most of these horses are rescue horses that i got for cheap or free. funding from the silverglade manor helps me care for them, big big shoutout to silverglade's baroness for her sponsorship!!

dawns last wishes/"dawn" (gen 2 lippizan) - dawn is a 30 year old lippizaner mare! shes been close with me since she was 17 and i was 9. i met dawn when i was helping around my local stable, and she had just arrived as a retired broodmare. i bought her for cheap off of her original owner when i turned 14! she can be spirited but she is never not gentle. dawn is the dearest to my heart.

freckled archangel/"angel" (gen 3 lippizan) - my baby boy! hes a 7 year old lippizaner gelding, and he is dawn's grandson!! hes spunky and super affectionate, knocked me over more than once trying to snuffle me. right now we do some jumping together and we love a good trailride, but our main thing together is flatwork.

charlotte (american saddlebred) - charlotte is a queen of a mare, around 20 years old. she came from a bad background; after years of TLC she wont let anyone stand in her way. its her barn, we just live in it. despite the attitude, shes charmed everyone. [authors ooc note: charlotte was a horse i knew irl. SSO released the american saddlebreds and i excitedly bought the one identical to her just a few weeks before she passed. shes very dear to me!]

promise you pearls/"pearl" (gen 3 icelandic) - one of the stable hands at steve's found this girl tied to a fence in the everwind fields, and i couldnt help myself from volunteering to take her. her sweet face said it all! we know none of her history, but suspect her to be around 13 years old. she loves to cross any kind of terrain, especially if its wet. ive given up on keeping her white.

questioning leaves/"forest" (ardennes) - this gentle 7 year old is everything. hes still very new to the barn, and he is very nervous, but he is so softhearted! the baroness bought him for eventing potential but quickly found he was not as advertised. he prefers to go on trail rides through quiet spaces, and ive been working with him a lot lately.

aquamarine (gen3 etb) - my goofy little gelding. we dont know how old he is for sure but somewhere around 15. he was up for slaughter when we got him. i found out he is half blind, and we are still working on a lot of stuff, but hes so willing to do anything for his rider <3

harvest moon/"harvest" (american saddlebred w chimerism) - an 8 year old gelding! his fascinating color comes from chimerism, i like calling him patches. he loves to nibble hair and hes very spunky horse to ride. he was given up by his previous owner and i ended up getting him from steve.

mistmagic/"misty" (jorvik warmblood) - this fella is 22! he's.. really special to me. i dont really take him to shows or anything- he's a jack of all trades, and together we just play around with anything. once i got a fever and slept in his stall..

a discussion of new and updated horses

first off this is not a rant about sso releasing too many horses but more about what horses i think are coming, horses i think will be updated, and horses i desperately want on star stable.

mawaris are the breed i think will be next mostly because of that tweet and the fact that they can use the akhal teke as a base. i am not too bothered that they change all the gaits but i would like that they could at least change the trot which to me is the most defining gait of a horse. 

another breed that i think would be a popular choice to bring to the game is another gaited horse. my first thoughts go to the american saddlebred and the tennessee walking horse. obviously showing their natural gait as they can be changed through unnecessary and abusive means. also these breeds have more variety in coat colors and can have paint patterns.

for updated horses i think since the quarter horse has been updated the thoroughbred will be next. i think by the end of this year they will come out with paints and appaloosas since they can use the same model, but thoroughbreds are such a popular breed. and unlikely but i do wish that they would be made the fastest breed in the game. it makes sense that they would be since they are in real life you know, but i doubt sso will do that even though the old paints and appys have yet to be nerfed lmao.

this is maybe unpopular because of the clydesdale but i would love the shire to be updated. while the breeds are similar now there are differences between the breed standards. i just love big horses ok. also i am just going to add that i think that the oldenburg should be updated partly because i think a lot of people will like another warmblood breed and also because of my name ;). and lastly the welsch needs to be updated. i rode at a stable that breed welschs and the current ones are a disservice to the actual breed if im being honest but i think that will be a long time coming.

for new horses that i want on star stable the first that i want is the ardennes. i just love my drafts and the ardennes is just such a THICK horse an i love that. standardbreds should also be considered. an option that i think a lot of people are becoming more interested in is the criollo mostly because they have a lot of cool coat variations. holsteiners could be cool along with zangersheide, also to finish this post off with two horses i would really like is the irish sport horse and the irish draught.

I would love the Canadian Horse to be in SSO! They are also a significant foundation breed for a lot of other horses, too, including the Tennessee Walker, American Saddlebred, and Morgan.

Calling all Canadian players! As you know, our country is celebrating its 150th birthday this year and it is going to be one of the biggest yet! With so much to celebrate and so many events and people to thank for making Canada the country it is today, one very special equine is often overlooked. It is a breed that had such an impact in Canada’s history and development, not only was it named after our homeland, but also made Canada’s National Horse; yet many don’t even know about. But less than a century ago, this incredible animal known for its fearlessness, strength, personality and perseverance almost went extinct and just recently is making a comeback. 

It is none other than the Canadian Horse aka “The Little Iron Horse”.

And so, to honour this incredible breed, I have asked SSO on their Facebook page to add the Canadian Horse into the game. It would be incredible to get this horse on or around Canada; or even just to get it in general! 

Think about it Canada! Our National Horse in SSO! How amazing would that be!
