Life changed a lot after Nanami Kento came into it.
Nights alone in your apartment feasting on cup ramen with microwaved broccoli (for your health obviously), turned into homemade dinners under candlelight. The long ride to work in the back of an Uber turned into riding in the passenger seat of Nanami’s luxury car, hands intertwined over the middle console. Quick showers turned into long, steaming baths with essential oils. Winding down from a long day turned from nights out at the bar to nights in under the covers while he softly reads to you.
“Darling, hey, wake up,” you hear Nanami whisper in your ear as you feel your shoulders shake lightly. You groan in protest, not wanting to be broken away from the warmth and smell of him all around you.
“I know, I know,” he softly chuckles, “but we need to get ready for bed properly.”
You nuzzle into his side more and wrap your arms around him. Squeezing him slightly, you take one long, dramatic inhale of his scent in the crook of his neck, fluttering your eyelashes to give him butterfly kisses.
“What are you doing?,” he laughs, “It tickles!”
“Just taking some for the road,” you smile into his skin.
“You’re such a dork.”
With Nanami, everything always seems to be taken care of. There is no need to over-extend your brain power, because once a thought or worry passes through, you know it’s been meticulously mulled over by your other half.
Your appointments are scheduled and on the calendar. Your laundry is clean and neatly put away in the proper place. Your memories and photos are filed and categorized, with some of your favorites even framed and displayed in your home and offices. Your books, CDs and other media are sorted alphabetically in pristine condition.
“But wouldn’t it be cool if they were categorized by, I dunno, color? We could make a rainbow wall!” you suggest as you marvel at his work.
Nanami, who is currently kneeling on the floor putting the last of your books on the shelf, turns and gives you a disapproving glare, “Absolutely not. It would be a disservice to your collection.”
“A disservice to my collection?”
“What happens when a series contains books of all different colored covers? Am I supposed to just separate them?”
You blink.
“You’re right. I apologize for even suggesting something so foul.”
But, most importantly, over everything, your body, mind, and soul are finally at ease. Past anxieties rarely present themselves anymore, and, if they do, you never dwell. People say you’re glowing, and they aren’t wrong. Your skin is clear, your hair is shiny and smooth. Your favorite clothes fit a little better, and your shoes are always polished to look brand new.
“Nananmi Kento looks good on you, girl,” Shoko muses, watching you over her lunch in the breakroom.
You smirk, daring not to look across the table to conserve your blush, “Feels good too.”
“Gross!”
You curl over in laughter as Shoko chucks a strawberry at your head.
All this and more, because Nanami cares, protects, cherishes, and respects you. He would never, ever in a million years try to hurt you in any way. He is honest and loyal, vowed by his duty to be a man. Ever since he was young, he put immense thought into its meaning, only to be confirmed by one look at you.
One look and he knew that you were the one he would spend the rest of his life with.
“I think I should take you out on a date, if you don’t mind of course,” Nanami stutters, gently pulling you aside after one of your meetings.
“You think we should date?” you question, head reeling.
“Yes,” he starts, “I think we’ve been friends for long enough and it’s time to move forward with our relationship.”
The disbelief you feel must be painted on your face because Nanami’s normally pale skin is flushed cherry red just looking at you.
“I mean, long term,” he’s babbling now, “I want to make you my wife. Well, I wanted you to be my wife from the beginning, you’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen, but they always say the best relationships start from friendships, so I thought it would be best to take our time. Naturally, now is as good a time as any. We’re at good places in our careers, we already spend a lot of time together, our personalities mesh, and, I don’t mean to be coarse, but I think we’d look pretty good tog-"
Before your mind has a chance to catch up, you’re already cutting him off with a passionate kiss, arms wrapping around his neck to pull him down close to you. After a beat, you feel Nanami’s broad, warm hands grab hold around your waist, pulling you to him.
His lips feel so soft, and more plush than you anticipated. You part yours slightly in an invitation, and he’s quick to swipe his tongue against your bottom lip. You reciprocate and smile when you feel the vibrations of a small moan escape him.
You break the kiss first.
“I’d marry you yesterday if I could, Kento.”
Where he ebbs, you flow. With the few traits he lacks, you flourish. In social settings, you pick up when he doesn’t have the bandwidth to keep going. You can read his mind from his body language alone. You've shown him how to aim for the ideal, even when his pragmatic nature leads the way. You’ve taught him to slow down, even when life is relentlessly shoving him along.
“Kento, are you- are you crying?” you question in shock.
