Hoo boy. There's been a lot over the last couple days. Sorry again for the delays crew.. and thank you so much for all the kindness and love you've been sending to me and my dad.

I just wanted to say tonight that it's been so damn lovely seeing everyone happy again. Sure there's been some conjecture too as there always will be with big fan events, but for the most part-- the pure amount of joy and fun that came out of Babe Day and the S2 Finale Anniversary was something that recharged my tired heart with love. Especially with David, Alex, Samba, and everyone else who joined into the mix answering questions or sharing BTS. The fandom feels electric and alive, and I hope we still stay that way going forward until we inevitably hear about S3 (I'm manifesting, you can't stop me!). Each tattoo began with "PROPERTY OF WICKED" and included each subject's group (A or B), their subject number, and in some cases their title. The title was given by WICKED based on their character, personality and illustrated the role WICKED intended for them to play. (src.)

Some short explanations:

Jin-woo (A2: The Reaper) — he once killed a guard and the scientist who was handling him. As punishment, he was brought into the Crank Pit where he had to spend an entire night exposed to the bloodthirsty monsters. The higher-ups were strangely impressed as a kid like him managed to take someone's life, not once, but twice, which showed qualities of what they were seeking. Jin-woo was also the one who killed most of the infected WICKED staff.

Jong-in (A6: The Flame) — as a kid, he was drawn to the fire. While everyone feared it, Jong-in found comfort. But when The Flare took over the entire world, he had mixed opinions whenever he saw fires. Fast forward to the Maze, Jong-in was the only one who could create fires quick and he was known for giving wisdom to the Gladers, being the only one who could make them listen to him or anyone who had a major announcement.

Yoon-ho (A9: The Defender) — as the title states, Yoon-ho earned the title as he was constantly standing up for others, who were afraid when being brought to the operation room. It was also his innate trait to stand in front of others when stakes rose high and it became completely helpful in his survival.

Hae-in (A1: The Mastermind) — as one of the four elites, she was the one who came up with the maze's design and the procedure to prepare the subjects before sending them out to the maze. She was also the one who cracked the exit to the Maze, which explained why she was eager to run with Tae-gyu and Jin-woo.

Byung-gyu (A4: The Hope) — the only person among Jin-woo's friends who did not turn out to be an immune. However, he was the only one who encouraged everyone to kept going; he always found a way to smile about and while the Sun Flares had wiped a quarter of the human population in the world, he remained an epitome of a sunshine, bringing warmth in the people he surrounded with. WICKED called him "The Hope" because even though he was not immune, his capability to survive amidst the virus gave them an idea that some people could become just like him.

Jin-ho (A3: The Confidant) — he had shown qualities of a trusted person and he was the first person Jin-woo felt close with when he was confused on living in the Maze. And even if they had escaped and currently surviving the horrors of the outside world, Jin-ho was still shown to be the most trusted person around and would always keep his word.

Tae-gyu (A11: The Sharp) — besides that he possessed an ability to never miss when firing his attacks, Tae-gyu was quick to catch up on things such as how he instantly knew WICKED's helicarrier was trying to track them down just by the sound. He did suspect Eun-seok, but seeing how the guy seemed nice to his friends, Tae-gyu decided to give him a chance — unfortunately, this turned out to be a mistake, and Tae-gyu blamed himself for not trusting his guts.

Hee-jin (B5: The Head): as the leader of Group B, she brought her members to safety as much as she could. While not a lot of people followed her in the beginning in spite of being in charge, Hee-jin was the guaranteed path if they wished to live, her premonitions never failed. Fast forward when two of the closest people to her heart betrayed everyone, Hee-jin crumbled, yet got back to her feet as her remaining friends still depended on her and the Right Arm needed her as she became a core brain to the group.

Eun-seok (B1: The Traitor): when he could no longer see his best friends, Eun-seok swore to do everything he could to get back to them. He begged the doctors to not wipe away his memories, but they did not listen until Antares chimed in and said that he heard everything. Since Eun-seok had showed great performance and contribution, Antares gave him his wish, only with a condition that Eun-seok must return to WICKED with the immunes to get the cure. He agreed and pretended to not remember anything when he joined Group B. He was always meant to betray everyone, including his best friends, for the greater good.

Ju-hee (B2: The Follower): at first, she was not supposed to be sent to Group B, rather she was going to be one of WICKED's doctors. The news shocked her and Ju-hee refused until she found out that Hae-in, Eun-seok, and Jin-woo were going to the mazes. Not wanting to be alone, Ju-hee agreed to join and have her memories erased, albeit leaving a few fragments that would make sense once she reunited with the three other elites. She promised to follow them wherever they were as they would reach the cure together.

