have seen multiple people ask for a hadestown movie adaption post wicked and we truly have such different world views because i would never want that like to me some musicals are for stage only and hadestown is one of them
#I think one reason why it wouldn’t work is because Hadestown really has no grounded/specific setting#like yeah it takes place in a vaguely post-depression America but that’s about it#TO REITERATE yes there is the factory/hadestown in act 2 and sort of the tavern/ restaurant in the beginning#but other than that I couldn’t name a specific town/area the musical is set in#which to me is a great thing and really makes the musical special#and that would kind of be ruined with a movie#it just isn’t meant to be tbh#also the fact that’s it’s only been on broadway for around 6 years??? like if ur gonna make a movie give it some time to breathe lol#hadestown
