I whispered gentle loving prayers to the divine ears of Aphrodite and Hera and asked them to take care of those who are aching, who need their protection and grant them shelter and comfort in their arms, because it's not always easy to feel and care so much. 💗🫂💗

Sometimes Venus day (Friday) consists of an elaborate everything shower plus a full skincare routine, and sometimes it's just pulling yourself together enough to brush your teeth and wash your face. No matter the spoon level, Aphrodite is proud of you for doing your best.

Goddess Aphrodite, lady so beloved of mine, I pray I ever be in your favor. Sweet smiling goddess who carried the scent of roses and spring rain, with unbound hair you race across the shore, your gentle laugh filling the air like the songs of birds. Khaîre, oh beloved mother, khaîre!
I decided to dedicate today to Lady Aphrodite. I stayed home, did some cleaning, set up some protective wards, made some rose hibiscus tea, and just finished making a fresh lunch! I put on some comfy clothes with my leg braces, and I think it’s safe to say I’ll be lounging the rest of the day lol. My pain feels a lot better as well, which I’m always happy about. I felt as if I couldn’t stand this morning 😬
I love you, Mother Aphrodite! Thank you!
Below: Beautiful Venice, Queen of the Sea by Edmond-François Aman-Jean (I actually misread it as Venus instead of Venice, so now I associate this piece with Aphrodite lol. I mean, look at it? The sword, the rose, the woman, the sea? It reeks of her 🩷)

Today, I spent the day in nature and it was wonderful, despite my sunburned forehead.
I really dislike the town I live in (it's very conservative and just generally awful) but, it is beautiful scenically. We have beautiful beaches and walking paths, etc.
There has been a lot going on for me recently. I lost my best friend due to realising he wasn't the person I thought he was, and I've very much gone through the stages of grief; last night I reached acceptance.
I really needed to be in nature and surround myself with everything beautiful Mother Gaia blessed us with. I was surrounded by so much yarrow from Mama Hestia, and I made friends with a raven (I also had to break up a fight between three of them because they were being ridiculous). I sat up there and the wind blew around me and I cried. I felt at peace for the first time in so long.
After my jaunt to hill, I decided I wanted to go to beach that was nearby. I decided it would be really sensible to walk through the woods, which is normally fine, but forgot it would be muddy today. I fell a total of two times, and then a third when I got to the beach and jumped off the wall onto the pier; my legs gave way lol.
There are a couple of waterfalls down there, hidden away, that always makes me feel closer to Mother Gaia and I try and visit whenever I'm there. The noise was thunderous today when I stood there, watching water cascade down the cliff. It was beautiful.

After that, I went to sit down at the actual beach for a while and did some pretty stone looking. Not everything in the photos below is from today but, I wanted to show everything off.

I found so much peace and closure and relief today. Sometimes you really do just need to reconnect with nature.
Thank you, blessed Mother, for everything you've given us <3

Reminders
I want everyone to know that you do not have to talk to your deities everyday, you do not have to give offerings everyday. I know it is such a common thing to say but you are allowed to have low motivation, you are allowed to just simply light their incense or sit at their altars, you're allowed to have your offering be your tears. You are allowed and okay to take a break because of mental health or your disabilities, or simply just because.

Oooh, I like these!
Low Energy Devotional Activities and Ways to Connect with the Gods
Let's be honest, religion and consistent practice can be HARD, especially when you're chronically ill, disabled, mentally ill or neurodivergent. This is a list of lower energy practices you can do to connect with your Gods when you're having a rough day.
Pray. You don't have to say the prayer. You don't have to do the full cleansing and offering. Just think about the prayer. It could be as simple as "'Deity Name', thank you. I'm thinking of you and appreciate you."
Dedicate any self care you do to the Gods. You've got to take meds? awesome. it's now a devotional activity.
If you can, light a tea light candle. You can think about who you're dedicating it to as you're lighting it.
Tell them about your day. Have a simple conversation with them (again, this can be in your head if needed).
Offer some water! Water is a great offering if you don’t have the energy to cook, collect or buy something.
Incense is also a great offering because you can light it then forget about it and your house won’t burn down (if you follow regular safety measures).
Resting. Your deities want you to be okay. Dedicating your rest to your deities is especially great if you feel guilty for allowing yourself time to heal.
Turn on a video of someone reading mythos!
Put on a deity playlist. There are plenty of pre-made ones on Spotify.
Veil or bind your hair! Whenever I’m low energy I’ll throw my hair in a ponytail and bind it that way. It doesn’t have to be extravagant.
Make a Pinterest board for them!
Post on a digital altar! There are plenty of discord servers that have digital altars and temples. You could also make a devotional Tumblr blog.
Change your phone lock/home screen to something that reminds you of your Deity.
I hope this is helpful to anyone who needs it! Take care of yourself first and foremost. If you don't think you can manage something on this list then thats perfectly fine too! you're not a bad person for not being able to do something spiritual or religious. Ultimately, these things are not a necessity. Don't stress :)

