Ed and His Dead Mother (1993)
Ed Chilton (Steve Buscemi) is a mama’s boy; he may, in fact, be the mama’s boy to end all mama’s boys. See, her voice is still ringing in his ears, a year after her death. The late Mabel Chilton (Miriam Margolyes) went to her grave a full twelve months ago, leaving her hardware store to Ed, where he employs the kindly (Gary Farmer) and fields phone calls from the murderous Reverend Paxton (Rance…

Long-time pine Seddie
I was going to write this as an actual fanfic but now I feel like I'm never gonna finish it, so here you go the concept:
Eddie knows about King Steve and as much as he hates it, he also understands why all the girls like him.
Steve doesn't know who Eddie is... at least at first.
Here's all I had written till now:
Notes:
I'm literally at the water park right now and i felt OBLIGATED to write this istf if i had to ride the ride that my frs wanted i would have DIED
Eddie Munson wasn't the type of guy who would go to the water park at a quarter to ten. But there was a 5 dollar discount if you go before ten o'clock on a Monday, so here he was. Freshman year; in the longest swim trunks he could find, a tee-shirt and putting his sweat glands to work. If it sounded dreadful, it was probably because it was.
"Dude, why are we even here?" Eddie whined.
"Why are you complaining so much. You agreed to come after all!" Gareth said annoyed.
Jeff nodded "Just take off your shirt and maybe you'll stop complaining about the heat. Swim a little, try some of the rides. It'll be fun!"
"There's like... people around and stuff."
"And?" Gareth asked pointedly.
"No one is wearing a shirt Eddie, relax. What's the big deal anyway?"
Gareth shoved Jeff's shoulder "Maybe the girl he's been crushing on is here and he's embarrassed!"
Eddie blushed. "Dude, gross!" There was no girl. Him and a Jeff traded glances. This was the worst, change the subject! "Plus it's totally normal to wear a shirt!" Eddie tried to look for a way out. He started looking in the growing number of people someone with a shirt that wasn't in the act of taking it off. His eyes land on the lifeguard - some brunet guy who had his back turned to them. "See?" He pointed. "It's common."
Gareth only rolled his eyes as Jeff let out an exasperated sigh. "He's the fucking lifeguard." Gareth said "You know- you know what dude, whatever. Do what you want, we're gonna go hit the water slides."
Eddie would have felt a little bad for missing out on the time with his friends, but he was too busy feeling relieved that he didn't have to do anything. It was embarrassing enough that he had started school one year later than everyone and he'd been older since first grade. Now had to show said old and weird-looking body to all these people? No way in hell would that happen. He wasn't normal in too many aspects, he wasn't ready to be abnormal to his friends as well. How did this place fill up so fast anyway? There were way too many people.
He looked back at the lifeguard to give his mental thanks but when he did, he felt himself freeze. He recognized him. In fact, he had been spending the past few years avoiding him. (Granted - it wasn't that hard, considering they weren't in the same class, same year perhaps, but not same class.)
Captain of the swim team, the school's "star athlete" and girls' all time favorite boy: King Steve "the hair" Harrington. Tommy H. and Carol's lapdog. Disgusting.
Steve was the type of guy that would bully him for living with his uncle at the trailer park. The type to shove him in the lockers because of what he liked, whether it be music, or people, or other things. He was definitely one of the people who started calling him "the freak"... Well... Eddie had never met Steve personally, or seen Steve doing any of the things listed, but he was sure Steve matched that description perfectly. After all, that was his type of clique.
Eddie must have glared in his detection for a moment too much because Steve turned his head to meet his gaze. Before Eddie could turn his head and pretend not to be looking Steve save him a polite tight-lipped smile and an upward nod. The one u would give to the old grumpy man down the street that you've never met before. Or a kid that you've only seen twice in the school halls, which was the case for them. But none of that mattered. What did matter was that Eddie didn't want to be in "the King"s rance of sight.
He moved.
Eddie had almost fallen asleep on one of those beach lounge chairs, when this agitating voice woke him up.