It’s difficult to process the information in front of you. You’re not seeing things, right? That’s definitely a tear falling down his cheek. Quickly, you bring your thumb to his face, swiping it away.
Catching your wrist, he brings your pulse point to his lips, giving you a small kiss there.
Here, feet in the white sand of the island of Redang, under the dark, starry sky, Kento goes down to kneel before you.
Recognizing the gesture, your heart swells and all the air leaves your lungs. Both your hands immediately cover your mouth, and the burn of tears forming ignites behind your eyes.
Through the blur, you see him smile.
Regaining composure over your senses, you remind yourself to take everything in. The way his honey-brown eyes reflect the lights in the distance, the way his open collar ruffles in the breeze, the appearance of the new freckles from the Malaysian sun that decorate his exposed chest, how his unstyled, blonde hair moves freely, how one of his hands takes both of your own, while the other holds out a breathtakingly beautiful solitaire diamond ring.
Your eyes take him all in and land back on his face, one that displays the most loving, adoring expression you’ve ever received.
“When you came into my life, everything changed. I knew, from that point forward, I would dedicate my existence to ensuring your happiness. Nothing matters to me more than seeing you smile. It gives me purpose—fills the air in my lungs. I have never, and will never need anything more.”
You watch the tears cascade down his cheeks, mirroring your own.
“Please do me the honor of marrying me and making you my wife.”
One second passes, and you squeal, “Yes!”
a/n: This was supposed to be smutty and turned into something fluffy. I can't help it! I just adore him so much. also, how do we feel about this format? I've never done something like this before!

Fortune Cookies | CS55
Pairing: Carlos Sainz x reader (you)
Author's note: I'm trying something a little bit different with shorter form fics, so please send through any requests or feedback. These one shots will likely not have a second part unless it really speaks to me to continue with it. Thank you!
Masterlist
Carlos and Chinese food became synonymous with comfort and joy for you. No matter how hectic or exhausting the day had been, the mere thought of those savoury aromas wafting from the takeout containers lifted your spirits. It wasn't just about the food; it was about the ritual, the shared moments of relaxation and indulgence after the daily grind.
You'd often find yourself craving the familiar flavours of General Tso's chicken, beef and broccoli, or shrimp fried rice. It was your guilty pleasure, your ultimate comfort food wrapped up in those neatly packed cartons. And even on those rare occasions when everything seemed to go smoothly, when the world felt like it was on your side, you still found yourself yearning for that unmistakable taste of Chinese cuisine.
But for Carlos, it was a bit of a dilemma. His dedication to his strict diet clashed with your unwavering love for Chinese food. While he meticulously monitored his calorie intake and adhered to his fitness regimen, you were more than happy to indulge in your favourite dishes without a second thought. Yet, despite the disparity in your dietary habits, Carlos never once complained. Instead, he embraced your love for Chinese food with unwavering support and a touch of humour.
He'd jokingly remark about how he'd need to cycle a few extra kilometres to burn off the excess calories from the sweet and sour chicken or the tempting spring rolls. His commitment to both his health and your happiness was evident in his willingness to compromise, to go the extra mile—quite literally—to accommodate your cravings.
And so, evenings became a ritual of unwrapping those familiar containers, the aroma of soy sauce and spices filling the air as you settled in for a cosy meal together. It wasn't just about the food anymore; it was about the laughter, the conversations, and the shared moments that made those Chinese takeout nights so special.
As you stepped out of the shower, enveloped in a cloud of steam, the enticing aroma of Chinese cuisine greeted you like an unexpected embrace. Confusion flickered across your face as you entered the kitchen to find Carlos unpacking an array of dishes, his expression carrying a mischievous glint you couldn't quite decipher.
Your eyebrows knitted together in bewilderment as you took in the spread before you. It was the familiar feast of Chinese delicacies you adored, laid out invitingly on the kitchen counter. But something about the way Carlos was beaming at you hinted that this was no ordinary takeout night.
“What's all this?” you asked, a puzzled expression creasing your brow as you stepped into the kitchen, the scent of Chinese food mingling with the steam from your recent shower. “I thought we were making pasta for dinner?”
Carlos chuckled softly, his eyes sparkling with amusement as he turned to face you, the corner of his lips curling into a playful smile.
“Well, I may have had a change of plans,” he admitted, a hint of mystery dancing in his gaze.
Your curiosity piqued, you watched as he gestured towards the array of Chinese delicacies spread out on the counter, the colourful containers beckoning enticingly.
“I couldn't resist surprising you,” he confessed, his tone infused with excitement.
A smile tugged at the corners of your lips as you took in the unexpected feast before you, the tantalising aromas tempting your taste buds.
