Series Masterlist

Slowly but surely, Raymond Reddington has been leaving things at your apartment. The first was a now empty suitcase. He asked you to take it because he needed to move out of one safe house and wouldn’t be able to get into the next one for the whole day. Nursing your massive crush on him, you agreed, but not before going through the suitcase in front of him to make sure it was just clothes and nothing illegal. 

As your relationship evolved, so have the items he leaves at yours. He’s left a few white T-shirts in case he stays over, munis the one you took for yourself. There is a full suit perpetually hanging in the back of your closet, tucked away in its own bag. He even left a French press in your kitchen so he can enjoy his coffee at yours. You’re also gifted with an endless supply of drop phones with one or two numbers pre-programmed into them.

Reddington nodded, understanding but you could also see the disappointment on his face. 

You push your seat out while standing, needing to pace while on the phone. 

“I know you’re on a date, and you were really looking forward to it, but we need you. The calls are too much for one person and uhh….” Aram’s voice trails off as the line goes mute. 

You know that you’re going to ditch your date to go to work, but you can still feel bad about it. You spin on your feet to face Reddington and tell him the bad news but catch sight of Dembe striding across the restaurant with his phone in hand. 

Aram rejoined your phone call. “And Rickey’s dead.” 

Rickey is someone low in Reddington's criminal operation, who is also working with someone on the blacklist, selling secrets to them. Reddington was feeding Ricky false information in hopes it would draw out the blacklister. 

“He's dead?!” you repeat, before putting your phone on mute to fill Reddington in. 

“Your man Ricky’s dead!” You tell him, still in disbelief.

Both Dembe and Reddington look at you like you grew a second head. 

“He's not dead, he has been arrested,” Dembe informs you. 

Now it was your turn to stare at them. 

“Hello? Are you still there? Helloooo.” Aram's voice got your attention. You unmute him. 

“Yeah, sorry. I’m on my way.” You reply before handing up the call. The restaurant was close to the Post Office, it would be faster to walk than to try and get your coat and have Reddington drive you. 

“I’m so sorry, I need to go, Aram thinks he's dead, but needs help figuring out where, or why or something.” You ramble on trying to get your brain to catch up. 

“Can I at least offer a ride?” Reddington asks. He knows he won’t be able to talk you back into continuing the date.

You wave him off. 

“It's faster if I walk. I’m so sorry” you apologize for the third time. 

“Sweetheart, it's raining, please.” He implores.

“I gotta go.”  

With your phone in your hand, you blindly felt around under the table for your bag. 

“It's raining.” 

“It’s just water,” you argued back. 

“At least take the jacket, please.”

You reached out to take the cream suit jacket from him and shrugged it over your shoulders. At least your hair will stay dry.

“That's a nice jacket. Looks like something Reddington would wear.” The first words out of Aram's mouth had you on edge. 

Your laugh sounded fake, even to your own ears as you move to hide the jacket in your shared office. 

“Yeah, guess I spend too much time here” you joke, settling into the chair Aram put out for you at his desk.

“Okay. I know you got pulled away from your date, and I’m sorry. But did you get the pasta with the mushroom cream sauce?” 

“Aram -” 

“Oh, or maybe the gnocchi?” 

You make an exaggerated frown. “We didn’t even order.” 

Aram's face drops. It’s sweet how invested he is. When Reddington told you the restaurants he wanted to take you to, Aram helped you decide which one to go to you think.

The Ricky hunt was not going well. No one had a clear lead, and with you taking hospital and morgues, Aram calling police stations, even Reddington (sans suit jacket) and Dembe came into call any criminal contacts who may know. 

Aram was blessed with the winning phone call. Ricky was indeed arrested and then bailed out by the blacklister, giving the team a lead. More importantly, it gave you the freedom to salvage what was left of your date. 

Dembe already left to start the car but to also give you and Red some space. 

“You look lovely tonight. Any special occasion?” He asked while following you to one of the hallways in the post office. 

You press your lips together in an effort not to smile. 

“I actually had a hot date.” 

“Think it's salvageable?” 

You pretended to think it over while the elevator doors closed. 

“I don’t know. He told me my apartment’s not as nice for breakfast compared to anywhere in Europe?” you tease him. 

“He sounds wise. Are you going to forgive him?” Reddington purses his lips as if he was actually going to weigh in on the drama.

writing it was my first time writing steph pov and she just---ran away with me <3 basically: steph and tim are besties but also exes, because as much as they love each other, they finally decided to give up after one too many break-ups. and now! tim is with jason <3 and steph is really happy for him. really, and truly she is.