"Hey man." Eddie opened his eyes to see Steve fucking Harington throwing shade his way. Was he going to bully him? Or kick him out? "Don't wanna wake you up but you're gonna burn."
What?
"What?"
Steve ignored the question. "The park store's open, go get some sun screens if you don't have any." He popped the unopened can in his hand and took a sip.
Eddie was too puzzled by what had happened to notice Steve had already walked over to his chair - looking bored as ever, scanning the area as if he didn't just talk to the one everyone treated like the plague.
Eddie couldn't fall asleep after that. Maybe it was because his mind was rushing with questions. Maybe it was because there was something in the way Steve slumped over his chair and occasionally blew his whistle to tell some kids not to throw the inflatable donuts or whatever they were called. Maybe it was the fact that he looked so... normal? down to earth? human. But the thought of the school's King made Eddie something uneasy settle in the pit of his stomach.
Three days later he went to the pool again.
What was he thinking? He wasn't even with his friends, he had no intentions of getting in the water and to top it off there was no discount so he wasted money he didn't have. That's right, he wasn't thinking. Unlike Steve who was a lifeguard just for fun, Eddie didn't come from money so he had to save up from birthdays or unspent lunch cash.
Still, he had to come again. Because, if not knowing why he couldn't get an annoying rich brat off his mind kept him up at night, his eye bags would keep on growing.
Eddie couldn't help but shift and look around for a certain employee there. With his Munson misfortune, he couldn't see Steve anywhere. He really wasn't thinking coming here like some weirdo to look for someone who didn't even recognize him. It was a bad thing that Steve didn't recognize him, in fact it was property for the better. He got up to leave.
It was hot, he was sweating and he didn't want to be here.
He absentmindedly bumped into someone turning his head quickly to see who it was. Brown styled hair- could it be?
"Sorry dude." the stranger said.
It wasn't Steve. What the hell was wrong with Eddie why was he so hell-bent on this asshole? That was it. He wasn't going to think about him anymore. No more idiocy.
This was the last time he was going to think about Steve.
That was not the last time he thought about Steve.
(I'll post summarized how I would have continued it later)

Days of the Week
Summary: Your daughter Sarah has a hard time coping when her father goes on a week long mission and you do everything in your power to make it the best week possible.
Warnings: A very sad Sarah 🥺
a/n: Sorry for any mistakes! Today has been a very long day (in a good way tho) and I’m way too tired to truly edit this, but I really wanted to post it today. So here we are with me crossing my fingers, hoping I didn’t screw it up. Other than that, enjoy the story!
It was a task.
A very difficult one.
Getting your two year old daughter, Sarah, into the bathtub, that is. It wasn’t that she didn’t like bathtime, no no, she was just ecstatic that her daddy would be home anytime now.
Steve was gone on a week long mission, today being the day you both expected his arrival any minute now. For the whole week you tried to entertain Sarah but she was just absolutely miserable that her other half was gone.
You had taken her to the zoo to see the giraffes, her favorite animal in the whole world. She loved giraffes so much that you had figured that it would somewhat lift her spirit, but to your dismay, most of your time at the zoo she’d just lay her head on your shoulder and sleep. When you had reached the giraffe exhibit, you tried to muster up all your energy and show her the giraffes, saying things like “look at the giraffes, honey!” or “oh look! We can even feed them!” With that, you’d bought some of the giraffes' food and held it in your hand, reaching out to feed the friendly giant, even offering for your daughter to try, instead she just shook her head no and went back to sleeping. That was Monday, and Steve had only been gone for a day and a half at the time.
Then on Tuesday you took her to go see your parents who came up to New York specifically that week to help you. All four of you went out for breakfast and Sarah smiled for once, which was a complete win for you. She sat on your lap and tried to tell her grandparents all that had happened since she had seen them a few months ago, but most stories included her dad and you could tell she was getting sadder by the moment. Of course Sarah loved you, actually no, she loved you both to death, but Steve was her exact replica and she was truly a daddy’s girl. He was wrapped around her little finger. So as you fed her pancakes, which she would normally eat with her dad, you could see her little eyes watering and you reached out and put her on your lap, gently kissing her head full of blonde hair.
