Stina and Fitz hc part 2!
These are friendship hc but can also been seen as romantic ( @ohmygoly)
Stina has a habit of muttering to herself sometimes and Fitz can almost number catch what she's saying but he takes it pretty good
Fitz's leg will always have a limp (fight me Shannon) and Stina is perfectly aware of it (he's got a massive scar and has mentioned it himself) however all is the same in love and pillow fight wars
When Fitz feels comfortable he starts using his cane more often around Sterling Gables
Stina is allergic to affection and it's hilariously bad
She's obviously not actually allergic but she may as well be
She's a great person to ask for advice of picking a gift, HORRIBLE horrible person to ask for help giving a gift
Fitz has witness Stina chuck a midterm gift at Marella and Marella acted like it was a live bomb (she's bad at accepting gift)
When it comes to her birthday (fight me Shannon) Stina is a mess because A, she's hasn't had a birthday with friends since before she started Foxfire, she literally can't remember the last time she had a birthday and friends actually came but B, she's being shown way too much affection by people who aren't her parents and she's literally melting like the wicked witch of the farm
Fitz literally explained his gift to her because he thought the look on her face was confusion and not the violent emotional battle of Stina holding back tears realizing she's got real friends who know her well enough to pick really awesome gifts
Fitz was yapping his head off, Stina was trying not to cry and failing miserably
Maruca recorded
Stina picks up the phone pretty quickly to a lot of people's surprise and Fitz has gotten so used to her answering quickly he gets a little worried when the call goes to voicemail but figures she was busy with the horses (9 times out of 10 she was just busy and she has horse gossip to spill)
She's biased
Like so biased
It's not even subtle
Keefe breathes and Stina rolls her eyes but Fitz repeats himself twice because he thought no one heard him and Stina will give him her full attention even if they're in a big group
He asked for no pickles ahh friendship
The least neurodivergent horse girl and the most autistic little guy
Stina actually has friends the others don't know about and they've jokingly called themselves the Outcasts since at some point someone said you'd have to be an outcast to wind up with someone like Stina
The outcasts mostly consist of people Stina's met randomly throughout her life and they've had surprisingly civil interactions (it's almost like if Stina doesn't constantly feel the need to defend herself she's actually quite friendly)
The Outcasts have a special greeting using telekinesis to tug on each others pins when passing by the hallways at Foxfire and Fitz and Stina have made their own little special way of doing the Outcast greeting
Stina does great fast math but she fucking hates admiring she knows the answer meanwhile Fitz is determined to have his hand up
They sometimes hold hands and just like sit there while using their talents; Fitz reading Stina's thoughts and Stina reading Fitz's emotions
Sometimes they look like they're just sleeping or something and it's very silly but in truth they're chilling in their own little zone where Fitz and her are chatting in her mind and Fitz is remarking how much of his own emotions he can pick up from Stina's little thoughts
Stina has the funniest mental space Fitz has ever been in cause usually when he reads thoughts people have their own little head space and uniquish way their mind puts thoughts and shuffles things around
Stina has the ocean in her brain
Fitz thought it would be like a ranch or something but no he's under the water
Like literally there's little passing thoughts like schools of fish
Stina listened to the Little Mermaid soundtrack and it changed her brain chemistry
The snuggliest of snuggle buddies
They just look so cozy when they cuddle
Do not disturb they're resting
Stina's very straight forward with a lot of things and even more so with friends, they're her most precious treasures and she would rather explode the sun than lose them to some stupid misunderstanding and Fitz feels such a breath of fresh air when Stina will just get to the point with things
Fitz is considered an honorary Wayward by Stina which is a Neutral Territory word for someone who isn't exactly a citizen of the Territories but they're adjacent
Fitz is a pretty good listener but he always has a ton of questions but luckily Stina doesn't mind explaining them
He's horrible with hypotheticals and Stina will shake him silly while also cracking up because she asked him if he'd still love her if she was an imp and Fitz asked "why would you be an imp?"
