COMMISSIONS ARE NOW OPEN!

Hello, everyone! My circumstances are getting a little bit more complicated and it's been fairly tricky to find a job over the past year (aaand it's only going to get worse...), so it's time for me to fully, officially, reopen commissions. Some prices have increased since the last time I did this, mainly in the hopes that this reflects my improving skills a little better. Some options are quite costly (particularly the animations and comics) because they demand a ton more work than one might expect. Terms are also more strict than they used to be in order to ensure a more professional dynamic between myself and anyone who commissions me.

Send me a DM if you have a commission in mind, but first, make sure to read through the Read More. I want to expand on what's stated in the final picture to ensure better clarity on the terms of my services:

I'm open to working with any fandom or OC, be it one I'm familiar with or not. I'm also open to working with crossovers, as well as making book/fic/album covers, and even drawing real people as characters of a fandom of the commissioner's choice.

I am open to drawing ship/romance content but, tied directly to the next point...

I reserve the right to refuse any commissions that make me uncomfortable in any given way. This does not mean that everything besides my OTPs and the headcanons I support is guaranteed to be rejected, but it does mean that, if the behavior of the commissioner or the specific subject of the commission does not sit well with me, for any given reason, I will decline the commission. I won't work on something that squicks me, nor with someone who displeases me. No artist should.

Animals, mythological creatures, gore and +18 requests are fundamentally valid but must be discussed thoroughly first. None of these areas are my forte as an artist, as much as I've dabbled in them here and there, so, in order to get it right, I may need extra time and I will most likely modify the base price for any requests that includes these elements.

Payments will be done through PayPal or Wise. The final, full-resolution piece will not be delivered until full payment is completed. Half payment is expected at the start of the process, the second half at the end. The client is entitled to two revisions of the art process to ensure expectations are met. If a piece does not match your expectations after the revisions, the commission will be considered cancelled and you won't need to pay the second half of the expense. Any commissioner who wishes to pay upfront from the get-go does so at their own risk. Revisions are always included, but there will be no refunds if the final piece is not up to the commissioner's standards.

The commissioner is allowed to publish and share the commissioned work across social media, provided it follows the rules of each site (as in, don't post any +18 artworks on sites that do not allow it, pretty much). I can offer basic Glaze and Nightshade in order to protect the artwork from AI theft, to no added expense. Credit MUST be given to me as the artist whenever commissioned pieces are posted elsewhere.

Emerie was (one of many) wasted original characters for TBBshow, y'know?

Like...

... I don't feel for her. Yeah, it seems like she's set up to be Omega's parallel, and yeah, there was lead up to her declaration of being a clone (more so than whatever fucking lead up S1 had for its finale).

But uh...

What, exactly, is special about her as a character?

Significant personality? No. Even TBBshow's variant of the BBs had Personality for Days. She's got the Overlogical Persona, and only when the Camera was on her for an episode did she decide that she needed the morals of Omega... Frankly, she would've done better being kept an antagonist. ... Hemlock has personality, Rampart has Personality--though I'd argue that they both have the SAME Personality, just in Different Roles (Talk about copypasting your own stuff). ... Infact, she's practically a Tech Copy, that's how little personality they bothered to give her.

Aesthetic? Pff. No. She's caught the Star Wars (and let's face it, most Sci-fantasy shows, video games, media, most of the action genre... most of the adventure genre... you fuckin name it) "Pretty Woman Disease". She's meant to look sexy with very minimum masculine traits. ... Which means she's dull as hell to look at, because there's nothing to catch the eye beyond Barbie Doll. Personally, if I want a barbie doll character, I can just go out and buy Barbie. She's got no freckles, no scars, no significant body phenotype, she only partially looks like a clone (and frankly if they had given her more of a Fett Clone appearance, so like muscles and tallness and strong jaw, that would've given her a damn good eye-catching appearance. ) ( Plus, I like a lady who looks like she can turn my spine into a pretzel. ) She's got no significant armor (Personally I would've loved if she was CX02, because that would've given her Something. )

Her name is Mando'a. "Emuurir'Kar" probably means "Joy" (Emuurir means Enjoyment so...) Which, is a start... But uh, name how many old OCs we all have out there, whose names ended up being Nightshade or Twilight or Rei. You can have a good name, but if there's nothing to back it up... well, its just a title.

