Castiel was already in bed when Dean trudged up the stairs to join him. He’d locked the house down, careful to check the windows and doors over and over because they’d had them all open earlier that day to air out the scent of paint, and it was a hard instinct to ignore to make sure his home and mate were safe.

There he was, all gorgeous, splayed tan length of him. Dean’s chest got tight and his eyes prickled, gold bleeding through. Their bedroom was a small and intimate thing, only a bed and a single wardrobe for their clothes in the room.

The wardrobe had a mirror down the middle and Dean refused to look, knowing he’d see the gold in his eyes. Not for the first time, he wished he was colorblind, so that he couldn’t see the wrong color staring back at him.

Okay but Cas going to rescue Dean (again) and when he arrives Dean's on his knees with his hands tied behind his back and the bad guy is behind him holding a knife to his throat and Dean winks at Cas and does his little "hiya Cas" with a smile and his cheek bone is bruised and his lip is split and the bad guy goes to attack Cas but Cas wins (obviously) and Cas has to deal with dreams of Dean tied up on his knees with swollen lips and Dean gets a little reckless on hunts bc Cas gave him a Damsel In Distress Complex

cas, Absolutely sure that nothing will come of it because he’s an angel, of course he doesn’t sweat, he doesn’t need to, he can regulate his vessel’s temperature just fine.

but then it’s overwhelming (in a good way), and cas can’t hold control over the vessel. he can’t regulate his temperature anymore, can’t keep his heartbeat steady, can’t keep his breathing in check. and after some time trying to pull himself together, dean tells him to Let Go, let yourself Feel.

and cas does, and he’s breathless, and he’s sweating, and he’s making noises that are driving dean wild. and he Feels.

“I don’t sweat under any circumstances.”

Oh baby, I bet Dean would LOVE to test that theory.

we were genuinely so cheated not to have Cas possess Dean. Hell! He could have possessed Sam and it still would have gotten the point across. Jensen would have put his whole jussy into the Cas/Dean hand off, and they could have had a whole convo before or after about how “it’s okay Cas, I trust you. You can have control.” And then references from then on to “when I was in you…” and with Sam? Don’t get me started. Dean being so fucking uncomfortable because Cas looks like his brother. Or the complete opposite where Dean so clearly just sees Cas and keeps having to be like “oh shit” when he gets too close and realizes it’s Sam’s body and it’s weird. So many possibilities and we got none of them 😭

Being with Castiel was as close to perfect as Dean knew he was going to get in his life right now.