“You sneaky devil,” you teased, a flicker of amusement glinting in your eyes as you realised the extent of Carlos's surprise.
But beneath the playful banter, you felt a swell of gratitude wash over you, touched by his thoughtfulness and the effort he'd gone to make this night special. It didn't matter that your dinner plans had taken an unexpected turn; what mattered was the gesture—the spontaneous act of love that had turned an ordinary evening into something extraordinary.
As you surveyed the assortment of Chinese dishes laid out before you, your gaze fell upon a pair of fortune cookies nestled among the containers—a surprising addition to the usual fare. You couldn't help but raise an eyebrow in bemusement, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips as you realised that Carlos had orchestrated this evening down to the smallest detail, including an unexpected twist.
"Fortune cookies?" you remarked, a hint of laughter lacing your words as you picked up one of the crisp, golden cookies, its edges delicately folded like a secret waiting to be revealed. "You really went all out, didn't you?"
Carlos grinned in response, his eyes alight with mischief as he reached for the other cookie, the anticipation palpable in the air. "I thought it might be something fun for a change," he admitted, his voice tinged with excitement.
With a shared glance brimming with anticipation, you cracked open the cookies simultaneously, the brittle shells yielding to reveal the tiny slips of paper hidden within.
As you read the message from your fortune cookie, a playful grin tugging at your lips, Carlos watched you with a mixture of anticipation and excitement, his heart pounding in his chest.
“What does it say?” he asked eagerly, his voice tinged with a hint of nervousness. You couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of the message, the words dancing across the slip of paper in your hand.
“You are destined to marry the person across from you,” you replied, amusement colouring your tone as you set the paper down on the counter.
Carlos's laughter echoed yours, relief washing over him as he reached for his own fortune cookie, fingers trembling slightly with anticipation.
"That's so weird," he remarked, his eyes sparkling with a mixture of humour and affection.
With a shared glance filled with curiosity, you watched as he cracked open the cookie, the brittle shell yielding to reveal the message hidden within. Your breath caught in your throat as he handed you the slip of paper, your eyes scanning the words in disbelief.
“Will you marry me?” you read aloud, your heart skipping a beat as you looked up to find Carlos on one knee before you, a small box cradled in his hand, the glint of a simple ring nestled within.
Time seemed to stand still as you gazed into his eyes, the warmth of his love enveloping you like a comforting embrace. In that moment, surrounded by the remnants of your Chinese takeout feast and the echoes of laughter that filled the air, you knew that this was the beginning of a new chapter—a story written in the stars and sealed with a fortune cookie.
With tears glistening in your eyes and a smile spreading across your face, you reached out to him, your heart overflowing with joy.
“Yes,” you whispered, your voice trembling with emotion as you accepted the ring and his outstretched hand, knowing that this moment would be etched in your memory forever—a testament to the unexpected magic of fortune and the unwavering love that had brought you together.

Healthy Human Foods Your Cat Can Enjoy! 🐾🍽️
Did you know there are some human foods that are actually good for your cat? Let’s take a look at a few treats that can be beneficial, but remember: always in moderation! 😸
1. Plain Yogurt 🥄
A spoonful of plain, unsweetened yogurt (no added sugars or flavors) can provide your kitty with calcium and protein to help strengthen their bones! 💪🐱 While cats are generally lactose intolerant, the lower lactose content in yogurt makes it a safe occasional treat. most cats can consume small amounts of plain yogurt due to the lower lactose content. Thus, plain yogurt can be an occasional treat, Just make sure it’s plain! 😉
2.Cooked Egg Yolk 🍳
Want to make your cat’s fur shine and reduce shedding? Try giving them a small amount of cooked egg yolk once a week! 🌟 But never give raw egg yolks—stick to cooked or sterile options for safety.
3.Steamed Pumpkin & Sweet Potato 🎃🍠
These are packed with fiber, which can aid in digestion and help keep your cat regular. If your fur baby has diabetes, though, it’s best to skip these treats.
4.Carrots & Broccoli 🥕🥦
Full of Vitamin A, these veggies can support your cat’s eye health and boost their immune system! 🥰 A little crunch now and then is a great addition to their diet. Durian 🍈
Believe it or not, some cats enjoy the taste of durian! This fruit contains both protein and fat, but since every cat is different, it might be a hit or miss with your feline friend. 🐱🍴 Always introduce new foods slowly and watch for any reactions! 🚨 If anything seems off, stop feeding them that food immediately.
