the morally questionable relationship between John Price and the darling little starlet he picks up off of the street during the golden age of Hollywood would be such a treat.

because producer!John Price is known as the best of the best in Hollywood. He has an eye for talent, they say, and a keen ability for spotting the diamonds amongst the rubble.

And of all the stars in the world, he sets his sights on you. Pretty little thing. Bright and blinding—Betelgeuse glimmering on the precipice of a supernova. All you need is a little push. A backer. A chance. And he gives it to you. Ushers you into stardom with a crooked grin around the butt of a cigar and a wicked gleam in his eyes that you—in all your artless, sheltered naivete—chalk up to pride.

The problem with sweet little darlings like you is that they all sing the same song. Yearn for the same thing. And it's so easy to mistake his interest as fatherly when the name on your birth certificate reads John Doe. And when he tells you his name is John Price, well—

It's fate, isn't it?

He told you he's been married once but had no children, and the longing in his eyes must be for the family he's never got a chance to have. So, you promise to give it to him.

Problem is: the devil lives in Hollywood and drinks his whiskey neat. You told him you'd be his family, giving him the one that left him behind. Signed your soul to blue eyes for the big screen.

Not that you'd know this, of course. To you, John is a sad widower with a heart of gold. Your overprotective bear who snarls at the directors and actors who get a little too handsy with you on set. His darling little star.

It's easy to wave everyone off when they express concern about these blurring lines between employee and employer. Boss and—

Father figure.

They just don't know him like you do.

And how funny, you tell him one evening with a wry twist to your lips, eyes swimming with sheltered mischief. They thought we were lovers, Mr Price. Isn't that just the damnedest thing?

This little quip has the opposite effect, and if only you looked a little bit closer at the gleam in his eye, the clench in his jaw, you might have seen the storm gathering on the horizon before it hit. Instead of laughing with you at the director's gall, this hilarious joke, John feels you slipping through his fingers just a little bit more. And that simply won't do.

You want a father figure? Then fine. That's what he'll be. Convenient, of course, because he's been thinking about fatherhood a lot lately, too. It's only natural that he decides to cash in on that promise you made all those years ago to make him a proud dad.

Yeah there's mice in the walls and ceiling and it's far too large a problem to put off or take care of on our own with a few traps. I live with my grandma, grandpa, and granny, and all four of us are disabled and can't work, so we have very little money and many problems requiring money, it's quite a pinch. Need to start getting pest control ASAP so I'm opening commissions in the hope of easing the financial strain as much as I can.

Paypal is my only way of accepting payment right now. I will expect payment in full via invoice after I have provided a sketch for feedback purposes & proof of work. Once payment is received, artwork will be completed as soon as possible. If an issue on my end prevents me from completing the work in a timely manner, full or partial refunds can be discussed depending on the state of the work done.

My prices can be haggled with, but at a baseline I estimate:

Coloured Fullbody -> 30 USD/43 CAD

Coloured Headshot/Bust -> 15 USD/22 CAD

Sketch Fullbody -> 10 USD/15 CAD

Sketch Headshot/Bust -> 5 USD/7 CAD

*Coloured works may be lineless or lined

Free Additions: simple accessories (eg glasses, some jewellery), simple minimal shading, some simple props (+ won't charge extra for disability aids/accessibility items), request a specific style I've used in past works

Additions at Extra Charge (discussed on a case-by-case basis): extra characters/extra artwork, complex time-consuming designs/outfits/props/poses, Extra Extra Clean lineart, scene elements, full & layered shading based on light sources, background scenery

I can do custom designs but expect prices to be higher for the extra time and work

Vetos: I will not take human/majority humanoid or complex mech comms right now as that is a great deal more work for me that I don't feel I can currently fulfill up to my own standard of quality (may change as I get a sense for my current limitations). I don't draw NSFW or fetish content in any circumstances. May reject comms I'm personally uncomfortable with

Specialty: Any variety of animals, creatures, monsters, and etc. Extant, extinct, fantasy, mashup. Especially if feral, but most anthro characters will also do.

