ezra and thrawn both existing on peridea and minding their own business is so funny to me for absoltuely no reason. like yeah ezra does say thrawn's base and army is too big for him to takedown himself (and he's right) but thrawn 100% could've just taken ezra out with no consequences and i'm just imagining them chasing each other around for a few months before just standing on opposite sides of a field and shouting "truce? truce!" at each other and moving on with life. which i know is most certainly not what happened but it's funny to imagine

Can Star Wars do a "what if?" series like Marvel to cure my pain please 🙏
imagine, a world where Fives lives leading to Palpatines demise. Being able to see things like Anakin and Padmé raising Luke and Leia
A world where order 66 never happened 😭

I've seen a lot of theories about "Echo Base" and how it got its name, but hear me out.
What if Echo founded the base, lived a long life fighting against the empire, died peacefully in his sleep as an old man, and the base was named after him in loving memory?
What if Rex and Echo had a falling out? Obviously, it's called "Echo Base," not "Rex Base," so they must have separated.
Something happens that pulls Rex from the fight to retire with Wolffe and Gregor, right? What if Echo didn't want to leave the fight?
Echo's all like, "You can't quit now. You're Captain Rex!"
And Rex is already packing his fishing pole and says, "I used to be Captain Rex. Now I'm just Rex."
Then Echo throws some angsty shade, "Fives would've stayed to fight."
And then they part ways.
I just like this idea better than Echo, the hero of Anaxes, going out in some blaze of glory after they just begun the fight.

"Sometimes we have to do what's right regardless of our personal feelings."
Hmm...
Ahsoka tells a rebellious young woman that she can't put the safety of the man who is her closest companion, fellow Rebel, and who she is clearly in love with, over the mission...
Where have I heard that before?
Oh.

I don’t know shit about color theory or anything but I haven’t seen anyone talk about Sabine and Shin’s differences in their color palettes
Tumblr media
Sabine has always been bright and colorful. She’s known for her colorful armor, her colorful hair, and I would honestly say her colorful personality.
Tumblr media
Shin’s entire look is the absence of color. Her hair is stark white, her outfits are shades of grey, and she’s monotone and has the same expression most of the time.
And like their facial expressions are so distinctly opposite of one another too. They both are saying these little jokes/sarcastic lines here but the smirk they each pull is so different!
Shin definitely looks dead in the eyes in her scenes as well. (In this gif she doesn’t blink once where Sabine blinks like 3 times) Almost like she’s locked all of her emotions down and feels nothing most of the time or maybe tries to hide them away from her master. (Her fight with Sabine definitely brought out that dark side anger tho)
Whereas Sabine seems full of hope and energy. She’s always fully reactive and present in her scenes. Her emotions are a central part of her narrative so far. Her dealing with the hope/grief surrounding Ezra and the frustration she’s feeling with the force, Ahsoka, and Huyang.
This is definitely to emphasize the contrast of their characters and probably some other wonderful analysis that someone with more experience could find.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just think it’s really neat and everyone on the creative team (costumes, makeup, the actors, and everyone) did such a fantastic job!!!

Anyone who has ever read at least the first thrawn book (from the new series) will know that there is no way Thrawn is showing up to help the Empire come back. If he does anything it will be to take them down from inside. Dude thought the Death Star program was disgusting, an abomination, and coming back to realize they made TWO after he left will make him angry. I believe the Ahsoka show will start off with them finally getting in touch with Ezra, who has been with Thrawn on his homeworld. I think they'll catch everyone up, and let them know the Empire is gathering their forces again. Maybe Eli suggests Thrawn infiltrate their ranks, since he had the highest security clearance after Palpatine and Vader. Thrawn lets Ahsoka and Ezra know where to find the scattered remains of the empire and the show is about the two of them bringing it down for good, ending with the battle of jakku. Of course we know the First Order will be formed but its the perfect way to show that missing time period.