He's so spoiled at the Heks house
Literally treated like a king but a beloved one not one worshiped from afar
Fitz comes over for just a simple hang out and he's all comfy in his chair with a bowl of fruit, his best friend, and a blanket
Stina, Fitz, and Maruca go on walks
No particular reason they just go around and walk and they chat and they giggle and sometimes they just sit and chat
It's how they find cool hang out spots for the next Horse Girl hang out
A lot of the time they're just walking and talking about literally anything and nothing and everything
Have I mentioned they're the true empath and telepath duo
I can't make this up they compliment each other so well
Stina doesn't tell Fitz to hide his anger or express it where she can't see
Despite being more sensitive to his emotions due to her talent Stina encourages Fitz to let it out, to talk about it, even if it's messy or the conversation goes sideways so they start shouting Stina's always stayed and embraced him when he needs it the most
Fitz has spent so long with all his emotions sitting in a weird spot and Stina helps him pick them up and let them out
She teaches him small empath tricks and Fitz realizes Stina's a pretty good teacher as she's patient and very adjustable
Can't say the same for Team V though lmao, they have to sign a damn term and conditions contract to peel any tiny bit of information out of her
Stubborn as a mule that one
Fitz gets a pass cause once again, Stina is unimaginably biased
Biana thinks this is bullshit but is also happy for her brother finding friends who care about him and understanding him in a way she, as his family, can't
She just wishes his choice of friends wasn't such a bullheaded Stina

⯎ SUBPLOT No. III — OUR LADY OF SORROWS ⯎
TW: blood, coarse language, violence
The Iron Maiden was a sumptuous creation of red brick and gold. It was a provocative smile throbbing in the near impenetrable shadow of evening, a host to the sensual explosion of swirling hips and a satin ribbon threaded through locks of braided hair. Mounted on its gabled rooftop, pillars of platinum light swirled overhead, a dozen sterling eyes piercing through the impassive mein of nightfall. The tachycardia of an evening in full-swing could be heard; the inside of the establishment was festooned with satin, silk, and semi-precious stones while the walls were painted a wicked shade of sangria.
Curtains of lace and velvet unspooled from the vaulted ceiling, their presence accentuated by the strategic placement of gaping windows and erotic frescoes. Overhead, a brass chandelier dangled from a single gold chain, its structure molded into the figure of a woman whose arms and legs were thrown upward as though she were grasping for salvation in the midst of free-fall. Balanced atop her flailing hands and feet were four large candles dripping fragrant wax.
A restive haze drifted above the heads of the establishment’s patrons, their slender cigarettes smelling of peppermint and cloves. Laughter and heated debates erupted from between the slight part in their mouths while their hands idled around a crystal tumbler or the narrow stem of an ancient wine. A lone figure wandered among them, edging its way between tables crowded with playing cards and gilded plates stacked high with half-eaten appetizers. The train of a long cape swept across the polished floor, narrowly missing the flat soles of glossy dress shoes and the swaying leg of a padded chair. The silhouette navigated the heart of the parlor with ease before disappearing behind a pair of large double doors – twin windows to another world that was far more silent than the one that had just been left behind.
Here, the aroma of mint and spices were exchanged for the dull perfume of old tapestries. The corridor was ribbed with silver suits of armour and an assortment of taxidermied heads mounted on old plaques. The exuberant din of entertainment faded with each footstep as the figure navigated the empty halls, her heavily lined eyes focused on the patterns that blurred beneath her feet. Filigrees and tassels merged into an endless stretch of dark wood until the cloaked figure came to a sudden stop before a square enclosure. The woman raised her hand and pressed her palm flat against the wall; a small cloud of dust fluttered upward before the panel gave, shifting no more than an inch before it dropped away. The woman squeezed through the gap and pressed onward into the encroaching darkness, maneuvering through the blackened labyrinth for what felt like an eternity before coming upon a spiral staircase whose metal steps descended further into the swollen darkness. Dropping a hand onto the banister, the woman made her way down the stairs until she stepped out onto an ever tighter path of cold stone.
Metal sconces burned with a ferocious light, their flames illuminating a jagged ceiling of pointed rock. The rugged walls opened up into a room furnished with a large table and rows of empty shelves, each one housing an assortment of jars and metal tools. She extended a hand, sweeping a slender finger down the length of a rubber handle before lifting the small cleaver off the shelf. She passed the object between her palms as she resumed her journey, edging towards a small corridor whose walls were lined with the cold iron bars of multiple holding cells. The sound of movement could be heard at the far end of the passageway as she approached, her heels skittering across the damp stone until she came to a stop before a rusted lock; on the other side, a male figure lay prone in a questionable state of undress. He continued to stir on the ground and then, coming to the sudden realization that he was being watched, he lurched to his feet and took hold of the bars.
“Bitch!” he snarled, saliva pooling around the corners of his mouth, “Let me out!” He shook the bars in a stubborn rage until exhaustion washed over him and he had no other choice than to slump against the iron.
