Happy Children's Day To All, Yesterday me and my team had visited Pediatrics Department, Civil Hospital to celebrate Children's day with them.. We had distributed fruits and some food Packages to them, and asked what had happened to their childrens.. @serve_smile_foundation thank you very much for doing this kind of amazing service.. Also some doctors had said that we are doing great work and they appreciate our work.. Also as our motto is 'Dream to serve and love all'.. I wish I understood the logic behind the ‘caring’ parents who wish for nothing more than their children to be happy but spend all their time together tearing them apart for the lives they choose to lead. The same parents who insist they have their child’s best interests at heart but will pick and pull apart every aspect of their children’s lives because it’s not what they want, the parents who try to live vicariously through their children because they missed out when growing up, or grew up when things were 'different’. The same parents who say they’ll accept you no matter what but secretly mean 'it’s okay, so long as it’s not my child’, the ones who 'support’ LGBTQ+ rights, the ones who 'promote’ body confidence and just 'want what’s right’ for their children, so long as you’re straight and skinny. The parents who think it’s really inspiring that your neighbours kid came out as gay two weeks ago but would tell you 'it’s just a phase’ or 'you’re just jumping on the bandwagon’ if you were to tell them you were gay. The parents who say you should be confident in your own skin, but make comments about the plus size girl at the pool for wearing a bikini because she’s 'plump’ and 'nobody needs to see that’, just to indirectly remind you that you’ve put on a couple of pounds over the holidays, or sometimes throw all their toys out the pram and decide that it’s time for some good old fashioned character assassination, carefully picking the most hurtful words they possibly can because hey, if being nice about it didn’t motivate you to do something about the way you look then maybe bullying you like the playground bullies they warned you about as a kid will work, the parents who assume that weight gain is an obvious indication of laziness and poor diet when in actual fact there could be any number of medical reasons behind it. The parents who think racism is unacceptable but would have an issue if you came home with a partner who looks slightly different because they have more or less pigment than you. The parents who will accept YOU for WHO YOU ARE, providing you are the idealistic hetero, A-grade conservative, with a perfect figure and aspirations of landing a career in law or medicine. The parents who think it’s odd that so many young people come out as gay THESE DAYS, the parents who think it’s ridiculous that so many young people suffer from mental health problems THESE DAYS and that 'back in their day’ they just manned up and got on with life… the same parents who kick off that young people don’t vote, but then kick off even harder when young people do vote and vote for the candidates who stand for happier and safer futures for everyone and not just the privileged few. The parents who want a better future for their children but insist that kids these days 'don’t know what’s good for them’ and that don’t understand politics. The parents who use other kids as examples of what to be and what not to be because they feel that’s the best way to subtly tell you to change your ways. I’m not saying these parents don’t love their children, it’s just a heartbreaking reality that so many have to endure, it’s hard to look forward to an all accepting future where we can all be equals when some of our guardians have such hypocritical ideologies. At the end of the day, being a parent should be about ensuring your child leads a happy, successful and fulfilled life, doing what they love, being whoever they want with whoever they love by their side, if that’s what you say you stand for then fucking stand for it. Be proud of your children, spread some love and let things go xoxo
