*Holds you*
I'm sorry for not talking to you in a while bestie 😭
hey bestie!!! honestly i should be the one apologizing. i havent been putting in a reasonable amount of effort for any of my friendships lately, even with my companion. thanks to my current physical health i usually dont have the energy to respond to anyone. if its not school or someone physically bringing me somewhere i cant socialize as much as i want to.
we’re making progress on my mystery symptoms tho!! ive got a few tests that im waiting to get results for and some more scheduled soon. hopefully once i get this figured out ill be able to start conversations on my own again. i love yall so so much!! one of the things im most looking forward to for when i get better is being able to talk to my friends more. :)
its genuinely really unfair for anyone ive befriended during this time. especially you, H!!! i tried to befriend you knowing full well i didnt have the ability to keep it up consistently. i sincerely apologize for that. youve been putting in a lot of effort that i havent been returning and ive given very little explanation for it. at the very least, i hope this update/apology brings some clarity for everyone ive been more or less ghosting for the last year. honestly ive got some irl friends like @snakeofcookie that have gotten a really shitty deal from this too.
once i get better, ill be a better friend. to you H and to everyone whos been hurt by me. i promise. to my friends, thank you for all the patience ive been given. ill do my very best to repay it. 💛

So I was listening to Startalk Radio, the episode uploaded on July 25, 2023, and they talked briefly about places where the sun don't shine on the moon, cold traps.
The moon doesn't have an atmosphere, so some shadows are completely black. If there are areas that NEVER see light, IF water is there, it'll never evaporate.
If water is in a crevices or crater which never touches light, then it'll freeze and stay there, undisturbed, forever!
So, what is the likelihood that chandrayann3 can find a creator on the south pole of the moon that has never seen sunlight? If there is water, what can we learn from it? I imagine it'll be a HUGE SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERY.
I'm trying not to get hyped about it until they tell the public that they've found frozen water.

Benefits of Online Study with Digital Tools
Hey there, fellow learners! Are you ready to take your education game to the next level? Today, we're diving headfirst into the world of technology and learning styles. Strap in, because we're about to embark on an exciting journey to discover how digital tools can supercharge your learning experience, no matter what your style is!
Embracing the Digital Revolution
Let's face it: technology is everywhere. From smartphones to smartwatches, laptops to tablets, we're surrounded by gadgets that have the power to revolutionize the way we learn. But how exactly can we leverage these digital tools to our advantage?
Understanding Your Learning Style
Before we dive into the tech stuff, let's take a quick detour to explore learning styles. Are you a visual learner who thrives on colorful diagrams and charts? Maybe you're an auditory learner who absorbs information like a sponge through podcasts and audiobooks. Or perhaps you're a kinesthetic learner who learns best by getting hands-on with interactive activities. Whatever your style, there's a digital tool out there waiting to complement it.
Tech for Visual Learners
Hey, visual learners! Are you tired of drowning in a sea of textbooks and lecture notes? Fear not, because digital tools are here to save the day. Dive into the world of mind mapping apps like MindMeister or draw.io, where you can create colorful, interconnected diagrams to visualize complex concepts. Or why not try out online flashcard platforms like Quizlet to spice up your study sessions with interactive quizzes and games?
Tech for Auditory Learners
Calling all auditory learners! If you're someone who learns best by listening, then you're in luck. Say hello to the wonderful world of podcasts, where you can find a treasure trove of educational content on just about any topic under the sun. Whether you're brushing up on history with Dan Carlin's Hardcore History or delving into the mysteries of the universe with Neil deGrasse Tyson's StarTalk Radio, there's something out there to tickle your auditory fancy.
Tech for Kinesthetic Learners
Hey, kinesthetic learners! Are you itching to get your hands dirty and dive into some hands-on learning? Look no further than the wide world of interactive simulations and virtual labs. From exploring the human body with apps like Complete Anatomy to conducting virtual chemistry experiments with platforms like ChemCollective, the possibilities are endless. So roll up your sleeves and get ready to dive into some digital dirt!
Mixing It Up: Blended Learning Approaches
But wait, what if you're someone who doesn't neatly fit into one learning style box? Fear not, because there's a solution for you too. Welcome to the world of blended learning, where traditional teaching methods are combined with digital tools to create a dynamic, personalized learning experience. Whether it's flipping the classroom with online lectures or incorporating gamified learning platforms into your curriculum, the sky's the limit when it comes to blending digital and traditional learning approaches.
Conclusion: Tech Up Your Learning Game
And there you have it, folks! We've barely scratched the surface of the vast world of technology and learning styles, but hopefully, you're feeling inspired to take your education into your own hands and embrace the digital revolution. So go forth, explore, and don't be afraid to experiment with new tools and techniques. After all, the future of learning is in your hands – quite literally!
Your Turn: Share Your Tech Tips!
Have you discovered any awesome digital tools that have revolutionized your learning experience? Whether you're a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner (or a delightful mix of all three!), we want to hear from you! Drop your favorite tech tips in the comments below and let's keep the conversation going. Until next time, happy learning!

