrunk down to one person.
The binary of your hearts beating speak to each other in a language lost to the gods. Syncing up for that beautiful few seconds where you ceased to be each other and the edges blurred into someone new.
He knew at that moment if Suguru so much as asked Satoru would rip the stars out of the sky and present them with bleeding and broken hands, and Suguru would fall to his knees to bandage his wounds, chapped lips pressed to trust-fund soft wrists.
-
If they only knew what would befall The Strongest.
So much ahead of them, predestined to fall from grace.
Fallen angels are always the most powerful, revenge painting a powerful picture. Rage curling in parched throats.
He knew that he would fall out of the grace of god, just never so soon.
Summers still present in his mind, youth and a heady dose of power.
You only live once, why not fall in love?
-
Why, why, why.
Why did Geto fall in love as he did? Thinking this he tore at his hair, not as soft as the years before.
Long pale fingers weaving through silky strands, massaging whatever product caught his fancy,
"I'm like your guinea pig at this point Satoru,"
But, now as he tore through tangled hair, matted by stress. Geto ached for his other like he was missing a limb.
The phantom pains still hurt when it was sunny years later. This sky a vivid blue like his Satoru.
-
Why, why, why.
Why did Gojo fall in love as he did? Maybe it was the scoffing his 'Satoru's dumb idea of the week #102,' But, they all knew it wasn't just a means to his end.
He was trying to a get a side-eye and a exasperated kiss on the cheek from his beloved.
To him Suguru was a saint, if he had a altar he would pray at it everyday. Of course he had his collection of broken hair-ties and used convenience-store chopsticks.
Later, he would open that shoebox, and be hit with all the smiles and days he tried to push down. But like how a dam wears down, watery summers of youth pooled down to his fingertips that grasped for hands that will never reach back for him.
He made sure of that,
That they would never have another moment of sync of those heartbeats. Because Satoru is a weak pious man, and his saint is a vision of loveliness and beauty.
-
They had fallen hard and fast, colliding like a supernova. Pulled into a around each other but leaving years and destruction in the wake of The Strongest.

