Hello i had an eclectic week but i managed to finish @trippygalaxy ‘s Fluff illustration!

This is how Wind managed to tear Sky’s cape, he’s just a lil guy CAN YOU BLAME HIM?!

Shifting Sands General Headcanons

Shifting sands comic is an AU based of LU (hehe rhymes) and im very much obsessed with it! So I made some small and brief headcanons for the fuckers

Comic by @vaathnaos and includes only Sky, Time, Wind and Legend!

Sky, blessed with big beautiful lips, has to wear a lot of chap stick (or ointments similar to that) because his lips get dry often, especially after going down to the surface.

Sky is the PERFECT temperature at all times, making him the perfect cuddle buddy

Legend learned to sew from Ravio but is shit at it- unlike Ravio who actually has quite a skill for it.

Legend will only eat fruits/veggies with a knife, he says its cause he hates getting the juices on his hands but really, Sir Raven did it once and Legend thought it was so cool that he always does it now.

Wind didnt start drinking alcohol when he became a pirate, it was actually a common practice on Outset Island for foods to have some sort of alcoholic base to them (ie, curtain fish, breads, pastas were soaked in alcohol)

Wind loves the feeling of sand under his feet but HATES mud or wet grass, its slippery and wet and gooey and gross and it takes forever to clean off his feet.

Only thing that he hates more is wearing close toed shoes

Time has a habit of calling the others “boy,” something he picked up from the military as a General (its how he would often refer to his soldiers, yes even the fem soldiers)

Time takes the metaphor of 'having a hard head' and took it literally- that man is like Tanjiro from demon slayer and could knock out a Lynel w/ a headbutt

Time, Sky and Legend all call Wind different little nicknames, and its a unspoken competition on how wild they can get with them before Wind says something, so far Sky is winning (he's somehow managed to call Wind 'Small fry' without getting cursed out, Legend is pissed)

Time has called Legend a Punk, and Legend took the name with pride (he has no idea what that means but hes taking it as a good thing)

Theres been a few times where Sky would ramble about his Zelda and Legend would slowly turn to Time with a look up "please let me hit it," the look has been met with a shake of a head.

Okay but it's super interesting how

Din = Power = Ganondorf

Naryu = Wisdom = Zelda

Farore = Courage = Link.

Because Din, in the hylian creation myth, created the physical world. Naryu then created the laws - gravity, time, etc. And Farore finally created life - plants and people.

Din created the body, naryu the mind, Farore the soul.

And the triforce and its wielders so perfectly reflect that.

Ganon is physical power, he is big and intimidating and he breaks things. He is cunning and determined, but that's not what he focuses on. He is might makes right.

Zelda is wisdom and cleverness. She is stall tactics and information and team work. She is a powerful mage with a spine of steel, but that's not how she'll win. She is the pen being mightier than the sword.

Link is courage and persistence. He is the wild card sneaking behind enemy ranks, always moving, plunging into terrifying situations head first. He's a phenomenal fighter with a keen wit, but that's not what will get him through his challenges. He is bravery not being the absence of fear but the triumph over it.

They sit in perfect parallels to each other.

And ganon is reborn through his body - his resurrection is immortality. No matter how low he is cast, as long as he has a body he can claw his way back. He can cling to his power, build it ever higher.

Zelda is reborn through the magic of her bloodline. It's the accumulated knowledge handed down for generations, the unique power she must master, the skills she must develop to survive and get her kingdom out the other side intact. Even her name, the knowledge of herself, is handed down from all the way from the very first. Her ancestors knowledge of her future presence, her stability, is what gives her the edge.

Link is reborn in spirit. He is not bound by flesh or blood. Just like his wanderlust soul he can reappear in any time or place. His variation, his unpredictability, is exactly how he fights. It's what makes him so hard to pin down.

Ganons need to build strength means he can't chase after link. Links impulsiveness means zelda can outwit him. Zeldas stationary predictability means she's an easy target for ganon.

But the other direction?

Fire melts ice, ice redirects lightning, lightning burns fire.

And that's the very essence of the triforce.

Headcannon

When a princess of Hyrule is born, their first name is automatically Zelda, however their middle name will be unique to them. When either a) they ascend the throne or b) there are no other living female members of the Hyrulean royal family, they will take on Zelda as their name. Otherwise they will be known by their middle name.

Some middle name headcannons (I haven’t figured out names for all of them yet):

Skyward Sword - Zelda Hyrule, since she’s the first

Ocarina of Time - Zelda Lyra Hyrule aka Sheik, since they use a lyre and bc OoT heavily features music

Wind Waker - Zelda Tetra Hyrule, nuff said (also I think her mom never got around to telling her her actual first name, which is why she doesn’t find out until in-game)

Spirit Tracks - Zelda Anima Hyrule, since “anima” means spirit in Latin (6 years of Latin coming in handy :D)

Twilight Princess - Zelda Tenebra Hyrule, since “tenebris” means darkness in Latin

Link Between Worlds - Zelda Hilda Hyrule, bc *parallels* (Hilda’s full name is Hilda Zelda Lorule coincidentally)

Hyrule Warriors - Zelda Atalanta Hyrule, after the Greek mythological figure Atalanta (because Atalanta has myths around running and in HW you run around maps a lot but also bc they’re both bad*ss)

Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom - Zelda Diantha Hyrule, since according to the Internet, “Diantha” means divine flower in Greek, which fits with her Silent Princess motif

Diantha’s Mother - Zelda Aquila Hyrule, since “aquila” means eagle in Latin, which is why she and Urbosa call Diantha “Little Bird”

10,000 years before Breath of the Wild - Zelda Mirae Hyrule, since “mirae” means future in Korean (bc obviously I’m gonna flaunt being bilingual from childhood), which goes with the futuristic Sheikah tech that originated from that time period (side note: I headcannon she’s Sonia’s granddaughter and she worked with the Sheikah to recreate Zonai tech after seeing malice beginning to leak out of dehydrated Ganondorf)

Sonia - Zelda Sonia Hyrule, self-explanatory (side note: I like to think that Hyrule fell into ruin sometime after the end of more traditional Zelda games and Sonia and Rauru reestablished the kingdom, and this new Hyrule is the one from BotW and TotK)