The woman stepped forward and withdrew a small needle from an inner pocket, its golden edge shining bright in the dimly lit dungeon. “I can’t do that if you won’t cooperate,” she replied, dark eyes wandering over the length of his bloated torso. “Get up and give me your arm.” She bent low and extended her opposite hand, palm upturned and expectant.
“Fuck off,” he hissed. “Cut the shit already and just let me walk out of here.” His chains slithered across the stones as he rose up onto his knees and snatched the woman’s wrist from between the iron bars. He pulled her towards him and barked a vicious laugh as she struggled within his grasp, her face pressed flush against the frosted metal. “Knock it off already or I’ll fuckin’ kill you when I get out of here.” His grip tightened but a fraction before his fingers went slack and his mouth popped open in an anguished cry. The blunt edge of the needle pointed upward, its hollowed tip biting into the sweat-slick skin between his thumb and forefinger. He yanked the needle loose and jumped to his feet – the shock and pain disappeared from his face, scrubbed away by anger. “Bitch! Bitch! Bitch!” he bellowed, spitting something thick and green between her feet.
Something flickered in the woman’s eyes then — an incalculable rage that was there and then gone in an instant. The man had seen it and paused, his mouth dropping open, tongue wagging in desperate search of an apology. He had only just begun to form the first of many panicked syllables before the woman raised her hand and then brought it down in a smooth, sharp arc.
The cleaver cut into his neck and he dropped to the floor, a scarlet pool growing fast beneath his gaping throat. She stepped back as a ribbon of blood edged towards the pointed toe of her boot, its surface aglow in the sparse light. The bridge of her nose wrinkled as she turned away and dissolved into the shadows.
SPECIES SPOTLIGHT — VAMPIRES SUMMARY — Held in high esteem across the entirety of New England for its elaborate night-time performances and exclusive culture of indulgence, the Iron Maiden has become a place of immense interest for those looking to sate themselves on the fine art of fantasy and seduction. However, the lounge is host to something sinister — something wicked tucked away behind a veneer of exposed skin, expensive lace, and the smoke of imported cigarettes. - - , ## [blood mother] - - , ## [iron maiden] - - , ## [iron maiden] - - , ## [iron maiden] - - , ## [iron maiden] - - , ## [iron maiden]

Stina Biana dex sleepover
They hang out at Everglen during sleepovers with the triplets being too chaotic, and Biana and Dex being unable to sleep with all the animal noises at sterling gables
5 minutes in and there’s already been an explosion
Biana gives both of them makeovers
She convinces Stina to play hide n seek with them with the guise of stealth training
No surprise Biana wins
They gossip and make fun of the rest of the gang while painting each other’s nails
There’s a hole in the dining table after mixing the nail polish with random chemicals that Dex brought with him for Alchemy homework
They discover Stina’s an amazing cook after she bakes them mallowmelt during a bake off
Biana’s food somehow explodes even after she swears she followed the recipe exactly
They somehow end up on the roof around midnight with no way down
They form a rope out of their pajama’s and Dex climbs down to find a ladder
Alvar’s room ‘mysteriously’ catches fire later that night
Dex modifies all their imparters to access the internet and they watch vine and YouTube videos far an hour
Periodically throughout the night they continuously prank Fitz
Stina breaks multiple windows during a pillow fight
They don’t go to bed until 4 in the morning
Fitz gets no sleep the entire night

Oh, To Be Taken Care Of- A Stinella/Redheks Oneshot
(stinella oneshot because i think stinella is the most underrated ship out there)
The stormy gray clouds rumbled overhead, raindrops relentlessly sprinting down to the ground. The white-capped mountains in the distance towered above the rolling green fields and the silver crystal mansion that was Sterling Gables. Stumbling up the hill were two girls, one leaning on the other’s shoulder and sobbing into the burgundy fabric of the other girl’s tunic.
“Almost there,” Stina whispered to the sobbing girl, wrapping her into a tighter embrace. Just one more minute, then you’ll be safe.
Stina looked up at the glowing windows of Sterling Gables, a figure of her mom peering outside at the two girls. Stina only saw a shadow of her mother, but she already could tell she was frowning.
Stina furrowed her brow. When she reached the main path, instead of following it to the doorstep, she trailed off toward the woods. Rain-soaked pine trees that Stina knew all too well nodded in acknowledgment to the girl who had taken refuge beneath those green leaves too many times to count.
The sobbing girl sniffled and looked up with bloodshot ice-blue eyes. “Where are we going?”
“A place to warm up,” Stina answered, holding the blonde girl tighter against her shoulder. Her eyes narrowed in determination; her mind saw the task of getting Marella safely under a warm roof as a challenge. And Stina Heks never backed away from a challenge.
