To be fair, you didn’t know what you wanted to be in Halloween. Do you do Harley Quinn? Oh wait no, Giselle’s already doing her! How about the Bella Swan from Twilight? Nope! Jungwoo got the slot first.

You didn’t know what else to wear, and it’s killing you! You only have a few hours left before the Halloween party, and you wasted more time sleeping in instead of waking up by 8. So when you saw your old dusty gym clothes on the back of your closet, you hesitantly took it and sighed, “Fuck it, Squid Game it is.”

When you entered the SM building, you smiled, proud of it’s designing. It was you along with few other staffs who planned everything and helped in decorating until everything looked spooky enough.

“Y/n!” You recognized the voice as AESPA’s make-up artist, Oh Euna, who came running towards you. “Woah,” You breathed out, amazed by her creativeness that bloomed and showed with the costume she was wearing. “How do I look?” Euna twirled around, smiling widely. “A-Amazing!”, you stammered, suddenly feeling insecure with her beauty, “You look better then the original Jasmine.”

“Thanks, the girls made me wear this by a dare. You look amazing too, Y/n! Squid Game, huh?” Euna nudges your side, complimenting you back. “I-I- uhh- I had nothing else to wear.” You admit, scratching the back of your head. “Take your places, hurry, the artists are about to come.” The manager of NCT rushes through the door, dressed as the Hulk. All the staffs scramble to their places, cameras raised up, ready to film the area.

One by one, the venue started to get filled with SM’s artists. Their creativity and their efforts amazed you, jaw dropping. Some looked really spooky, like Shotaro and Chenle, then some are typical, like Jeno and Jaemin.

Jeno and Jaemin. Speaking of them, you didn’t actually realize you matched with them dressing up as Squid Game’s characters. And then you see Winter, the girl looking as pretty as ever.

After filming for a few more hours, all cameras are strictly turned off to respect the artists’ privacy as they all have the freedom to party the night away. Staffs also decided to join them, not forgetting to enjoy themselves.

But not you. You just started working in SM just by a month ago, which also explains why you haven’t adjusted and made a lot of friends yet. Euna is probably the only person you’ve really hung out with, of course include AESPA in.

You watch as Haechan reaches out a hand to Euna, smiling and wiggling his eyebrows. The make-up artists flushes a bit before slowly placing her hand in his and let him guide her to the dancing floor. “Took them hours.” You snickered, truly happy that your friend was able to dance with the boy she’s been gushing since the first day you met her.

But what you didn’t expect is a hand to appear in front of your eyes. You furrowed your eyebrows and slowly looked up to see who’s the man inviting you to dance with him.

“My friends told me to ask the most beautiful girl out for a dance.” He had a mask on, with the pink hoodie covering the rest. Holy shit. This man could only be either of the two.

Jaemin or Jeno.

“And? It’s clear that you couldn’t see clearly under that mask of yours then.” You answer, heart beating fast as you give in and hold his hand. He twirled you around as soon as you stood up, giggling when you accidentally fell on his hard chest due to your clumsiness, “I think my eyes are fine, Y/n.”

“You know me?” You looked shocked, jaw dropping for countless of times just for that night. “Of course I do, I have a huge crush on you for a whole ass month now.” He answers smoothly, guiding your arms around his neck and slides his two muscular arms around your waist after. “Y-You can’t say that!” You stutter, face feeling hot all of a sudden.

A NCT member liking you? Holy shit, holy shit, what dream is this?

“Why not?”, he chuckles, pulling you even closer if possible. The only thing that’s keeping the two of you from kissing is the mask by his face, and the thought sent butterflies down your stomach. “You do realize that the characters we dressed up as doesn’t really match with each other, right?”

It’s true, his costume is the masked pink weird guard who kills and burns the bodies and your one of the player who possibly would loose at the fourth game.

“And? That doesn’t bother me at all. I think it’s a little romantic.” He shrugs, tilting his head a bit. You scoff, “Squid Game is not romantic—”

“ —no, but we are.” He cuts you off. Even if his face was covered, you could feel him smiling. The side of your lips lifted up as you let your curiosity get the best of you, “Who are you?”.

He visibly pauses, but then he answers after a few seconds of silence, “J.”

“J? As in, Jaemin or Jeno?” You ask, stomach twisting when he laughed a little, “It sounds so great hearing you say my name. Next time let’s make you scream it, yeah?”.

“D-Don’t joke like that! Seriously, just remove your mask.” You tried to take a hold of it, but stopped when he placed his hand on top of yours, “Do you really want to know me?”.

“Of course I do. I have to know which idiot decided to dance to me.” You jokingly said.

He guided your hand, folding the mask up only until his lips were the one revealed to you. Your eyes widened when you realize how familiar he really looked, “J-J—”

J didn’t waste anymore time and pulled you into a kiss, lips molding perfectly against yours. You stayed frozen and stiff, mind still having a hard time processing the fact someone from NCT, one of the biggest boy band in South Korea, kissing you right now. But when you did finally process, you slowly closed your eyes and kissed back, lost at the feeling of his slightly chapped lips against your soft ones.

When he pulled away, he immediately smiled, grinning back at you, “I like your chapstick, it tastes good. Just thank god you aren’t wearing a strawberry flavor.”

“Mhmm, why?” You slurred, feeling a little drunk for no absolute reason except the butterflies in your stomach felt like they’ve been drinking vodka and wildly partying inside of you. “I hate strawberries.” Your J continued smiling, his heart also beating too fast for his liking.

“Yah, hyung! We have to take a picture for my bubble update later! Hurry up!” Jisung called, ruining the moment you have.

“I-I better get going then..” You stutter, grip around him loosening. He also slowly pulled away, pressing a chaste yet soft kiss on your lips for the last time before turning to go for the picture Jisung says, when he stops on his track and fixes his mask so it’s covering his face again and faces you.

“Thank you for dancing with me.”

X and Jake of Enhypen used to be friends when both were in Australia when they were younger. The two used to go to school before each of them moved. The two often play soccer together and catch up on what happened after the two lost some communication.

Yin and Heeseung were both former BigHit trainees, training together for 2 years before each of them left to go join other companies. The two have been photographed having lunch / dinner together. Dispatch released photos of the two out at a restaurant with other members X and Jake.

Photos leaked of YIN allegedly vaping while out having lunch with other member YANG, AESPA’s NINGNING, and CLC’s ELKIE.

HOW IT WAS HANDLED: YIN was quick to explain the situation on a VLIVE, it was simply a misunderstanding and a conversation that was started without any context or explaination. She expressed that she understands how people could think it was her vaping, however she explained that it was simply a form of aromatherapy to help with her stress, panic attacks, and anxiety issues that have begun to take a mental toll of her health. Later she announced she would become a brand ambassador for the aromatherapy brand, MONQ, that she was previously pictured using without context. Many fans wanted her to be removed from the group due to her careless actions in the photos. There tune then changed after she put out of statement and explained the misunderstanding on her VLIVE.

I made it as a requirement for my high school thesis, so while the art there is definitely a representation of my past, I still stand by the message I was trying to send. I hope to eventually branch out this series in a form of a webcomic of sorts, for people who can’t afford to purchase my e-book for financial reasons. Some note-worthy things to mention, this blog is generally 15+, but I do make sure to tag any NSFW content and general triggers out there. I often post and retweet adult animation, so I’d say tread carefully if you’re a minor. I’m also critical with the media I consume, but most of the time, I like to talk about why I like something rather than why I hate it. I just find it more fun to expound on the positives of my favorite things. I also don’t take everything seriously.