I don't see any fanart running around about her... Do you? No fan headcannons, no significant fanfics... That pretty much tells us how the audience thought of her. Which means, it Didn't. Even my headcanons don't really include her, because she's just, not, impactful. At all.

Plot Impact? None that couldn't be done by anyone else. Which isn't just her fault, its one of the many faults of the show itself.

She's just... Not.

Now.

How would I fix her, with the TBBshow plot as it stands?

Easy.

First Draft... Replace Hemlock with Emerie. Make her the fifth enhanced clone, and the missing CT-9902, and make her the CX-02 clone. She didn't just serve the Empire, she served the Republic doing the same thing. She's named joy both out of irony and out of the fact that she "does her duty with fulfillment".

She stayed as Nala Se's former assistant, but when the opportunity came to become the master, she took it. She was the head of project Necromancer, up until Hunter put a spear into her gut.

This Emerie gets S1 foreshadowing with the dead and experimentation on clones.

The mention of the fifth enhanced clone gets small beats of silent drama, which will tell the audience that meeting this character would not be a good thing.

Second Draft. Emerie is an entirely new character placement, and actually gets placed on Crosshair's elite squad in S1. He has no idea who the fuck this is, as they never sleep in the same quarters.

She has the same armor type, though not coloring, as CX-02.

Come S1 Finale, she picks Crosshair up from the platform, and finally removes her helmet, showing her off to be a Lady and a Medic.

S2, they're kept apart, until the end, where Emerie shows how tired she is of serving the "greater good", and being the Medic in a meta-narrative sense, allows her to save Tech as well.

S3, and the Bad Batch are eventually united by the end as a complete Squad.

Third Draft She's actually been with Clone Force 99 all along, but has to stay on Kamino for half the missions because she's Nala Se's main assistant. This would go on to be the reason why she wouldn't have appeared in TCWshow during main scenes with Nala Se (such as the Conspiracy Arc), but also why she wouldn't have appeared on Anaxes.

And she just follows the adventures as a brand new character, with her own set of armor and abilities.

As for personality quirks... Think, exaggerated Mad Scientist with Supervillian attachment--after all, she's been around too many Kaminonians, but she's also apart of the Super Duper Awesome Squad. You think, at first, she's going to be like Tech... but instead she's more emotive, more prone to supervillian-like behavior (maniacal laughter, dramatic scenes, chewing the scenary), sometimes even overhonesty. She's the Stan to Tech's Ford, the Doofensmirtz's to Hunter's platypus, the giggly bitch to Wrecker's rambunctious laughter. She absolutely delights in small torments, (provided it doesn't actually hurt anyone--she is still a medic after all), and she has a loud aggravated sigh when she isn't allowed to handle the rocket launcher.

( ... I may or may not have thought about this a bit. )

She's only called Emerie by the RCs because she once had a mission with Boss's crew.

What her new name would be, I have no fuckin idea, but it will not be Patches. (I have run into too many medic OCs called Patches, Patches is a dull name now to me. )

Anyway.

I don't like how TBBshow handles Emerie Karr. Frankly, its also pretty indicative on how Star Wars, post OG, handles a lot of its women characters... But my rage is pretty centered on TBBshow right now.

The light from the data-pad gave her armor and helmet an eerie glow, a new theta-class shuttle sitting behind her as she kept reading. Her head turned upwards as she heard approaching steps and the rattle of gear, the data-pad’s light still reflecting off of the visor of her helmet. “Are you Sergeant Faovi Nasta-Fett, ma’am?” One of the shinies spoke up, seemingly the leader of the pack of four. “Sergeant Nightshade will do, soldier.” Nightshade stood up, setting her data-pad to the side. “And you four are?” All four shinies saluted her, their plain white armor sticking out against the dim environment of the hangar. “I am CT-” The first clone began to speak before Nightshade shook her head and held up her hand. “Names, not codes. I already know your codes.” Nightshade groaned slightly, shaking her head. She knew that clones had only recently begun going by names instead of codes, but simply calling them a numerical code felt dehumanizing. And she refused to think of her brothers as anything less than human. One of the clones behind the one standing up front spoke up immediately, stepping forward. “I’m Stuffs, ma’am. My training was primarily in long ranged weaponry.” Stuffs nodded, nudging the other two close to him forward. The next clone spoke, exhaustion beyond his years dripping from his voice as he spoke. “My name is Fluffs, ma’am. I am primarily trained as a medic in both the field and in a properly sterile environment.” Both Fluffs and Stuffs nudged Puffs who was currently gawking at the ship behind Nightshade. “Huh? Oh, sorry. I am Puffs, ma’am. I am trained for heavy artillery and explosives.” He nodded, straightening himself out. The three turned their heads towards the final member who had yet to say anything.