The faint, warm glow of the building Stina was looking for glowed against the drenched pine trees. Stina picked up her pace, Marella’s small body still nestled into hers, and reached the wooden door to the abandoned unicorn stables. She threw it open and ducked inside.
The stables smelled like a mix of a crackling fire and a bunch of stale unicorn poop, but the place had an air of comforting atmosphere that was hard to explain. Maybe it was the familiarity of the place to Stina, or maybe it was the knowledge that nobody but Stina could ever come here, because nobody would ever think to check.
Stina rested Marella’s tiny figure on a stack of hay, sitting down next to her and caressing her cheek. Red and puffy eyes looked up, so weak and empty of hope, that Stina felt a part of her cold, dead heart grow life, only to be broken once again.
“Where are we?” Marella croaked, relaxing ever so slightly into Stina’s touch.
“The old stables,” Stina informed, gesturing at the old wooden walls desperately in need of a paint job. “Nobody will find us here.”
A stray tear dripped from Marella’s freckled cheek, falling onto the stack of hay below. “You promise?”
“I promise. And I’m sorry.”
Marella’s red eyes narrowed and she backed away from Stina’s warm hand. “Why?”
“Because I wish you didn’t have to endure all the things you carry.” Stina growled at the thought of the scene in the hallway, the scene where Sophie dropped Marella like a hot rock, the scene where she didn’t even bother to ask Marella if she was holding up like she was oblivious to just how much stuff Marella-
Marella’s lips quirked upward into some sort of sad smile. “I manage.”
“You shouldn’t have to.” Stina could feel her eyes well up with tears. Tears for the girl who tried so hard, fought like hell, but always seemed to be picked last.
“You shouldn’t have to take care of me like I’m a child, but here we are.” A sound that sounded something like a cross between a whimper, a cry, and a laugh escaped from Marella’s lips.
Stina forced a smile, even though her heart felt like it was being ripped out of her chest. “It’s not childish to be taken care of.”
Marella granted Stina a snort of sarcasm and Stina’s heart healed and shattered a little bit at the same time just hearing the hint of humor in Marella’s voice. “It sure feels like it.”
“Who told you it was childish? To be taken care of?” Stina propped herself up with one elbow resting on the haybale.
Marella opened her mouth, but nothing came out. “A voice deep down, I guess.”
Stina smiled. “Tell the voice to deepthroat a cactus then.”
A laugh bubbled up from Marella’s throat, making Stina’s heart swell with pride. I did that. I made her feel better. No one else. “I’ll try that. Thanks.” Marella’s eyelids drooped a little and she flopped onto the stack of hay. “Can I..um-”
“Rest? You don’t have to ask me,” Stina teased. Marella rolled her eyes and closed them, resting her small head on her hands.
“Rest well, Marella,” Stina whispered into Marella’s freckled ear before she started to snore.

@ohmygoly you're in for a treat today
I have a personal HC that Timkin and Tiergan actually knew each other cause like there is no way on Timkin 'I was banished for taking an ability and then was allowed back into society to graduate with my class' Raynes (his last name before he married Vika) did not get some big ass Black Swan meeting
Like guys Timkin had to be on the Five o'Clock news often enough this guy was messy (he'd have the cutest mugshot though😌🙏)
Anyway the reason I say this is because I think there was a peaceful enough time where Tiergan and his 'not a polycule' would come over to Sterling Gables and just hang out, sit on the porch swing and talk
Vika was never told of Tiergan and Prentice's involvement with the Black Swan nor was she explicitly told about Timkin but...well she's a smarter cookie than most as she has the ability of common sense and putting two plus two together to make four.
