no... the new leader of riverclan is icewing meaning she'll be named icestar... which is the same name as my beloved deuteragonist of starclan's saviours who is driven half-mad with grief after her healer (mate) and leader (close kin) die only moons apart and uses her newfound authority to plunge the forest into a brief period of war... noooo...

leaders, deputies and healers (redraw)
huge, and I mean MASSIVE infodump under the cut, watch out!!
LEADERS
Palestar (she/her), Leader of Stormclan - Palestar’s backstory is one shrouded in mystery. All that is known about her ascent to leadership is that she killed the previous Stormclan leader - Creekstar - who was known as a callous tyrant. Rumours ooze around the festering wound that Creekstar left in her clan, and whilst her fellow leaders are viciously curious about the events that lead to her annointment as leader, Palestar is thoroughly tight-lipped about it all.
Ouzelstar (he/him), Leader of Snowclan - A traditionalist and a shithead. Ouzelstar was a virulent warrior, intent on keeping his clan free from anything he believed would threaten the tradition that Snowclan had supposedly stood on for so many years. As leader, his cutthroat attitude has calmed a bit, mostly due to his fears over dividing his clan any further - though he is not above putting down cats he deems ‘lesser’, such as his deputy, Kestrel, whom he named Half-face.
Dapplestar, (he/him) Leader of Gladeclan - The oldest of the leaders and a gentle soul. Dapplestar has had the fortune of leading Gladeclan through many of its most comfortable seasons, and as such has adopted a very mellow outlook on life. His indecisive attitude has troubled them, however, when choosing deputies. After struggling for many moons with cats who wanted to abuse power and ignore duties (or those who were very obviously just waiting for him to keel over), he sought guidance from his ancestors. Lionsong was appointed deputy after Starclan named him as the future saviour of the clan. Knowing that a prophecy has named Lionsong as his successor, and confident in his abilities to lead, Dapplestar is ready to retire and live out the last of his days in the warmth of his clan.
Sandstar (they/them), Leader of Meadowclan - It is difficult to describe Sandstar without using the word ‘bitchy’. Taking their assessment at an exceptionally young age and then going on to become deputy and leader, Sandstar has earned the confidence and precedence they carry themselves with - not that it doesn’t annoy their fellow leaders somewhat. Despite all their pride and gumption, they regularly find themselves bored by the toils of leadership and often delegate their duties to their worrywart deputy, Ravenshine. They have two mates, Mothswoop and Appledawn.
DEPUTIES
Bluehaven (he/him), Stormclan’s Deputy - In the aftermath of Creekstar’s rule and Palestar’s rise to power, Stormclan was weakened and divided. In-fighting began to stir between those who supported and those who opposed Palestar’s leadership, and to quell this discord Palestar appointed Bluehaven, one of her most outspoken opposers, as deputy. Despite his objections to her leadership, Bluehaven was shaken by Palestar’s decision, initially believing it to be a trick, and later, a test of his loyalty. He warmed up to his new role after Palestar made further efforts to rebuild her clan, including pardoning exiled cats and banning the murder of rogues (an action that Creekstar had permitted). Nowadays his relationship with Palestar is tense but professional - though there are rumours she only made him deputy because she knows he won’t usurp her like she had to Creekstar.
Kestrel (he/him), Snowclan’s Deputy - Kestrel was born in Stormclan to Pineshadow and an unknown father. Not long before his apprentice ceremony, his mother fled their home, taking him to Snowclan. There, Ouzelstar took him in, whilst his mother was turned away into the frozen wilds. From a young age Kestrel demonstrated an intuition and selflessness beyond his age - he was left significantly scarred after defending his clanmate from a badger. Though most of his clanmates afforded him sympathy and admiration for this action, there were others who were angered by it - namely Ouzelstar, who would give Kestrel the warrior name ‘Half-face’. Kestrel went on to become deputy after Thawflank stepped down to care for his son and grieve his mate, and remained in the role long after this once Ouzelstar realised his competency far exceeded Thawflank’s (and he didn’t argue with him like Thawflank did). As deputy, he puts his duties above all else, especially any personal grudges he might harbour.