Wednesday was a lot better than the last couple of days. Sarah was in a pretty bright mood that morning. Since Steve was gone, you let her sleep in your bed. As soon as the sun peeked she was up and ready to start the day. Taking off her blanket, Sarah crawled up to your side and kissed your cheek.
“Morning mommy!”
You smiled at the little girl sitting beside you. “Good Morning, baby!”
“Daddy’s calls today!” She clapped her hands and smiled her million dollar smile that never failed to make you smile yourself. One of the traits she got from her dad was that beautiful smile that you could never get tired of.
“Yes he does!”
Steve was over in Bordeaux, France with Nat, Sam, and Wanda, but he promised to call you both on Wednesday despite the six hour time difference. This meant when it was 5 in the evening there, it was 11 in the morning in New York.
At the moment it was 7 in the morning and Sarah was ready to call her dad.
“Sweetheart, Daddy can’t call us for a few more hours.” A small frown made a home on her face and you kissed her nose, instantly making her smile again.
“Waffles?” Sarah tilted her head and awaited your answer. As soon as you said yes, she immediately jumped out of the bed.
“C’mon mommy!” Her little feet pattered down the apartment hallway as she struggled to keep up with her own pace.
By the time you had finished eating breakfast, it was 10 am. Sarah giddily went to go pick her own outfit (which surprisingly matched)
You quickly washed her up even though she splashed her way through the whole thing. Her outfit, which was a pink apple-patterned jersey dress and some red leggings, laid out on your bed. Once Sarah was dressed, she sat on your bed as you brushed her hair and then put a matching apple headband on her head.
“You're all dressed, babe.” Sarah was sitting between your legs so it was pretty convenient to just lean forward and kiss her little head.
“Can I use your special spray, mommy?” You chuckled at her use of words. By special spray she meant your perfume and whenever she wanted to be a little “extra” you’d let her use it.
“Of course!” Getting off the bed, you leaned down so Sarah could wrap her arms around your neck, allowing you to carry her to the bathroom.
Sarah sat on the counter while you searched for the bottle of perfume, once you found it, you sprayed some on your hand and dabbed a small amount on her neck.
“Thanks mommy!” She kissed your cheek and made grabby hands so she could get down.
Sarah ran back to go watch a cartoon that was playing in the bedroom, you went to go follow her till your phone buzzed.
Steve- Hey doll! I can call you guys now if you want. Nat is taking care of everything for me so I could talk to you guys.
You checked the time.
10:34
You smiled at the phone. Not only was Steve a good man, but a good husband and father.
(y/n)- Aww honey! Tell Nattie thanks, and of course, your daughter is dying to see you.
With that, an incoming FaceTime came through.
“Hey Darling!”
Steve’s bright smile came through the screen and you waved back at him and smiled in similar fashion.
“Hi Steve.”
You and Steve talked a little for a few minutes before your daughter came running into the bathroom.
“Mommy, where are you? She searched around till she saw you on the phone with Steve. Her eyes lit up and she ran into your lap.
“Hi Daddy!” Her little hands were waving as fast as they could and then she blew him a kiss, in which he blew one back at her.
Steve was able to talk for another hour before he had to go back to help Nat, who clearly had taken on more than one person could handle.
For the rest of the day, Sarah couldn’t stop talking about her dad and how proud she was of him. Sarah knew very well that her father was Captain America. At times you would humor her with stories about the times you and Steve would work together on missions, of course making them g-rated for her little mind.
Thursday was one of the best days that week. You and Sarah went back to the compound to go see Uncle Bucky, and she was just over the moon. Bucky was a very close second when it came to Steve in Sarah’s mind.
“Yeah! And Daddy’s in ‘Rance!”
Bucky just smiled at you and then back at the little girl.
“Oh you mean France, honey?”
Sarah thought for a minute before nodding her head vigorously. Before anyone could get another word in, she was back at talking a mile a minute about her dad. Bucky knew all of the information his niece was telling him, but it brought a smile to his face to see her so happy. Almost everyone knew how sad Sarah got when her dad left. You and Sarah both enjoyed Bucky’s company as he told you the tales of when he and Steve were young, you couldn’t help but laugh at how stubborn that man was, and still is.