Treat your kitty to some of these healthy goodies, but remember, moderation is key! 😻💖

Yeah, Tom likes to work out but he doesn't like to have to follow the strict regimen needed to be bulky. He also talked about during FFH press when he said his body looked better in HOCO even though he was bulkier in FFH because it's easier to look shredded when you are not bulky. I still remember some fans complaining that he didn't look shredded when he went to Hawaii in January 2019, saying that Tom needed to get back in the gym. Many young male actors develop body dysmorphia issues due to the need to look so muscular. Zac Efron has talked about this and how happy he was when he didn't have to eat just grilled skinless chicken breast and steamed broccoli and could eat a slice of pizza or a bowl of pasta

Yep, I remember Tom saying that! He didn't have time to shred his body for FFH, so he didn't feel like he looked his best in that film.
I personally thought his body looked fine?? But I guess we're all harder on ourselves.... 🤷🏾♀️

Yea, I HATE when fans do stuff like that, because it's so not helpful OR kind. 😔
I don't think fans realize just how much hard WORK and dedication it takes for these actors to totally transform their bodies to look a certain way for a particular role. And usually, they're not given that much time to do it either, so they're usually only given a few months to totally change their bodies, and that can be rough! I remember Taylor Lautner saying also that he ended up having some body image issues after he had played the role of Jacob in the "Twilight" series (who's all super buff and muscular) and then him not being able to maintain that insane type of body 24/7, and fans being really hard on him for it. 😔 He ended up going through a bit of depression.
FF to Min. 18:30..... Taylor starts talking about how men struggle with body image issues as well, and how being in the Twilight franchise led to him struggling with that and mental health issues...along with the insane expectations fans had of him and his body. 😔
youtube
I don't think fans realize how much what they say online can really hurt some actors feelings and make them feel insecure. 😭

Ways I get fruits n veggies in me:
- putting oranges and peppers on the counter where it’s easy to snack on while I make other food
- buying frozen strawberries for cheap to make smoothies which are cold on a hot day
- buying 100% fruit juices or 100% fruit popsicles so I have cold juice to drink on a hot day
Ways I do not get fruits n veggies in me:
- buying frozen veggies I don’t really want to eat because I think they’re healthy
- buying fruits I don’t really like because I think they’re healthy
- buying fruits or veggies which require prep time to eat in a way I like
- getting upset at myself for not eating enough fruits n veggies
Notice how the ways I eat the fruits and veggies have a built in incentive to eat them?
- peppers n oranges on the counter are easy to eat and require no prep time. If I want a meal, or I’m just I the kitchen, they’re easy to grab and munch on.
- I get bored and distracted when I cook. Having something to do with my hands, like peeling an orange, keeps me busy while keeping me in the kitchen near my food. And then I peeled the orange so I might as well eat it.
- smoothies and cold juice/popsicles work because the weather is hot and I already want to cool down. The incentive exists naturally because I like how they taste and I’m already looking for something cold.
- smoothies/juice/popsicles also have a consistent texture, which unprocessed fruit and veggies do not have. Texture is a big driver of what I eat or don’t, so having a pleasant/consistent texture makes me more likely to choose something.
If u prep ur own food and are worried ur not eating enough fruits n veggies, it might be time to go through how you usually choose what to eat and what’s blocking the fruit and veggie choices. Usually there is something that makes the alternate choice you make more appealing (including not eating anything, that is a choice that you make too).
Does having to cut/peel an orange take too long, so you pick the easily openable chips? That’s great! You have chips! But if you want fruit too, maybe get something you can just pick up and eat, like an apple or pear.
Does having fresh veggies sound great, but they’re not warm and you’re already freezing, so you pick the warm tater tots you can make in the oven? That’s great! You have tater tots! But if you want veggies too, maybe make some warm vegetable soup, or get a microwave pack of steamed green beans or broccoli.
Do you feel like you want to add more vitamins to your diet, but you don’t like the taste of vegetables or fruit, so you just stare in the cabinet and then don’t pick anything? Get something that has what you need that tastes different. Maybe that’s a supplement (talk to your doctor first, those still can interact with other meds or general health), maybe that’s a protein bar you like, maybe it’s chopping veggies up real tiny and putting them in your pasta sauce. It’s okay if it’s not the most “economical” or “healthy” solution; if it results in you actually eating more of what you’re trying to eat, it’s worth it.
