Demogorgon sketches before Halloween ends 🫶

I’m currently making the three demogorgons based off my last post but this is just a warmup, it’s been so long since I’ve drawn a demo last and I fear it is my new hyperfixation I love my scary flower babies 😭💞

the scene of will saying ‘the demogorgon- it got me’ in the hospital always confused me. why? because while MAYBE he saw the grey-skinned “demogorgon” creature at some point in the UD, a.) hes never seen it in a scene where anyone else has called it a ‘demogorgon’ and b.) it fucking looks literally nothing at all like a dnd demogorgon whatsoever. There’s no reason at all for him to make that connection on his own. The ONLY reason Mike and Dustin and Lucas started calling it a demogorgon was because El used the demogorgon DND piece to represent it (henry) when trying to explain Will’s vanishing and the UD to the party. That’s the reason. They started calling it a ‘demogorgon’ before they even SAW the grey-skinned creature, so not even THEY saw that creature and started calling it a demogorgon, they ONLY did it because of El using the demogorgon  board piece & dnd is how they understand the world around them.  So then why did Will say that the demogorgon got him if the grey-skinned creature looks nothing like a dnd demogorgon?  BECAUSE HE SAW HENRY HE SAW HENRY THAT IS WHO TOOK HIM!!!!  HENRY with his tentacles looks a LOT like a dnd demogorgon, WAY more than the grey-skinned creature actually does So it basically confirms that Will saw HENRY Because HENRY is the sort of creature that would make will go “holy shit That looks like a dnd demogorgon”.  This?? This creature?? Looks NOTHING like a DND demogorgon at ALL. 

HENRY/VECNA THOUGH?? 

VECNA DOES!!!!!! it’s the only rational explanation for will’s ‘the demogorgon, it got me’ comment. the grey-skinned creature looks NOTHING like a demogorgon AT ALL and will has no reason to associate it with one. VECNA DOES look like one and vecna is likely the one who took him which is why will says that the demogorgon got him. when will is talking about the demogorgon, he’s probably picturing vecna in his mind.

“Steve… he wrote his number on the cup. Your cup. Of course it was meant for you,” Robin sighs, pointing this out for the third time in as many minutes. 

Steve glances back to the barista behind the counter. Their eyes meet and he whips his head back around so quickly she can hear his neck crack. Steve doesn’t see the toothy grin that spreads across the guy’s face after he looks away, or the way he tugs a dark curl across his face. 

“See? He’s looking over here. Just text him!”

“Shut up!” Steve hisses, leaning forward. “What would I even say?”

“Uh, ‘hey, it’s Steve, from the coffee shop’? Or, ‘you look sexy behind that espresso machine’? Or, ‘I want to cover you in chocolate-covered coffee beans and whipped cream and eat my way through to your di–’”

“Robin!” Steve yelps, sloshing some coffee onto the table between them, the edges of the puddle dripping off the edge and into his lap. She jumps up to get napkins, and luckily, that’s the end of that.

Steve doesn’t pull out his phone until later that evening, lounging in bed and staring at the ceiling, agonizing over which regret would be worse – doing it and getting rejected, or not doing it and never knowing. 

He takes a deep breath and taps in the number still burned into his mind, searching his brain for something to send.

That latte was hot, but not as hot as you…

Felt like there was something brewing between us earlier…

DELETE.  

I like my men how I like my coffee… keeping me up all night.

DELETE. 

“Oh my god,” Steve says out loud, groaning and rolling over to bury his face into the pillow. “I’m pathetic.”

“Is that so?” a familiar voice asks, crackly and quiet. The same voice who had called out, ‘latte for Steve’ earlier that very day.

He pushes himself upright, nearly drops his phone before he manages to flip it over and look at the screen. 

OUTGOING CALL - 00:42

He flinches, cursing every piece of technology ever invented as he brings the phone up to his ear. “Uh. Hi.”

“Hi.”

“I didn’t mean to call you, sorry. Meant to send a text, but…” Steve trails off, not even sure how to explain it. 