The True Power of NEO: Part 1

Introduction

Mettaton has a unique role in the Genocide Route. He’s a Genocide Route-exclusive boss, who makes a dramatic speech about his “anti-human functions not being entirely removed” and transforms into Mettaton NEO. He has an exclusive battle theme, and a speech acknowledging the genocidal human’s crimes. Still, for all his build-up, he dies in one hit, and gives the genocidal human however much EXP is necessary to reach LV 19.

His battle is strange for other reasons, too. On the Genocide Route, Mettaton claims his Mettaton NEO form was made for human extermination and his boxy form is more “photogenic”, but, on other routes, he makes the opposite claim. The latter claim makes more sense, given his boxy form’s very high defenses and how his body is described as invulnerable. Despite supposedly being made for extermination, Mettaton NEO goes down in one strike, even if one barely hits him in a near-Genocide Route. Mettaton’s body also explodes when he dies, but it deals no damage.

Why? Why is his fight so strange? Why would he ever think fighting the Human was a good idea?

Tactics

Tactic 1: Mettaton is the Bomb (Literally)

Tactic 1 Summary: Mettaton would block the CORE’s exit by self-destruction of his body. This would block the human’s progress or at least buy a lot of time to evacuate others, and contact Asgore to get him to absorb the human SOULs and fight the Human. It’s possible Mettaton would survive his body’s self-destruction, assuming he didn’t fuse with his body.

Mettaton (in his NEO/EX form) is one of only three enemies to explode when he dies. (Tsundereplane and Mad Mew Mew are the others) Mettaton’s explosion could theoretically be weaponized: in fact, it’s plausible it was upgraded (if hastily) for this.

First, Mettaton NEO’s explosion lasts for a while. Tsundereplane, Mad Mew Mew’s, Mettaton EX, and Mettaton NEO’s explosions last one, four, seven, and eight seconds, respectively.

Second, it’s big. Mettaton EX’s, NEO’s, and Mad Mew Mew’s explosions all turn the whole screen white and then black for several seconds, suggesting a huge, blinding explosion. In contrast, Tsundereplane’s explosion doesn’t cover the whole screen, and its death makes the screen flash white very briefly.

Third, in addition to lasting one second longer than in his EX form, Mettaton NEO’s explosion grows faster when triggered. For Mad Mew Mew and Mettaton EX, the explosion only starts after they are done speaking, but Mettaton NEO’s text is still on-screen when the explosion starts. (Note: When Mettaton EX is damaged, his arms fall off, and his arm sockets smoke. Tsundereplane also has mini-explosions as it dies and says its last words, before crashing to make a much bigger explosion.)

Furthermore, in the Neutral/Pacifist Route, Mettaton's body is left behind after he explodes, and it’s trashed beyond repair. Yet, in the near-Genocide/Genocide Route, his body isn’t left behind, although it logically would. If his body’s explosion were upgraded to be stronger, that might explain the lack of a corpse: his body became shrapnel that stuck to the ceiling. 1

Thus, he could plausibly block the CORE’s only exit through self-destructing. At the very least, this would massively delay the Human. It’s vital: it gives more time to evacuate New Home, if the human still has a chance to get there, or to contact Asgore, have him absorb six human SOULs, and wipe out the genocidal human.

Mad Mew Mew survives the explosion and dismemberment of her body, so Mettaton, too, surely would survive his body exploding. If he could set his body to self-destruct by timer, he could easily leave his body near the entrance, and then phase out of his body and go through walls to flee. If there was no timer, he might survive if it were a physical explosion, since ghosts are immune to physical attacks.

Blocking the exit by body explosion ahead of time is sensible, reasonably low-risk, and seems to fit Mettaton’s and Alphys’ motives.

For Alphys, one should note that in the Genocide Route some floors of Hotland are inaccessible through laser traps, and the elevator to New Home won’t work.2 Given her hacking abilities and the fact she’s leading the evacuation, Alphys most likely did that. In fact, she had so thoroughly blocked off sections of Hotland that, had she evacuated Muffet from her den as planned and sealed the den’s exit, the Human couldn’t leave Hotland at all. Additionally, since the MTT resort elevator to New Home won’t work, the human has to take the long way around though an unpopulated area (the CORE). For Mettaton, indirect tactics are in-character for him. He does re-arrange the CORE in the Neutral/Pacifist Routes, perhaps to ensure the human will encounter the mercenaries he hired, and he offers a lot of money to Muffet for the Human’s SOUL. Therefore, it would make sense Alphys would tell Mettaton to seal the CORE exit, or that Mettaton would decide to do so on his own.

