Will Snake Choose Finny?
Note this post has spoilers for the current arc, especially ch 205.
The biggest question of this arc has been once Snake learns the truth about the circus troupe, which side will he pick?
The time for him to make that choice is approaching, and I have some thoughts.
After finally finding out the truth of the fate of the circus troupe in chapter 205, poor Snake is faced with a terrible choice: side with Doll and help get revenge against Ciel for killing his previous “family,” or stick with Ciel (and Finny), his new family—especially now that he knows Doll is effectively already dead.
I think Yana may have been hinting that Snake will pick Ciel and Finny. Why?
Tumblr media
Firstly, Snake makes it clear that he and the snakes consider Finny and the other servants his family, and speaks of them all being footmen, which to me implies just how much they’ve been accepted by Ciel and Sebastian.
But that’s not all. In this arc, we met a new snake—Jonathan.
Tumblr media
Jonathan is the one who found the hidden entrance to the underground lab, and what’s more important—he is a rattlesnake.
Why is this significant?
Rattlesnakes have hemotoxic venom. In other words, venom that breaks down red blood cells—it destroys blood.
We know that bizarre dolls have few weaknesses, especially the more advanced models, but ones like Doll and Real Ciel still require regular infusions of blood in order to continue to function.
While most snake venom would probably have no effect on a bizarre doll, hemotoxic venom could potentially destroy them (if they can, in fact “die” again), if not disable them until they can be given a new transfusion.
I think it’s unlikely that Yana would have introduced a new species of snake now after so many chapters for no reason.
It’s possible that they may end up using this to their advantage to give them a leg up in the fight against Undertaker. For instance, having Sieglinde develop a poison that has similar properties to the snake venom that they could coat their weapons with, to give them a more even chance.
But this isn’t the only reason I suspect that Snake will pick Ciel’s side.
All of Snake’s snakes are named after writers from the UK, and while we can’t say for sure who Jonathan is named after (as that’s a common enough name), it’s possible he’s intended to be named after Jonathan Swift.
He was an Irish writer and satirist, and one of his most well known pieces is a very biting essay called A Modest Proposal, in which he proposes to solve the problem of the Irish having too many mouths to feed by having them sell their babies to the rich as food. (It is a commentary on how the Irish were seen as less than human by the English; he wasn’t actually suggesting people do this.)
While we still don’t know exactly what or how Undertaker is using the orphans, or why he’s had them dissected into parts, the horror of using children as “food for the stars” isn’t too far from the world of Swift’s famous work.
Tumblr media
Considering how carefully Yana sets things up, I think it’s hard to ignore these details, though if she follows her past habits, we may be launching into flashbacks next month and may not know how this will resolve for several more months.

Summary of Tesilid’s regression rounds, with sources
Contains major, MAJOR, MAJOR spoilers for webtoon-onlys.
I recommended you read this only after the Mermaid Dungeon arc (chapter 156) or at least after Ailette talks to the Pope (webnovel chapter 140).
---
[Source chapter in square brackets]
Feel free to let me know if there's any mistakes or missing info! (Last updated: 7 Aug 2024) (In the process of updating with official TL's quotes)
Tesilid turned 20 shortly before the Holy Sword Dungeon [69].
Tesilid wakes up in the Sculptor’s Atelier with the Order of the Pillar of Light Knights of Worship each time, in the spring of his 20th year [205].
The time between each loop is “less than taking a night's sleep” [136].
Rounds 1-7: Died because of the Knights of Worship [84]
3x because of the commander Gadville’s stupid plans
1x because of vice commander Lecto making things difficult because of his inferiority complex
3x because of mistakes, betrayal and coerced sacrifices
Not clear if all of these deaths occurred in the Sculptor’s Atelier dungeon
//
Bandit Village / Harpy Queen Dungeon
Round 8:
Requested to be transferred to a different unit [84]
Gave in to the hostage threat and was killed by the bandits [84]
Readers called him "Tez the Tryhard" because of this lol [84]
Round 9: Trained to get strong & wiped out the bandits, but was lured by the village chief (bandit leader) into a trap and killed [84].
Attempted suicide for the first time [88]
Even in the present round, Tesilid still holds a grudge about this [88]
Round 10:
Killed the village chief. Summoned back to the Vatican, disciplined and demoted Disciplinary action taken against him on the grounds of fighting the bandits while ignoring the hostages [84]
Had his life saved by Leonard Rodeline (Ailette's dad) and his advanced healing potions [5]
//
Round ?? but before 16: Goes to Republic of Magic as a diplomatic envoy, gets captured by the princess (Audillet Marcellion) and subjected to vivisection (being cut up for experimental purposes while alive) [84]
Possibly the same round: Discovered a blood relative in the Magic Republic, but things went sour soon after. [84].
Round 14: Raises his aura and divine power; devotes his life to training. Discovers that his natural lifespan was longer than average [152]
Round 16: Killed by his little brother Prince Rigarez [84].
3rd Prince Ligares Rigarez holds a grudge against the Vatican because he believes they kidnapped his blood brother the 2nd Prince Reminick (Tesilid), so he killed Tesilid as the wielder of the Holy Sword [160]. Tesilid dies with a stab wound from his brother & in the wilderness while it was raining heavily [84].