This applies to other foods too; I need more protein in my diet, so I buy protein bars and oven-bakeable orange chicken, even if there are “healthier” more protein dense foods. I don’t like kale or beans, eggs and I are frenemies, and steak (my beloved) takes a lot of time and attention to cook properly. I need to drink more water, so I buy powdered lemonade and sparkling water. Maybe you hate chicken and protein bars and sparkling water and lemonade. You’re not me. What do you like? What do you need? What makes your needs more likeable? Go buy/make/do that.
#I just have strong feelings about this okay#my mom gets on me for not eating the entire rainbow or smth#and tbh#I am not. concerned. about that.#because even if I bought the rainbow I would not eat the rainbow#and then the rainbow would get very moldy or freezerburned#but I have noticed that I eat more fruits and veggies now because I buy stuff i like#and put them in places where I’m likely to eat them#it’s just that#my roommate bought peaches and they were too mushy to eat on their own so I cut em up and smoothied them#with my strawberries#surprise surprise suddenly I ate a ton of peaches#yes I eat like 4 meals ever but I also have 4 reliable fruit/veggie options#<- is autistic and struggles to eat a variety of foods#my doctor gets so worried alkdjfjsjdkfj he’s like ‘im worried you don’t have enough variety in your diet’ my brother in Christ you’re lucky#that it’s 4 meals and not 2#because when I went to the dining hall it was 2#chicken tenders or pizza#that’s it#so really now that I’m eating brats and grilled cheese and orange chicken and occasionally pasta#I’ve doubled my meal variety#the one sad thing is that the orange chicken is pricey#otherwise I would probably eat it every day

All I had for lunch was a potato and some steamed broccoli. I am not in fact going vegan. I am just broke and out of groceries. Which is super no fun. Because groceries could include tacos. And tacos are super fun.
Is there a name or word for the feeling of being simultaneously wanted and unwanted? I am getting that feeling from someone lately...Maybe even a couple someones. And it isn't a good feeling. It also reminds me of why I closed down so much in the past. Vulnerable and open. I am trying so very hard to be vulnerable and open. Which means saying I want love, but not in a "Woe is me, I am so forsaken" way. More like I want to share the real human being inside me and have him be cared about still. And I want to get to know people without going full steamroller with my narrative. I sometimes forget friendship and conversation and communication are about give and take. Not just a stream of my story, thoughts and ideas. Shit man, saying that, is vulnerable. I can be very socially greedy.
Being open means letting others into my world without control. Like this is why I love social media. I can give you what I want and at what rate and dosage I want. I can omit or embellish or I can beautify of distress the appearance. And it is a passive communication. You receive, and I don't need to take. Perhaps that is why so many people who struggle socially become much more comfortable online. It's safe (for the most part) from interruption or interjection.
I left anonymous on for my ask box this time around. It's a symbolic gesture. I am open. But I am also not above turning off anonymous if it scares me. So...not entirely open.
I went to a counselling session this week. I never mentioned it because I was processing what it means. And what I am looking for. The answer is "I don't know". Therapy and counselling for me has historically been nothing but using a trained person to be my emotional prostitute. I talk till I am done and then try to forget it by the next day. Not very productive or rewarding. But not necessarily bad. I was born mentally ill and have been struggling with my existence my whole life. I have been hospitalized for being crazier than a shithouse rat. And I have seemingly tried every pill, potion and combination thereof. I have been inpatient, outpatient, rehabbed and treated out the wazoo.
There is nothing a therapist can tell me I don't really know. I read all the books they have.
I was looking for a loophole.
But it would be nice to just have someone say "I hear you Jeff, I get you and you matter". That's all. I don't need to-do lists or guidance necessarily, just caring and accountability...I can be a non-committal lazy asshole if you let me. What...wait....This trailed off and became a rambling thesis on mental health. Sorry, man. Anyway, I quickly feel like I have fallen back into being able to type anything and no one reading it anyway. Watch. Yogi Bear's girlfriend was sexy, she had it all in the pic-a-nic basket. And now I can prove no one is reading. Because that statement is really weird and needing of comment. So I am broke and for supper I can have potatoes. With ramen. Or you could send tacos and Jarritos! I ain't above beggin'! Ramble on!

Happy Chinese New Year, dear Tumblr friends. May this year be auspicious for all!
The song you are hearing is about one person's search for the Buddha everywhere, only to find him in his heart. Ganda no?
So we spent New Year’s Eve in the Temple in Malate called "Mabuhay Temple" administered by the Fo Guang nuns, as my maternal grandmother and the rest of our family are practicing Buddhists.