Lionsong (he/him), Gladeclan’s Deputy - Lionsong suffered a rough childhood, one that he still occasionally blames himself for. Having lost both his parents at a young age, in different ways, Lionsong grew up under the guidance of his mentor, Brightnettle. As an adult, Lionsong has committed himself to serving his clan to the best of his ability, and is known by his clanmates to be resolute but compassionate - making him a perfect candidate for deputy. Having been named by Starclan as the ‘saviour of his clan’, Lionsong wonders what lies in his future, and whether his future role as leader could clash with the actions required of a hero. He has a mate named Ashfall.
Ravenshine (she/her), Meadowclan’s Deputy - Born a kittypet and abandoned by her owners, Ravenshine struggled to adapt to a life of scavenging on the streets of her twoleg-place. She found Meadowclan after trying her luck hunting in the fringes of the town and stumbling across a border patrol. Desperate and hungry, she was prepared to fight these new, strange cats for her dinner, but was surprised when they invited her to their clan. She found the warrior life suited her well (though she is prone to sunburn more than the average Meadowclan cat, due to her lack of fur) and quickly earned the trust of Sandstar. She enjoys organisation and strategising, both of which make her suited to her role as deputy - though she does have a bad habit of over-worrying, something that isn’t helped by her leader’s lackadaisical antics. She has a crush on her clanmate, Flaxeneye.
HEALERS
Lichenfrost (she/her), Stormclan’s Healer - Lichenfrost is unusually friendly for a Stormclan cat. She was apprenticed to Frostwhisker, a key figure in the turmoil Stormclan experienced under Creekstar’s leadership, until his brutal death at the claws of a clanmate. Lichenfrost was understandably devastated, having witnessed it with her own eyes, and struggled for many moons as her clan’s sole healer. Whilst the bright sting of shock has long since left, she still finds herself struggling under the weight of her grief from time to time, a feeling she mostly tries to battle with a warm smile and a good talk, and maybe only occasionally some poppyseed.
Berrystem (she/her), Snowclan’s Healer - Berrystem apprenticed under Cedarsmoke, a quiet and often unsettling cat. Almost as soon as she had earned her name, he left the clan, saying goodbye only to her. As an apprentice, Berrystem was fiercely passionate about her duties, finding solace in healing clanmates and peace in having time to herself - not to mention, a small part of her was both humbled and thrilled by the importance of her role. As she got older, however, her devotion began to waver - and almost faltered completely when the Blight hit her clan. After the death of both her apprentice, Mumblepaw, and her brother’s mate, Tumblestone, Berrystem travelled to the Peak and begged her ancestors for something, anything she could do to save her clanmates. She was met with silence. Distraught and hopeless, Berrystem started avoiding her clanmates out of guilt, spending all her time in her den tending to the dying. When the Blight finally began to clear in the warmer months, the damage was done; their small clan was smaller and Berrystem believed it was all due to her. Losing her brother to his grief and her friends to their duties, Berrystem found an unlikely bond with the only other cat who felt ostracised from the clan; Martenfur. The two would soon form a warm friendship, with Martenfur often helping Berrystem fetch those herbs that were just a little too tall for her to reach.
Littleshadow (she/her), Gladeclan’s Healer - Littleshadow became a healer far later in her life than most cats. She was 40 moons when the clan’s current healer, Duskfoot, died suddenly in a dog attack. Having been the only cat with a higher-than-average knowledge of herbs and remedies, Littleshadow stepped in to help her clan. Trained mostly by Beechbark, Littleshadow quickly learnt the ways of a healer and took up the role full-time - leaving her mate, Cindertail, behind.
Beechbark (he/him), Meadowclan’s Healer - Beechbark is the oldest of the current healers, having outlived not only his mentor but the clan’s previous leader. Despite this, he refuses to pick an apprentice on the principle that none of his clan’s current young ‘uns show enough respect and diligence for his liking. His clanmates fear that he’ll die before taking an apprentice, and his clan will be left healer-less like Gladeclan had been. Little do they know, Beechbark fears that if his clan has a newer, younger healer then they’ll see no use for him, and usher him off to the elder’s den. He’s not ready to give up his role just yet.