Jurek (he's Stina's older brother) is a bit older than Wylie and then they were just little boys the two would play around, splash around in rivers, pester their dads and goof around. Honestly life was so calm back then you'd never expect what would happen to happen
Wylie met Stina when she was just a wee baby, literally newly born before the Endals and the Heks went their separate ways and life went downhill real fast, a little too fast and life was just never the same again
Stina and Wylie have a weird and complicated relationship because on the one hand their families used to secretly be close and Wylie was friends with Jurek but on the other hand Stina couldn't even remember Wylie much less have any deep connection with him beyond stories she was told
This causes a rift in their relationship as a lot of stuff is never really spoken between the two and the weirdness of it all just gets bigger than Stina and Maruca become friends because Stina would occasionally see Wylie around from time to time. When Sophie gets kidnapped/presumed dead Stina is at the funeral and actually cries (it's complicated) and at some point she leaves to visit her aunt Silla who is a wanderling now but in her hysterical state she gets lost and her feet wind up leading her to Cyrrah and by extent, Wylie
Stina hugs Wylie and kind of cries and it sits as this almost sweet moment between the two before it's broken by Tiergan calling out for Wylie and Stina running off
Later when Team V is formed Stina seems to be back to treating Wylie the same as the rest, with animosity and like she constantly has to be armed with a snarky remark to shoot back but after a training exercise as a team goes a little off the rails and Stina and Wylie have a big argument ending with Stina storming off and later having a talk with Dex of all people she goes to Wylie to apologize for a lot of what she said and explain herself and afterwards they slowly but surely get to the point where Stina takes her usual jabs at Wylie but Wylie just takes it in stride
It's a bumpy journey and to be fair a lot of stuff that happened was completely out of their control but they do end up having a pretty solid friendship

My March Books
Hi! Everyone these are the books I have read this month, there are 8 of them. As you can see most of them are romances short stories, and a mystery. As always I have the Goodreads links for you to check out:
Snowed Inn (Freedom Valley#6) (Erin Branscom): The last installment of this series had glimpses of our couples from the previous books and introduced us to a new one with great chemistry and a love for food. Holly was funny, spunky, and a great cook and Beau was the perfect example of a grumpy exterior and soft interior protagonist with a painful past. I also loved the side characters of Hank, Beau’s brother, and Ophelia, Holly’s best friend, and their respective romance. I want a short story of their relationship after this book so that I can return to Freedom Valey. I liked that this book was in the winter and the Golden Gable Inn and the scenes with Sasha, the cook, and the igloos in the yard. I recommend all the series. You can only read this one but the whole series is amazing.
Lemon Meringue Pie Murder (Hannah Swenson #4) (Joanne Fluke): I like this series of cozy mysteries as I love Hannah Swenson and her family in Lake. I like the recipes the author gives every five chapters or so. I like that the mysteries are easy and if you think a little you can help Hannah solve them. I loved in all of them to see how Hannah’s relationships with her neighbors are faring, especially those with Mike and Norman. I loved her little sister Michelle whom we were introduced to in this one. Overall, it was a delightful book to read.
The Undercover Santa (Spying on Love #1) (Jo Davies): That was a fun short story with a double point of view and a fun open ending. I read both in the same morning on my commute to work, so it was a great and fun start for me.
The Undisclosed Panda (Spying on Love #2) (Jo Davies): The second part of the previous story with a happy ending and unexpected twists, but not too many for a six-chapter short story, to the story's mystery. It was a great detour of the tea district in Shanghai too, as the two go there to solve the mystery and have their first date.
Pardon My French Press (Coffee Loft #2) (J. P. Sterling): The second short story of the Coffee Loft series was based in New York City, which I loved as it was a good development of the characters and the shop itself. I liked the personalities of the two protagonists, Portia and Christian, who have a sense of humor with lots of sarcasm. I loved the relationships of the two protagonists with their families and neighbors. It is a classic enemies-to-friends-to-lovers romance in a coffee shop in New York something that made it special to me as one of my films, You’ve Got a Mail. I will recommend it to someone who is searching for something small to it.
A Pinch of Salt (Lucy Marin): This retelling of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice set in a Canadian cooking show was pretty good and has the preceptive of many of the characters, especially those who participate in the competition. I loved that the author did not include the affair between Lydia and Wickham but had their characters as close to them as she could in these circumstances.  It also has the main themes and the personalities of the characters are the same as the original. It was really with good description of the food and the emotions of the two protagonists. It was a good modern retelling of a classic.
The Sitcom Star (Chu’s Restaurant #1) (Jackie Lau): This was a cute novella with two former classmates who reacquainted and started to spend time together. The difference in the novella is that the female protagonist is a famous star of an Asian- American sitcom which she produces and writes the script. I loved the fun and cute moments the protagonists had with each other, their friends, and their families too.
The Reluctant Heartthrob (Chu’s Restaurant #2) (Jackie Lau): This cute novella and second story of this series surrounds the male protagonist of the series who is a grumpy Shakespeare-loving actor. The female protagonist is a data scientist who might have autism but she hasn’t had a formal review, so she doesn’t know for sure. I loved the representation in this one and the relationship between them as I love the grumpy/ sunshine type of books.

🏠 - If you could live in any of the elven residences, which would you choose?
Sterling Gables! I remember it being described as the most homey and lived in of all the residences, and it just feels like it'd be super warm and cozy. Also, unicorns my beloved.