Contrary to popular opinion that Tsinoys or FilChi’s would gather around the table and eat lots of tikoy, pancit and siomai and light fireworks at midnight, we instead first troop to the temple to reverence the Buddha and our departed ancestors. Hence, we bow three times and offer flowers, fruits, and incense. How about fortune telling? No, our branch of Buddhism does not read fortune nor do the monks do that (Taoists do, since they have geomancers)
After the ritual of lighting the "first incense" there was a short program by the Guan Ming scholars who serenaded the community with songs and dances. Afterwards, a second service was conducted and they sent us off with loot bags containing sweet treats, mostly vegetarian candies but sorry, no tikoy lol.
After the first temple, we went to Seng Guan which is another temple so dear to my amah (grandmother) which is located in Narra Street which is proximate the Divisoria Malls. If Catholics in Manila has the lovely Manila Cathedral, Buddhists in Binondo offer Seng Guan. It is a three-story building that houses the shrines of different deities like the first level is dedicated to the Kuan Yin Ma or the Goddess of Mercy while the second and third are for the Buddha and the Buddha of Medicine or Good Health where the majority of the services are conducted.
medyo na surprise lang ako kasi yung monk naka iphone. akala ko naman na napaka austere nila kasi they live a life of simplicity being vegetarian and all lol.
and there is also my "wealthiest" cousin (kasi lagi nya pinamumukha sa akin na ako ay mahirap lol) trying to strike a convo with this temple cat. as usual, the cat knows what an asshole my cousin is so she ignores him lol.
going back, and please forgive me for saying this, again and again, tsinoys barely eat tikoy. we are so done eating it - sawang sawa. what is usually served after the service is a bowl of misua without meat and that's it. the only time we have a spread is during lunch, the first day of the new year, and there is no siomai, no hakaw but you get served with steamed fish, suaje (shrimp) cooked in Chinese wine, oyster cake, then there is beef and broccoli, soup with abalone, and yes, lots of fruits. ang pao's are also handed after the meals.
so that is how i spent my New Year. I hope yours was fun as well.

7 Vegetables That Support Healthy Blood Sugar
Managing blood sugar can feel like a never-ending battle. But what if I told you that something as simple as veggies could help? Eating the right vegetables not only adds nutrients to your diet but can also play a role in controlling your blood sugar levels. Let’s dig into seven fantastic vegetables that can support your health in this area.
1. Spinach: The Leafy Powerhouse
Spinach is a true superstar among vegetables. Packed with vitamins and minerals, this leafy green is low in calories and carbs. With its high fiber content, spinach helps slow down glucose absorption. Toss some fresh spinach into your salad or blend it into a smoothie for an easy boost to your meals.
2. Broccoli: The Blood Sugar Fighter
Broccoli is more than just a side dish; it's a warrior when it comes to blood sugar control. It's rich in fiber and contains compounds that may reduce insulin resistance. Eating steamed or roasted broccoli brings out its flavor without losing its benefits. Plus, it’s an easy veggie to sneak into casseroles or pasta dishes.
3. Carrots: Naturally Sweet and Savory
Carrots bring a natural sweetness to the table. They have a low glycemic index, meaning they won't spike your blood sugar levels. Snacking on raw carrots makes a healthy choice, or you can add them to soups and stews for a hearty flavor. Who doesn’t love that crunch?
4. Bell Peppers: Colorful and Crunchy
Bell peppers aren’t just pretty to look at; they’re also incredibly healthy. They’re loaded with vitamins A and C, and their high water content helps keep you hydrated. Their fiber helps manage blood sugar, making them perfect for salads or stir-fries. Grab a variety of colors to enjoy different flavors and nutrients.
5. Kale: The Nutrient-Dense Green
Kale is another leafy green that deserves a spot on your plate. It’s packed with antioxidants and is low in carbohydrates. Adding kale to your meals can help regulate blood sugar levels and keep you feeling full longer. Try kale chips for a tasty snack or mix it into your favorite smoothie for a nutritious punch.
6. Sweet Potatoes: A Healthier Starch Option
Unlike white potatoes, sweet potatoes are higher in fiber and have a lower glycemic index. This makes them a better choice for those looking to keep blood sugar steady. Bake or mash them for a delicious side dish, or even make sweet potato fries for a fun twist on a classic.
7. Zucchini: The Versatile Veggie
Zucchini is more than just a low-calorie vegetable; it's loaded with vitamins and minerals. With plenty of fiber, zucchini helps keep your blood sugar levels stable. Use it in stir-fries, bake it, or spiralize it for a healthy pasta alternative. It adapts well to any dish, making it a kitchen favorite.