“Stuffs, Fluffs, and Puffs. Safe to assume you three are hatchmates?” Nightshade tilted her head to the side, resting her hands on her hips. “All four of us, ma’am. My name is Starburst. I am flexible with my knowledge and can easily adapt if a situation calls for it.” The fourth clone sighed, shaking his head and saluting again, the other three following suit. “We will be under your direct order, ma’am, as a part of your squadron. We were originally a group of five, however our fifth member was reassigned elsewhere, to my knowledge a new clone should be ready for the squad soon, but it may take a few more months, ma’am.” Nightshade nodded and picked up her data-pad, slinging it over her shoulder. “I’ll go over the mission briefing on the ship. You guys hit the field yet, or is this your first taste of real combat?” Nightshade walked up the ramp onto the theta-class t-2c shuttle, carrying the last crate on board. “It is our first proper field mission, ma’am. I hope this won’t be an issue?” Starburst nodded to the other three, all four of them loading on board. “No, it’ll be fine. And drop the ma’am if we aren’t around civvies or high ranks. I’m not old.” Nightshade huffed, crossing her arms as she walked into the cockpit. Puffs let out a small whistle as he looked around the interior of the ship, carefully setting down his weapon’s case. ‘Alright then, Sarge. Two questions, how old are you, because you speak like you’ve got at least twenty years of battle experience. And how did you get your hands on a ship like this? I thought they only used them for high priority transport for people like the Chancellor.” Fluffs nudged Puffs in his side with his elbow, cocking his head slightly as if to silently say “Are you serious right now?”

“I’m 19 years of age, but most days I feel like I’ve got twenty years of experience with the cricks I’ve already got in my back. And I managed to sweet talk my way into a ship since we’ll be handling a lot of rescue missions. Not a good look for the Republic if the people we’re rescuing die from something as simple as a ship crash.” Nightshade shook her head, raising her hand up to her helmet as if she was rubbing her temples through the metal. “You would have known that if you properly read through the files, Puffs. Same goes for you Stuffs. Why did only Fluffs bother reading the reports?” Starburst looked up, shaking his head as well. “Most likely because I am the one who needs to know everyone’s medical history, that includes ages.” Fluffs muttered, setting down his medical pack at his feet. “And don’t act like you read the reports all the way through, corporal.” Nightshade crossed her arms and let out a soft chuckle, simply too amused with their bickering to keep her hard facade. “Well… I hope you boys can keep up this kind of energy on the field. We are going to one of the active zones. Primary objective is helping to secure a safe area and evac civvies. Once we’re done with that, we’re onto the next mission. So say bye to Kamino for at least a few months. Everyone has their things? Because I am not turning this thing back around once we take off.” “All good to go, Sarge!” Puffs nodded, double checking his supply crates for his explosives before carefully closing the crates again. The other three clones all nodded in confirmation that they were ready for whatever was to come.

They were not ready. The mission had been a success, having knocked down the original time frame of three months down to two weeks. As it currently stood, Puffs was barely coming out of the medical tent, Fluffs shaking his head as they both walked out. “Hey. What happened while I was out?” Puffs sat down next to Starburst and Stuffs, staring at Nightshade as she was squatting down in front of a small child, part of the locals they had evac’d. He let out a huff of air as he sat down, eyebrows furrowed as he kept watching. “Think she’s pissed about my helmet getting cracked already and getting a scar?” Puffs gently poked at the freshly healed scar over his eye. “Stop. Touching. It.” Fluffs batted at Puffs’ hand, pushing it away from the scar before sitting down, raising a canteen to his lips to have his fill of water before passing it to his brothers. “Thanks. And no, she’s just talking with that kid. His parents should come for him soon, she’s just keeping him calm until they get here. We already have confirmation they survived.” Starburst took the canteen and took a sip before passing it to Stuffs, crossing his arms as he kept watching. Nightshade could be seen fishing something out of her pack. Once it was withdrawn, all four troopers stared in awe.