Tactic 2: Offense Over Defense

Tactic 2 Summary: Mettaton made a decent choice in choosing his Mettaton NEO mode, because it could (in theory) hit hard and fast but still take a few hits. (Slightly less well-supported than Tactic 1.)

Although Mettaton EX is not invulnerable, he's a fairly difficult boss. He can attack with a larger volume and variety of bullets, in versatile combat patterns with unique combat mechanisms (the fast-forward/rewind technique). He uses a unique SOUL mode, too, and if Mettaton only fights the human once in the Genocide Route, the human would have no practice with this mode. (like for Undyne). Mettaton’s a pretty formidable foe, even when he's focusing on glamour and dancing rather than killing the human as quickly as possible.

Mettaton has very good stats, too. His boxy mode has 9999 HP, 30 AT, and 255 DEF, while his Mettaton EX and NEO forms have 1,600 HP, 47 AT, 47 DF, and 30,000 HP, 90 AT, and 9 DF, respectively. While Mettaton NEO's defense is much lower than the other forms, he has the most HP and AT. In theory, Mettaton NEO is a mode that emphasises offense over defense, but can still take several hits. If Mettaton strikes hard enough, he wouldn’t need to fight for very long. Furthermore, assuming Mettaton NEO has a higher AT stat than Mettaton EX and was more focused on killing a human, he might actually succeed. (That's not even counting the possibility he could dodge or fly)

Tactic 3: “You wouldn’t kill a human, would you?”

Tactic 3 Summary: Believing the human would be reluctant to kill someone who looks humanlike, Mettaton takes on a humanlike form. If the human cannot kill Mettton, they would be drained of the will to exterminate, or quit after “killing” him. Of course, Mettaton would actually survive since he’s a ghost. (Least plausible interpretation, since Mettaton thinks the human is a “threat to humanity”)

Mettaton thinks the human might be reluctant to kill someone who looks so humanlike. The human would be unable to kill Mettaton, and thus be drained of the will to exterminate, or quit after “killing” him. (see real players quitting after killing Papyrus; now apply it in-universe to someone who looks shockingly humanoid)

Humans have a deep-seated aversion to killing their own kind, to the point killing humans comes at a high psychological cost. Indeed, according to the book The Most Dangerous Animal: "[...]the most traumatic form of killing involves looking a person in the eyes while taking his life. It is an experience that often haunts men for the rest of their lives.” Soldiers sometimes get PTSD even when killing in self-defense or in defense of others, and their turmoil is surely greater when killing those who don’t pose a threat. (e.g., children) Psychologically, the easiest way to dodge this and exterminate vast swaths of people is to conceive of them as non-humans: as wild beasts, vermin, pests, or simply “monsters”. Although Papyrus, Undyne, and Sans look pretty humanoid, Mettaton NEO/EX are definitely the most human-like, due to the humanlike face and body.

Due to his admiration of human culture, Mettaton might have known about this tendency, and made it part of his plan. Taking on a suddenly very humanlike form would confront the human with an aversion to killing other humans. Furthermore, if he couldn’t (or didn’t) attack, the Human wouldn’t be able to justify attacking him in self-defense. Progress on the Genocide Route is only possible through clearing out areas and exterminating bosses, and the Human can make no exceptions. If the human cannot kill Mettaton NEO, they’ll lose the will to fight (or at least for exterminating).

His plan hinges on a human not wanting to kill humans/someone who looks so humanoid. In any case, if Mettaton hasn’t fused with his body yet, a physical strike cannot hurt him, and he will survive if his body is destroyed.

ThunderCats Roar - “Study Time”

Yes, they drew a toot there. They just couldn't resist.

The episode starts with a flashback to Tygra in his younger years, doing a training montage with the help of Jaga, who throws various books at him for him to catch and study. Not only does he teach him all of his famous bola whip moves as well, Jaga teaches him to do a cool pose while doing it. There's still some jokes here and there, but the main point still stands: Tygra was serious about his training, and in the end, a teenage Jaga promises his master that he will never let him down.

We cut to years later on Third Earth, where Tygra plans to do the same type of training with the Lord of the ThunderCats. Will Tygra attempt to teach Lion-O using the same techniques, and be hindered by Lion-O's stupidity? Does Teenage Tygra have braces?

