chennaiyin vs hyderabad- When You’re On That Field, You Should Have 11 Captains
Owen Coyle urges Chennaiyin FC to be more vocal before their home match against Hyderabad FC, saying, “When you’re on that field, you should have eleven captains.” Coyle described how awful a loss tastes and admitted that every team would go through a stretch of games that would prove difficult. But he encouraged his men to break out of their rut and make its supporters happy. Ahead of…

15 Mutuals 15 Questions!
Thank you so much to @bee-notes for tagging me!! I had a blast answering these questions!
No Pressure Taglist: @assorted-bean @mewsporridge @collector-of-fishes-souls @pinkhairandpronouns @astralunar @abiquail05 @villalunae @winterbear04 @aonogitsune @friendofthecrows @quails-and-whales @anxiousescapis @bird-bird-bird-bird @atombombtom @roachhman
Feel free to skip a few questions if you want!! No pressure at all, just a way to get to know y’all more :”)
Were you named after anyone?
No, I wasn’t! My first name was chosen by my mom and grandfather because they liked the way it sounded, and my middle name was chosen by my dad. Fun fact, my name translates to “Purity in Artistry”, which is a very rad and on-brand choice if I say so myself.
When was the last time you cried?
Hmm, probably day before yesterday? The past couple days have been sort of rough on me ngl
Do you have kids?
No, and I plan on keeping it that way. As much as I love kids and value them highly, I don’t think I’d be a very good parent for a variety of reasons.
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Yep. Mostly absurdist sarcasm. A lot of people have trouble understanding my sense of humour and tonal shifts. I like to be as weird as possible but I always underline it all with a stark deadpan tone.
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Hm, probably their hair? It’s always so interesting to see how someone’s natural hair and sense of style is reflective of their personality.
What’s your eye color?
Their chicory coloured orbs stared into my soul, speckled with streaks of g-
Nah, I’m kidding. They’re dark brown, so dark as to be mistaken for black. I’m rather proud of them.
Scary movies or happy endings?
I like bittersweetness. I like to be reminded that a story does not end, per se, due to its very nature as a story that can be re-experienced. All my favourite endings of all time deny the listeners/readers/watchers the catharsis of conclusion.
All that to say I don’t really mind any ending as long as it’s thematic, lol. Depends on what kind of story we’re talking about.
Any special talents?
Hmmmm not really anything special? I suppose my writing stands out as a skill, and so does my aptitude for public speaking. That’s about it. I’ve been meaning to learn more.
Where were you born?
I was born in a semi-metropolitan town in Tamil Nadu. It’s a really nice place, not very far off from my hometown.
What are your hobbies?
I like to read, write, sing sometimes? I used to play the guitar but I fell out of practice. Been meaning to pick it up again. Oh, and crochet! I recently learnt how to crochet and it’s been suuuuper fun.
Have any pets?
I’ve never been able to have a pet of my own because we kept moving very often, but my grandfather has a dog named Mothy! He’s a very hyperactive and exciteable boi. I love him a lot.
What sports do you play/have you played?
I used to play badminton back in school, and I was rather good at throwball too, but then I lost practice. I’m really out of shape and exercise due to a variety of reasons, lol. I’m gonna pick it back up when I go to college, hopefully.
How tall are you?
171 centimetres! That would be uhh 5′7′‘?
I’m the tallest of my friend group which is something that I love to hold over them. Not like they can reach it anyway.
Favorite subject in school?
English! This comes as absolutely no surprise to anyone who has even a passing familiarity with me. I love to read and I love to write, and I love to interpret and re-interpret and see people try to comprehend new pieces of text! I like to consume media scientifically, by surgically analyzing it piece by piece. I owe a lot of that to the hours I spent arguing with my teachers (and later my friends) about media interpretations.
Dream job?
I’ve always wanted to be able to work in film, in writing scripts and maybe even directing? I’ve been meaning to start off small, maybe do a few youtube videos here and there. I’m in the process of writing a few video essays actually! Who knows, maybe now that I’m in college I can finally make it work out...?