Friday came around in a flash. Sarah had been talking non stop about a movie trailer she saw on tv, and when you finally figured out what she was rambling about, you booked tickets to go see the movie on Friday. Prior to seeing the movie, Sarah demanded you help dress up Mr. Harry, a plush giraffe Steve had gotten for her during another mission a couple of years ago. Sarah was just as old fashioned as her father, insisting you all dress up to go see a movie. Obviously you didn’t mind and you both wore casual sundresses while Mr. Harry was dressed in shorts and a Hawaiian button-up.
By time it was Friday night, you both were plopped in your bed. Sarah was cuddling Mr. Harry while snuggled under her dad’s blanket. You kissed her goodnight before hearing a couple of snores coming from her. Laying on your own pillow, you sighed. Not trying to pat yourself on the back or anything, but you just realized how well you handled this week with your daughter.
Now, it’s Saturday. And Steve will be home any minute now.
Sarah was already out of the bathtub and you both were sitting on the couch, she was laying under your arm, hugging your side.
“I love you mommy.”
It was out of the blue. And it definitely caught you off guard.
Your heart must’ve swelled so large that it was out of your body.
“Aww baby! I love you so much too.”
“I miss daddy, but I love you this much too mommy.” She leaned up from your sides and spread her arms out as wide as they’d go.
“Well there are my best girls!”
Steve was walking in through the apartment door, placing his bags down to catch the incoming Sarah.
“Daddy!”
“Hi little doll! How’s your week with mommy?” He looked up at you and leaned forward to envelope you in a hug too.
“Mommy is the best!”
Every time Sarah spoke, it was with an immense amount of excitement, bringing a smile to both of your faces.
“Well how about we go get some ice cream?”
Sarah’s eyes and grin grew wider. She giggled in glee at your agreement too. You grabbed Steve’s car keys from the table by the door and you all headed out. Even though it had only been a matter of minutes, Steve and Sarah were already engaged in a long and very animated conversation. Sarah’s hands were flying around as she talked and Steve looked at her, gently concentrating on what she was saying.
You smiled to yourself. Boy, were you the luckiest woman in the world.

Today we remember the passing of T-Bone Walker who Died: March 16, 1975 at Vernon Healthcare Center in Los Angeles, California
Aaron Thibeaux "T-Bone" Walker was an American blues guitarist, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, who was a pioneer and innovator of the jump blues and electric blues sound. In 2018 Rolling Stone magazine ranked him number 37 on its list of "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".
Aaron Thibeaux Walker was born in Linden, Texas, of African-American and Cherokee descent. His parents, Movelia Jimerson and Rance Walker, were both musicians. His stepfather, Marco Washington, taught him to play the guitar, ukulele, banjo, violin, mandolin, and piano.
Walker began his career as a teenager in Dallas in the 1920s. His mother and stepfather (a member of the Dallas String Band) were musicians, and Blind Lemon Jefferson, a family friend, sometimes came over for dinner. Walker left school at the age of 10, and by 15 he was a professional performer on the blues circuit. Initially, he was Jefferson's protégé and would guide him around town for his gigs. In 1929, Walker made his recording debut with Columbia Records, billed as Oak Cliff T-Bone, releasing the single "Wichita Falls Blues" backed with "Trinity River Blues". Oak Cliff is the community in which he lived at the time, and T-Bone is a corruption of his middle name. The pianist Douglas Fernell played accompaniment on the record.
Walker married Vida Lee in 1935; the couple had three children.
By the age of 25, Walker was working in clubs on Central Avenue, in Los Angeles, sometimes as the featured singer and as guitarist with Les Hite's orchestra. In 1940 he recorded with Hite for the Varsity label, but he was featured only as a singer.
In 1942, Charlie Glenn, the owner of the Rhumboogie Café, brought T-Bone Walker to Chicago for long-time stints in his club. In 1944 and 1945, Walker recorded for the Rhumboogie label, which was tied to the club, backed up by Marl Young's orchestra.