He tries to repeat the same book throwing, even starting with the same book on "Thunder Lore" that started the first montage, only for Lion-O to react to anything thrown at him: slash it up with his sword. Tygra tells him he was supposed to read it, only for Lion-O to run off screaming.

Needless to say, Lion-O is not exactly enthralled by Tygra's lessons and villain flashcards, and says he wants to take a break to play Panthro's new VR video game he just created, which he exclaims, in a high tone very common in this show, "awe-soooome!" And why wouldn't it be? The game is going to feature the toughest heroes in the universe!

The joke is that all of the characters look like Panthro. Never really saw Panthro as the one that's stuck up about himself to the point where he's the sole "toughest heroes of the universe", wrong use of plural intentional, I saw Cheetara as that. I get that Cheetara wouldn't be the one to program a video game, but I'm sure there's some way to make that work.

Speaking of video games, Tygra's next teaching tries to teach him a basic "warm breath attack" move with the Sword of Omens, which is apparently input just like a special move in Mortal Kombat. No, really, he just has to point the sword up, down, right, and left. Unfortunately, Lion-O just can't help but dance a different dance with a different set of directions. No, it's not "up up down down left right left right", because that joke would be too obvious.

Inadvertently, the code Lion-O does use happens to be the code to unlock a new character: the Netherwitch! This is an interesting turn of events when it comes to classic villains returning from the original, because the Netherwitch technically is not one of them. Sure, there was a Netherwitch in the episode "The Astral Plane", but she was merely just Mumm-Ra Disguise #235723. Here, she's an actual villain with an actual motivation to just steal things and put them in her empty home plane.

No, not an airplane, but the Astral Plane, just like that episode, and one of those things she throws in one of her portals are our funny man and straight man duo, apparently treating them like kitschy objects for some reason. Is it really self-deprecation if it's characters from a show these writers didn't create?

As the portal closes, seemingly dooming them to wander in a realm filled with scary monsters and increasing amounts of clutter from the Netherwitch's kleptomania, Lion-O attempts to do some more smooth moves. Lion-O at least knows that it was his fault they got in this mess, and he's trying to find a way to get him out. Tygra stops him before he can do that, and just tells him to try to do the ThunderCats Roar instead. One might think this would be the one time it wouldn't work, as they're in a completely different plane from the Cat's Lair, and even Tygra wonders if it could work.

The sword does its best, though, and it manages to shine brighter than it ever has, even knocking Lion-O to a nearby rock. It even does the same "tear through the walls" action it did in Boggy Ben, tearing a hole in space and projecting that logo right in the room where the other ThunderCats are. There's only one force more powerful than that.

Unfortunately, it's the power of VR. For the first time in Roar, the other ThunderCats are just too distracted to be affected by the call, as they're trying to defeat some hideous monsters. At least, that's what Panthro calls them, as they mysteriously look a lot like the ThunderCats that aren't the almighty Panthro. They never really continue with this; it's really just an excuse for the Roar to be impressive and not work at the same time.

Lion-O tries to ask someone else he thinks his friendly for help, but the huge fanged monster he's talking to is apparently not a nice monster. I've seen this joke done far worse; at least he doesn't call him a "nice friendly evil monster" and just get beaten up about five times. Someone else does save them before even the first beating, though.

Jaga's spirit finally shows up in this series after his small little appearance in Exodus, distracting the monster with his booty scooty. Not sure if I ever wanted to see Jaga twerk, but that's Roar for you. Even the monster kind of agrees with that, as it slowly moves away from the scene, sweating uncomfortably.

Once he reveals his face, Tygra can't believe it's the master he promised to never let down, and he's glad to see that there's another person who can teach Lion-O the ways of the Sword of Omens. After all, Jaga is essentially a tutorial ghost in the original, and he's going to do the same thing here. Jaga agrees after having to be reminded what his name was supposed to be, as he misheard it as "Jillian." It took me a couple times to figure out what the joke was supposed to be, and I still don't know. In any case, it does set up another training montage in the same style as the first one.

There are a few differences, of course. While Tygra's was mostly variations of serious training with a few jokes here and there, Lion-O's training consists mainly of wacky antics while Tygra frowns. He has Lion-O bounce on a bouncy floating rock, tickle a giant ferocious beast, rest on a dragon's tongue, and break a pinata.