Before his death, Tesilid had acted as an official escort for Princess Celesteed. This "earned him the scorn of both princes, forcing him through unimaginable hardship" [193].
Before Round 17: Visited the Mermaid Dungeon and found the gondola with the anti-capsizing buff [147]
Round 17: Killed by Reed in the Sculptor’s Atelier. Was physically dragged to Reed by the other knights of the Order of the Pillar of Light. Was unable to resist because of the shock [93].
Narration in OG novel calls this the first time where he felt disillusioned by his life because of how he just kept dying [84]
MAJOR SPOILERS
Current Tesilid describes his first Loop 17 differently: "he spent his lifetime wasting away, too emotionally exhausted from dealing with the fate of having to return despite the world's hostility" [156]
[SPOILERS FOR 215] 117 and 100 both spent their first Loop 17 searching the entire continent for Ailette after leaving the religious order
major spoilers end
Round 18: First time challenging for the right to open the Bible Catechism of Truth [120]
Asked “Why do I return?”; receives the answer “To save the world”.
Round 19: Asks the Bible of Truth, “How do I save the world?”. Until Round 89, all subsequent questions to the Catechism of Truth (to Ailette's knowledge) were about clearing dungeons [120] (Tesilid's question in Round 94 deviates from the OG!Novel)
//
Round 25: Queen Laviosa of the Vinchester Kingdom frames Tesilid so that she can personally flog him [193]
//
Round 40:
Becomes an aura master [191]
First loop where he meets Muriel Phylise [207]
//
Round 85: First time saving the world
Defeats all 3 demon kings, seals the Chaos and Evil. No more dungeons and demons can appear on the continent [136]
Cardinal-class divine power, aura master who has double-digit aura blades. [136]
Dies soon after the battle but is satisfied. [136]
The Church has a habit of killing him in various ways as soon as the world is saved. This includes being:
burned alive
hanged
pushed off a cliff
surrounded by knights who stab him
given poison that put him to sleep, then being given a grand state funeral and buried alive [137]
Round 86: Second time saving the world [136] and first round where he gets together with Muriel [154, 207].
Did not get life-threatening injuries in the final battle [136]
“Handed over his vitality for the Saint who had been in a tragic accident” [136].
OG!Tesilid fell in love with Muriel in this round [154] / first got together with her in this round [207]
Ailette calls this round the end of Tesilid’s puritanical life [154] and the point at which she would no longer be able to tease him for his lack of romantic experience [164].
Muriel was cursed by a demon [207]
" 'You entered the saintess' bedroom to share your life force with her because she was dying, then...you, uh, you stayed the night.' The original story mentioned that when morning came, the birds sang outside the window. Considering the genre, that left only one possible interpretation of what could have happened." [208]
Round 87: Third time saving the world.
Died in place of the Saint who was falsely accused because of some conflict [136] within the Vatican, for which Tesilid took the blame [207]
Tesilid was overprotective of Muriel in this round which meant she was safe from physical harm [207]
Round 88: Fourth time saving the world, now with minimal damage to allies. Visited the Saint seeking a quick way to die [136]
Saint frames Tesilid of being a cult leader. As he was about to be burnt at the stake, she smiled kindly at him and said, “This world needs you to die. I’m sorry, and thank you for your sacrifice, Sir Tesilid.” [136]
(Note that Ailette refers to Rounds 86-88 as the ones where Tesilid is "betrayed by a woman that he loved with all his heart. Three consecutive times. [...] He probably would've died for her many more times had he not realized the truth” [84]. But in Tesilid’s POV [136] as recounted above, he seems more ambivalent about the Saintess.)
Round 89: Asks the Bible of Truth, “How do I stop regressing?; is told, “You just need to save the world”. Destroys the Library, hacks Demon King Inferinos to pieces, and commits suicide [120; 136]
Round 90-92: Asks the Bible of Truth, “How do I stop regressing?”; is told, “You just need to save the world” [136]
Round 93: Saves the world, then asks the Bible of Truth, “How do I stop regressing?” as the dungeons started collapsing; is again told, “You just need to save the world”. Dies when the dungeon collapses. [136]
Round 94: Goes to the Bible of Truth again out of habit. Asks, “Where is Ailette Rodeline?” [136]
Saves the world just to have something to do, and because he was good at it. 5th time saving the world. [136]
Does not go to the Bible of Truth again until Round 99 [137]
Reed places Round 94 as the last timeline where he would have been willing to take Ailette’s hand [138]
Rounds 94-98: Saves the world just to have something to do, and because he was good at it [137]
Round 98: 10th time saving the world [137]
Took less than 5 years because he only thought about efficiency and did not spare a thought for human life.
Round 99: Walked into the final battleground with “Chaos and Evil” himself and talked to it.
Is called the “Clock Hand of the Strict Order and Goodwill”
Told to ask the Bible of Truth, “What is the truth?” [Ailette POV in Library arc, 120] or “Why does the world continue to get destroyed?” [Tesilid POV, 137].
