squid game challenge is insane. how could you watch squid games and literally miss the entire part where the bad guys are bad bc they are dangling money over poor peoples faces? and watching them fight for their lives, (financial lives here and not literal, but same difference honestly)

i've been seeing so many ads for Netflix's Squid Game Challenge, and i was so sure, so sure, that it was satire. So sure, in fact, that i started watching the first episode, just waiting for the twist. so imagine my surprise-

you literally can't make this shit up. i'm actually nauseous watching this like. who thought this was a good idea? how do you misunderstand a show so completely?

Was watching the Squid Game Challenge n my family looked at me weird for saying the men with the shapes were handsome 💀 but like ik im not the only one who likes these men even if they only have a shape as a face 😫

that new squid games being capitalized off of the hypothetical show is so interesting to me. like obviously yes it’s absolutely fucking awful that they took this obvious political message and said “omg more money!!”

in my opinion yes it is horrible, but netflix capitalizing off of this is sort of self contradictory in consumerism itself if that makes sense. seeing these people be so desperate for money in reality instead of a hypothetical situation is just showing how awful the economy is to everyone. it’s popular, everyone has no choice but to look at this show and see the message squid games had to offer.

it proves furthermore, in reality that money does bring out the worst in people.

In that event with the 3 buttons I fully said from the start "in my mind's eye, the circle is green, the triangle is grey, the square is red. Mai will pick the triangle. If I'm right, hers will be grey. Sam will go next and he will pick the square" when Sam stood up I was actually whispering "red quare red square red square" and guess what. I was right.