The barista huffs out a laugh. “And what did the text say?”

“Not important,” Steve says hurriedly. “Just saying hi.”

“Well then, hello to you, too. I’m Eddie, by the way.” 

“Steve.”

“I know – it was on your cup,” Eddie says, the hint of a grin in his voice. “So, Steve… next time you come down, I’d be happy to make you a drink on the house.”

And this, the back-and-forth, the flirty banter… this, Steve can do. “I’d rather come by when your shift is over… maybe go grab something a bit stronger than coffee?”

“Yeah? I’d like that.”

The Demogorgon(s) In The Byers House: Two Demogorgons and One Of Them Probably Wasn’t Real

So, I know I’ve talked about this before/mentioned it before at some point (a LONG time ago), but I want to dig deeper into it right now.

So, that scene with Nancy, Steve and Jonathan in the Byers house with the Demogorgon, right?

Well there’s a lot of weird things about that scene- including the fact that a.) we see two different Demogorgons during that scene, and the first one just vanishes and they never fight it and b.) I think the first half (before the upright Demogorgon) may have been an illusion/vision thing (think Kali’s realtime illusions rather than Vecna trances)

So, the Demogorgon comes down out of the ceiling.

But it doesn’t chase them. Steve is standing there frozen, and it’s sitting there on the ground ready to pounce, but doesn’t pounce on Steve:

And it ALSO doesn’t chase them down the hallway- we don’t see it come down the hall, and it doesn’t trigger the trap:

Which, a.) if it was attracted to the blood, it should have followed after Nancy and Jonathan because they were still bleeding AND Steve was also bleeding from his face and b.) those animalistic/non upright Demogorgons are FAST, the one in the Russian prison was doing highspeed parkour and brutally murdering dudes in SECONDS- and yet even with Steve standing there frozen and stumbling over himself, it doesn’t pounce at them OR even chase them!

It’s almost like it’s not there at all.

And this may sound insane, but I DO have evidence for this part being a vision/illusion of some sort.

So, not only do we have the Demogorgon’s odd behaviour, as if it isn’t real, but we also have the weird white light coming from outside, through the windows- that same white light that was present during Will’s vanishing and that’s present during Vecna visions, like I talked about in this post and this post.

Like, look at this window during the scenes with the animalistic demogorgon/prior to the upright demogorgon:

And then look at that SAME WINDOW during the scene when the upright Demogorgon shows up- it’s all yellowish and way way WAY darker now with none of that bright white light streaming through (which should be even MORE visible now that the house is totally dark, but instead, it’s gone entirely):

That white light is just suddenly GONE- it’s as if the illusion ended as soon as the upright Demogorgon appeared/showed itself.

Which, this being a big illusion like the ones Kali does would explain how that upright Demogorgon just showed up behind Jonathan out of nowhere- it was behind him the whole time/walked up behind him- they just couldnt see it because it was hidden by the illusion, the same way that Kali hides her gang in S2- and those cops weren’t tranced, so Nancy Steve and Jonathan didn’t need to be tranced:

And like, even look at the bathroom window prior to the upright Demogorgon- its that same BRIGHT WHITE LIGHT and blue outside:

Despite it not being “blue” outside when Steve goes out/there’s no bright white light source to be found outside the windows, just like how there wasn’t one for Will.

And then, after that upright Demogorgon (which is played by a guy in a practical suit, unlike the animalistic CGI Demogorgon we saw come through the ceiling) shows up behind Jonathan, that’s the Demogorgon that they fight- so what happened to the other Demogorgon? Because that’s sure as hell not the same Demogorgon. This one lumbers around upright on two legs, moving more like a human, instead of crawling around the way the other one did.

And also, that hole that the first Demogorogn supposedly created in the ceiling?

Yeah, they conveniently hide that part of the ceiling from us for the rest of the scene- maybe that’s because there’s no hole there because that first Demogorgon wasn’t real.