the fact leafpool had to have a trial to get into starclan despite A.) birthing the literal saviours of the clans, B.) being constantly punished for literally following her heart because SPOTTEDLEAF TOLD HER TO, and C.) spending a lot of her life ripped away from the role she so adored yet OAKSTAR, who got THREE INNOCENT KITS KILLED for the crimes of their parents, which caused one of the worst villians the clans saw, who tortured innocent kittypets, got in without a trial (presumably) is fucking insane to me 💀

DOVEWING & IVYPOOL
Immediate differences to canon:
Daughters of Cloudtail and Brightheart (Birchfall and Whitewing cut to simplify family tree) and to better fit 'Kin of your kin'
Hereditary Name meanings
Dove - Brightheart's feeling of peace being able to start a family with Cloudtail. Also in hope that her kits would not suffer during turbulent times in ThunderClan
Ivy - reference to ivy growing in Princess' garden and to the ones that grow in the forest. Decleration that Firestar, Cloudtail and their family's kittypet heritage does not limit them as warriors
Aged up slightly: They are newly apprenticed during Sunrise when both the Three's parentage and the prophcey are revealed.
Hollyleaf who stood in for leader while poisoning Greystar realises that she has no powers and suspecting 'kin of kin' could refer to Cloudtail's kits, Dovekit and Ivykit. While convincing the clans (who are all aware of the prophcey) that she is still the third member.
In order to keep an eye on the kits she takes on Ivypaw as an apprentice and assigns Dovepaw to her 'deputy' Lionblaze. Both mentors are way too young to have first apprentices and along with taking over leadership duties in the clan this results in Dovepaw and Ivypaw having quite a poor relationship with their mentors. After Hollyleaf betrayal and death Lionblaze does not assign Ivypaw a new mentor.
Both sisters feel exploited by StarClan and by extension Lionblaze and Jayfeather when they try and take down Hollyleaf and Sol. Dovewing wishes she was never part of the prophcey while Ivypool feels she was roped in by Lionblaze and Jayfeather but never treat her as an equal. Compared to her sister Ivypaw is expendable, a cat that coyld be disposed of to protect the Three. By Sol's defeat both of them end on bitter terms with Lionblaze and Jayfeather and the sisterly bond they once shared tainted with resentment.
________
Dovewing
She is pushed by Jayfeather to learn how to use her powers so she can hear what Sol is planning. After Hollyleaf's death Lionblaze reveals Dovepaw to the other rebels as the third prophcey cat. Dovepaw feels pressure to live up to be the saviour that her family, ThunderClan and rebels in other clans see her as.
Upon accompying Lionblaze to a meeting with ShadowClan rebels she falls for Tigerheart who is the first cat to wants to know more about her, not just what her powers can do. She is given the name Dovesong. Upon Sol's defeat she chooses to live with Tigerheart in ShadowClan, feeling neglected by her clan and used by her mentor who was supposed to protect her. ShadowClan easily accept her (due to less importance on blood ties) and due to them seeing her defeat of Sol as the feat needed in her initiation cermony. Rowanstar, the new leader of ShadowClan changes her name to Dovewing.
More info on ShadowClan here:
Ivypool
Ivypaw is also drawn into the rebel movement by Lionblaze who tasks her to spy on Sol under the guise of due to being Hollyleaf's apprentice (and by extension, her successor if things went differently). Ivypool begins to resent the Three as Lionblaze and Jayfeather repeatedly pile dangerous responsibilities onto her while openly aknowledging the fact that she will never be equal to them and Ivypaw soon grows to resent Dovepaw too, feeling disposable compared to her sister. She pushes herself to be the best fighter in the clan to show the Three that she is willing to pull her own weight. After Sol's defeat despite her tough exterior she is forced to deal with feelings of worthlesness. After meeting Fernsong (who is an outsider in this AU) she allows herself to heal and to move on from Jayfeather and Lionblaze, realising she does not need to prove herself to them, already being surrounded by cats who love and admire her for who she is like Fernsong, her parents, her apprentices and her friends.
_________
Relationship with Parents
Despite Dovewing choosing to leave ThunderClan Cloudtail and Brightheart are not neglectful parents although due to Lionblaze and Jayfeather's influence, Ivypool and Dovewing become more distant with their parents.