Conclusion: Adding Veggies to Your Plate
Incorporating these seven vegetables into your diet can support healthy blood sugar levels while offering a variety of flavors and nutrients. Whether you enjoy them raw, steamed, or roasted, these veggies can become your allies in managing your health. So, next time you’re planning a meal, think about how you can add a splash of color and nutrition to your plate!

Hi B! 18 & 20 for the end of the year asks please 💜
Dalawa how dare you give me a food ask, you know those always end up in an existential crisis 😂
18. A memorable meal this year?
alright, I don't know how @heartstringsduet managed to break it down to one but I sure as shit can't and just plain refuse to xD
We're doing this in two categories, eating out and self cooked!
Eating out
The vegan food in Lisbon was INSANE!!!!!! 1000000/10 would recommend!!! Does it take research? Yes! Is it time consuming? A little. Is it worth it?! 💯
Tried myself through a lot of vegan Döner in Cologne and this one is the winner so far (and the peacock green deli no longer exists, so my fav before that is gone too 😢) 🤤
Cooked
I didn't actually try out that many recipe this year between shitty mental health and physical incapability but here are a few of my highlights from this year.
This is just so fucking good!
I have never actually made the entire recipe but I use the sauce for everything from marinating tofu, to using it in stir fry or as salad dressing.
I play around with the filling but I use this recipe as the base for all my quiches.
Yummy spring deliciousness!
THE SHIT!!!!
These two are also insanely good but the first recipe only exists in German I think and the second one doesn’t have one because I just did whatever and forgot to write it down as always 🫠 it’s a one pot taco pasta though
20. answered here :)
End of the year Asks

How much weight loss abc diet?
The effectiveness and results of any diet, including the ABC Diet, can vary greatly among individuals due to differences in metabolism, starting weight, adherence to the diet, and other lifestyle factors. The ABC Diet (Ana Boot Camp Diet) is known for its extreme calorie restriction and alternating calorie intake over a period of 50 days, which can lead to rapid weight loss. However, it's important to note the following:
Potential Weight Loss
Initial Weight Loss: Rapid weight loss in the first few days is common due to water loss.
Caloric Deficit: The ABC Diet creates a severe caloric deficit, which can result in losing 1-2 kg per week initially.
Total Weight Loss: Over the 50-day period, some individuals might lose up to 10-15 kg or more, depending on their starting weight and adherence to the diet.
Risks and Considerations
Nutrient Deficiency: Severe calorie restriction can lead to deficiencies in essential nutrients, affecting overall health.
Muscle Loss: Along with fat, muscle mass may be lost due to insufficient protein intake.
Metabolic Slowdown: Extreme dieting can slow down metabolism, making it harder to maintain weight loss.
Health Risks: Risks include dizziness, fatigue, weakened immune system, and potential eating disorders.
Sustainability: Such extreme diets are not sustainable long-term and often lead to weight regain once normal eating patterns are resumed.
Healthier Alternatives
For sustainable and healthier weight loss, consider balanced diet plans that provide adequate nutrition while creating a moderate calorie deficit. Some popular and effective diets include:
Mediterranean Diet: Emphasizes whole grains, healthy fats, lean proteins, and plenty of fruits and vegetables.
DASH Diet: Focuses on reducing sodium intake and includes a variety of nutrient-rich foods.
Low-Carb Diets: Such as the ketogenic diet or Atkins diet, which reduce carbohydrate intake and increase protein and fat consumption.
Sample Balanced Diet Plan (1,500 Calories/Day)
Breakfast (300 calories)
Greek yogurt with honey and mixed berries
A handful of almonds
Mid-Morning Snack (100 calories)
Apple slices with peanut butter
Lunch (400 calories)
Grilled chicken salad with mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, and vinaigrette
Whole grain roll
Afternoon Snack (100 calories)
Hummus with celery and bell pepper sticks
Dinner (600 calories)

Exercise Plan
Cardio: Aim for 150 minutes of moderate-intensity or 75 minutes of high-intensity cardio per week.
Strength Training: Include strength training exercises 2-3 times per week.
Flexibility: Incorporate yoga or stretching exercises.
Tips for Success
Hydration: Drink plenty of water.

Certainly! Adopting appropriate dietary habits during the monsoon season can help maintain good health and prevent common seasonal illnesses. Here’s an explanation of the top 10 food habits to consider:
1.nclude Seasonal Fruits:
Seasonal fruits such as apples, pears, pomegranates, and cherries are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. These nutrients help enhance immunity and protect against infections commonly prevalent during the monsoon season.