With the rest of them, Tim uses words. Or, well. Something approximate to words, chopping them down to their basest parts. It’s kind of entertaining, especially when it makes both Bruce and Jason furrow their brows in exactly the same way.Not that Steph would ever point that out. She has some sense of self-preservation.

Steph will always be a little bit in love with Tim Drake.

It’s something she’s come to accept about herself, the same way she accepts that her curls will always have a mind of their own, that her stretch marks are here to stay, and that her left knee will always ache before it rains.

She also knows that it’s best they stay just friends. Not that that’s a hardship, or anything. Tim is a hell of a lot better friend than he was a boyfriend—though in hindsight, Steph can admit she wasn’t a stellar girlfriend, either. They were young and dumb—or, well, younger and dumber—and now their history was too fraught to ever think about trying again.

Steph loves being Tim’s bestie, even when that means biting her tongue about his relationships.

Especially with Jason Todd of all people.

Steph can honestly say she never saw that coming.

Like, sure, okay. He’s hot. Steph can admit that, she’s got eyes.

He’s the kind of guy you could actually climb like a tree—tall and broad and thick to boot, with thighs made for biting and pecs Steph is pretty sure would fit nicely in one of her bras. He’s also handsome, in a rugged sort of way, with his twice broken nose and the scar curving up his cheek and his full, kissable lips. His curls always manage to be perfect, too—artfully messy, even when he falls asleep on the couch or takes off that helmet of his.

But… Steph always kind of saw him as a walking bad idea. The kind of guy baby Steph would have adored, which… Steph loves baby Steph—or she’s trying to—but she had shit taste in men. And Jason, with his leather jackets and guns and daddy issues (and mommy issues too, come to think of it)—

He certainly fit the bill.

Except—

Despite all outward appearances… Jason is a good guy. He’s smart, and funny, and passionate, and kind, and—

Steph kind of hates him a little.

Because, like. Steph can handle thinking about Jason sometimes, in a not-so-friendly, maybe-a-little-bit-sexy way. Tim, too—or even both of them together. Maybe sometimes it gets a little awkward but… Fantasizing is human, and Steph is an adult. She can picture them fucking her and each other six ways to Sunday, doing whatever the raunchiest part of her brain cooks up, and still behave normally around them after.

She’s a grown woman. Her hormones are not the fucking boss of her.

Y/N stood nervously backstage, heart pounding in her chest as she waited for her turn to perform. She couldn't believe she was here, about to debut as the 10th and youngest member of TWICE, one of the biggest girl groups in the industry. She glanced at her reflection in the mirror, her appearance strikingly similar to Sana, one of the group's most popular members. It had been a difficult journey for her. Ever since she was a young girl, she had dreamt of becoming a singer. She auditioned for JYP Entertainment with hopes of joining one of their girl groups, but little did she know that she would end up becoming part of TWICE. The younger girl's resemblance to Sana had caught the attention of the producers during the initial audition rounds. They couldn't believe their eyes, it was like there were two Sanas in the room. The resemblance went beyond just physical appearances, even their mannerisms and characteristics were almost identical. The public was quick to notice, too, and during the televised survival show Sixteen, which formed TWICE, fans would always mention that "There's two of them!".

As Y/N stepped onto the stage, the audience erupted into cheers and applause. The other members of TWICE stood beside her, their excitement palpable. They knew their sunshine was something special, not just because of her resemblance to Sana, but also because of her immense talent. She performed with all her heart, singing and dancing flawlessly alongside her fellow unnies. The crowd was captivated, and the whole performance was electric. Once they finished, the audience erupted into thunderous applause, and the other members of TWICE hugged their baby tightly, their joy evident on their faces.

Y/N - Maybe we should start wearing name tags! But don't worry, I'll make sure to carve my own path in TWICE.

Sana herself couldn't help but join in the fun. She wrapped an arm around her little "twin" sister's shoulders and grinned mischievously. 

Sana - Welcome to the club, my cutie doppelgänger! Let's show everyone what we've got!