iHeartPodcast Award Nominees Announced: Indie Podcasts Mostly Ignored
Tumblr media
iHeartMedia has announced the nominees for the 2024 iHeartPodcast Awards presented by The Hartford live at SXSW. The awards, which claim to honor the very best in podcasting from 2023 and celebrate the most innovative talent and content creators in the industry, will feature 29 categories spanning podcast genres.
Independent podcasters -- the backbone of podcasting -- are again underrepresented in the award process. Most of the nominees are TV personalities.
In the United Kingdom on October 31, 2023, the first-ever Independent Podcast Award ceremony was held in London.
The Independent Podcast Awards were set up by whynow Media and the Verbal Diorama podcast team to help uncover the talent that they have in the UK, but that doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves.
The awards, which were also sponsored by companies including Captivate, Adelicious and Pirate, were launched last year to celebrate the independent podcasting sector.
Perhaps, a similar event will take shape in the U.S.
This year, iHeartMedia teamed up with South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festivals to host the live and in-person ceremony in Austin, Texas at the Fairmont Hotel on Monday, March 11 at 8 p.m. CT.
“As the podcast industry continues to rapidly grow, this past year has clearly proven that podcasters are always innovating in the audio space and finding new ways to reach and engage new audiences,” said Conal Byrne, CEO of iHeartMedia’s Digital Audio Group. “The nominees for the 2024 iHeartPodcast Awards reflect the results of honing that creativity, and we’re thrilled to celebrate and once again empower these creators and elevate the podcast industry together live in person at SXSW.”
No word from Mr. Byrne about independent podcasters.
Each year, podcast fans help decide the winner of the Podcast of the Year by voting online at iHeartPodcastAwards.com from February 5 through February 18.
Last year, the virtual 2023 iHeartPodcast Awards were hosted by actor and comedian Brian Baumgartner, and featured a variety of appearances by celebrities who mostly found fame and success on TV.
Maybe this year, the award ceremony will include people who are born and bred in podcasting.
The full 2024 category nominees are:

Best International:CTV Question Period with Vassy Kapelos (Canada) Dichosa Sexualidad (Mexico) The Fold (New Zealand) The Imperfects (Australia) Rocio Cordova (Mexico)
I think it's sad that iHeart has not carved out award categories for independent podcasters like The Life Shift, Multispective, The Nightingale Of Iran, Murder Sheet, Double Take, Infernal Communication, EarBuds Podcast Collective, and many other deserving indie podcasts and podcasters.
For more information about the 2024 iHeartPodcast Awards, click HERE. If you do click, ask iHeart why indie podcasts do not have a more prominent role in these awards. After all, iHeart didn't invent podcasting or participate in its growth in the early, formative years. Independent podcasters did that.

Ectober Day 6 - Witching Hour
Or: A Treatise on the Perception of Time
Characters: Danny Fenton Word Count: 640 No warnings apply
Even before he’d met Clockwork, Danny had known a thing or two about time, and the perception thereof.
First, there was the purely practical matter of knowing when sunset was – and importantly, that ‘sunset’ did not mark the beginning of night; you had to pass through civil twilight, nautical twilight, and astronomical twilight before you reached true night.
From there came the understanding of just how local time was, that the timing of sunset, and what stars would be visible in your view of the sky, depended precisely on your geographic location. So Danny knew that clocks – both analog and digital – were just ways of keeping track of the agreed-upon ‘time’ for a given time zone, and did not reveal some underlying, fundamental truth (and don’t get him started on Daylight Savings Time; he had Opinions).
Like, the history of astronomy was basically the history of timekeeping. Watching heavenly bodies and creating calendars based on their movements was a very human thing to do. In that sense, time was a human invention; if Earth was alone in making its way around the sun, there would never have evolved a concept of months or even years. There would just be cycles of repeating seasons, indefinitely.
To say nothing of space-time! One of these days he’d have to ask Clockwork about faster-than-light travel, because if anyone could comprehend time on a backwards axis it would be him. All Danny knew was that the math worked out; he’d never studied it. The science of it was beyond him. He just thought it was interesting how clocks on the International Space Station fell behind those left on Earth, because time dilation, special relativity, yada yada.
All this was to say that Danny knew that clocks were artificial. They didn’t actually measure time, they measured themselves. Atomic clocks measured the decay of cesium atoms, which humans use as a proxy for measuring femtoseconds directly. Time wasn’t a tangible thing that could be measured directly.
Or maybe it was? He’d thought he understood time well enough. Not as well as someone who’d made a career of studying it, but more than his classmates, and he’d been proud of that knowledge the way he was proud of the number of constellations he could name. It felt good to know those things, and then his whole world got upended when he met the literal Master of Time.
Danny was a lot less certain about what time even was, now.
But he was still confident that he knew what it wasn’t.
The alarm clock on his nightstand measured a social construct, not a fundamental law of the universe. So why, why did he always wake up at 3 AM? Even after moving clocks forward for Daylight Savings time, even when he changed time zones. It made no difference. 3 o’clock in the middle of the night would roll around, and his core would start buzzing and he’d feel so full of energy. He’d be unable to fall back asleep until he’d burned off some of that energy flying laps around the city, under the stars.
As a kid, he’d heard his parents theorize that ghosts were most active during the Witching Hour. They invariably would wind up in a debate about which hour, exactly, was the Witching Hour. They’d invented several different instruments to try to determine if it was midnight, or 1 AM, or so forth. That was back before they’d built the Portal, and to his knowledge all the tests had been inconclusive.
He knew it couldn’t be the Witching Hour waking him up, though, because 3 AM wasn’t real. Folklore about and belief in the Witching Hour predated time zones by several centuries.
So why was he awake?
Something else to ask Clockwork, next time he saw him.

The Mission
Tumblr media
Seek a new place of being
Home no longer a home to sustain life
Dead and dying world now and forever
Look to the stars to find another
A world not totally alike yet it's close
Red is the clay soil that has been observed by many eyes
Clear the way through the red haze
We are come new home we are on our way
The mission will be long, dangerous to those talking first steps
We will remember them well in hearts and mind
Plant the seeds under the dome of the red sun
We are coming new home, we are on our way...