‘It’s Rotten Work’ Pt. 7 Excerpt: Eddie & Robin Talk About Steve While He’s Sleeping
cw: brief mentions of eddie’s childhood experiences surrounding his parents’ addiction
(click the link above to read the rest of the chapter !!)
Eddie crouches and warms his hands in front of the hearth. His knees crack as he bends. Robin doesn’t say anything for a while. Flips through expired deals, taps her toes, and looks at him sideways as if she’s trying to figure him out. His aims. His motives. What his intentions are with her pomme d’amour.
Boy with the candy apple soul.
“You make him happy,” she blurts, at last, “it scares me.”
Eddie winces, because this conversation was always bound to be difficult. He’s been nervously anticipating it since she showed up on the porch earlier with bags of provisions in hand.
Let’s not talk about this, he wants to say, He’s sleeping, he’s dreaming, we’ll ruin it. Let’s not ruin it. Let him dream. Let him go wherever his imagination takes him. Far away–far, far, away. He’s with the seagulls and the ocean. He’s safe.
Supplication isn’t Eddie’s forte. Pride keeps him on his feet.
“He deserves to be happy, but you’re plenty justified in not wanting him to find that happiness with me. I get it. Even I don’t think I’m the best choice for him, but he's here and I can’t abandon him. He needs someone. He needs help. He’s—he hurts too much when he’s alone.”
Perhaps, he’s said too much.
Perhaps, he should excuse himself and go to bed. It’s getting late. The moon’s out. He has no hair to hide under anymore. Buzzcut sticking out the cold of winter. He misses his curls and warm July and his mother’s arms.
And, the thought of violating Steve’s trust makes him sick to his stomach. But Eddie’s grown so tired of pretending everything’s okay.
Nothing is.
He was raised to spread lies to the suits of social services; ‘Mommy’s sleeping. She has the flu,’ ‘Daddy’s on a trip to Philadelphia for business,’ and ‘No one ever hits me. I got this bruise on the playground–fell off the slide.’
His growing pains consisted of pricing out baggies of cocaine and aluminum foil wrappers of heroin while his feet dangled from the kitchen table. Broken crayons pushed to the side so he could do his job. Not yet tall enough to touch the blizzard on the carpet. Child labor laws don’t do shit when you’re in the ‘safety’ of your own home.
He can’t lie anymore.
Robin sighs. Pulls her hair into a small bun at the nape of her neck and twists. ABBA hits the halfway point on the vinyl–‘Knowing me, Knowing you’–for the second time that evening. She fiddles with the matching friendship bracelet on her wrist. The knots aren’t nearly as tight as the ones she made on Steves’.
How long will it last? How long until the threads snap from straining past their breaking points?
“It’s just—you’re his whole world, I think. He looks at you like you’re the answer to every hurt he’s ever felt. I’ve never seen him so— infatuated —with someone.”
Infatuation isn’t love. Like Stevia isn’t sugar. Like cocaine isn’t a mother’s lullaby.
She never sang him to sleep.
Mama.
Eddie sang himself to sleep. Curled knobby knees into his chest under damp blankets, because there was a leak in the ceiling they didn’t have the money to fix and sang snippets of Beatnik tunes.
Words he was too young to understand the true meaning of gave him something to hold onto in the dark. Junkyard hymns and wolves howling to hush the quickened hearts of black lambs.
“It works for now, but he’s running away, Eddie. You can’t– we can’t–ignore his bad habits as much as he may want us to.”
“He’s trying to get better—”
Eddie’s not sure he believes that, himself. He says it because it sounds like the right thing. He says it because it’s what he thinks Robin, Steve’s best friend, wants to hear.
“You’re right, but who is he trying to get better for? Steve–the thing about him is–there’s milkweed in my mom’s garden–”
“Milkweed? The plant?”
In middle school, Eddie’s neighbor paid him ten bucks–one Saturday a month–to mow the lawn and pull Milkweed among other invasive species from his yard. However, his side gig had ended when the man asked him to use a BB gun to ‘remove’ ground squirrels from the property. In tears, he’d biked home and refused to ever go back.
Eddie was ten.
“The plant, yes. A few years ago, my mom asked Steve and I to spend an afternoon spraying weed killer around the perimeter of the garden so it would stop growing, but Steve wouldn’t have it.”
“Why not? Too much work? Didn’t wanna fuck up his hair?” he jokes.
Robin doesn’t laugh.
“The butterflies,” she points to a pair of butterfly wings in black ink on the side of her red shoes–he must have drawn them earlier today, “He cried, Eddie. Not a lot. Not sobbing, but there were tears on his cheeks when he told us that we couldn’t touch the milkweed, because caterpillars like to spin their cocoons on it. If you’d told my high school self that Steve Harrington would be crying in my backyard over the lives of the local butterfly population someday? I’d never have believed you. But, he did. He blocked off an entire section of the garden and bought all this fancy wiring so the birds couldn’t get to them while they grew. He came back every other day to check on them. Sometimes I wasn’t even home.”
Eddie can see it. Has seen it–many times. Steve champions the underdog without question. He’s done it for Eddie. He’s done it for the kids. The only person he won’t do it for is–
“He’ll go to war for anyone, but himself. I mean–the guy fought a Demogorgon, the Mind Flayer, and Vecna to protect Hawkins. Those kids are his world. He’ll fight for them and me and Nance and you and the butterflies, but he sees no reason to fight for himself.”
A pack of Lucky Strikes beckons to Eddie from the coffee table.
How many times in one life can you make the same mistake? How many times does it take before your brain catches up to your heart?
“Steve was supposed to go to college, make friends , get out of Hawkins,” she trails off, grinding her teeth together in frustration like a nutcracker caught on a stubborn walnut, “I don’t know what to do. As long as you’re here, he’ll stay. And, if you leave, it’ll kill him. I feel like I’m staring down a dead end street with a gun to the back of my head and my hands tied. It keeps me up at night, because he saved me–more than once–but I’m at a loss now. What kind of best friend does that make me?”
A memory arises. A flight to Kentucky to stay with Wayne’s second cousin for a family wedding. Thirty-six thousand feet in the air, Eddie focused on two things to keep his mind off of sudden death–complimentary pretzels and the flight attendant’s warning to ‘ put your own mask on first, before helping others.’
Recited it in his head like a prayer. He prepared for the worst, ate through three bags of pretzels, and only found peace when the plane touched down in Louisville.
Steve had flown all over the world. Eddie traveled vicariously through his descriptions of European villas, relics he’d only seen in history books, the blue waters caressing the Mediterranean coast.
‘Put your own mask on first, before helping others.’
Thousands of dollars in airfare, the best hotels money could buy, and numerous upgrades to first class. Mr. and Mrs. Harrington’s cash clogging the drain while Steve drowned in exotic porcelain bathtubs.
“I’m sorry. I should have called you. I should have explained. I never meant for it to be like this. I showed up at his house and he was scared out of his mind. He was having a panic attack for fuck’s sake. He looked at me and I hardly recognized the guy standing in front of me, Robin. I–I couldn’t leave him.”
Steve looked so frail that day. Oversized t-shirt hanging off his hunched shoulders, eyes shot red from crying, dead boy walking–Eddie never stood a chance.
Broken wings needed fixing and Eddie Munson was good at putting things back together.
More than that, he knew how much it hurt to be broken. He knew how much it ached to be alone. The nights were long, the calls came few and far between, no one told you not to burn yourself on the stove when you stopped feeling real and went looking for a quick fix.
Only the howls of the wolves keep you company when everyone else walks away.
It didn’t help that Steve was also so fucking beautiful.
Covered in snot, tears, dripping blood, scars, flesh wounds, brain damage, vomit–he was Eddie’s sun. Only able to flourish due to the blessing of his golden rays. Like Milkweed and butterflies and strawberries for flaky pie.