2.Consume More Vegetables:
Incorporate a variety of vegetables into your diet, including leafy greens like spinach and fenugreek, as well as vegetables like bitter gourd, broccoli, and cauliflower. These vegetables provide essential vitamins and minerals that support overall health and immunity.
3. Stay Hydrated:
Adequate hydration is crucial during the monsoon season. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to flush out toxins and maintain optimal bodily functions. Herbal teas and soups are also beneficial for staying hydrated and warming the body during rainy days.
4.Avoid Street Food:
Minimize the consumption of street food during the monsoon season to reduce the risk of foodborne illnesses. Street food may not always be prepared under hygienic conditions, increasing the likelihood of infections.
5.Cook Thoroughly:
Ensure that all foods, especially meats and seafood, are cooked thoroughly before consumption. Proper cooking kills harmful bacteria and reduces the risk of food poisoning.
6. Include Probiotics:
Probiotic foods such as yogurt, buttermilk, and fermented foods (e.g., idli, dosa) help maintain a healthy gut microbiota. A balanced gut flora supports digestion, nutrient absorption, and strengthens the immune system.
7.Use Fresh Ingredients: Prefer fresh ingredients over preserved or leftover foods. Freshly prepared meals are less likely to harbor harmful bacteria that thrive in humid conditions typical of the monsoon season.
Drink herbal teas like ginger tea, tulsi tea (holy basil), or cinnamon tea. These teas have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help boost immunity and provide relief from seasonal ailments.
9.Avoid Raw Salads:
Minimize the consumption of raw salads during the monsoon season. Opt for lightly cooked or steamed vegetables instead. Raw vegetables may carry contaminants that are more prevalent during the rainy season.
10.Boost Vitamin C Intake:
Foods rich in Vitamin C, such as citrus fruits (e.g., oranges, lemons), bell peppers, and gooseberries (amla), help strengthen the immune system. Vitamin C is essential for fighting infections and maintaining overall health.
By adopting these food habits, you can enhance your immunity, maintain digestive health, and reduce the risk of illnesses commonly associated with the monsoon season. Prioritizing fresh, nutritious foods and maintaining hygiene in food preparation are key to staying healthy during this time of year.

🥦 + 🍹for them three boys? ♡ I'm feeding them steamed broccoli and pina coladas
Thank you 🖤🤗
[ OC Questions ]
🥦 - Does your OC eat healthily or live off junk food?
Judah: His diet is very healthy and nutritious. Not exactly strict, he does indulge in sweets and not so healthy goods every now and then. But he has the money, so he very much prefers foods that are better for him. However, he is a stress eater and that's when the greasy junk food comes in. Sometimes he can be seen going to town on a burger or having a pizza delivered directly to his boardroom by his frantic assistant because his cravings are at an all time high.
Salem: Salem is in the middle. It's not so much that the foods he eats are unhealthy, he just skips meals or makes the quickest thing possible without even trying to make it a meal--especially during his self-destructive days. He'll dump a can of cold tomato sauce in a pot of pasta, give it a quick stir and voila, bone atrophy. Though, now that he's in a better place with his health, he tries to eat a bit more frequently and he's a bit more considerate with what exactly he eats.
Embry: Embry grew up with hearty, delicious foods though not exactly the most nutritious or healthy (that delicious Southern food 🤤). Though after he self-exiled himself, all that stopped. Similar to Salem, Embry's eating habits weren’t that great. Sometimes junk food was all he had to eat--though he'd try really hard to stock up on things that had a bit more nutrition in them. However, now in the present? Back to eating a bit more healthy--especially since he now lives with a roommate that can not only cook, but knows how to make a healthy meal.
🍹 - Does your OC drink? If so, what’s their drink of choice?
(Bear with me, I don't drink so I don't really know my drinks all that well dfdfkjghlsdj)
Judah: Surprisingly, Judah isn't much of a drinker. He'll social drink though, but never to get drunk or to let loose. I see him as a wine guy. But I can also see him drinking some whiskey or cognac too. If one pays closer attention, they'll notice he never really has more than one glass.
Salem: He does drink, though it's not as heavy as it was before. Similar to Judah, he'll mostly social drink now a days but can be convinced to have a bit more and get shit-faced with someone. I can see him being a vodka guy. Maybe rum.
Embry: My sweet boy sticks with the classics. Can't go wrong with a good beer. That's mostly what he sticks with--because I don't think he can handle hard liquor very well. Not that he can't drink--this boy can drink. He's just not the most pleasant drunk when he's drunk off liquor. So beer is his go-to--especially if he wants to keep things chill.
(All three would go nuts on some pina coladas though 🤭)
