Jenny woke with a faint gasp, just in time to see the illusory dust particles rising from her chest sparkle and fade. She watched them with detached interest. Her chest! Her heart beat again, strong and steady like it had never been stopped. She brushed her fingers against cool stone, wiggled her toes, cracked her neck, and rolled her shoulders.

And grinned. Her body was in working order, and it was good to be alive! She hopped up and dashed out of the mausoleum. The people backed away from her, murmuring to themselves. She paid them no attention. If she could just find Martha, Donna, and the Doctor, to tell them she was alive... They were the only people she knew, and they were good people. Her instincts told her she could believe that with all her heart.

Jenny found the shuttle easily and scanned the skies before booting it up, but found no signs of them or the blue box they called the TARDIS. She felt a sharp stab of disappointment, and let it go.

Maybe they meant to come back. Maybe they were taken away. Maybe she could find them again.

It didn’t matter. There was no way she could stay on this small world, she thought. Not when there was a big wide universe out there. There was no time to waste. I have a mission, she thought. I am the Doctor’s daughter. I’ll have adventures, and save lives, and do an awful lot of running—

Now where should her first planet be? Someplace populated, she thought, and within reach. Jenny prepared for takeoff, flipped the last few dials and switches, and closed her hands over the controls. Koke’e State Park || This “trail” day is a mixed back of everything- some strolling, hiking, etc... we checked out the Waimea Canyon to start, and I swear this place is FAKE! It’s so majestic, and sure, Grand Canyon is cool and all... but you can’t admire *it* this close unless you’re hopping on some boujee heli tour. 

Next stop is the Kalalau Lookout, which J described as a place “he cannot take off of his head” and I can honestly understand. I’ve heard from others who’s been here that they did not see the lookout this clear- it’s usually misty and foggy- so I guess we were blessed with a great weather to do this!

We attempted to hike the Waipoo Falls trail from the Canyon trailhead but we were trying to gauge the time we have left before our next activity, so we decided to cut it short. We did not see the falls unfortunately, but we’ll be feasting our eyes later on on waterfalls...

I did not want to turn around as the hike all the way to the falls has this view of the Canyon. It was really HOT and J and I realized we were going on the wrong direction when we realized there weren’t people hiking with us anymore haha.

I also noticed that this hike was more a descent going to the destination, so I was even more pensive to be going the harder way back, especially when we did not see the falls  ☹

J was really trying to cheer me up on this picture but I was being a brat! Haha... maybe next time, we’ll have another shot at the Waipoo Falls!

Time constraints did not give us the chance to go back to our hotel and shower, so J decided to bathe on the nearby Steelglass Beach, which I thought  was pretty cool! I mean, it kind of helps to know that your boyfriend is washing himself with soap at the beach but...