Both Brightheart and Cloudtail are saddened by Dovewing's decision to leave ThunderClan although not angry. Just as Cloudtail meets Princess on the border of twolegplace sometimes Dovewing occasionally meets her parents to check up on them (though heavily discouraged by her new clan).

I have wildly mixed feelings on Brambleclaw/star. And in a way i think hes like... one of the most fumbled characters? In that I dont think what was probably intended (given the sort of book series this is and the Protagonist roll that he fills) was achived?? But i also think that makes him an oddly compelling and tragic figure?
He's set up to be like... the next firestar. But 25% more edgy. The saviour of the clans, the cat who, despite his father, is destined to become a noble leader and carry on firestar's legacy instead. But he like... doesn't? Squirrelflight is consistantly better at being "Firestar" than he ever is. In a way that seems to really fuck with his perception of her, and thus their relationship.
I think theres an intersting thing, where a lot of the cats idolize Firestar, and just look at what he acomplished. And not really the reasons he was able to acomplish those things. (And i think this really ripples out into Sparkpelt, Greystripe, and maybe Lionblaze as well) The fact that he looked beyond their wrote set of morals to what was actually benifical for everyone. Its boiled down to "he always did the right thing". And for most of these cats the "right thing" is the Warrior Code, and clan tradition. Brambleclaw, too enchrenched in the warrior code, and too insecure to ever really risk his ambitions, is tragically unable to really seize the destiny that seems set out for him, both by StarClan (seemingly), and the authors. He's fueled to "prove" himself better than his father, to show that hes more like firestar. He wanted to be more like Firestar. But because of this socital misunderstanding of -Firestar-, and becaue of his own warped desires for power, he can't. Maybe he does see some of that in Nightheart. In the way he questions tradition and the code. He should have seen and valued it in his own deputy and mate, maybe thats what he wanted to value. But maybe she was just too close.

Dark Forest Resident: Whispkit
Tumblr media
Aliases / Nicknames: The Lost Spirits
Gender: none
Sexuality: none
Family: unknown
Other Relations: unknown
Clan: Shadowclan
Rank: kit
Characteristics: a amalgamation of lost kittens who will stop at nothing for revenge of their unjust deaths
Number of Victims: 68
Method of Harm: constant wailing, causing the Clan to go mad
Known Victims: unnamed Clan cats
Victim Profile: Shadowclan cats
Cause of Death: ??
Cautionary Tale: an angry spirit is not one that is easily soothed
Story:
A kitten born, an omen of Starclan
a curse was wrought, and none with a plan
The kitten was starved since first light shined upon it,
with ribs peaking through, this slim little kit
It was ravenous, a hunger unresolved
til' its mothers, the problem they solved
They tossed the small thing in the river, oh yes
And once they did, a howl rung through its chest
The kit was mad, beyond consoling,
and through the waves, its life kept holding
Soaked to the bone, enraged and pissed,
the kit growled and yowled and hissed
It never truly died, still roaming the forest,
and the woods chimed in, an unholy chorus
So many kits joined its wail,
to tell a sorrowful awful tale,
of the stolen life that was quite unfair
Silence became oh so rare
The Clans went mad, all hopes were lost
until a medicine cat chimed in his thoughts
"We shall ask Starclan to rid this curse!
Lest their cries attract something worse."
The medicine cat was deemed a saviour,
the beacon of hope became a laser
And after all was said and done,
the air was heavy and still hung,
for all of the rituals in the world could not soothe
the angry spirits who longed for truth
And so within a forest dark as night,
they will await their next bite,
merged in one, faceless cat
Soon all will feel their wrath
Additional Information:
--Submission by @ribbonzregretz
--Originally was gonna be 1 singular kitten spirit, but as they started writing it amde more sense that itd be a buncha spirits merged into 1, which is also why they have so few features
--When they speak, it sounds like multiple voices underneath one predominant voice, the predominant voice changes from time to time.
