Since my granola cookies haven't arrived yet, I'm starting this week off with ricotta cookies. The Brittle Box anise cookies are the ones I went with for these.

These are soft and cakey, with the sprinkles adding some texture. The taste is sweet and has a specific flavor I can't quite place that reminds me of licorice. My guess is this is the anise. I'm not too big of a fan of this flavor, so these are just alright.

Thank you for the Ask! And good news: I recently finished the first draft of Chapter 10 of Compromise (Aemond’s POV of their last days in the Stepstones). I’m currently working on a draft of Chapter 11 (Luce’s POV the day the Targbros return to Westeros and visit Dragonstone). I will probably be able to revise and post Chapter 10 (currently 7k words) after I attend a convention this weekend.

That ice cream analogy was very fun, so I’m happy to do a girls’ version. :3

Jace is a scoop of homemade rose ice cream, presented in a nice crystal cup and garnished with petals and maybe even gold leaf. She is, after all, very concerned about appearances. And the presentation is so pretty that some people are afraid to touch/eat it, lest they ruin it. Rose—in addition to being her favorite flower—is, in my opinion, a not-too-sweet and delicate flavor that can be tricky to get just right. I specified homemade because it tends to melt faster than store-bought ice cream, and our poster girl for anxiety is often on the verge of a meltdown.

Luce is like cookies and cream, with a few sprinkles for appearance’s sake, though the main appeal is the actual ice cream. It’s a popular flavor, and most people have no objections to it at first glance. But then you take a bite and WHOOPS it turns out the sprinkles are secretly pop rocks. Surprise little explosion in your mouth, just like how Luce’s temper can go off. But some people are really into pop rocks, so some asshole stuck his finger into the ice cream container to try to deter other people from eating it. 👁️👄💎

For Joff, I googled “most controversial ice cream flavors” and went from there. I decided to go with tiger tail ice cream, which is orange ice cream with black licorice swirl. I have never had it before, but it’s described as an acquired taste. Joff is a bit of an acquired taste to the people around her, and the name “tiger tail” evokes a sense of fierceness that suits her. Also, because the flavor is so unpopular at this imaginary ice cream parlor, the one customer who really likes it has to custom order a batch and then he’s stuck eating that same gallon of ice cream for a year. Not that he’s complaining. 🦮

Note By the time this goes up, it will be Christmas my time! Just wanted to add a fun Top Gun twist to a Christmas classic! Written in Amelia's POV just because I love the idea of her being a bystander to all the Dagger shenanigans 😌 Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, Beside pictures of people who flew in the air.

Fast asleep in the cabin was the said naval squadron Of pilots and wizzos hailing from Top Gun.

The long hours before were properly spent Preparing for tomorrow's holiday fest.

Wreaths and streamers adorned the rooms, Shiny and colorful under the light of the moon.

Aromas, too, wafted from the kitchen nearby, Of turkey, potatoes, and various pies.

And gifts of all kinds were strewn under the tree, Paper bags and wrapped boxes—there were at least seventy!

Hours ticked by till the the sun slowly rose Accompanied by a light flurry of snow.

And one man from upstairs woke up with a kick; 'Twas the leader of the pack, Captain Maverick.

His footsteps thundered as he made his way down And woke up the others with whistles and shouts:

"Now, Iceman! Now, Fanboy! Now, Rooster and Payback! On, Phoenix! On, Bob! Coyote and Hangman! On your feet! Rise and shine! Get out of bed! There's no time to lose, We've a long day ahead!"

With sleep in their eyes, mouths wide as they yawned, The aviators awakened one by one.

All of them gathered in the great living room To prepare for the chaos that was about to ensue.

Next to come down were me and mom, Penny, With Ice’s Sarah and the younger Kazansky's.

Five other Daggers joined in on the mix: Omaha, Harvard, Yale, Halo, and Fritz.

Hondo and Cyclone came up from Miramar; Even Warlock and Hammer had sent their regards.

All donned in our sweaters with fun Christmas patterns, We exchanged presents amid laughter and chatter.

Some sneaky pilots crept into the kitchen To steal Sarah’s cookies, hot and fresh from the oven.

Coyote and Fritz sprinkled theirs with handfuls of sweets With every shade of red, white, and green!

Had we not taken their plate away, They probably would have eaten the whole cookie buffet.

Halo and Phoenix, on the other hand, were proud Of their elaborately decorated gingerbread house.

Decked out in chocolate, candy canes, and licorice sticks All held together with marshmallow icing.

Fanboy and Bob…let’s just say tried their best, Judging from their candy pile of a mess.

Meanwhile outside, the kids took turns being dragged Around in their sleds by Omaha and Hangman.

And as always, the competitive Harvard and Yale Built forts that outdid each other’s in scale.

Payback split everyone in teams of young versus old. “Careful what you wish for!” Maverick taunted, shouting out in the cold.

And just like the battles they encountered in flight, Powdered spheres whizzed through the air in a snowball dogfight!

Even Cyclone and Ice played from their seats, Keeping Hondo company as he “refereed.”

In the end, the outnumbered youngsters lost 6-10 So then began the contest on who could build the best snowman.