T-Bone Walker performed at the second famed Cavalcade of Jazz concert held at Wrigley Field in Los Angeles produced by Leon Hefflin Sr. on October 12, 1946. Jack McVea, Slim Gaillard, The Honeydrippers, Lionel Hampton and his Orchestra, and Louis Armstrong were all on the same program. He also performed for the third Cavalcade of Jazz concert held in the same location on September 7, 1947 along with Woody Herman as Emcee, The Valdez Orchestra, The Blenders, The Honeydrippers, Slim Gaillard, Johnny Otis and his Orchestra, Toni Harper, The 3 Blazers and Sarah Vaughn.
Much of his output was recorded from 1946 to 1948 for Black & White Records, including his most famous song, "Call It Stormy Monday (But Tuesday Is Just as Bad)" (1947). Other notable songs he recorded during this period were "Bobby Sox Blues" (a number 3 R&B hit in 1947) and "West Side Baby" (number 8 on the R&B singles chart in 1948).
Throughout his career Walker worked with top-notch musicians, including the trumpeter Teddy Buckner, the pianist Lloyd Glenn, the bassist Billy Hadnott, and the tenor saxophonist Jack McVea.
He recorded from 1950 to 1954 for Imperial Records (backed by Dave Bartholomew). Walker's only record in the next five years was T-Bone Blues, recorded during three widely separated sessions in 1955, 1956 and 1959 and released by Atlantic Records in 1959.
By the early 1960s, Walker's career had slowed down, in spite of an energetic performance at the American Folk Blues Festival in 1962 with the pianist Memphis Slim and the prolific writer and musician Willie Dixon, among others. However, several critically acclaimed albums followed, such as I Want a Little Girl (recorded for Delmark Records in 1968). Walker recorded in his last years, from 1968 to 1975, for Robin Hemingway's music publishing company, Jitney Jane Songs. He won a Grammy Award for Best Ethnic or Traditional Folk Recording in 1971 for Good Feelin', while signed with Polydor Records, produced by Hemingway, followed by another album produced by Hemingway, Fly Walker Airlines, released in 1973.
Walker's career began to wind down after he suffered a stroke in 1974. He died of bronchial pneumonia following another stroke in March 1975, at the age of 64.
Walker was posthumously inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1980 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
Chuck Berry named Walker and Louis Jordan as his main influences. B.B. King cited hearing Walker's recording of "Stormy Monday" as his inspiration for getting an electric guitar. Walker was admired by Jimi Hendrix, who imitated Walker's trick of playing the guitar with his teeth. Steve Miller stated that in 1952, when he was eight, Walker taught him how to play his guitar behind his back and also with his teeth. He was a family friend and a frequent visitor to Miller's family home and Miller considers him a major influence on his career. "Stormy Monday" was a favorite live number of the Allman Brothers Band. The British rock band Jethro Tull covered Walker's "Stormy Monday" in 1968 for John Peel's "Top Gear". Eva Cassidy performed "Stormy Monday" on her 1996 Live at Blues Alley recording.
According to Cleveland.com, Walker may have been the best R&B guitarist. He "pioneered electric blues by becoming the first artist to make the electric guitar a solo instrument and a true centerpiece of his stunning live shows".

***** I am over the moon at the suggestion of a biopic of Dave Letterman starring Michael Shannon. Will somebody think about really putting this into production??? Please??
***** Criminal Minds will wrap it up after this next and 15th season. The season 14 finale on Feb.6 will have Rossi’s wedding. They will spend the last season chasing after ‘a worthy adversary’ rumored to be played by Harold Perrineau as they jump ahead in time.
***** I am so touched by shows like Grace and Frankie and Schitt’s Creek that look right past the usually discussed issues for interracial and same sex couples . Gee, just think, it’s like we are all the same.
***** If you haven’t seen Michael Bennet and his senate floor speech about Ted Cruz, government shutdowns and Trump, run to C-span and catch it. These things make me proud to be in a DEMOCRACY!
