Ed and His Dead Mother (1993)
Ed Chilton (Steve Buscemi) is a mama’s boy; he may, in fact, be the mama’s boy to end all mama’s boys. See, her voice is still ringing in his ears, a year after her death. The late Mabel Chilton (Miriam Margolyes) went to her grave a full twelve months ago, leaving her hardware store to Ed, where he employs the kindly (Gary Farmer) and fields phone calls from the murderous Reverend Paxton (Rance…

Left Behind: Rise of the Anti-Christ trailer Back in 1995, writers Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins wrote Left Behind. It was a start of an original 12 book series that spanned 9 years. There was later a series of 3 prequel books and 1 follow on novel (Kingdom Come). It became the jumping off point for a series of fast paced Christian fiction novels that went on to become worldwide best sellers…

CLOSED! Preliminary Hot Vintage TV Men List
Alright folks! We have one week left on submissions for the Hot Vintage TV Men's Bracket! As promised here is a list of all the Hot Vintage TV Men who have been submitted and passed our preliminary eligibility checks. There are a handful of guys on this list and one or two not on it that we are currently still debating on so reminder that this list is not final and subject to change.
Currently we have 231 Hot Vintage TV Men!
Also in advance of the competition I'd like to remind anyone submitting propaganda for someone that starred in a show that aired only partially during our timeframe or was under 18 for a part of a shows filming, to please make sure you are only submitting propaganda that is from within our timeframe and when the actor was 18 years or older. This is also just good to keep in mind in general as several people submitted actors for shows that aren't eligible for our tournament either because it was outside our time period or in one case the actor was underaged for the entirety of the show (though many were eligible for other shows they were submitted for). We do our best to screen for these things but sometimes it's hard to tell or it’s a show we don't personally know well enough so we appreciate help from y'all letting us know if you do catch anything.
List below the cut

TEAM THUNDERDOME.
TWO TEAMS ENTER. TUMBLR VOTES. ONE TEAM LEAVES. TRIAL BY COMBAT. TO THE DEATH. VICTORY OR SOVNGARDE.
The Rules:
Fights will occur over the course of ONE WEEK, quarter 1 begins JUNE 1ST, 2024 at 12:00 AM MIDNIGHT EDT (UTC-04:00).
Multiple fights happen across one week.
ONLY 3 to 4 team members per team. 2 is too few, 5 is almost cheating. If a team has more than 4 members, some will have to wait in the stands (looking at you, Scooby-Doo and Tally Hall).
Tumblr poll will determine the winner of an individual fight via emotional support and gracious cookie donations.
Majority Wins. Whether or not a team would canonically win or lose the fight does not matter, only the number of votes.
Single Elimination.
Outside of the rules listed above, anything goes. Reblog a fight to get your friends on your side.
Propaganda is fair game. If you know perhaps a little too much about one of the teams and want to explain why your team should win, please submit an in-depth propaganda post to the blog homepage.
Spread the word! Your favorite might win! (Or not! I just run this thing!)

"Miracle in East Texas" is a 2019 family comedy film directed by Kevin Sorbo and starring Kevin Sorbo, John Ratzenberger, Louis Gossett Jr., Tyler Mane, Sam Sorbo, and Paula Boudreau. The movie is inspired by a true story and centers around two con-men during the Great Depression who scam lonely widows out of hundreds of dollars by promising them riches from oil wells that they know are dry. Notoriety in Oklahoma forces the two men to take their scheme to Cornville, Texas. However, in the midst of their deception, they actually strike oil, pitting them against jilted lovers, angry investors, and a no-nonsense judge. The movie premiered exclusively in select theaters on October 29 & 30th through Fathom Events.

Movie Review | Dolly Dearest (Lease, 1991)
I’m always interested in how porn directors adapt to mainstream features, and from a number of examples I’ve seen, you definitely notice difficulties with the pacing, when you have to fill up at least ninety minutes of runtime and don’t have the requisite sex scenes to pad it accordingly. And while I don’t think this is an especially good movie, nor one that particularly bears its director’s signature, I will say that Maria Lease doesn’t have the same problem, and in fact seems to take the horror elements quite ably. Between the windy nighttime scenes and the sweltering daytime scenes, there’s some pretty solid atmosphere to be found here, and at least one pretty gnarly kill gore gag involving a sewing machine.
This is a Child’s Play knockoff with a few distinguishing features. One, while all children’s dolls are creepy, this still looks believable, like something you might actually find in a toy store. Two, there is more than one doll, and some of the scares involve multiple dolls scuttling about and sneaking up on characters. Three, as the dolls get more evil, they get old and wrinkly for some reason. I’m not sure how intentional this was. Four, the premise involves a family moving to Mexico to take over a doll factory, which lends itself to some political commentary that the movie doesn’t quite flesh out.
As far as the family unit goes, the child actors are surprisingly not terrible, which is a big risk with these things. The daughter does a nice job sneering anytime she sees a cross or any display of religiosity, like I assume the atheist characters do in one of those Kevin Sorbo movies. And the son gets a badass one-liner when he blows away one of the dolls with a shotgun. What really sinks the movie are the surprisingly terrible adult performances. Sam Bottoms looks like his brain is still fried from ‘Nam, Denise Crosby is entirely wooden, and Rip Torn seemingly changes his accent multiple times over the course of a sentence. So maybe there’s fun to be had in that respect as well, although whatever empathy and nuances in perspective Lease brought to her porn work seem to be absent here. I’m a little disappointed that my exploration of Lease’s career is ending on this middling note, but the movie is not entirely without its charms.

