Geralt of Rivia as St. George ✨🗡️ (+ details )
And there it is! This took me like 7 hours to finish but I’m really proud of it!
Honestly, since I played the Witcher wild hunt I always had in mind to recreate some St. George’s art (the dragon slayer) but with geralt. I also really really love Christian and medieval art so I made this! I guess you could call it a little tribute to a game/ book and character that helped me so much in this last year.
Hope you like this as well! ✌️

Saint George
Died: 303
Feast Day: April 23
Patronage: England, crusaders, soldiers
Saint George was a Roman soldier of Greek Christian origin. He was a Praetorian guard for Diocletian who valued his service. When the Emperor ordered the soldiers to sacrifice to the gods, St. George refused, even after Diocletian offered him land, money, and slaves. George was then tortured and decapitated. He is one of the 14 Holy Helpers and a prominent military patron often depicted fighting a dragon used to represent the devil. Today he’s known and revered by both Christians and Muslims.

Question: Do your country also has the visual motif of St. George in the moon or something similar?
In the anglosphere and in the North Hemisphere it seems that the Man in the Moon is the prevalent cultural depiction of the moon.

But here in Brazil, we have this image of St. George fighting the dragon on the moon. I think it's probably a South Hemisphere thing. The moon appears upside down for us.

But the thing is, the images of St. George in the moon only appear in Brazil. I never saw any other culture of the South Hemisphere that depicts a figure of St. George fighting the dragon on the moon.