TBB FINALE SPOILERS
Tech, Other Characters, and Death
Speaking about Tech, I’ve heard a lot of people saying about how at least we now have a death in Star Wars and specifically the animation that sticks.
We’ve already had so many of them! For the Clones: Hardcase, Jesse, Fives, Tup, Waxer, Gregor (Rebels) (notable clones who appeared in more than one episode and I can remember at this time.)
Other Characters: Satine, Darth Maul (Rebels), Savage Oppress, Kanan Jarus, Yaddle (TotJ), Nala Se, Rampart, and probably more that I’m forgetting.
The point of this is to say that just counting Star Wars Animated shows, we have permanent death. Why add Tech to that list? (Minus the fact that he might have been too smart for the plot they wanted to happen). Almost all of the characters mentioned above were given plot time to deal with their deaths.
If Tech really is dead and not coming back in another show, he was done a major disservice by the writers. The whole cast was. No scenes about his death, really? Honestly, up until CX-2 getting the stab/electricity combo I was on team Tech Lives and is CX-2. Nothing makes sense otherwise, unless we go with the sinister baiting of fans.
From the framing of his “death” (falling into a cloud barrier; never learned what was on the other side), how the news was delivered (from the series villain with only Tech falling and the flimsy evidence that could’ve even been faked of Tech’s broken goggles), the advertising not clearing things up (not much about Tech in trailers and the only scene we see in trailers was Tech falling in ✨Sepia✨), using foreshadowing devices we’ve been taught to recognize since elementary school, to introducing a new character who reasonably could be Tech and who also has the same mannerisms (Pockets, “Domicile”, speak patterns, lots of technology, and scenes/framing that seem to intentionally parallel stuff Tech lived through). Let’s not forget about the creators’ cryptic and misleading posts and FOR SOME REASON CHANGING TECH’S CANONICAL HEIGHT AFTER HE “DIED”?!
I love this show, the creators did an otherwise great job, but this one point ruins it. Since Tech was never confirmed dead, we still don’t have closure.

Do the Star Wars Clones Age at 2x Speed? Yes, and Here’s the Math
I recently decided to look up the canonical developmental ages of the clones while working on an AU concept, and while most sources said they age at twice the speed of humans, I saw a few others debating this notion. So I decided to do some research based on the time when each of the events happened and the realistic developmental age the clones could be during these periods when we see them.
Has someone probably already done this? Yes. Do I care? No. I’m autistic and can do what I want. Also, I spent a weird amount of time on this and want to share it to confirm once and for all.
So, the Kaminoans began creating the clone troopers about 10 years before the Clone Wars began. This means that by the start of the war, the oldest clones would be developmentally about 20, which makes a certain amount of sense. We also see the relative age clones are deployed, what with the Domino Squad, and they both look and act like people in their early 20s.
The war lasts for about three years, meaning the oldest clones were developmentally around 26 or so when the war ended, something that makes a certain degree of sense based on how the older clones act. They do seem a bit older than 26, acting and looking more like they are entering their 30s, but that could be due to the experiences of war drastically aging them in terms of maturity.
Rebels takes place 14 years after the war ends, but we only see the clones again in Season 2, 16 years after the war. If the clones do develop at twice the speed of humans, then the clones would have aged 32 years. Adding that by how old they were when the war ended, they would be developmentally 58.
The reason the clones appear to be older than this is likely due to their white hair. However, white/gray hair usually starts to appear during your mid-thirties, and many go full gray around 50. The clones would be developmentally almost 60, which is when plenty of people are fully gray. So it wouldn’t actually be all that unrealistic for them to be 58, and becomes more obvious when you actually take a good look at them and take into consideration their health and fitness levels.
While this isn’t actually any proof, I would also like to quickly mention how old the clones would be for the rest of the overall movie series. A New Hope takes place 19 years after the end of the Clone Wars, so the clones would have developed 38 years. Adding that by 26, it would have been 64 years for the clones. So the oldest clones would likely be developmentally 64 by the start of A New Hope. A New Hope takes place over the course of either a week or 3, which won’t affect my calculations that much.
According to a couple sources, The Empire Strikes Back takes place 3 years after A New Hope, so 22 years after the Clone Wars ended. The clones would have aged by 44 years, so they would be developmentally 70. The Empire Strikes Back likely takes place over the course of about a few months (mainly due to the Yoda training), so again, it still doesn’t affect my calculations that much.
Return of the Jedi takes place roughly a year after The Empire Strikes Back, and over the course of a week or so. The clones would have aged 2 years, so they would be developmentally 72 by the end of the 2nd trilogy. This means that a clone could have lived through both the Clone Wars and the reign of the Empire. They could have seen the Empire’s rise and its fall, depending on whether or not they died of old age. And chronologically speaking, they would only be 37.
Sadly (or perhaps luckily), they would not live to see the rise of the First Order, as that rose to power 30 years after the fall of the Empire, which would be 60 years for the clones. And that would make them developmentally 133, which is not likely.
But it’s still fascinating to me how the lifespan of a clone trooper works in the Star Wars universe. I’m currently writing up the outline of an AU about clone troopers, and I was thinking about this and how it affects them and their lives. IDK, just wanted to get all this math out of my system after doing Star Wars math for a couple of hours (for the AU).

