Elliot "Eli" Hale

Daughter of Hermes

Three Sentences about them: Eli is a fun-loving, sometimes way too unserious character. She's found basically everywhere around camp, talking to someone new or perhaps people who've caught her eye. Please keep a hand on your wallet at all times when in her vicinity (not that that would stop her)

Two interesting fun facts: Eli has a long scar twisting around her right leg from a monster she'd faced as a kid (she won't tell anyone exactly where it was from). She also grew up in Spain, but gets more fluent in English everyday

Second Mod's favorite thing about Eli is that she is from Spain! It's cool to have diversity in the camp, especially from different countries.

Fellow lighting nerds, show yourselves

The more time that passes since the reveal of the ‘moon cassandra’ design the less I like the look of the “suit”. In big action poses where the limbs are all out and visible it’s fine. Or when she’s standing still and her arms are at her sides.

But anytime any of her body parts overlap they mush together into a big black blob.  Especially on dark backgrounds, which was where Moonsandra spent most of her time. 

her body completely fades into the background which is ironic. because this was supposed to be her ‘standing out on her own’. Looking at the below stills it took me a moment to find her left arm in the shot. Or her legs in the second one. She spends a lot of time in stills looking like a floating head.

Everyone else has some level of contrast that helps them stand out but it seems like the only part about Cass’s design that was meant to stand out was her hair. Edmund even, who is also wearing all black armor, has purple lighting accents on it and wears a cloak in a different color to add variation. When he’s on a black background you can still see his shape. It seems like the problems with this arc go all so deep that even on a technical animation/design level they didn’t know what to do with her. The main villain of the show shouldn’t be blending into the backgrounds there should be something to make her POP

This isn’t me bashing the animators obviously. they animate what they’re given they don’t decide what the backgrounds look like or how the characters are designed. This is another one of those ‘this comes from the people at the top’ issues because this was one of many designs they could have gone with and this was what got approved.

Had a discussion about the fact there is a 2B in storage separate from the one you play as. On top of that we decided Operators would -have- to know to some extent what was going on with E units. Which lead to a discussion about 6O and her relationship with 2B + 2E. I also like the idea that 2E is very much aware of the fact she's an imposter acting out someone else's role.

I love musicals that are aware that they're musicals but - I cannot overstate this enough - not the cynical "Oh my goddd everyone's singing isn't that weird" way but the way that shows a genuine love and appreciation for the style

Clover Finn

Child of Iris

Clover is a wild person. They use they/them pronouns, make dirty jokes despite being asexual, summon rainbows (that burn people sometimes), and make candles. They are a total theatre kid, and they became a werewolf after being bit by Fenrir (it was a quest, it’s a long story).

Two interesting fun facts:

They made the official Iris Cabin playlist and they always dye their hair different colors. It’s currently purple.

System loves that Clover is repping the Asexuals!!! The system is also Ace!! System also likes Clover's name. It's so sweet and fun, just like Clover!!!

The band stops playing and Frank keeps singing. When the song ends, Carl is STILL there - because he’s still right: even after this, Frank doesn’t get to end the show.

I was a performer for many a year, but in 2020 I broke my knee and it meant that I couldn't perform for ages, and then the theatres closing in 2020 meant more of not performing.

I retreated to the tech box. I am now a very good followspot operator (also set designer and backstage crew)

I just had an actor in this musical I'm teching for tell me that I don't know what it's like to be on my feet all day acting because I get to sit up in a tech box all day....

Unbelievable.

Sound of Freedom: Across the QAnon-Verse

Is the Sound of Freedom good? Can it help end child sex trafficking? Well, like that issue, it's complicated.

So, here it is: my post on Sound of Freedom, the movie that is storming the charts and doing decent enough business to get a lot of press, both positive and negative.