Tygra laments that this is not the Jaga he once knew, and also wonders where they could have gotten a pinata. On the former, it's not too hard to predict Jaga's sudden nuttiness. As for the latter, it appears that's just one of those "oh, look at how wacky we are by acknowledging plot holes" jokes, but that's actually because the Netherwitch is still stealing things and putting them in portals to this Astral Plane, filling it up with clutter. I guess they really needed to find some way to add some tension, I guess.

This tension does lead to Jaga explaining that this is indeed the time for rules.

Lion-O: You're right, Jaga, this rules!

Okay, that was forced, I'm not going to lie.

Tygra finally has enough with his master's seemingly out of character silliness and tells him that this nothing like his lessons, only for Jaga to shush him in a silly way. He then gets serious, and, in a twist I saw this coming a mile away but I'm not exactly against it, he reveals that the differences are intentional, as not every student is alike. It's not a bad lesson.

Tygra doesn't exactly agree, as he feels that studying should be what's important, and that should work for everyone. Jaga almost looks like he's going to agree, but he ends up doing a pretty good joke that made me chuckle. I'm not going to spoil it here, but it's one that would have had some decent potential as a response image if this show was more popular. Finally getting the point so they can get to the point where they returned, Tygra tells Lion-O to do his dance moves, and sure enough, he makes a portal.

To extend the episode a little, and as an excuse for ThunderCats Roar's trademark "better animated than usual" action sequences, the portal is spawned way further than they wanted it to. After patting Lion-O on the cheeks, and because this is Roar I should add that I'm referring to the ones on his face, he asks Jaga if he can come with him, only to tell him that this is his home now, and that they should go to that portal before it collapses. Yeah, it's complicated.

And yes, this does lead to that aforementioned action sequence, as Lion-O and Tygra do have to leap across floating rocks with the help of their Claw Shield and bola whip, respectively. They eventually hitch a ride on a giant monster space whale, and eventually make it to the Netherwitch, who was busy fitting even more stuff she took in her portals.

To make a long story short, they end up winning with the power of Lion-O's dance-powered portals. We may not get a Konami Code reference, but we do get a reference to the endless falling everyone did in Portal.

Lion-O decides to let her go, because as the Lord of the ThunderCats, he should show her the wonders of Third Earth like a tour guide! At first, this just looks like yet another way for Lion-O to look like an idiot, but this does end in a pretty nice way. Not only was it unexpected, it actually gives more of a point to one of the running jokes.

The episode ends with this rather somber title card that says "R.I.P. Jillian", which is a reference to a line earlier in the episode where Jaga thought he was named Jillian. It's a very short story that isn't elaborated on. I do not think it's an actual dedication because it then jumpcuts to a normal "END!" title card a few seconds later with a fart sound. Not sure why they did that.

How does it stack up?

It's not a bad episode, not a bad lesson, and all in all, a pretty decent showing for Jaga's first real episode. There will be better showings, though.

I don’t normally do full review posts involving just one item, but this one inspired me with its message. It’s a heartfelt reminder that I sometimes need after a very long day of parenting.

If you’ve read my blog for some time, or follow my Facebook, you may have noticed I’m not one of those mushy “every moment is a gift” kind of moms. If I’ve had a rough day because my kid has had one long extended tantrum, I’m going to be blatantly honest and not sugarcoat it under some motherly love sentiment about how I’ll supposedly miss this one day.

And I can also guarantee that one day in the future I’ll be eating those words, and you’re going to read about how much I miss my son being a tiny little boy that needed me for everything.

Because that’s how this motherhood thing works. Deep down under all the stress of being a parent, there’s always going to be a whole lot of love. And for my husband and I, after many frustrating years of trying to start a family and eventually turning to IVF, our little boy really is a miracle. We tried everything from acupuncture to intrauterine insemination, and even after turning to an aggressive round of in-vitro, we only got one egg. We had one shot. We knew it was going to take a miracle.

And next thing you know, that little miracle is peeing on the floor or laughing as he shoots you in the butt with a Nerf gun. He’s making messes and refusing bath time. He’s screaming his head off because you opened the door for him when he wanted to do it himself. And it gets to a point that it’s a miracle you aren’t wringing his little neck.

So that’s when I have to stop. Breathe. And take a minute to gather myself. Because really I guess every moment IS a gift. Just sometimes I wish those moments came with a return option.

