I am actually so serious I think it really messes with a childs creativity and joy to tell them to never make a mary sue OC. Like that unbridaled form of joy where you make a self insert OC who super cool and everyone loves them and they have every superpower in the world SHOULD be something a kid makes, it nourishes their ability to create things for fun and not be stifled by "oh but what if my character is too overpowered and cringey...". whatever

personally i think langdon should go through a no holds barred messy ugly divorce where he gets saddled with the untrained puppy and then has 2-3 years of obvious unspoken and pathetic agony over being in love with mel to the degree that it becomes the running joke of the entire ER and trinity santos gets to be the ringleader of bullying him mercilessly and then if he’s REALLY good he can become mel’s hot trophy boyfriend. but that’s just me

I find it absolutely terrifying that, for the most part, women are still expected to change their last name when they get married. Fewer people do it now but it's still the norm and you'll absolutely get labeled as an Annoying Feminist by a lot of folks if you refuse. The default expectation is that you will do it. That you will WANT to do it.

That's fucking horrific. Why do so few people seem to find that horrific? So many women say they "wanted to change it" because they loved their husbands, but they never stopped to wonder why their husband didn't want to change his name to hers. Like doesn't he also love you? Clearly not enough to let the children you birthed carry any official sign that they're related to you and your family.

It just seems so ancient and archaic and blatantly horribly sexist and yet you're still a feminazi if you rightfully react in disgust.
