Absolutely NOBODY asked for this but Papaya trio sketches because for some reason out of ALL the characters in Ninjago my brain could’ve picked to latch on to, it chose the three who have never canonically met

(re-ish)watching ncis in 2023 is like came for the murder and crime solving, stayed for the absolutely unhinged tiva plotline

#zanna talks #ncis you beautiful mess of a show #like yeah it's blatantly nationalistic and Very post9/11 and us military propaganda #it likes to be misogynistic and xenophobic and try to play it as a joke #sometimes gibbs will do things that make me feel ill #and also it looooves praising cops and idolizing the maverick mentality and villifying defense lawyers #um point being it's got a lot of flaws and if i hadn't associated it with childhood nostalgia i'm not sure i could have made it far enough #in my rewatch to hit the point where it actually feels worth it past being a good distraction when i feel bad #like the point where you watch tony really start to grow and the plotlines get better and the relationships deepen etc #but man when it hits it hits #wild to watch it as an adult and realize actually the tiva stuff was there all along with effort put in and it wasnt just me making it up #75% of the time theyre just sniping at each other and being annoying coworkers but sometimes they give u a glimpse #not just of how good thye are as a dynamic but just the mcrt in general?#tony burning the letter from jeanne and trying to let go after realizing his team is like his family??#them being the ones to get ziva out of somalia and not her shitty bio dad and sticking up for her when she wants out???#them always believing in each other when they get framed ?? thanksgiving together??#coworkers as family is highly unrealistic in this day and age and maybe just in general but im willing to allow it bc man. they care.#sorry this got. away from me. what was i even talking about #ncis

listen i know its been 10 years and the show itself really wasnt that good but nothing has hurt me like the how i met your mother finale

#me and my sister were rewatching some eps bc nostalgia and i ended up rewatching the whole thing over a few days #well kinda background noise while i played stardew but #what a bizarre show. compels me though...#it rlly jumps the shark and starts getting repetitive and like is drawn out too long and develops the characters too far for the original #intended ending to make any sense. but i kinda love when sitcoms just get weird and dark and bizarre at the end #like roseann ending with it all being in her head or theu were dead the whole time or whatever

Been rewatching Doctor Who, been nostalgic since Tennant came back. Was about to pop the old Tennant collection into the PS5 and my brain just screamed at me, "WTF are you doing? You're skipping nine? You DON'T SKIP NINE!" - like the fangirl I was 15 years ago was gonna pop into my living room and THROTTLE me.

So, first ep - "Damn, this is grainy and campy and has really too many shitty-supposed-to-be-amazing special effects, how the hell did I get so hooked on this?" Second ep, "Ok, starting to see it, and HEY the Jukebox! I forgot about that!" By the end of the third ep, yup, totally hooked again. Got up to the preview for "Father's Day," three in the morning, and was like, "Oh no, not tonight, Satan." Slept, woke up, turned it on again. Let me tell you, over a decade later, and still. STILL. Cried my eyes out. Fast forward and I just finished "The Doctor Dances" and I gotta go to work. But man, let me tell you, it's very much reminded me how much I loved my first Doctor. And Rose. And it's been so much fun smirking at the Face of Boe and playing "find the Bad Wolf" on the walls. 1000% would recommend. Fantastic.

I watched the live action adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho on Netflix.

The fight choreography was awesome! Everything I could hope for in a live action YYH. And I liked the special effects (for the most part - I’m assuming they didn’t have a massive budget). The character designs…. I liked some better than others.

In terms of story, they did some clever things in the way they adapted and compressed the story of the anime, but five episodes was just not enough. The first three were strong, and then the last two were a rushed mess. They should have either given it more episodes, or saved some story for a second season. It’s a shame, because there was a lot of potential to make something fantastic.

Despite the flaws I would still say I enjoyed it, and will probably rewatch.

Game rec; SPLATOON!! any of the games. I have a soft spot for splat 2, seeing as it wad the first one *i* got, but splat 1 and splat 3 are also good!!

I LOVE SPLATOON

I never played any because i don't have the consoles they're in but i remember being obsessed with this game when the second one came out and i briefly went back to that when the third one released, i just like the characters a lot and the weird ass little world they live in

#i remember when splatoon 3 came out i rewatched the reveal trailer for the splatoon 2 idols and started crying #because i hadn't watched that trailer ever since the early days of Splatoon 2 and was hit with an insane wave of nostalgia #Splatoon #hyena ramblings