[ad_1] Karun Nair for Vidarbha vs Kerala in the Ranji Trophy final (PC: BCCI Domestic) If this game is about cashing in on opportunities when they come only once in a while, Kerala kept losing those, while Vidarbha took a firm grip on the Ranji Trophy final. On the fourth and penultimate day at VCA Stadium in Nagpur, the home team added 249 runs to their first-innings lead of 37 to stretch the tally to 286 with six wickets still in hand. Karun Nair and Danish Malwar shared another big stand to help Vidarbha stretch their lead and take the summit clash away from Kerala. That process began when Kerala had a golden chance to get back in the game. Nair and Malwar had lifted Vidarbha from seven for two and taken the total to 55, when Eden Apple Tom forced an outside edge off Nair’s bat. The simple chance was put down by Akshay Chandran at first slip. The pair remained non-separated for 40 more overs and added 182 for the third wicket. The seasoned player and the youngster in his debut season had shared a stand of 215 in the first innings. Chandran and Kerala’s captain Sachin Baby had dropped catches at crucial stages in the semi-final against Gujarat also, but managed to wrest a two-run lead. They have been sloppy in this game too, losing wickets in a cluster and not using the spinners together in the second innings. Two of their three fast bowlers received last warnings for running on to the pitch. Add Baby’s suicidal dismissal for 98 and a lot of things that could have gone wrong for Kerala went wrong. Little went wrong for Nair and Malewar in this game, in this season rather. Nair, who made 328 for Karnataka in the 2014-15 Ranji final against Tamil Nadu, was run out for 86 in the first innings in this one. He brought up his fourth century of the season (unbeaten on 132) and third in the last four games. The 33-year-old with a Test triple century to his credit had also made five centuries in the Vijay Hazare one-dayers. Having won the Ranji title twice with Karnataka, Nair is well set for another with his adopted state. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Vidarbha vs Kerala in the Ranji Trophy final (PC: BCCI Domestic) Kerala looked short of ideas. For a long time in the first session and a reasonable period after lunch, they didn’t deploy together the off-spin of Jalaj Saxena and the left-arm orthodox variety of Aditya Sarwate. The in-form spinners were expected to be the trump cards on a fourth-day pitch with roughs on both ends. But Baby persisted with the quicker bowlers from around the wicket until N Basil and MD Nidheesh ran on to the danger area on the pitch a bit too often. Malewar fell for 73 after making 153 in the first innings. A tally of 783 in 15 innings with two centuries and six fifties was astonishing work from the 21-year-old in his debut season. Yash Rathod had a quiet final but scored the eight runs needed to become the highest-scorer of the season. The left-hander finished with 960 runs. A day earlier, left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey had set a record for the most wickets — 69 — in a Ranji season. Landmarks, individual and collective, are in the bag. Vidarbha are on their way to winning India’s biggest first-class title for the third time in seven years. Brief scores: Vidarbha 379 & 249/4 (Karun Nair 132 batting, Danish Malewar 73) vs Kerala 342. Kohli lasts 15 balls on Ranji return; Saurashtra eye bonus-point win
The last round of league matches in Ranji Trophy 2024-25 is up and running. Here are the highlights from the second day.
Kohli's short stay
He made six deliveries out of a total of fifteen. After being hit late by a big delivery and then missing a length ball that he poked, Virat Kohli was beaten outside off twice.
In the subsequent over, he produced a lovely straight drive, but Himanshu Sangwan, who works as a Railways ticket collector at New Delhi Railway Station during the off-season, sent his off stump cartwheeling, dismissing him off the very next delivery. With a brilliant nip-backer who slipped through Kohli's large bat-to-pad gap, Sangwan quickly rose to fame.
Ayush Badoni's excellent knock was missed by a boisterous crowd of about 15,000 people who immediately headed for the exit. With three first-inning wickets left, Delhi had a 93-run advantage over Railways thanks to the captain's 77-ball 99.
Pujara 99, Saurashtra on course
The timing could not be more ideal for Saurashtra. Last week, they defeated Delhi in three days, with Ravindra Jadeja taking 12 wickets. They needed two straight games with bonus points, both played at home in Rajkot on turners.
They did not require Ravindra's bowling this week because Assam was forced to follow-on and the other Jadeja, Dharmendrasinh, took four wickets. A strong batting display in the first innings put Saurashtra in a position to impose the follow-on.
Cheteshwar Pujara, who had added four to his overnight total and went dismissed for 99 early on day two, set up their 474. Riyan Parag was Assam's sole obstacle, scoring 51 runs on his comeback to the top division of cricket after suffering a shoulder ailment.
Kuldeep made to toil
Kuldeep Yadav returned to competitive cricket three months after undergoing surgery for a sports hernia. He claimed three wickets in 31 overs, but Uttar Pradesh was sent on a leather hunt. Harsh Gawli and Shubham Sharma contributed double tons to Madhya Pradesh's fictitious 670 for 7 declaration. This game is not very important from a qualification perspective because both teams are eliminated from the knockout stage.
Rahane 96 in mammoth Mumbai total
Mumbai took a 585-run lead over Meghalaya, but Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed for 96, ending his hopes of turning his first-class fifty this Ranji season into a century.
At stumps, Meghalaya was 27 for 2, giving Mumbai a chance to reach 29 points and guarantee a spot in the quarterfinals by gaining seven whole points. They needed a favor from Jammu & Kashmir going into the last round, and they have aided them by giving them a lead in the first innings against Baroda and creating the chance for an outright victory.
Jalaj continues to shine
The Kerala all-rounder Jalaj Saxena achieved the milestone of 6000 first-class runs and 400 wickets earlier this season. He scored five runs in each of the final round of matches on Friday, helping Kerala defeat Bihar by an innings and guarantee a spot in the quarterfinals.
Jalaj reached the seventh-highest number of wickets in the competition with 421. He had taken ten or more wickets in a first-class match for the tenth time. In response to Kerala's 351 runs, which were fueled by 150 from Salman Nizar, Bihar made 64 and 118 runs in a total of 64.2 overs over the course of both innings.
TN stutter but knockouts chances burn bright Despite needing 97 and having just five wickets remaining against Jharkhand, there is a chance that Tamil Nadu might still advance to the knockout stages. This is because, in a game that they needed to win with a bonus point, Chandigarh, who had won three straight games in the first half, now gave up the lead to Chhattisgarh. Vijay Shankar, who is undefeated at 33, is the key to Tamil Nadu's chances of winning the chase.