***** Can this be true?? The constitution of Texas states that one can’t hold public office unless they believe in a supreme being??
***** Julian Castro is running for President.
***** Kamala Harris is running for President.
***** Cory Booker is running for President.
***** HGTV is apparently working on a huge publicity stunt and ratings grabber. They have purchased the home whose exterior was used in the Brady Bunch. A show will reunite the cast, bring in some famous fane and remodel the inside to look like the Brady set. At the end they may give the house away.
***** Michael Shannon and Audra McDonald will team up to revive Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune on Broadway.
***** Rashida Jones and Bill Murray will star in Sofia Coppola’s’ On the Rocks.’
***** Why isn’t extreme ironing a bigger sport by now??** And can we make Petanque a bigger thing while we’re at it?

***** Super bowl LIII will host Maroon 5, Travis Scott and Big Boi. They will have no pre- concert interview. It is said that many artists turned down the gig because of the controversy. Maroon 5 has gotten some shit for performing but they caution us to just watch.** Roger Waters has asked Maroon 5 to take a knee during the show.

***** The Golden Globes were held and were hosted by Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh. My best dressed was Isla Fisher, Elizabeth Moss. Danai Gurira, Julia Roberts, Carol Burnett, Emily Blunt, Lupita Nyong’o, Patricia Clarkson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jameela Jamil, Rosamund Pike, Jim Carrey, Alison Brie, Gemma Chan and Bradley Cooper. Worst dressed goes to Rachel Weisz, Julianne Moore, Layra Dern, Anne Hathaway, Maya Rudolph, Rami Mlek, Molly Sims and Heidi Klum. I was so happy for winners like The Americans (highlight of the evening!!!), Regina King, Lady Gaga, Mahershala Ali, Patricia Clarkson, Darren Criss, Bohemian Rhapsody, Rami Malek, Olivia Colman and Green Book. The Cecil B. DeMille award went to Jeff Bridges. The new Carol Burnett award started off with Carol herself. I was saddened that Bill Hader, Henry Winkler, Kieran Culkin, Keri Russell and Sacha Baron Cohen went home empty handed. The Fiji water girl got most of the press and gave much free advertising to her product. Some of the stars did not like her getting in their shots to push a product without their knowledge, both a clever and sad state of affairs.
***** The Kominsky Method will be back for season 2.
***** The Sag awards had their big night and gave the lifetime achievement to Alan Alda. Winners included Emily Blunt, Darren Criss, Black Panther, Rami Malek and Glenn Close. I was especially thrilled with some love goingto Jason Bateman and Patricia Arquette. Best dressed were Amy Adams, Yara Shahidi, Brian Tyree Henry, Sydelle Noel, Eddie Griffin, Holly Taylor, Sofia Hubitz, Emma Stone, Emily Blunt, Darren Criss, Laverne Cox, Timothee Chalamet, Robin Wright, Lily Tomlin, Chadwick Boseman, Matthew Rhys, Keri Russell, and Catherine Zeta Jones. The WTF award goes to Alison Brie.
***** The Oscar race is on. Best picture could go to Blank Panther, Blackkklansman, Roma, The Favourite, Green Book, Vice, Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star is born. Black Panther also got some love for music and costume design. Fingers crossed for Isle of Dogs in the animated category. Actor nods had a few surprises. Willem Dafoe and Rami Malek , Lady Gaga and Melissa McCarthy are up for leads and supporting mentions are for Mahershala Ali, Regina King, Adam Driver and Sam Elliott. I am so hopeful for Spike Lee and I want to hear that speech.

***** NY mayor Bill De Blasio has given healthcare to every resident of NY city.
***** 25% of Russians do not have indoor toilets. Putin and his buddies have about $1trillion tucked away from London to Miami.