Hail to Apollo Phoibos, he of the shining brow and well-carved cheeks; ever-young and ablaze with energy --
Hail to Apollo Akestôr, Apollo Paean, healer and hero, tamer of plagues and slayer of Python --
Hail to Apollo Lukeios, wolf-slayer, on this fine Lupercalia --
And, once more, hail to Apollo Proupsius, who guides oracles' hands and prophecies to be fair and true --
By your power, be it your pleasure, I dedicate this virtual altar and its contents to you.
I invite you to know me, coming and going as you please about my life and home (and I know this is but a formality, as your divine power and will mean that, as a human, I have no control over where you do and don't go). With your explicit consent, I wish to know you, in kind, so that the two of us can decide if we are well-matched as deity and new devotee.
Though I’m currently in bed with chronic pain, I offer you these words of mine, in lieu of the poetry I was going to write tonight. Glory to you, Apollo, radiant wit and avid creator, multi-talented God of so much more than the sun. Thank you for finding me in these trying times, and for gently-but-firmly pushing back against my doubts, meeting my self-deprecating skepticism with amused ripostes and disarming warmth.

Beltane Masterpost - Spoonie Witch Friendly

Beltane, also called Bealtaine or May Day is celebrated on May 1st in the Northern Hemisphere (November 1st in the Southern Hemisphere). However, some people choose to celebrate the exact halfway point between the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice.
Beltane is a Gaelic May Day festival. It is traditionally celebrated once the sun sets on April 30th in the Northern Hemisphere (October 31st in the Southern Hemisphere) and continues on until sunset on May 1st.
With Beltane we celebrate fire, fertility and the return of life after its long slumber. Beltane is associated with creativity, prosperity, hope, fertility, and sexuality.

Also, please note some stuff is UPG. A great book is Year of the Witch by Temperance Alden, which honours the celebrations and if you want to work more seasonally. It's not Wiccan-based and has plenty of resources for every witch.
Feel free to post how you celebrate in the comments or reblogs!

You forgot sex, various forms of which can definitely be a devotional act, and also sharing food or drink with a deity or entity. Other physical sacrifices are possibilities as well, such as giving them some oil or herbs or lighting and burning a candle for them, or a combination of all three (rolling the candle in oil and dressing with herbs, then burning).
Devotional Acts - What are they and what do I do?
Hello! If you've wandered into deity or spirit work sects of the magical community then you've probably encountered the phrase "devotional act" at some point.
To some folks, this may be obvious, but to plenty of us starting out we had no clue what "devotional acts" were or how to do them. Here's a quick guide to get you started!
What is a Devotional Act?
Thankfully it breaks down easily!!
Devotional: of or used in religious worship. Act: take action; do something; behave a certain way
So put this together and we get acts that you do as a way of worship! You can do these actions as offerings to whatever entity you're devoted to or even as a one-time offering to a being you don't usually work with.
This is often a way of thanking the being you're interacting with or is used to appeal to or petition an entity for their power or wisdom.
Examples of Devotional Acts
Now, the type of devotional act is going to vary based on who or what you're devoting said act. However, I've compiled this short and non-exhaustive list for you to check over and perhaps take inspiration from!
Pray
Sing
Dance
Work out/exercise
Create art
Recite poetry
Clean up and maintained areas relevant to or protected by the entity
Listen to music that reminds you of the being
Cook
Meditate
Spend time with them
This is a very simple and basic list, if you want to get more detailed ideas please look into the lore and mythology of the entities you work with or are trying to petition or talk to others who work with them. You can also simply ask the being yourself what they would like you to do!
Enjoying my work? Consider supporting me for as little as $1 on ko-fi!

I'd probably be three Characters:
1: a neutral-chaotic assassin
2: a neutral-lawful Banker-Stateswoman
3: a good-neutral hard-drinking hard-loving warrior woman
Why? Ermm...
I work with the Morrighan, Juno, and Freyja. 'Nuff said.
If there was a D&D character based on you, what class do you think they'd be, and why?