“She… carried a stuffed tooka with her the whole time? Is that seriously why she didn’t let us go through her stuff?” Stuffs chuckled, shaking his head as he watched Nightshade hand the plush to the small child, explaining to him quietly that he needed to stay brave and hold onto the plush until they met again after the war. “Well, boys. I don’t think we’re exactly considered shinies anymore. And I think I’ve got an idea for an armor paint scheme.” Starburst spoke up, a smirk on his face. “Well, technically speaking, she would probably find it admirable if we painted her armor based off of the plush. Might make her a little less pissed we all almost had our asses handed to us.” Fluffs spoke up, taking back the empty canteen and hanging it off of his belt, crossing his arms and biting the skin on his cracked lips. “Hah, yeah. We spent two weeks in the trenches with her. I think that’s enough time to realize we are probably going to get a lecture on the ship.” Starburst shook his head, the other two agreeing with him as they all chuckled. Starburst dug through his personal pouch and pulled out a few things to barter with the other clones in the camp. “Be right back. Cover my ass if she asks where I went.” “We are so kriffed. He’s the one good at lying.” Puffs muttered, fidgeting with a grenade ring between his fingers. “I vote we go start packing everything back on the ship to look busy.” Fluffs and Stuffs looked at each other before shrugging, going along with the plan.

After a few hours, Starburst finally returned to the ship with an extra small crate box in his arm. “Took you long enough, Corporal. Thought we were going to need to leave you be- what happened to your armor?” Nightshade had heard him walking up to the ship, turning around to face him. Starburst set down the crate and turned in a circle, showing off his new paint scheme. “Jealous, Sarge?” He chimed, holding out his arms. Nightshade hadn’t taken off her helmet in front of the others quite yet, and right now was no difference. Her look of amusement and playfulness remained hidden behind her beskar. “You look ridiculous… thanks Starburst. I expect the rest of you to customize your armor as well. Those colors are going to stick out like a sore thumb, but I’m not banning them. Go crazy, just don’t go disappearing for hours on end again.” She shook her head, a soft huff of amusement coming from her. “Don’t think you’re escaping a lecture from this though. Just temporarily delayed.”

1. I want to develop Miji and Sydel’s friendship more so this is the start of that

3. Lan, but up close this time!

4. Ishma, tried to draw from varying angles but it didn’t look great.

5. A now-finished Pilot and Ishma! Pilot, while still without a name, was born without their left leg. Pilot and Ishma grew up poor, so while prosthetic parts were available, they didn’t fit them very well, and so they adjust their prosthetic leg with a large sole on the bottom. They’re bounty hunting to earn enough to give Pilot both surgery to give them a new high-quality prosthetic, but also to fix the nerve damage from the attachment of the first few. The two will later learn Pilot also needs some physical therapy because they adjusted their gait to fit the old prosthetics.

6. Conceptualizing the height differences. While still a short king, Pilot ends up a bit taller than that.

7. Lan and Ivy in action! He may not love her but they learned to work together, and until Order 66, isn’t that what matters?

8. A very sloppy Taisa and Azako, probably doing a form together or whatever.

9. Eleventh Sister does her best to comfort a Harvester Kid who wants to be an inquisitor someday.

The Coast of Arishore: The Crystal Guardian  🌙 ❄️

In the region of Arishore, there is more than the woods and infamous sheer cliffs of black stone – the region is the only one inhabited by the wizards. And long before the wars, Arishore was also home to a crystal, rumored to increase a wizard’s magical abilities – making them unstoppable.Now, Arishore is without the powerful crystal. And war rages on as its location remains a mystery. However, Scarlette, a human woman from a distant region, knows exactly where the crystal remains hidden, and soon finds herself captured by the wizards – who intend to use her to get back what is theirs.Side by side with the leader of Arishore, Scarlette sees a different side of the war, and even a new hope for her future. But there are others who seek possession of the crystal, leaving no future for Scarlette or Arishore if the crystal falls into the wrong hands.

