While Dean's also writing his latest bestseller on a deadline, a misunderstanding and his own social ineptitude leave him completely cut off, aside from his new pen pal who Dean only knows as Bluebird. Cas had spent the last two years desperate to hold Dean’s attention. Right when he felt they might be getting somewhere, Dean was called away on an emergency. Of course he had to go and lament about his troubles to a random tree, thanks to a distracting plaque inviting the public to participate in a new town project. To his surprise, he seems to hit it off— completely anonymously of course— with Western Red Cedar #2409. Through a ridiculous series of coincidences, it could be the best thing that ever happened to either of them.

The fluffy pining in this one is enough to form its own forest. Park ranger and secret writer Dean and socially inept librarian Cas really shine in this two person love triangle.

They are both so earnest in person and in writing and it's clear early and often that they will be so good together if they just get out of their own way. It was miscommunication with a touch of longing in person combined with a sweet vulnerability when they corresponded that had me wanting to lock them in a room until they figured it out.

This is the perfect comfort fic for when you need some soft pining with a soft landing.

Held my spring celebration, or Vårblót, the other day. It was the first time in a while I've had the energy to really put towards the gods. I spent the day hiking through the woods, spring cleaning the garage, baking cookies, and ended with the first bonfire of the year. I used this day to celebrate the Vanir and the landvættir. The landvættir had a strong presence today, and seemed to enjoy the festivities. I'm hoping to start feeling rejuvenated again so I can put more energy back into my craft

TUSKS 1:1 -- SPRING CELEBRATION 2023

 a collaborative project by Bart Van Dijck and Stan D’Haene revolving around an annual participatory performance of a spring equinox ritual. The collaboration started in 2018, by invitation of Koi Persyn, within the context of a match-making curatorial concept at KASK in Ghent. Prior to this project, the artists already shared interests in folklore, gardening, and rituals. On the occasion of the 2023 ritual, at Komplot in Anderlecht, they are joined by Evelien Alexiou and Marjolijn Callewaert. Together, the artists prepare and perform remedies against symptoms of winter, based on folklore medicine. Foot baths, herbal preparations and medicinal tea are served to the participants. They cut off each other’s winter clothes, with sickles crafted after the tusks of the boar, and imitate boar screams to awake our inner beast. The method of the spring ritual is developed with aim to create intimate contexts for a diverse audience to experience a meaningful gathering and transition from winter into spring together. Each year the ritual is performed on a different location, and it is every time reconsidered for and influenced by the site.

Just like every summer, Dean and Sam are tracking tornadoes. Surprisingly, it's the nerdy computer scientist that sweeps Dean off his feet.

Every June, Dean and Sam make good on an old tradition and an easy way to make money, for them anyway—storm chasing across the plains, capturing footage other chasers wouldn’t dare dream of, at the risk of their own safety. But Sam is graduating college soon with his girlfriend Jess, and Dean knows that one day, they won’t get this chance again.

But in a twist of fate, the two of them encounter an old rival, Crowley, in a bar in Tulsa. And, incidentally, a data analyst from the Storm Prediction Center named Cas Novak, dressed like he’s completely out of his element in a bar full of tornado tourists, but wherever Dean turns in town, Castiel is there—and, Castiel comes to his rescue as well, right when the world figuratively and literally crashes down around him.

Growing up, I wanted to become either a storm chaser or a meteorologist, neither of which came to fruition. This fic, though, has always reignited a spark for me, and the author shows off every bit of research they did just to make it feel true-to-life. It also calls back to the original canon with plenty of lines, and a climactic scene that changes both of their lives in any story, in a barn, albeit this time with potentially more hazardous consequences.

The writing draws you in from the first scene and takes you through a few days in the life of a storm chaser, on the backroads of Oklahoma, hunting down one of nature’s deadliest forces—and as well, Dean meeting the love of his life by pure happenstance, with the two embarking on a new life together as the credits roll. It’s a fic I’ve come back to time and time again, and definitely one that stands out as unique!

This past weekend I was lucky enough to meet Hikazio (Touchstarved's business dev<3)

She told me that the developers share fanart in their discord server, and seeing all the love and affection that fans have for the game helps to motivate them and give them energy 💕it's really amazing to think that they've possibly seen so many of the beautiful fanart pieces that I've seen myself!