***** Days alert: I wonder if Leo’s real name ‘Matthew Cooper’ is a nod to out actor Chad Allen from Dr. Quinn??!! It is also fun to see Judith Chapman take on the role of Leo’s Mama, Diana. The pair played Mother and son previously on The Young and the Restless. Is she really Diana Colville from John’s past??** So Stefan has been played by Tyler Christopher who asked for some time off and a sub was put in place who will take over in March. Since Christopher left, he has since decided that he will leave permanently so things are up in the air. Will Stefan and Gabi hook up? Days has been renewed for season 55. HOORAY!!!! ***** Steve Buscemi will play God on tv’s Miracle Workers.
***** So, the new Conan format has ups and downs. I miss the band and the desk but I am Loving the fade in and fade out at commercials. I have always hated the, “We’ll be right back “ nonsense. I was sad to lose a half hour at first but Conan and Andy do seem refreshed.
***** Still waiting for the release of Apple Seed which is written, directed and starring Michael Worth. It is one of the final films of Rance Howard who stars with his son, Clint, Adrienne Barbeau and the other Father and son team of Robby and Zephyr Benson.
***** The January Bob Segar concert in Illinois at the Peoria Civic Center is the top selling concert ever at this venue. Old rock acts take note.
***** Bob Costas is out at NBC after 40 years.
***** Trial and Error has been cancelled. BOO!!!
***** Steve Carell will star in Space Force which he is co-creating with The Office showrunner Greg Daniels.
***** Despite some people I admire that are giving Alexandria Ocasio Cortez a talking to like she’s a child, I say ‘Give ‘em Hell!’ She could well be President so fight girl!!
***** Word is that Karen Pence is now teaching at the Immanuel School in Virginia. The school refuses admission to students who participate in or condone homosexual activity. The application for the school states that misconduct includes heterosexual activity outside of marriage, homosexual activity, polygamy, transgender identity and use of pornographic websites. The application goes on to state that ‘a wife must submit to her husband’ and a pledge must be signed to that effect.
***** There is controversy over the bill to give people a day off for Election Day. Many people will still have to work, the country never completely shuts down. How many fucking times do I have to say it: VOTE BY MAIL!!!!!!!!!!!
***** So, Scary clown told us Mexico would pay for ‘the wall’. During the campaign he gave actual ideas for that like Mexico giving us a one time payout or else he would not allow Mexican immigrants to western union money back to Mexico. Another idea was that there would be a great ta on that Western union money. It does not seem like they tried any of that and just decided we would pay for the stupid ‘wall.’ How about the money he makes off Trump merch which his website and hotels still sell to pay for it?? How about the $35 million that Trump sold in real estate in 2018? The ‘Wall’ go fund me did not reach its $1billion goal so the $20 million they did collect is being offered for refunds. Some of those people still want that money to go for its purpose so Trump is creating a non- profit. Can’t we use that money to help the border patrol agents and get the backlog in immigration court moving?? That we are still talking about this ridiculous wall and that it had a go fund me page is enough to boggle the normal brain.** I think Kimmel said it best when he suggested that Trump just tell the red hats that the wall has been built. They believe everything he says so why wouldn’t they believe that?? It would save the country a lot of headaches. ** What the Hell is with his new “wheels and walls” mantra??** Russia caused Brexit too? Putin is a menace.** Another sink hole appeared the White House. WTF?
***** The congressional budget office says the shut down cost the U.S. 11 billion
***** Trump is talking to Herman Cain about a job on the Federal Reserve Board.
***** The GOP is selling fake bricks that cost about 50 cents for $20 each to send to Senate Dems. Some have said that the Dems should sign them and sell them and give the money to government workers. ** Why are Russian jets fucking around on the North American coastline??
***** Roger Stone has been indicted on 5 counts of false statements, 1 count of obstruction and 1 count of witness tampering. The FBI officers who arrested him were part of the shut down and they still did their job!! He publically and privately claimed to have communicated with Russia. Predictions are that many more indictments are coming down the pike that involve many familiar faces.** Roger Stone has a Nixon tattoo on his back. I feel sorry for his cell mate.-Bill Maher
***** Bill Maher got some flak for comments after Stan Lee died. He wasn’t slamming Lee, but wondered about comic book fans putting away childish things. I suppose that could include weed but point taken.