The other members erupted into laughter, and the playful atmosphere continued as they took the stage. As TWICE's popularity skyrocketed after their debut, the public continued to marvel at the resemblance between Y/N and Sana. I'm busy with working on my original novel for NaNoWriMo so I'm probably not gonna be doing this for a while but... I've been thinking about my Octopath OCs again

For anyone unaware I have a cast of characters and a story for a hypothetical Octopath Traveler III that I've been working on on and off for a few months now

More recently I've been super inspired by a mutual working on their own Octopath OCs (@chaotic-good-mom-friend hi pls lmk if you don't wanna be tagged but I think more ppl should know about your awesome OCs!!!) to think about my own. Recently she did a poll asking which OC should be next to talk about (sry to anyone wanting to vote, it's already over). So that made me wonder if I should make a poll for which of my Octopath OCs I should post about first!

The idea is that I'd post about their individual stories (probably including an idea I have called Adventures, tho we'll cross that bridge when we come to it), then their Crossed Paths, and finally the Final Chapter. I'm still planning out the latter two categories but the majority of the individual stories are in my brain, I just need to properly write them out! They'd be posted in a sort of bullet point outline format, with maybe bits of dialogue if I got inspired

HI THERE SRY IF THIS IS WEIRD BUT I SAW UR TAGS AND I LOVE TALKING ABOUT MINIDISCS SO—

they were kinda like floppy discs! you’re not supposed to take them out of their casing, tho you occasionally can get stuff in there and need to clean it out but that’s generally pretty rare. they were made by sony to compete with cassette tapes, but the timing was. not great and the players could cost a pretty penny so. they did actually do really well in japan though, just not the states!

they’re a purely audio format, and basically the draws were a) really good quality, like cd type quality, which is quite a step above the previous cassette tapes, b) they were more portable than cds, and c) at the time, you couldn’t really record cds all too easily. but minidiscs were always meant to be recordable, that was their whole thing. similar to cds, you can’t record on a pre-recorded minidisc (like one from a label company. if just like your brother recorded something on a disc you absolutely can re-record it), but unlike cds you will never find prerecorded minidiscs anywhere so it’s not really an issue lol

the recorders also use a thing called a magneto-optical drive, which is where a laser makes the disc REAL DANG HOT before the magnet writes the data in it, so you don’t have to worry about leaving your discs by magnets the way you might with cassettes!

at first you could only record through a recording line, so if you had a fifty minute album guess who couldn’t use their player for fifty minutes until it was done recording! later though some of the recorders had a thing called netmd, which lets you use files on your computer to record much quicker, without waiting for the whole thing to play out. the discs had a recording time of either 60, 74, or 80 minutes, tho you almost never see 60s around these days. if you wanted to record for longer tho, you could, it really just depends on whether or not you can play it lol. basically later on a bunch of the players were able to use a thing called long play, but some players can’t so your disc will be unreadable to them. but! the discs themselves are always able to record long play no matter when they were made, and you can pretty much endlessly re-record minidiscs without them wearing out. so if your hypothetical brother gives you his old minidiscs and he has crappy taste in music and you have a recorder that can’t play long play, no worries, just re-record them as regular discs and you’ll be good to go! there are two types of long play, lp2 and lp4, and any player that can play long play can play either. as u might guess they double or quadruple your discs recording time respectively, at the loss of some sound quality. it’s not terrible, but also discs aren’t super expensive so the only time i’ve ever really used lp4 is to record several podcast episodes on one disc.

they’re all very pretty like the one in the picture tho!! these are a few of my favorites that i own:

i wish i had a picture of my dad’s one with miffy on it because that one’s very cute too heh. i really like the ones where the disc itself is coloured too! the clear neige at the bottom is one of the most common ones you’ll find, especially if you buy them new you’ll get something similar to it. they don’t actually make the fun coloured ones anymore, :( but you can get boxes of used ones that generally come in all sorts of random fun colours! the players themselves are also pretty cool looking! pls ignore gollum’s reflection there haha!

they do not all look like that lol, but generally the players are nicer looking than the ones that can play and record. (the one in the picture up there can’t record, tho this one can. pretty much all the recorders look something similar to this. the ones that can only play look very neat though)

all the recorders have screens, most of the players don’t, but oftentimes they’ll have remotes that you plug into the player and then plug your headphones into the remote, and those often have screens on them.

when they were first released they could cost you up to like 800 dollars lol, nowadays depending on the player they’ll only set you back around 40 bucks. probably a good quality mp3 player might be more practical, but i like the fun clacky plastic discs lol. plus the recordings almost never get corrupted, which is a plus!
