Our new Necromancer just discovered that Glory is technically dead. She uhh, then proceeded to imply that she was going to "study" him later.
Evil scientist who does live vivisections + junk with death and the undead, just told the guy who's 1 (of 3) ghosts inhabiting this Changeling that she was going to figure out what made him tick, essentially. Horrifying.

Let’s play pickleball: Why this game is growing in popularity in Chennai
What is pickleball? It’s a question that K Mohit Kumar gets often. It’s a question he loves answering. Even as he skilfully chops the ball on a windy Saturday morning at the recently-held South India Pickleball Premier League at Hotfut SPR Sports in Perambur, Mohit answers questions from curious onlookers. He was introduced to the sport in 2019 through a family friend visiting from the US, where…

Heyo! Longtime fan of your blog.
I'm considering starting a blog to document my learning Tamil, you got any tips for learning a new script and / or maintaining vocab lists?
Hey! So good to see this ask! 😊 I look forward to your Tamil blog so much!!
Learning a new script:
In general, learning a new script is easy when you know what you're reading. When you don't know the content you're reading is when it gets difficult.
So for scripts, maximise reading things that you know, whether that's simple stories and poems, or ultra-basic vocab lists.
My personal favourite is to read proper nouns, which usually don't change from language-to-language (although they certainly can!). Wikipedia's list of countries for example, or a list of presidents/prime ministers, or your favourite sports team, is a great way to pick up a script fast, especially as you have the flag or portrait as a hint.
One example:
Tumblr media
With some careful observation, even I can guess some of these glyphs by dint of knowing what the countries are.
Maintaining vocab lists:
I don't personally like vocab lists for study myself, I mostly use them to show what words are like in a particular language on the blog.
So I don't have any specific tips there, but as a general bit of advice - the prettier and more aesthetic you make your vocab list, the greater the chances you'll come back to it, thereby strengthening your vocabulary. So make it pretty!

Once again, I really look forward to your Tamil blog, so ping me when you make it!

15 Questions for 15 (girl idk that many 😭) Mutuals
thanks @druidberries for tagging me!!!
Are you named after anyone?
i feel like this is the dumbest thing ever bc like technically I’m named after my mom, or at least inspired by it, but we have very different names I just have the tamil version and she has the hindi version. My name means sweet melody and hers means melody. The reason I think it’s funny is because when my parents were getting married my dad asked his old teacher to come to it and upon hearing my mom’s name the first thing he says is ‘Oh her name’s Hindi so you should name your daughter the Tamil version.’ and here I am 😭😭
When was the last time you cried?
I literally have no idea probably like two weeks ago though I always got some shit going on lmao
Do you have kids?
absolutely not I’m in high school 😭 I’m still kind of on the fence of if I want them but if I do decide to have them I want a twin boy and girl and then I’m done pjasdhad
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
life is better when you’re sarcastic
What sports do you play/have you played?
I’ve danced for like, ten-ish years but other than like, badminton (and literally who is bad at badminton) I hate doing sports mnskjdksj
What’s the first thing you notice about other people?
Appearence wise I notice their eyes first, I don’t know if it’s because I draw a lot or wtv but I love looking at people’s eyes I’ve never met anyone without beautiful eyes. Aside from that I notice if they’re like?? comfortable talking to me because I hate the feeling of someone not wanting to talk to me I’d rather just back off first aksdjlasdj
Eye colour?
It’s the most boring colour of brown like it’s not even a cool type of brown it’s just. Desaturated brown 🙄
Scary movies or happy endings?
Horror movies with happy endings 🔛🔝🤭🤭 I watched this korean horror movie and they switched the ending from good to bad in the last five minutes and I hated everything about that decision tbh I’m a hurt/comfort girly till the day i die
Any special talents?
I don’t knowwww I don’t pay attention that but I am incredibly skilled at losing everything I put down ngl
Where were you born?
Toronto!!
What are your hobbies?
the sims (obviously), drawing, writing, reading, I like knitting a normal amount, literally anything to do with biology, true crime, failing at playing horror games w/ my friends, andddd I think that’s it? I’ve been getting into blender recently tho!
Do you have any pets?
girl i WISH 😭 i’ve been asking my parents since literally before I can remember and their answer is always ‘we already have three dogs at home’ like bae it’s been over a decade pls get a new comeback 😒😒
How tall are you?
6 feet tall 🥱🥱
Fave subject in school?
i love Science when I actually understand it I’ve always been into it which is why I’m going into medicine after I graduate like women in STEM core is going so hard
Dream job?
UMMM I’ve always wanted to be in medicine(well, ever since I made the decision when I was 7) but I’ve kind of jumped in between a few paths. Like I wanted to be a midwife, then I wanted to be a neo-natal nurse (still debating this one tbh it’s mad interesting) and I also want to be an anesthesiologist bc it’s cool and they make bank but either way I have to take the same courses all the same so it’s fine
also don’t know if any of yall have done this so just ignore this if u have and spare me the shame 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️: @strangecowplant @crsentfairy @afrolotus @finnsim @sierraelil @simsyworld @shadezovgray @d4isy-nukes @buttertrait @izharza @helltrait @baersims @bnt0 @alt-simz @nooboosim