I also just started working on a new WIP called “Warrior of the West” 🌵 ✨ 🔮  featuring a gentle young woman from a high mountain desert kingdom who creates magical glass bead jewelry.   

3. Tell us about the protagonists in your wip(s)! (Who are they? What are they like? What are their goals/motivations?)

Simona, my protag in Warrior of the West, finds happiness and meaning through her magical bead work. She loves knowing that she can help others and loves serving to the royals. However, that seems to be her only motivation in life. I imagine she would be horribly depressed and empty if she lost her abilities...

4. What got you into writing? What was the first time you ever wrote?

Growing up, my gramma used to always read me books before bed, which really helped I’m sure. Ever since I could write, I would create stories. I still have some from elementary school days - most of them are about horses tho, lol

5. What are some of your inspirations? (It can be a book, movie, tv show, anything!)

Music and nature 💯

6. Is there a particular author you look up to? Who is it and why?

I’ll always think fondly of Obert Skye (twinners with our last names) because I loved loved his Leven Thumps series and his wonderful imagination. 

7. Have you ever experienced a writing block? How did you deal with it?

Sometimes I will go for an entire month without writing anything new. But it is what it is. That’s just my pattern. Sometimes school and other life things need to come first. But when I do get back into things, it feels fresh and new.

8. Do you outline your wip(s) or just go with the flow?

A bit of both!

9. Is there a particular character archetype or trope that you are fond of writing? What is it and why?

I always end up with these guys in my stories: the child, the mentor, the rebel

Fantasy name generator and variations of those results, and finding names when watching the credits after movies

I actually have another WIP that I seem to only touch like once every few months. It features mermaids, monsters, a plague, and star-crossed lovers.

1. Is your WIP part of a series, or a stand alone? If it’s a series, how long do you plan to make it?

It’s going to be a trilogy. Aether and Asphodel (Greyson’s book), Lithium and Lavender (Levi’s book), and Nickel and Nightshade (Sterling’s book).

2. What is your favorite genre to write and why? 

Urban Fantasy because the themes of anti-authoritarianism, otherness, wonder, and gray morality A E S T H E T I C

3. Have you ever created a character meant to show up for one or two scenes but then eventually developed into a main character? 

So, Greyson was a very minor annoying human character in the piece I was working on right before AetherNovel. Somehow he is now a very main annoying dragonling character. Still sallow and gangly and 700% done with magical garbage (even though he is magical garbage).

4. Have you ever done something so awful to a character that you felt legitimately bad?

I always feel really bad about the fact that I trapped Levi so tightly, the only way out he can see is death. I also feel bad for putting Greyson through so much trauma. I feel bad for killing Prosper’s platonic true love. And I feel bad about Blaise. Blaise is this psychic dragonling that sees a lot of death in his dreams. So he doesn’t sleep. So he’s very weak and chronically sick. And the dragons are so afraid to lose his abilities that they don’t let him be a full-on squire. Basically I feel a lot of bad.

5. Are your characters the kind to eagerly tackle their problems, or to grumble about them as they reluctantly take care of them?

Depends on the problem...? Greyson is mostly the grumble and reluctant guy, unless it’s a plant problem. Levi usually loves to problem solve (boy can apply war strategy to everything, it’s ridiculous), but he really hates politics, so if it involves that, he’s done. Sterling loves problems, it gives her an excuse to manipulate/lie/kill/generally fuck shit up.

6. If you shifted the genre of your WIP, what genre would you shift it to?

I love punk so much, it already has a lot of steampunk influences, so I’d probably shift it to another sort of punk (cyber is cool).

7. Does your WIP contain a lot of subplots or do you keep it focused on the main story for the most part? 

So. Many. Subplots. The main plot is it’s own subplot. Everything is a subplot. I’m not even sure I know what subplot means anymore.

8. Do you enjoy writing romances?

Yes, because I really love to write relationships. And I find writing romance pretty easy (which means I probably suck at it). So yeah. 90% of my character studies are romance or have a romantic element.

9.  Do you think you’re better at writing dialogue or descriptions? 

Yeah descriptions. I cut my literary teeth on vivid, in depth description. To this day I can write a 1 page single spaced description of a character, and it will not sound terrible. 