***** Jared Kushner along with 30 other White House staff was denied top secret clearance but Trump advisor Carl Kline overruled that decision and gave it to them anyway. This has never been done before, this is a job for intelligent agencies.
***** Empire star Jussie Smollett was attacked in Chicago in what cops are saying was a possible hate crime. The attackers were yelling that this was MAGA country, poured bleach on him and put a rope around his neck. The actor was previously sent a letter full of homophobic and racist slurs which he FBI had been looking into.
***** Ellen page gave us some memorable, powerful words to chew on with her appearance on Stephen Colbert. I am sure she gave courage to many who suffer because of our hate filled administration.
***** Gwyneth Paltrow is being sued from a 2016 ski incident for 3 mil.
***** I gain more and more respect for Seth Meyers. I did not really understand the choice of him as host in the beginning. His notice of local stations, choice of guests and revolving drummers makes for a great show.
***** A Dutch company may have invented a small device that converts heat into cold and Forbes is saying, ‘it could save the planet.’
***** So looking forward to Ryan Murphy’s The Politician which will star Jessica Lange, Gwyneth Paltrow and January Jones.
***** I know that is has happened little by little and we go thru times in our history when things get worse and then things get better but… When did this country get so fucking corrupt?? I mean seriously.. Why is Brendan Dassey still in prison and why is there no real justice for Teresa Halbach? ** Why is Trump still in the White House?**Why are government workers being told to work for nothing?? Why is R Kelly still living it up?? Why are some states going backward in time when it comes to women’s health?? Why do many corporations care more about their own pockets than the children of their employees or the environment around them??** Why does our justice system so often punish big for small infractions and allow the powerful to do anything they want?? **Why is a wall a better idea than infrastructure or warm beds for the homeless or food for our children and why are so many children in cages??
***** How can it be that we are still in a world where people are not allowed to reach their full potential?? Why do so many selfish humans actually fight to live in a world where they actively hold others back? Shouldn’t we all be concerned about the greater good? We should all be allowed to see a Doctor when we are ill. We should all be able to excel in education if we choose .We should all be able to get a job to fit our skills and work ethic. Opportunities and the pursuit of happiness should be available to all. Why is this so fucking hard for so many to grasp in this world? Imagine!
***** Sundance premiered the new flick, Big time adolescence with Griffin Gluck and Pete Davidson. Pete has since made no bones about filming in Syracuse. He hated it.
***** Jeff Flake will join CBS news as a contributor.
***** Tom Brokaw is in a bit of trouble for saying Hispanics should work harder at assimilation.
***** The Tom Hanks/ Matthew Rhys film, A beautiful day in the neighborhood has pushed back its release date to Nov. 22.
***** People are illogical and self- centered. Love them anyway. -Hedy Lemarr
*****R.I.P. Bob Einstein, Millie Wiesehan, victims of the Torrance. Ca. bowling alley shooting, Captain Darryl Dragon, Jo Andres, Lamin Sanneh, Carol Channing, Sandra Harmon, Bradley Bolke, the victims of Mediterranean shipwreck, Lorna Doom, victims of the Florida bank shooting, Kaye Ballard, Willie York , Barbara Claman , victims of the mining dam collapse in Brazil and James Frawley.

The writing team included the writers who also gave us two other movies I like: City Slickers and Fever Pitch. Parenthood accomplishes in general what the movie Rain Man did for my wife and me. It reminded us of our autistic daughter And made us laugh at stuff that frustrated us in “real life.“ Similarly Parenthood touches upon a lot of hotspots in the parenting experience and helps us laugh at them. Their is a fine Ensemble cast. I particularly like KianU Reeves as Tod, who seems like an inappropriate boyfriend for the daughter but who proves to be valuable in mentoring their disaffected son. There are many memorable situations but one line my wife and I often quote even after all these years occurs when the other son Larry is pushed out of a still moving vehicle by people he owes money to. His father, played straight by Jason Robards, asked who they were. Tod replies that they were just some friends. The memorable line by Robards’ character is, “Friends. Friends slow down; they even stop.” The movie is full of good one-liners, as well as more in-depth sources of humor. You must ...