--Because it’s so many spirits merged together, they was unable to write a singular cause of death
--THIS IS SO COOL

🌼DaisyClan: Moon 17-18🌼
Moon 17
Fawnpaw watched in awe as his mentor ran up the side of the tree as easily as if he were running along the forest floor. Reaching the lowest branch, Echofall crouched near the trunk and smiled down at Fawnpaw. “Alright, Fawnpaw,” he called, “Your turn! See if you can climb to me.”
“Okay!” Fawnpaw mewed. His tail quivering excitedly, he leapt at the tree, digging his claws into the soft bark. Fawnpaw felt himself starting to slide down, and his heart jumped into his throat. But he pushed hard with his hind legs, and began to claw his way up the trunk. Fawnpaw noticed that the faster he climbed, the easier it was to keep his balance. Looking up, Fawnpaw saw how quickly he was approaching the branch where Echofall sat. A spark of excitement flashed through him. This was easy!
With a final heave, Fawnpaw pulled himself into the lowest branch. His tail was puffed up and he was panting, but there was a big smile on his face. “I did it!” He squeaked.
Echofall purred. “You sure did!” He said. “Now - catch your breath for a moment, then follow me down.” Fawnpaw sucked in a breath of surprise as Echofall slid off the branch. The orange tom scrambled head-first down the trunk, letting gravity do most of the work. When he was low enough, Echofall made a graceful leap for the forest floor, landing with barely a sound. He turned and grinned at Fawnpaw, waving his tail for him to follow.
Fawnpaw stared down at his mentor, eyes wide. Going down looked way harder than going up. Fawnpaw felt a sudden twist of fear in his belly. What if he fell?
“Come on, Fawnpaw, you can do it!” The yowl didn’t come from Echofall, but from his mother, Icyback. She bounded up to the tree trunk, peering up at Fawnpaw. “Don’t worry,” she meowed, “I’ll catch you if you slip!”
Feeling a little braver, Fawnpaw scooted to the edge of the branch. He took a deep breath and put his front paws on the trunk, pushing off with his back legs. His body was parallel to the tree now, and he was heading down. For a second, Fawnpaw felt relieved. Okay, he thought, This isn’t so bad. But then he started to pick up speed, and he was moving too fast to be able to dig his claws into the trunk. Fawnpaw gave a squeak of terror. The ground was approaching too quickly. He was going to fall!
Fawnpaw squeezed his eyes shut, preparing to feel his body slam onto the solid earth. But instead, he collided with something warm and soft, and he felt teeth grip his scruff, slowing his descent. Fawnpaw’s saviour tipped backwards under his weight, and they both collapsed onto the dusty ground beneath the tree. Fawnpaw blinked his eyes open.
“Oof,” Icyback grunted from beneath him, “You’re getting heavy, Fawnpaw.” She smiled, and reached up with her forepaws to cuddle her son close. “Are you alright?”
Fawnpaw purred, feeling his heartbeat slow. “I’m okay. Thanks for catching me!” He slid off his mother’s belly and gave his fur a shake. “I didn’t hurt you, did I?”
“No. You don’t have to worry about me. I’m pretty tough,” Icyback teased. “But just keep practising, okay? I might have to retire early if you keep landing on me!”
>>>
Notable Events
Fawnpaw learns how to climb with his mentor, Echofall, and his mother. Climbing up is easy, but climbing down is much more of a challenge.
Minkstar had a vision of a massive, shadowy creature holding a daisy. The medicine cats can’t make sense of it.
Moon 18
Tulipnight sat at the edge of the forest, her ears pricked, and her tail curled neatly around her paws. She felt a pinch of sadness in her heart as she gazed into the shadows between the trees. Tulipnight would miss the open highlands of her birth Clan’s territory, but StarClan’s message had been very clear. She was meant to go to DaisyClan. She just wasn’t sure why yet.
Tulipnight lifted her head as she heard the sound of paw steps. Three cats emerged from the undergrowth, shaking leaf litter of their pelts. The cat leading the patrol, a white she-cat, saw Tulipnight, and narrowed her eyes warily. “What do you want?” She asked.
Tulipnight smiled warmly, and gave the white cat a respectful nod. “Hello. My name is Tulipnight,” She mewed in a voice that sounded like wind rustling the leaves. “I am here because StarClan told me I would find my purpose in DaisyClan.”