Optimal Seasons for Exploring Pondicherry Finding the Best Weather to Visit
Pondicherry, a charming coastal town on the southeastern coast of India, boasts a delightful blend of French colonial heritage, spiritual tranquility, and pristine beaches. Choosing the best time to visit Pondicherry can significantly enhance your experience of this unique destination.
Tumblr media
Ideal Weather: Winter is the peak tourist season in Pondicherry, characterized by cool and pleasant weather. The temperatures range from 15°C to 30°C, making it perfect for exploring the town's attractions and enjoying outdoor activities.
Activities: This season is ideal for sightseeing, exploring the French Quarter's architecture, indulging in water sports, and relaxing on the beaches without the discomfort of intense heat.
Warm Weather: Spring marks the onset of the summer season in Pondicherry. Temperatures gradually rise, ranging from 25°C to 35°C. While the weather is warm, it's still manageable for outdoor activities.
Festivals: During spring, you can immerse yourself in the vibrant festivities of Holi and Tamil New Year, experiencing the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Tumblr media
Monsoon Season: Pondicherry experiences heavy rainfall during the monsoon months. While the lush greenery and reduced crowds may appeal to some travelers, incessant rains and high humidity levels can limit outdoor activities.
Cultural Events: Despite the rains, Pondicherry hosts various cultural events and festivals during the monsoon season, offering a unique glimpse into the local traditions.
Tumblr media
Transitional Weather: September marks the transition from monsoon to the post-monsoon season. While there might still be occasional showers, the weather gradually becomes more pleasant, making it a good time to visit before the peak tourist season begins.
Less Crowded: With the tourist crowds thinning out after the monsoon, September offers a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere, allowing visitors to explore Pondicherry's attractions at their own pace.
the best time to visit Pondicherry is during the winter months (October to February) when the weather is cool and pleasant, making it conducive to outdoor activities and sightseeing. However, if you prefer fewer crowds and don't mind occasional showers, September can also be an excellent time to explore this captivating destination.

welcome!
this blog loves planet earth and the people in it.
some notes:
I generally try to identify places + groups
I try to make conscious decisions about tags that respect cultural identities, consider historical context and reject imperialism. I realize this is impossible and messy and doomed to be inconsistent. choices I've made include one Korea, one Ireland, and multiple tags for separatist states, i.e. Scotland, Catalan Countries.
I am currently unsure when or if it makes sense to tag the "bigger" nation in a post about an autonomous region, ex. China and Tibet, Faroe Islands and Denmark. I want to respect widespread independence movements, but also not become bloated with regional tags. Tibet deserves to be free of China but I have to laugh at modern Texas separatism.
Israel does not get a tag. Jewish diaspora, Free Palestine, genocide, USA, or anti imperialism are used.
I am not always sure when to use the indigenous peoples tag. if I am unsure I will probably leave it out.
except the history and prehistory tag, I currently am not tagging things that no longer exist, ex. Soviet Union, Roman Empire. I may instead tag with related tags, ex. Russia, Greece
Tags like EU, UK, Africa, Asia, Latin American, Polynesian, etc. are used in posts that refer to many places/groups collectively ex. Lunar New Year in Asia
I try to tag the country/group that an artist/writer/creator belongs to, ex. a post featuring Baldwin tagged with USA, literature, black diaspora
tags are ever-evolving!
country/place tags:
Africa, Albania, Angolia, Argentina, Armenia, Asia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bhutan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Canada, Catalan Countries, Central African Republic, Chad, Chile, China, Colombia, Congo, Cuba, Czechia, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Emirates, Estonia, Ethiopia, EU, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Greenland, Guatemala, Haiti, Hawai'i, Hungary, Iberia, Iceland, India, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Korea, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Maldives, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Mozambique, Namibia, New Zealand, Niger, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Norway, Pakistan, free Palestine, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, free Tibet, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, USA, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Wales, West Papau, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe
diaspora + ethnic group + cultural group tags:
Ainu, Apache, Bahá'í, Basque, Black diaspora, Chechen, Choctaw, Chulym, Dakota, Dharumbal, Dolgan, Galician, Gavião, Guarani-Kaiowá, Hui, Igbo, immigrants, Ingorot, Inuit, Ixil, Jewish diaspora, Karakalpak, Kashmir, Kazakh, Ket, Khakas, Lakota, Latin American, Lezgin, Mah Meri, Maka, Makonda, Mari, Mohegan, Ojibwe, Pataxo, Polynesian, Pueblo peoples, Purepecha, Q'eqchi', Rapa Nui, Rohingya, Romani, Rukai, Ryukyuan, Sakapultek, Samburu, Sámi, Selkup, Sioux, Tamil, Tatar, Tigray, Tlingit, Tokalau, Uyghur, Yazidi