When the artwork/design comm is payed for and done, it belongs to the commissioner to do what they want with. Credit is requested, if on toyhouse I'm Tala2121.

of the many injustices put forth toward the show by fans i think the most overall damaging and telling of a complete lack of critical viewership is the idea that sam riegel builds his characters with nothing more than the bit in mind. like you are only telling on yourself if you think characters like scanlan shorthalt and veth brennato are one-dimensional and depthless

brainrotting about willowrine rn and i started to think of that teacup scene and. what its implying.

caroline grabbed a teacup from willow's kitchen with her ribbon and then proceeded to take a sip from it only moments after.

this either means:

a.) in those few seconds, caroline spedran through putting hot water and a teabag into the cup, and is now just basically sipping hot water because the tea hasn't gotten a chance to steep

b.) she didn't put anything. she's just pretending to take a sip

c.) willow already has tea made but that's not funny. but we can salvage this with caroline fumbling the tea kettle and spilling tea everywhere in a hurry to pull her ribbon trick off and look cool™ in front of her old rival/crush/whatever the fuck's going on with them

Guys what the fuck.

My campus now had two lifts not working (one has been out of service for like almost a month now) and the third lift only goes up to the third floor. my class is on the fourth floor. My class is also Critical Issues in Disability. this sounds like a critical issue to me. Plus, this is the room I have to wait in at the moment

UPDATE: the class is being moved somewhere more accessible, instead of the fourth floor. Now I feel awkward for making it a big deal but also now I’m happy because I might’ve just brought attention to something maybe people haven’t noticed before? I don’t know how to feel but it’s some feeling

his glasses rest against the bridge of his nose and the fan whirs quietly in the background. the gentle breezes as the blades twirl makes the edges of the pages lift from the book he’s reading. he has not moved from his spot in half an hour, there’s a few reasons he would spout off if asked.

he’s reading, can’t you see? he’s very deeply invested in this book that he couldn’t tell you the name of or what happened in the last thirty pages. the next excuse would be that he’s comfortable where he’s at, the couch is comfortable but he’s been there all morning and the telltale twitch of his foot tells a different story. the last excuse is him ignoring whoever is asking. he would turn his head away while the tips of his ears turn red and he inhales sharply.

if looking it isn’t very hard to see the reason he has made a new home on the couch. right in plain sight is a sleeping figure. her head rests on his chest (originally his shoulder but she kept moving and seemed uncomfortable) and her chest rises and falls gently. if watching long enough a bystander would catch him smiling softly as he looks down at her and tucks a piece of hair gently behind her ear. this is his peace after a tiring week. he comes home to her and she comes home to him, the two tangle together on the couch where he’ll pretend to read his book and she’ll pretend to not fall asleep.

it may not be everyone’s perfect moment but it’s theirs and that’s enough for them. his reading glasses slip down his nose when he picks his head back up from looking at her and with small motion he sets the book and his glasses on the glass side table. he carefully slides down the couch and closes his own eyes. the fan continues to blow a gentle breeze and hum quietly as the blades spin above them. this is their peace.

Honestly if like. Isafrin or isilloop or any of them had kids in any way one day. Loop would be the shovel talk parent and they would throw a mug at whoever the kid brought home.

Not even necessarily like. Because they’d be strict I just don’t think anyone else (besides odile) would do that and they’d decide someone had to at the very least.

It’s just. It’s set in my mind loop would give the most intimidating shovel talk ever to some poor kid. Imagine talking to your partners parents and everyone’s really nice to you and it’s scary cause they’re the saviors but otherwise okay and then this fucking creature pulls you aside and threatens to hunt you down if you fuck up even slightly (or kiss in front of them cause loop voice. Ew). That’s terrifying.

This isn't really about parents that let you live with them so long as you're pursuing education or pitching in to the best of your abilities, there's a big difference between asking your capable adult child to help keep the roof over everyone's head and treating your grown kids as tenants especially if your wallet isn't hurting.