The white cat snorted. “Your purpose?” She repeated disdainfully. “Don’t you have a purpose in your own Clan?”
“I did,” Tulipnight explained, “But the vision StarClan sent me was clear: DaisyClan needs me more than HillClan does.”
The white she cat hissed and took a step forward, clearly offended by Tulipnight’s comment, but another DaisyClan cat tapped her shoulder with the tip of his tail. “Wait, Icyback,” he said, “Maybe we should take her to Minkstar. I mean, if StarClan sent her, we can’t just turn her away.” The orange tom looked up at Tulipnight and grinned. “I’m Woodfur, by the way.”
“Pleased to meet you, Woodfur,” Tulipnight purred, impressed by the young tom’s manners. Icyback, however, was still unconvinced. To her credit, though, she seemed to make a valiant effort to smooth her bristling fur.
“Alright,” Icyback grumbled after a moment. “We’ll take her to Minkstar.” The white she-cat turned, then shot a warning look over her shoulder. “Just don’t try anything,” she said to Tulipnight, “we’ll be watching you!”
“I wouldn’t dream of it,” Tulipnight purred. How amusing, she thought, that this strong, young cat should feel threatened by me!
>>>
Notable Events
A warrior from HillClan, Tulipnight, was sent a message from StarClan, telling her to join DaisyClan.
Rabbitpaw is made an apprentice, but she wonders if this is the right path for her.
Minkstar trains Fawnpaw and Rabbitpaw together, since Echofall is in the medicine den.
Even without their prophesied leader, DaisyClan lives on.
If you want to see more of my work, I also have an alt account where I post non-clangen art and a YouTube channel.
Thanks for reading, and have a wonderful day!

A song I think you would appreciate for Leafpool would be Labour by Paris Paloma
There’s one part that goes “for somebody that should be my saviour….” And it can speak for either Starclan or Crowfeather, who was supposed to be this tom who took her away to a happier life, and then left her to pick up the pieces.
As well as a line about working 24/7 so “he can live out his picket-fence dream” — another possible reference for how Leafpool has worked and suffered daily, and Crowfeather gets to be deputy.
it also has a great message in general and slaps.

Does a shadow stand alone?
After the Lights in the Mist returned Bramblestar's spirit to his body, tensions between the Clans remain high. Trust between the Clan leaders has been destroyed, the warrior code is in tatters, and everyone is keen to blame the medicine cat who led Ashfur to the lake.
Once hailed as the saviour of the Clans, Shadowsight finds himself alone in a rapidly changing Clan. As changes to the very code that guides their lives consume the leaders, Shadowsight is left struggling to pick up the pieces of his life and his identity, without StarClan, or the mysterious spirits who once guided him.

so whats the dark forest like in this au? : o
hmm!! i haven’t thought about it too much. in my dark stars au the dark forest are the good guys, and i’ve been thinking of bringing that into the control au + just generally combining the two, but idk if i feel strongly enough about the “good dark forest” concept to do that !
perhaps the dark forest is more disconnected from the clans because starclan have a tighter grip them, so the moment they find a way to train cats in the DF, they take it. they’re not good, but they probably hate starclan more than they want to destroy the living clans. or at least some of them do.
both starclan and the dark forest are forces of evil, but the dark forest outright says it. starclan wants control, the dark forest wants to dismantle the system. opposite intentions, same malicious reasons.

what if acorn fur and leafpool were directly related. like what if acorn fur broke the law and had kits (three of them) and the line continued all the way down to leafpool. what if leafpool was her descendant . what if they looked nearly identical and it drove moth flight insane. history repeated. her old, first enemy in acorn fur seemingly standing before her once more. a healer. three tiny kits. the age-old act of defiance repeated.