~Ahsoka Finale Theory Time~
Okay, so I see a lot of posts going around comparing these two frames:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which, yeah, the Father and the Son do look similar, but when I first saw the statues in the finale, I was struck by the remains of the Daughter's sculpture. Because that:
Tumblr media
does not look like this:
Tumblr media
so I was like, well, maybe the mural is stylized enough that the silhouettes don't match, it's been a long time since I watched the Mortis arc in Clone Wars, maybe the character of the Daughter matches the silhouette better.
Tumblr media
Nope. Look at those sleeves! They're way bigger than the ones on the statue! So wait, who does match the silhouette of the statue?
Tumblr media
Ahsoka! Especially her live-action redesign!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Combined with the fact that Morai showed up in this episode, I think it's telling that the Father and the Son statues match their animated designs so well while the Daughter statue is so off-base. I mean, c'mon. Look at this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So what does it all mean?
I have no idea. Maybe it's a callback to the Daughter giving Ahsoka her life force. Maybe Filoni just wants to redesign the Daughter. Maybe it's just Not That Deep™ and the statue design is just sloppy. Or maybe some freaky-deaky Mortis mumbo jumbo is going to happen in season 2. Your guess is as good as mine.

I’ve seen a lot of recent debate across social media about what could possibly happen to Cody, given that he hasn’t been shown in any promotional material for the final season of The Bad Batch.
I will admit, when I first saw Cody in the promotions for season two, I did not feel very positive about his chances of survival, and here’s why.
In the episode of Star Wars Rebels, ‘Twin Suns’, Ezra comes to believe that Obi-Wan is alive, and being hunted down by Maul. When he voices these concerns to the others, they are hesitant to believe him, particularly Rex.
During this scene Rex looks to be rather unsettled, and says ‘Ezra, no one would like to believe General Kenobi’s alive more than I would.’
Looking back at the relationship between Rex and Kenobi during The Clone Wars, it can definitely be said that the pair were good friends, often working together on missions due to their mutual connection with Anakin.
However, it must be noted that Jedi were shown to have very close relationships with their clone commanders - while we did not see as much of Cody and Obi-Wan’s relationship on screen as we did Rex’s and Anakin’s, it can be assumed that they were on the same level, if not closer. Even years after the war, Rex has remained devoted to Anakin, shown by the remarks ‘The general I fought with was among the greatest of the Jedi’ and ‘Yeah, but he’s no Skywalker.’
Given that Rex still cares for Anakin in this way, it would seem he understands the closeness between Jedi and their commanders personally.
Additionally, given that we also know how close Rex and Cody were during the war, and that Rex has been attempting to free as many brothers as possibly from imperial control, I believe that Cody would be one of the first clones Rex searched for after Order 66. So, he would know that Cody was the one to give the order to kill Obi-Wan, and that Obi-Wan likely died there as a direct result of Cody’s actions.
It has been shown in the clone wars and the bad batch how guilty Rex felt about not being able to fight the effects of the inhibitor chip - so he would definitely understand the guilt that Cody carries, but for all they know, Cody’s Jedi actually died.
So, in my opinion, telling Ezra that there is no one who would want to believe in Obi-Wan having survived all this time is strange, unless Cody is actually dead by this point in the narrative.
Previous mentions of Cody during Rebels also tie in with this theory - the first time he is mentioned by Rex is during a mission with Kanan, when they talk about creating emergency codes during the war. At this point, Rex seems in good spirits, as if looking back on fond memories with a good friend.
However, when Rex, Kanan, Ezra, and Zeb are later captured by Separatist droids, Rex experiences a small episode of PTSD. He is clearly panicked, and when he hears Kanan’s voice urgently calling out to him, he assumes it is Cody, and calls out his name. Kanan brings him back to the present, but Rex is clearly shaken up, and says ‘I thought you were someone else,’ pointedly avoiding mentioning Cody’s name again.
With all this considered, and given that Rex has clearly gone through events traumatic enough to take him out of the fight against the empire by the time of Rebels, I personally don’t think we should hold out much hope for Cody’s survival :(((
