So this is your friendly reminder that a certain heroic part of Sam’s and Fingon’s narratives are the same. To summarize:
✅ Best friend is captured
✅ Go to dark fortress to save best friend
✅ Cannot find best friend
✅ Sing a cool song
✅ Best friend hears song and sings with you
✅ Find best friend and save him
Maybe somehow, in a way, even though the time, language, and situation were very different, they sang the exact same song.

A bit of a test at comic paneling, which I've never done before! Also serves as a sort of partial introduction and trial run for some OC designs. Maybe more parts to follow!

Sometimes I literally space out and lose like half an hour of my life thinking about how much I hate fn@f. I really try not to let myself linger on anything that bugs me that hard because it's such a waste of energy, but it's just so goddamn inescapable as a part of internet culture that makes it really really hard to not just sit here and enter a fugue state where I can do nothing but think about how bromine didn't actually bother writing a cohesive story for his games and just threw out a mishmash of ideas, called it "lore" and let the internet do his work for him.

pardon! what is a ghost?
Thanks for asking! They're a type of desktop toy that can take many forms! Typically it is a character or set of characters that appear on your desktop, and will say things to you every couple of minutes. Some of them have hidden content to unlock, some of them have little functions they can do like emptying your recycle bin, some have more intricate features like music players and minigames, and some just have a lot of idle dialogue!
They originate from Japan, but anyone can make one of anything and in any language! There's a lot of variety out there.
If you want to learn more about them, there's a good video with an overview here:
youtube
We also have a whole wiki dedicated to English ghosts, and you can find all of my personal creations over on my website! I love these things a lot, and I've made several of them. Here's some previews to give you an idea.

It's a lot of fun! If any of that sounds interesting to you, I highly recommend checking it out. We're kind of a niche little community, but I think we have something really special if it's what strikes your fancy.

Song Review: Steep Canyon Rangers - “Deep End”
“Deep End” is the most purely bluegrass thing the Steep Canyon Rangers have done in ages.
Sure, drums drive the throttle-down number, but fiddle sawin’ and banjo and mandolin pickin’ are the hallmarks of this sub-three-minute quick hit.
Where the music hits all the right notes, the lyrics are lazy, leaning on such clichés as:
Hit the ground runnin’ / batten down the hatches / threw caution to the wind / grab a tiger by the tail / sinking’ or swimmin’ / like a bull in a china shop
Among others.
So while “Deep End” - which follows “Hominy Valley” ahead of Morning Shift’s Sept. 8 arrival - sounds refreshing on these early listens, it’s virtually guaranteed to go stale rather quickly.
Grade card: Steep Canyon Rangers - “Deep End” - C+

aah!! aah!! anxiety spiral over cars. got too long with no paragraph breaks so it goes under a readmore. out of kindness
took a shower and then just sat there thinking about how much freedom i could have if i could drive and how to be able to drive. increasing my ankle stability so i don't lose control of my foot and die. improving my adhd so i don't get distracted by a butterfly or perhaps a playful bird and die. improving my autism so i don't get overwhelmed by sensory information and all the things i have to remember while driving so i don't have a panic attack and cause a ten-car pileup and die. improving my situational awareness so i don't kill someone and also die. going to the eye doctor to figure out why my vision's getting worse so i can read signs in the distance and see other cars so i don't kill someone or die or get arrested. finding an instructor who is kind and patient enough to teach a toddler who is terrified of scissors how to use them because the scissors are a deadly metal machine that kills multiple people every single day. that's where i'm at

We had a Puke Bucket -> 🪣. It lived under the kitchen sink until it was called up from the reserves to stand sentry at the sick person's bedside, waiting to fulfil its noble purpose.
OK this question has been bugging me all morning so y'all please let me know
bc ours did nd I never thought much of it as a kid but know I'm thinking about it and it feels kinda gross? so pls tell me if this experience was universal or not it will haunt me forever otherwise