we've all heard of black firestar
but what about: amber firestar the clans find this pretty normal looking kitten, and he joins temporarily, maybe under a different name (i'll use...idk pinepaw, thank u sn0wshimmer) he's treated pretty much the same, but he doesn't know what he's capable of yet- though the higherups in the clan quickly notice his spirit and courage. how just maybe.. he could be the fire that would save them.
soon, he's accepted fully into the clan, really finding his place there as bluestar declines. he learns of the prophecy, something that's become more and more public knowledge, and he begins hearing the murmurs of cats who have started doubting his role. their leader's mind and health is failing, but it doesn't take long for tigerclaw to make a move, more aggressive than usual due to his anger at some random kittypet receiving his father's name. pinepaw, now pineheart, fights to save bluestar like in canon, and is named deputy.
by this point, cats have already begun to notice something- pineheart's changing color. and has been, slowly, for months. and, especially now that he's deputy, their whispers about his role in the prophecy are impossible to ignore. he does everything right, to the best of his ability- but bluestar's distrust in starclan leads her to be the one to question the prophecy itself the most. the killing brought by the dogs, though, is the final straw- in her dying breaths, she addresses her children, and gives pineheart his leader name, firestar, which she tells him represents her trust in him to lead these cats- whether starclan said so or not.
the cat that tigerstar sees during the final battle between the clans is not the cat he once knew- firestar, once a small, well-fed kitten, has really grown into a cat worthy of prophecy. there's no doubt, now, that he is indeed the fire that'll save the clan- and his amber coat, shifting from a regular brown to a truly firey red, marks his transformation into the saviour that starclan foretold.
ALTERNATE:
i'm not extremely familiar with pinestar, so i can't say exactly what sort of impact the name would truly have. however, if he's a very notable leader, you can shift the story a few ways- perhaps pinepaw grew up in his shadow, to some extent, or maybe he grew to resent him for the things he did. and maybe, just maybe, he even rejects the name firestar- going against his leader for the sake of his individuality. "i don't know if i'm the prophesized cat, but i don't think i want to be. i don't need a prophecy to do my best, regardless of who i'm compared to", or something like that. i dunno. go wild, if you read this.

interested in hearing more about the false prophet au
So in the False Prophet AU, the whole point is that everyone is 100% convinced that Rusty is some prophesied saviour, and that's mainly because one StarClan cat misheard what Spottedleaf said, and spreads the "Fire alone will save the clans" prophecy, which inadvertently leads to Goosefeather confirming that the prophecy is real. They never check who gave Spottedleaf the prophecy, because all the StarClan cat's are sure the prophecy came from one of them. The Dark Forest cats overhear the prophecy and warn Tigerclaw and Brokenstar.
Tigerclaw is still in ThunderClan, but never had an apprentice because none of the cats want their children near a cat with as horribly violent of a reputation as his, and Tigerclaw also lost his apprentice mentoring privileges because of him trying to start multiple wars.
An additional thing to mention, while Bluestar's kits are in RiverClan, Oakheart isn't the father. Oakheart introduced Bluestar to Crookedstar when they all were warriors(at a gathering), because Oakheart is a supportive friend and brother. Bluestar's kits are Crookedstar's kits too.
Mosskit, Stonekit, and Mistykit are peacefully handed to Crookedstar's clan during a gathering(due to Crookedstar, Bluestar, and Oakheart all being concerned that a certain cat would hurt the three kits[Tigerclaw's mentor].
Tigerclaw is actively plotting Bluestar's demise, Redtail is completely fine though.
Brokenstar spends a lot of time preparing for some "fire" to come and try to stop him, only for the orange fluff ball walk into ShadowClan and cause an outright uprising.
Rusty is basically just there because he was confused but curious. Sandpaw ends up asking Rusty about why he's there, to get an answer of "I don't know".
Rusty is fascinated by Spottedleaf's knowledge of herbs(and any medicine cat's knowledge of herbs) and is basically an unofficial medicine cat with the complete warrior training.

what if bluestar mistook tigerclaw for the fire who would save thunderclan?
first art for my fire prophecy tigerstar AU! i’ve put an outline of the plot under the cut (this doesn’t go into detail about the more dramatic and emotional parts i’ve imagined, so feel free to imagine the events how you’d like for now!)
it mainly focuses on the original arc, since i’m not familiar enough with most of the other books to confidently write this AU past it.
BASIS:
tigerclaw is a ginger tabby, more closely reflecting his prefix, and bluestar suspects him as the fire prophecy cat first. rusty still joins thunderclan, but initially receives the apprentice name alderpaw, as bluestar doesn’t make the connection to give him the fire- prefix yet.