10. Do you have a favorite OC to write? And why are they your favorite?

Oh, Sterling, hands down. Why? I’m going to regret broadcasting this, but it’s because she’s predictable. It’s easy to place her in a situation and figure out exactly what she will do. She has a consistent tone, a streamlined (albeit scary) way of thinking, and very specific goals. Don’t be alone in a room with her, guys, she’ll ruin your life in three lies, for fun. I love her. (bet you all thought I was going to say Levi hahaha no he’s mood swingy attention-deficit tactical chaos I can’t keep up with him he’s a pain)

first sentence meme

I was tagged by @heckofabecca, so I went through my entire list of works and picked out what I thought were the better opening sentences, starting from the oldest. Had to stop about one-third of the way through, so might come back and do more later. I pay more attention to my closing sentences, I think that’s obvious, and tend to think of my openers as opening paragraphs instead of just the opening sentence. So here’s a long list, borrowing her format:

1. Wall the Heart (The “Manchurian Agent in Menegroth” fic)

It is the scream that draws Elu’s attention, a scream that sounds like it should come from the throat of an injured animal rather than that of an elf. 

Good horror opening, immediate action and set-up of the question: who is screaming and why. And that things are behaving as they shouldn’t.

2. family and wolves (Elu Thingol and Beren)

As the Great Wolf of Angband lunges toward Elu Thingol, King of Doriath, the fetid breath reeking of poison and blackened meat, thorn splinters and broken spears flying through the air and the screams of his soldiers and the baying of the Hound of Valinor overshadowing all, he has time for one frozen thought.

I like this entire fic, and yes, the opening is one of those long ‘heget sure loves her clauses‘ where I could have removed everything from after ‘Thingol’ to ‘he has time’, but I love my sensory imagery, and the contrast of all the chaos and movement and our main character still.

3. In the camps of the Bór (Easterling woman has second thoughts after the Third Kinslaying)

  The camp is full of noise long before Kreka sees the red banners of her liege lord, the Bright Ones.

Setting and original main character established quickly, the use of The Bright Ones as this unfamiliar group term to highlight that this is a new perspective than one we get in The Silmarillion, but close enough to established terminology as to not feel too out of place. Red banners as a strong visual cue and one that a Tolkien fan should hopefully peg as either Fëanorian or from LotR maybe think of the Easterling army under Sauron.

4. Feasting with the Lions of Valmar (Vanyar royal family as the War of Wrath begins)

"Let me lead the armies of our people," Ingwion petitioned to his father.

okay, I’m including the next line as well: 

"Let me stand for you and command our people when we cross the sea and wage this final war against the renegade as the Valar have commanded.

Starting in the middle of dialogue. Getting directly to the point and conflict of this scene. We know exactly who the protagonist is and who the other important character is. Father-son drama, gonna make daddy proud of me, and the time period is firmly established. And this hooks the reader into wondering what Ingwë’s answer will be.

5. Grief is an Undertow (Falmari OC going back to Beleriand with a vengeance)

The ships that carried Ilsë from the shores of Middle-earth, parting her from her mother, father, sister, brother, uncles, was pulled by swans.

The dichotomy of ships leaving with the implied ships returning. Main character Ilsë. While not mentioning by name, the Swan-ships loom over. And most of all this cadence of listing out family. It is the drumbeat that pounds throughout this fic and drives everything. 

6. The Brides of Death (Flower crowns)

Nóm has many questions, but he never asks about the wreath Andreth wears in her hair, the white berries of the mistletoe, the needles of the yew, the star-like purple nightshade flowers, and the white clusters of celery or carrot in place of the water dropwort.

I used this opening line- the fist part- as the summary of the fic because it was so good. Me and lists again. Andreth has knowledge but Finrod isn’t questioning her about this one thing. Mistletoe and nightshade - readers already know these are plants of death.

7. Neighborhood Watch (Don’t forget Fëanor’s xenophobic rhetoric)

Finrod tells Balan it is not wise, is not entirely safe, to stay in Ossiriand.

Short sentence opening! And the use of the clause to give these sense that Finrod is equivocating to Bëor, trying not to outright admit to the mortal or even himself what his real fears are. Plus, wise -Noldor- Nóm ...I’m easily amused.