I find this greatly offensive on a personal level! I am from a multi-generational family of teachers! My great-grand aunt, grandmother, mom, and brother were all public school teachers! Mom was a one-time president of the South Carolina Teacher's Association! She taught mostly middle school and high school classes. As a child, I remember every year she spent a lot of family money setting up her classroom. My parents were also very-much old-school Republicans!
Teachers have never been paid the wages they are worth, but were usually afforded great respect, at least until modern MAGAt Repugs climbed out of the scum pond of Fascism!

Get Thee Behind Me, Assbutts (Traducción)
Capítulo 8: Sober
Historia de @ladyknightskye
<- Anterior | Ao3 spa | Ao3 eng | Masterlist | Siguiente ->
—Bueno, no estoy esperando a nadie.
—Me gustas.
Ellen resopló mientras Bobby arqueaba una ceja.
—Bien.
Lastimaría a Gabriel.
Me gusta Dean. Él… él me recuerda a mí mismo. Me recuerda un poco a Michael. Yo… Lo extraño. —Miró a Ellen—. Y me gusta Jo. Ella . . .
—Aquí, cariño, ¿has comido?
—Yo no-
Ella sacudió su cabeza.
—¡No, escucha, chico ángel!
—No. No he comido.
Luego miró a Bobby.
No usó palabras, solo emociones.
Necesitaba arreglarlo.
—Aún así —murmuró Bobby—, aún así.
Lucifer finalmente le devolvió el abrazo.

[ad_1] "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" star Kevin Sorbo and his wife, actress Sam Sorbo, aren’t excited by the idea of artificial intelligence being used in Hollywood. The couple recently spoke with Fox News Digital about their new movie, "Miracle in East Texas," and shared their concerns about the potential use of AI in manipulating actors’ likenesses and performances. The pair run their own production company, Sorbo Studios, which produces family-friendly, faith-based entertainment."I've always wanted to do a movie of Marilyn Monroe and Marlon Brando, apparently now I'll be able to," Kevin said. "But, I don't think it would stand up in court that they could get away with that without paying the people." He continued, "We have to fight it… It's frustrating. I don't want to be on strike, but I understand the concept behind it, and hopefully it will get solved sooner than later."‘HERCULES’ ACTOR KEVIN SORBO SAYS HOLLYWOOD CANCELED HIM BECAUSE OF HIS CHRISTIAN BELIEFS Kevin Sorbo and his wife, Sam Sorbo, are worried about the use of artificial intelligence. (Michael Tran/Getty Images)Sam agreed with her husband’s comments. "I think AI is extraordinarily dangerous," she said. "It's not regulated, and I don't know if they even know how to regulate it, because it's so stealthy. And, you know, my daughter's an artist, and there's a big uproar in the art community because AI can reproduce any art with impunity and do whatever it wants to the art.JAMES DEAN REPORTEDLY APPEARING IN NEW FILM WITH AI, EXPERTS WEIGH IN ON BENEFITS FOR STARS AFTER DEATH"And this is what we are struggling with as actors as well. If they can just recreate this [gesturing towards Kevin] and make it do or say anything that they want, that's a very dangerous proposition."Kevin added, "They will, they’ll do it.""You know, the one thing that this country stands for is, basically bodily autonomy, like, we have freedom," Sam continued, adding that she believes the strike "is quite justified." According to the Sorbos, the strike by SAG-AFTRA is "justified" when it comes to the AI debate. (Steven Ferdman/Getty Images)Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) has been on strike since July 14, while the Writers Guild of America (WGA) has been on strike since May 2. The use of AI has been a major point of contention for both unions as they struggle to find an agreement with the studios.BACKGROUND ACTORS FEAR BEING TAKEN ‘ADVANTAGE OF’ BY AI, AS UNION AND STUDIO NEGOTIATIONS CONTINUE TO STALLThe WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) met on Aug. 11, with the AMPTP presenting its first counteroffer to the union’s demands.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERWATCH: 'Hercules' star Kevin Sorbo and wife Sam Sorbo explain why AI is 'extraordinarily dangerous'The union called out the studios’ negotiating group, saying in a letter to its members posted to its website this week that it accepted an invitation to meet with "[Disney CEO] Bob Iger, [Universal Pictures CCO] Donna Langley, [Netflix CEO] Ted Sarandos, [Warner Bros. Discovery CEO] David Zaslav and [AMPTP president] Carol Lombardini. It was accompanied by a message [from them] that it was past time to end this strike and that the companies were finally ready to bargain for a deal."CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP"We explained all the ways in which their counter’s limitations and loopholes and omissions failed to sufficiently protect writers from the existential threats that caused us to strike in the first place. We told them that a strike has a price, and that price is an answer to all — and not just some — of the problems they have created in the business." SAG-AFTRA joined the ongoing WGA strike last month. The WGA has had some meetings with the AMPTP, but there has been no movement in negotiations between the actors and studios. (Zamek/VIEWpress)The letter added that the guild was "met with a lecture about how good their single and only counteroffer was," and claimed that the AMPTP’s plan wasn’t to bargain with the guild, but to "jam us."AMPTP president Lombardini said in a statement on the group’s website, "Our priority is to end the strike so that valued members of the creative community can return to what they do best and to end the hardships that so many people and businesses that service the industry are experiencing. We have come to the table with an offer that meets the priority concerns the writers have expressed. We are deeply committed to ending the strike and are hopeful that the WGA will work toward the same resolution." [ad_2]
