I feel like most of the hate for the movie boils down to one of two things (and sometimes both!)

1. They wanted SA2 the movie instead of sonic movie 3

2. For some reason thinking the trailer was going to or has spoiled the entire movie??? And there will be absolutely no twists or surprises??

Like if you're in camp 1 that's fair and valid to be disappointed. I'm sorry the movie wasn't what you wanted it to be. But...did you really EXPECT it to be? The first 2 movies didn't follow the games and established a completely different world and timeline. Why would the 3rd movie be any different? Fundamental parts of SA2 rest on things that could never happen in the movie based on the canon established. The master Emerald would have a tough time being stolen and then broken. The eclipse canon can't run on chaos emeralds, they've been inside the Master Emerald and hidden for certainly longer than 50+ years when the ark would have been built. The movie was going to be an adaptation of SA2 (and apparently morphed with parts of Shadow's game too) not a recreation. And that's always what it was going to be.

I'm sorry you wanted an orange and got an apple. I really am. But why are you mad at the apple for not tasting like an orange. Like it was always gonna taste like an apple. It's an apple.

And camp 2 is like...either a fundamental or maliciously intentional misunderstanding of how trailers work. It's a TRAILER. It's 3 minutes out of a 90-ish minute movie, stitched together to make you intrigued without spoiling the plot.

There's gonna be surprises in the movie! Sonic is working for GUN in the trailer, bummer, but we have 87 other minutes for him to go "Hey wait that's bad" and stop working with them. Amy and Rouge aren't in the trailer, that sucks. But there's 87 other minutes for them to show up! To be a surprise! Super Sonic wasn't in the trailer for movie 2! Gerald's alive? No the horror! Or is he? We don't know! Could be a trick or a twist!

Cuz that's what movies HAVE.

Twists! Surprises! Cool shit to make people go "YOOOOO!"

Trailers? Good ones DON'T spoil the entire plot of the movie. And assuming you know the entire movie based off 3 minutes is - again - either a fundamental or malicious misunderstanding.

Anyways just let people be excited. If you're not, that's fair and fine. You have every right not to be. But like. Idk. Don't shit on people for it??? Maybe??? Is that too much to ask???

Squid facts: Humboldt squid (also called the red devil) are very aggressive and known to attack deep sea divers. They can live in large groups of 20+ squids and change colors/flash patterns to communicate. They have teeth on their suckers.

actually!!! humboldt squids very rarely attack divers, but when they do, its because the divers approach a feeding shoal and, since they're not rapidly changing colors to communicate their intentions, a squid or two will become aggressive. the divers essentially showed up to a dinner party wearing the wrong color and have to be punished for their absolutely rancid vibe. a fair punishment tbh. they're very curious and very friendly with things that do abide by the dress code, like submarine lights :D

they're also called flying squid because they've been known to break the water's surface to avoid predators. they're just little guys who want to light up and jump and also occasionally resort to cannibalism but we can ignore that <3

Had two Squid Memes ideas related to the Splatoon DLCs

First is that...well, Tartar's entire identity is built on the fact that humans are long extinct in Splatoon canon. But that's obviously not the case in SMG4 canon. And as a consequence, Tartar is one of the very few non-Mario characters to remember a world without memes. And the combination of dealing with two conflicting sets of memories, discovering that the version of humans he'd built up in his mind was completely wrong and they're really no different from inkfish in the ways he'd decided mattered (and decided were crimes worthy of mass execution), and suddenly being flooded with memes all at the same time absolutely broke him and he went from "bring back the superior species" to "fuck all y'all I'm blowing up this whole fucking planet have fun in hell!"

The other thing is that I'm having Western Spaghetti and the initial Side Order runs before they clear the first Palette and escape happen at the same time. If only so Andi, Crabcake, Deep Cut and the Squid Sisters can go "are we seriously the only ones who weren't trapped in simulations this month?"

Do you think mobians in the sonic universe have like. Meme formats of Sonic and Co. Like. There's some random picture of Knuckles yelling at sonic while Sonic has a shit eating grin thats made multiple rounds around the internet with various different captions. There's a picture of Tails pointing to a complex set of graphs while looking mildly concerned that's called the "according to my calculations," meme.

Because if there is Sonic collects them and sends the stupid ones to whoever is in the image. It's really funny until Tails does it back with a meme that says, "According to my calculations, Sonic, You get no bitches" (at which point it becomes hilarious)

OH, TALKING ON GEAR, I made a new outfit today that I had been planning on making for ages but had to find the right headpiece and FINALLY!! I didn't wanna get rid of my Tenacity even tho the outfit goes really well together I am not willing to turn Tenacity into Ink Resistance Up I had a long hard think on it waiting to find the perfect outfit and FINALLY I always end up looking in the Bomb Defense Up category bcuz there are WAY too many Bomb Defense Up clothes honestly for how much better the other abilities are such as Ink Saver (Main) and Ink Recovery Up and Ink Saver (Sub), they barely have like any clothes or outfits that go well together. Maybe I just need to look more into it honestly I've been messing around with Run Speed Up and Swim Speed Up mostly and haven't made any real "main gear" outfits for myself, well I did at the start of the game but that gear is pretty outdated now and I'd wanna improve the abilities on it if I wanted to keep the outfit

ANYWAY I finally made my 3 mains of Ink Resistance Up with all Run Speed Up subslots, those were some interesting Rainmaker games once I realised how effective that Ink Resistance Up was XP