IN THUNDERCLAN:
tigerclaw notices he is being more carefully watched by bluestar, and pressures her into telling him why. she tells him about his suspected role in the prophecy, and he uses this to gain trust with her.
when alderheart (fireheart) stops tigerclaw from killing bluestar, the sun shines through the den entrance. it briefly illuminates alderheart’s fur, and tigerclaw is caught in his shadow. bluestar realizes then that she’d gotten the prophecy cat’s identity wrong.
when bluestar announces alderheart as her new deputy, she also changes his name to fireheart.
IN SHADOWCLAN:
tigerclaw comes to shadowclan, revealing the prophecy to them. he twists its words, claiming that fire would save the forest, not thunderclan. he claims that his exile was out of fear and disrespect for starclan’s words.
while there is doubt at first, tigerclaw quickly gains a fierce loyalty from shadowclan, as he seems to have been sent at just the right time to restore them to strength.
at the next gathering (when tigerstar is revealed as leader), he learns of fireheart’s new name and immediately realizes why it was changed. tigerstar reveals the fire prophecy to all four clans, and openly questions thunderclan’s respect for their ancestors. why would they exile a cat chosen by starclan, then name a kittypet as his replacement? thunderclan and shadowclan are quick to defend their respective leaders, nearly leading to a fight.
THE DARKEST HOUR:
by now, the prophecy has been made the subject of multiple fights between clans. thunderclan has put its support behind firestar as their “chosen” cat, while shadowclan and riverclan support tigerstar.
tallstar does not see it as an important issue, and refuses to bring windclan into it. tigerstar is annoyed, and brings bloodclan to the forest in an attempt to prove his power and threaten windclan into joining him.
when scourge refuses to fight, tigerstar does NOT attack him. he holds his temper, and instead, challenges firestar as soon as bloodclan leaves. he insists on a “fair duel” to see who was truly chosen by starclan.
firestar refuses, both seeing it as pointless and knowing that tigerstar has no intention of being fair. however, many shadowclan cats yell and close in on him, angry that he still refuses to prove himself. thunderclan cats jump to aid their leader, and a fight breaks out between the cats. tigerstar quickly takes advantage of the chaos to strike at firestar.
their fight is long and tiresome, with many cats repeatedly trying to stop it and just as many others preventing interference. eventually, tigerstar grabs firestar and throws him onto the surface of a nearby large, frozen pond with the intent of drowning him.
firestar is light enough not to crack the ice any further, but as tigerstar steps forward (and possibly gives a dramatic monologue), it starts to crack under his weight. too distracted by his goal to notice, he leaps forward to finish the fight, and... the ice beneath him breaks. trapped underwater, he loses all nine lives to drowning, his “fire” put out while firestar’s remains.
OTHER NOTES:
spottedleaf is first to realize that tigerclaw is not the prophecy cat, but is killed by clawface before she can speak to bluestar about it.
fireheart has a great deal of pressure put on him throughout this arc, especially after tigerstar reveals the prophecy to the clans. many thunderclan cats switch from doubting his capabilities as deputy to either being overly defensive of him, or idealizing him, in the blink of an eye. he greatly dislikes being seen as “chosen” or a “saviour”. while he doesn't initially have time to address this, after everything is over he asks thunderclan to please treat him like any other leader.

I like to think the robocat would be a source of conflict between the clans and Starclan. Starclan don’t know that the cat isn’t like alive because they don’t know what a robot is, but they saw it get brought in by twolegs so they know whatever what’s not right with this cat it is probably bad news. But the clans think that this cat was SENT by Starclan and that they’re important to their ancestors or whatever. So Starclan will be desperately sending signs and dreams to the medicine cats trying to tell them something isn’t right with this cat and it’s not their doing, but they can’t figure out what these signs are about because this cat sent by Starclan just isn’t a contender in their heads to be what this sign that suggests doom and danger is about. If anything sending signs of danger and mistrust in a clan would cause them to latch onto the robocat MORE as their sort of saviour sent by Starclan.
I really like this
Also imagine if one of the StarClan warnings is completely misinterpreted and ends up solidifying in the minds of the clans that this robocat is definitely going to be their saviour