The New Dropbox: A Pivot, More than an Upgrade

Dropbox has released an early version of a 'New Dropbox', one that will reposition Dropbox from a file sync-and-share appliance — a product space that is rapidly being commoditized — and instead shifting toward a new center of gravity, as a content-centric work management utility. They build on the design of the virtual file system from the old Dropbox, and extend it with ideas derived from Dropbox Paper, in the form of a formatted text description area at the head of each folder, with text styling, lists, and — most critically — tasks. Files can be commented on in the new Dropbox folders (currently only through the new desktop app), and @mentioning of other users is also supported (currently only through the new desktop app).

The solution is not quite as polished as I would like, and at the present time I will not be migrating from Dropbox Paper — which I have been using to manage project work for a year or so — because of the lack of one major affordance. There is no equivalent of the Dropbox Paper 'Things to do' panel, which allows users to access tasks from all Paper docs, by date or by doc, and filtered by identity: tasks for me, others, or completed. This is an essential aspect of work management generally, and a must have to round out the New Dropbox.

The bottom line: the New Dropbox will turn your file system into your work management system. It will reverse the current model for work management, where tools like Trello and Asana are used to create and manage shared projects, populated with tasks, and into which documents are sometimes linked or uploaded. The New Dropbox can flip that, so Dropbox folders can be used to create and manage shared projects, and collect all related docs in those folders, as well as the activity of the folders and documents, and the comment threads associated with files.

Dropbox Files — Folders now have a description area at the top, which can include text and tasks. This is true for the web version of Dropbox as well as the new Dropbox Desktop app. Here's the web app with description:

I generally write in Typora using Markdown, which does not natively support comments of the Google Docs style. Markdown allows for HTML style inline comments, but those lack the read/resolve metaphor for editorial comments that we've come to expect for coediting documents. So any help in this regard is welcome. Here's what is shown when I render a Markdown document using the Dropbox Preview capability:

I note in the first comment that while I have selected text in the second paragraph of this document, the comment and the text aren't connected as we've become used to with Google Docs. But I can at least make comments, and they can be replied to and resolved. But I will have to adopt a convention like 'in the third paragraph, …' or 'in the paragraph starting 'in February', …', to relate a comment to a specific word or sentence.

The best news is that @mentions work (in the example above, I received an email from Dropbox with the comment link). Also, the comments are displayed in the new Dropbox Desktop (but not the web version of Dropbox, yet):

One flaw in the current implementation is that the text in the description area at the top of the folder display does not support comments. I have found that to be one of the best features of Dropbox Paper, and it is a showstopper for me. Clearly, they will have to develop that affordance, if they aren't already doing so.

I fooled around with Word and Google docs, both of which are now integrated with Dropbox.

Comments do attach, as usual. But the second comment is wrong (I thought it would be true when I wrote it). In fact, Google Docs comments can only be viewed within Google Docs, not in the Dropbox web version or the new desktop, as shown below.

Word documents are similarly limited: comments made within the document are not visible in the Dropbox web or desktop versions.

Conclusions and Observations

The single biggest takeaway is the pivot implied by the new Dropbox: the company wants to shift its center of gravity away from being a commodity file sync-and-share utility — where it is confronted by monsters like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon — and instead shift into a battle with much smaller work management tools companies, like Asana and Trello. In that new battleground, the tight integration with a file sync-and-share capability — a distributed, and shared, virtual file system — is a distinct and difficult to implement advantage.

The oddest conclusion is that using Markdown documents in the current version of the new Dropbox works better that Word docs or Google docs.

A final conclusion is that the new Dropbox has a way to go to meet the needs of users, even as a minimum viable product:

The service has to include a 'Things to do' equivalent: a way to find and filter tasks that have been defined and assigned in the new Dropbox.

The commenting system has to include comments on the description area of folders, which would emulate Dropbox Paper.

I don't understand why Dropbox won't support the creation and management of Dropbox Paper documents in the new Dropbox file system. Paper has features — such as tables — that are not currently implemented in the new description section, and, to an avid user, I would like to use have both folders with descriptions (including tasks) and Paper documents (with tasks, etc.), all sharing the same task model and database.

The company has said they are continuing work on the new Dropbox and many of these issues may be in the works, but what they have written about the new Dropbox is very high level, and not particularly revealing about future direction. It is possible to imagine a long series of additional capabilities — automation, analytics, reports, and so on — that could be planned or at least under consideration, that could make the new Dropbox a powerful platform.

Using this type of gun during a match is a little different than using a pistol or rifle. While those weapons that be used in a stealth type way, crouching behind a bush, aiming carefully, the shotgun is more of a run and fire type weapon.

This means that you need to choose one that has a solid build quality, at least a dual firing setup and one that can store shells and is very easy to reload, and you are going to be doing a lot of it.
