cassie sandsmark star jorts from issue #23 of yj98 you have always been famous to me

(before pic + additional photos and unnecessary ramblings under the cut)

I made these jorts in 22 hours over the course of 3 days! pure willpower via my love for cassie sandsmark because I am a total novice in sewing and i am still not very good at it. (i really just combined various tutorials and improvised on measurements and then regretted improvising measurements later on).

I thrifted these jeans last year for cassie vibes (even though I had already made her star-spangled red bellbottoms at that point) and wasn't a fan of how they fit + I couldn't figure out how to style them. I enjoyed sewing in the panels to flare them out and then everything else (cargo pockets and sewing in stars) was hell <3

the pockets are not placed well (nor are they particularly well-made), the hem is uneven, the stars are quite janky (and I think I stitched on too many), I probably stabbed my fingers a million times, and I am so in love with them

#these jorts are stained with the blood of my incapabilities but its okay because theyre already red #what should i conquer next in the cassie sandsmark wardrobe #as of current i have made: her GIRL necklace + her red star earrings + her wonder girl shirt (crop t-shirt version)#+ as aforementioned- her red bellbottoms #all of the above aside from the red bellbottoms were made for my halloween costume last year #the red bellbottoms were made last summer just bc i already had red bellbottoms that i never wore #none of the above really cycle through my everyday wardrobe #but i'm hoping these shorts will be an exception!#(i also have a very similar fit to what she wears in issue 22 of yj98- light green polo + dark blue baggy jeans)#(will probably just make an oversized ww shirt to go with my lightwash jorts for a baby cassie look.)#(should i be looking for a denim vest too... i can put a wonder woman patch on it...)#cassie sandsmark #wonder girl #cassandra sandsmark #young justice #yj98 #young justice comics #wonder woman #dc #dc comics #soo much rambling happening in this post. sorry guys i've spent the last 3 days in hyperfocus mode and now i need release

#also also also also did you guys know (long OoT release version lore coming)#all the blood in tst/botw is present in all version except 3D??#N64 NTSC/JPN version 1.2 (equivalent to PAL 1.0/1.1) changed only the colour of Gannondorfs blood (+ fire temple but unrelated)#it did not remove the dry up blood textures on the wall and floor + the bright blood stains around the wooden plank room #that is in both dungeons #OoT 3D was based of off the GC/VC port which was a build of 1.2 (with a few bug fixes and the gerudo symbol change)#and while most changes in 3D were QoL features and just. normal 3DS adaptable stuff EXCEPT #for the blood which was probably changed for ratings and stuff #also also also did you know Europe only got the final N64 version release which was NTSC/JPN 1.2 (called 1.0/1.1 in Europe)#so we never actually got the orginal version of the game #since the N64 was region locked you’d have to region break it #because of this gold cartridge versions of PAL copy do not exist #(which is weird cause grey cart OoT is so wrong to me I don’t like it)#and correct me if I’m wrong but The Shadow Temple is the only dungeon to go down. and not up #which understandable it’s a torture room in the ground but #it’s very uhh. symbolic? that is goes deeper and deeper instead of up like the rest #the legend of zelda #ocarina of time

#Marvel #Marvel comics #Marvel 616 #Chasm: Curse of Kaine #latest release #Kaine #Kaine Parker #oh Kaine #excuse me as I wrestle with this metaphorically out loud #on the one hand yeah being the one who cuts through all the bull and just gets to the ultimately pragmatic solution #of just stabbing a dude is very Kaine #also at least a third of Kaine’s life was devoted to hunting down Ben so it might be a bit of a knee-jerk reaction all around #but I guess the obvious sticking point is well isn’t Kaine making this sort judgement a bit hypocritical #I was almost thinking the same until I drudged up my carefully buried memories of Ben Reilly: Spider-Man #where a very similar plot was going down #so I guess this is just The dynamic the writers want for these two :) (fake smile hiding real pain)#if you want to go beyond this just being an entirely arbitrary narrative choice #I guess there is something to say about Kaine taking on the responsibility of killing Ben #as some sort of perversion of the whole «great power…» maxim #not only because Kaine’s one of the few with the capabilities and raw strength who can take Ben on in a head-to-head fight #but also because Kaine may not be sure he can be a hero but he does know (or rather believes of himself deep down)#is that his soul is already stained so black that he can bear the weight of (more) fratricide #as no matter how many he times he goes to the confessional booth or how many times he’s brought back to life his soul remains #but here’s the thing I would much prefer Kaine and Ben and Peter all just chilled out for once and maybe like kicked it at a coffee shop #instead of All That