u know now that i'm diabetic a lot of memes about healthy snacks not tasting good just make me sad and angry bc we fucking know that the snacks and candies made with monk fruit or stevia or are lowcarb or lowfat do not taste as good as "real" candy, we fucking know. but sometimes you find a snack that may not taste the same but is pretty close and that's exciting! like yeah diet culture is evil and all of that but not all special made foods are a result of fatphobia. some of us literally have to eat these things.

So I’m gonna be rating them on a scale of 1-10. 10 being top tier and 1 being I can’t believe I actually used to do that. The ones in red are things I still do.)
P.S.
This post is purely me making fun of myself if you have rules similar to these and I happen to make fun of them I’m sorry. I love you ❤️
1). Whenever eating breakfast keep it low cal.
2). Never spend money on food (unless it's low cal and you regain control)
(Ahem.. doordash) 6-10
3). During weekdays burn at least one meal a day (200-300 cals)
(I never exercise anymore.. though I probably should😭) 4/10
4)No coffee when restricting super low (300-500 cals) tea with coffee creamer is fine
(I worked morning shift at a dunkin for a year and a half.. coffee for breakfast was all I knew) 1/10
5). In order to break that binge cycle raise your cal limit to (900-1000 cals)
(This one’s actually smart) 8/10
6). Remember your thoughts manifest in your reality. So think of yourself as though you are already skinny. Every time you reach for that junk food remember that models don't eat junk they're bodies are too perfect to eat that processed crap.
(This one’s fine except for the fact that it’s giving “2014 heroin chic romanticizing my ed tumblr” Don’t love that but hey I’ll give myself props for manifesting and self concept ig? 7/10
7).Get enough sleep 8-10 hrs. Also go to bed earlier (11pm- 11:30pm at the LATEST)
(It’s 10:30pm as I write this.. old habits truly do die hard) 8/10
8). 50 sit-ups every night
(No comment..) 0/10
9). Don't go too long without eating in order too avoid hanger and binges
(Even when restricting you still should feed your body!!) 10/10
10) When shopping don't buy food unless it's low calorie. (This means no: JUNK FOOD,SODA/SWEETENED BEVERAGES, CANDY, SWEETS, CHIPS, ETC.)
(Again.. doordash) 5/10
11). If able to avoid eating before 11:30am
(Kinda impossible when you work but I get it)
12). No snacking (unless needed*feeling faint/dizzy*)
13). Always measure portions. Avoid portions bigger than 1 cup.
(This one’s kind of stupid but at the same time it helped me stop bingeing so🤷‍♀️) 7/10
14) If eating calorically dense foods only eat 1/2 of the regular serving size.
(Not the worst idea I’ve heard but now I would totally just skip eating those types of foods altogether) 6/10
15).Eat a little more if it'll help avoid binges. (100-150 cals
(Probably one of my most logical rules tbh) 9/10
16). When using sugar avoid using more 3.5 tablespoons. If able to use stevia.
(3.5 tbsp of sugar is insane to me..) 2/10
17).Drink water in between every bite. Always remember even though you feel fat you still have to eat something
(I try to chug water after every meal. Stay Hydrated.) 11/10
18). Always keep sugar free hard candies/gum on hand to ward off hunger pains
(This is also good if you tend to get dizzy from fasting even though some might consider it breaking a fast hard candies definitely help) 7/10
19). Don't drink your calories. If offered candy only eat 1 piece. Also if trying to avoid binge hide candy.
(So I agree with the don’t drink your calories part everything else is stupid. Just don’t eat the candy..?) 4/10
20). Drink warm lemon water to ward off hunger.
(Warm lemon water is one of my faves) 12/10
Fear foods~
Again these are from 2018, however I still have mostly the same fear foods and safe foods.
Bread (except for bagels)
Any condiment other than mustard
(Weird.. but yes?)
Grapes
(Love grapes now.. one of my favorite fruits)
Sugary drinks
Sugar in general unless its for coffee /tea
Sodium/ high sodium foods
(Yes and no.. depends on the day😂)
Fried foods
Foods with fat/oil/grease
Foods that have a little serving but high calories
not really specific I have many fear foods as I tend to avoid mostly everything
(I don’t avoid as much now but yeah..)
Safe Foods✨
I don’t have much to say about my safe foods. They’re safe foods what can I say.🤷‍♀️ Except for the fact that I had grapes as both a fear food and a safe food for some reason? Idk what weird fixation I had with grapes but okay ig?
1) Peanut butter
2) Banana
3) Grapes
4) Oranges
5) Cherries
6)Peaches
7) Pretzels
8) Popcorn
9) Lettuce
10)Cucumbers
11)Corn
12)Tomato
13)Rice
14) Chicken
15)Rice Cakes
16) Almond milk
If you made it to the end of this long ass post here’s a butterfly 🦋. Stay safe angels🌸