Rooster won by a mile; it wasn’t hard to choose His baby Snow Bradley next to Snow Carol and Snow Goose.

The sky had turned dark when the group came back in Just in time for dinner to begin!

The table was set with garlands and candles Amid placemats and napkins with festive flannels.

A picture-perfect meal! It was truly a scene Straight out of a movie or a bedtime dream.

There was enough food to feed a whole army— Well, navy—but you know what I mean.

We all found ourselves gathered ‘round the fire, Mom’s special eggnog and cocoa in the mugs of each flier.

By the warmth of the flames, each one fell asleep To Sinatra’s ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas (If Only In My Dreams).’

The first man up, and the last man down, Maverick took one last look around.

All around were his people—his family and friends Who he spent this glorious day with 'til its glorious end.

He put out the fire, and turned off the music Creeping 'round the house as quiet as Saint Nick.

But I heard him whisper ‘fore he left my sight, “Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

⚫: DE would learn about regression helps to red velvet pet regression. At first she didnt really get it before she didnt find out Pommy was doing so as well. 🔴: After Pommy's explanantion as to the concept DE felt nothing but sympathy, let alone to her right hand. So with the expectation that there could be more (and with much pride) DE desided to be there Care-Giver! ⚫: first few times was pretty new to her, not to mention it was her first time she did take care of littles. But even so, that dosent stop her from trying. 🔴: with time she has learned which regress and which dont (depending on your or anyones headcanons anon). And for the ones that do, she would always memorise which little has which needs.

⚫: for example, Pommy always likes to be held by DE. So while DE Spectators on earthbread for any changes (or what the gingerbrave crew are up to) she would hold Pommy close to her. 🔴: keep in mind DE would also het Pommy brush her hair, she dosent really know why but Pommy seems to be adamant on doing so.

⚫: for Licorice praises are a must, so DE would have Licorice do some small and easy tasks so he can be praised after doing them. the face of Licorice after getting praised gets her everytime. 🔴: He mite also show some cool magic tricks with Poison Mushroom, so DE would be considerd a #1 fan of these magic tricks. ⚫: Red Velvet is known to both age regress and pet regress, so for DE to know in which space he is in, She gave him a collar for pet regresson and a neck scarf for age regresson. if he is in his normal space, she instruct to wear non. 🔴: its rather known that Red Velvet sometimes likes to play Tug of war when being in his pet regresson space (a dog space ofc), so when no one is here to do it with him DE offers to be his play mate. ⚫: for Affogato its always recommanded to give him some sweet treats every ones in a while, but not to much!

🔴: He's aso known to be rather imaginative when it comes to his little space, so DE would often see Affogato play dress up.... just make sure he dosent touch any of her make up

⚫: Earl Grey is known to help her with so many littles in her care, so not only did she gain an apprechiantion of his help but also of him taking care of the choco twins while doing so. it... really must be some full hands. 🔴: Choco werehound brute and Bat Cat are also known to reach a hand, but DE instructed that the 2 keep watch manly on Licorice and red Velvet while Esterházy mainly watches over Pommy and Affogato

⚫: As on now, she started doing this after Drak Choco got out of being in the DoC, but... she does wonder if he would have been a regressor if he still was here. 🔴: She also dose not know for Lobster Cookie, as she would only see him when spectating the whole earthbread. ⚫: To this day, she still wonderd what she missed when it comes to Matcha... 🔴: But at the end of the day, she would always take pride in her littles being all satisfied and happy. To her its just more of a reason to rule earthbread. If she can take care of so many littles, she can sure take over the entire earthbread.

Some ideas for the fankids you needed flavours for: Crunchy Chip/Kumiho: Marshmallow Fudge, Crunchy Smores or Choco Marshmallow, Hollyberry/Pitaya: Red Flesh Pitaya, Financier/Pistachio: Baklava, Longan/Dark Enchantress: Black Rambutan Dragon, Blue Lily/Bellflower: Canterbury Bell, Starfruit/Mocha Ray: Some sort of starfish? Maybe could be based on a coffee made with fruit?, Licorice/Royal Margarine: Butterscotch or Licorice Toffee, Cinnamon/Shining Glitter: Cinnamon Sprinkle or Saffron

I kind of like Marshmallow Fudge, I’ll put that and the others on my list

I feel like Red Flesh Pitaya might be too long, and also a bit too similar to Pitaya

I like Baklava, I think that could work. Also I looked at my notes and saw Florentine was one I’d put down, but that’s also a place so Baklava might be better

Black Rambutan Dragon or Black Rambutan Cookie sound cool, but if Dragon’s added on it’d be a bit too long

I like Canterbury Bell, on the list

Yeah I don’t really have many ideas for Starfruit/Mocha, other than maybe a brown/orange color scheme

I like both Butterscotch and Licorice Toffee, we’ll just have to see which fits better with whatever color scheme I come up with

I’ll see whether I like Cinnamon Sprinkle or Saffron more, but if I go with Saffron I might add something on before it, since I feel it might be a little short

But yeah overall, some pretty good suggestions, thanks for the help!