Candied Hibiscus Flowers and Hibiscus Syrup (Bleeding Hearts for Halloween)
Sweet, tangy, chewy, floral with light vegetal notes, these candied hibiscus are like grown up fruit leather. They make a great addition to cheeseboards and are especially festive for Halloween. Worth making alone for the syrup, which is like a floral pomegranate molasses and just as versatile. Use in sauces, dressings, or drinks.
Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients
1 cup hibiscus flowers dried
1 cup water
2 cups allulose/ or Stevia
pinch of salt
Instructions
Rinse the flowers well to remove any sand/dirt, which will leave a gritty product if left in.
Combine all ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and simmer on low, uncovered for 45 minutes, or until the flowers are tender and the liquid is reduced to a syrup. If the liquid level looks like it is getting too low, add a bit more water and continue simmering.
Will keep for 2 weeks refrigerated.

Today I learned that the stevia aftertaste is apparently comparable to licorice and suddenly everything makes sense as to why it doesn't bother me even though I have NEVER come across a stevia-sweetened product that actually tastes "just like regular sugar sweetened counterpart" like some people claim.
Because I actually love licorice. I drink a licorice tea that's so strong my previous coworkers ribbed me about it. I eat black licorice candy.
Things make so much sense now.

Saint Nicholas
SAlso known as Nicholas of Myra, Nicolo, Claes, Nicolae etc
Classification: venerated as a saint by most branches of Christianity.
Facts:
He was a bishop of Myra, now known as Demre in modern turkey.
He lived in the early fourth century and died in approximately 350
He was buried in his own cathedral
Nicholas developed a reputation as a wonder worker and his shrine was, for centurys, a significant and important Christian pilgrimage site.
Favored People: children, unwed mothers, pawnbrokers, captives, bankers, beggars, lawyers, woman who wish to marry, sailors, mariners, merchants, distillers
Attributes:  bishops mitre, a book, 3 golden balls
Sacred Animal:  In Bulgariann lore, a magical carp is his servant
Spiritual Allies:
In the context of icons and religious legends, Nicholas is often accompanied by angels, especially Gabriel and Michael
In the context of ritualized feast-day making, Nicholas is frequently accompanied by a helper spirit, typically a Pagan or demonic figure like krampus, ruprecht or black pete. While Nicholas - or someone dressed as him - rewards well-behaved children, the helper spirit - or someone dressed as that guise - punished the unruly under the direction of Saint Nick.
Ritual: Saint Nickolas is a gift gaver but he does not dress like Santa Claus. He appears dressed as a bishop and there is nothing secular about him. Saint Nicholas does not visit homes at midnight. Instead, men impersonating him knock on the door in broad daylight accompanied by assistans and attendants. These representatives ask children to account for their behavior and may ask religious questions and make religious speeches.
Sacred Tree:  Pine Sacred Plants:  Sanicula spp, damiana, a potent aphrodisiac known as Saint Nicholas in Mexico (stevia serrata) Feasts:  6.December, his primary feast, 19, December in orthodox churches Offerings:  donations and good deeds on behalf of the poor and needy, gifts for children, a basket filled with apples, nuts, candy, sweets, a stiff drink, candles

“Watch out for erythritol being sneakily added to chocolate and candy. I bought this chocolate bar at Whole Foods yesterday, thinking it was all-natural and was disappointed to see that it contains both stevia AND erythritol. I consider them both toxic, despite the claim that they're "natural" products. For example, erythritol was recently shown to increase blood clotting.” Dr. Csoka