Prayed until he died [137].
Round 100: Reed
Offers himself to “Chaos and Evil” and loses his holy power. Holy sword becomes corrupted. Is banished to the dimensional rift where time stops. Rips through the dimensional rift after less than a hundred years, compared to the estimated few hundred years. [137]
Finds a point in time before the loop starts and sees Ailette’s Descent of Divinity (current Reed only). Visits the Vatican which was full of people celebrating the lunar genesis (start of the new month, specifically February [77]). Burns everyone (including himself) to death. Gives sincere prayers for the regression to end. Week of regression starts as the world rewinds and Reed kills Tesilid again [79; 138]
“I can’t save the world or myself, so what am I supposed to do?” / “My salvation means death, so what about the salvation of this world?" / "What if annihilation is the only way to save this world?” / “That was it. That was the answer. I will disappear if the world I belong to disappears as well.” / “You have no idea how happy I was to discover this. I’ve always hated this world.” / "To think I could destroy the world I struggled so many times to save... It feels so... thrilling." [138]
Subdued by 6 humans [156] who became legendary heroes [138] including Cardinal Cartelyena [139]
Tesilid calls this round the "timeline that I felt I was the most human" [139] (fan TL of 139 & 156 calls it the last time he lived like a human)
It's implied that in the 2nd Loop 17, the Knights of the Temple wouldn't have shown up at the near Greenwall where Tesilette reunited with the other two because they wouldn't have been tracking down the Saint [91]
Effects of drinking water from the Fountain of Life:
Early stage: insomnia, nightmares, hallucinations, confusion, mental weakness [153]
Middle stage: Lack of emotions, loss of memory, loss of three major powers [153]
End stage: Soul disintegration (still treatable), then soul extinction [153]
“You can still live as long as you breathe, even if you're not holding yourself together. Also, memory loss could be useful in the long run because your most difficult moments will feel like they never happened." [154]
Childhood:
First Prince Hardale was the one responsible for Reminick and Rigarez' kidnapping [196: "(Rigarez) will come to his sense once I remind him who's responsible for the loss of his brother."; 199]
Tesilid never found out about his familial ties to the Vinchester royal family during his loops [205].

Of course and sure thing. Oh damn, that’s so horrible. I was actually kind of spoiled about the events as well, not in what happened exactly but that it did happen since at the time of the chapter’s release I was away on holiday with my mum’s side of the family and I usually don’t bother to block the tag since most spoilers are something I can scroll past and they’re usually not too big since I read it every week but yeah, I saw something referring to what happened in that chapter and gods that hurt so we both unfortunately had to deal with it being spoiled, though with you it’s obviously much worse. And yay. Looking forward to hearing all your thoughts on everything that happened if you want to share it all. Oh, there really aren’t many chapters of Persona 3. I see. I also hope you don’t have to stay late and I’m glad to hear that you have another day off tomorrow. I see. Can imagine that being quit annoying. You calling caffeine god is amazing. And wow. How long does it take you to get through a pot? If you don’t mind answering. I managed to write a few points about the things that stood out luckily so yay to that. Oh damn, he really does look like Lavi from D. Gray-Man. And I see. That’s nice to know. Sure thing. I finished the last season of Demon Slayer that’s out now so I’ll probably be getting to it soon. Yeah, which is really understandable since A:TLA is just such an amazing series in so many ways. Of course and glad to hear you adored Zuko and true to his redemption arc. And I can’t blame you for Sokka being your first initial favourite since I also really like him and like every time he tells one of his silly jokes, I laughed so he’s definitely someone fun to have around.
Yeah, the Demon Slayer manga is just 205 chapters long. And the fact that it’s so short and still tells such an amazing story is yet another reason as to why I love it so much. Yeah. Like the final arc consists of two mini-arcs, one of 47 chapters and the last one is 22 chapters long, so it would entirely be possible to split it up since the last arcs that they adapted were like 30 chapters long, but I actually do presume that they won’t since the first season of Demon Slayer put all of the mini arcs of the first main arc into the season. And I honestly don’t mind what they do since I’ll always be looking forward to whatever there is of it. So I presume we’ll probably just have a longish last season, but I’m up for anything, as long as it’s adapted well. Okay. Cool. And I did and I was just like constantly fangirling and at times I couldn’t tell whether it’s because I was enjoying the sound of his voice or because what his character, Genya, was doing because he’s just such a precious boy. Thank you for saying that. He actually has a small first appearance in the fifth episode of the first season and then he’s gone and doesn’t properly appear until The Swordsmith Village Arc.
Thank you. It’s wild since I usually don’t forget things entirely so it’s a whole new experience for me. But the fact that it happened so early does help it make sense. Yeah. Though later on, there is this arc in Fairy Tail called ‘Key of the Starry Heavens arc’ and it is entirely filler but it’s still really enjoyable to watch. Gods, that’s me with Lawless’s song. And I see. I’m not sure about the Beyblade that you watched, but the Metal Saga series does have the opening song translated like that as well. The fact that Iruma is very musical does sound very nice. Of course it’s adorable. And now I’m looking even more forward to seeing it but I’ll still wait until I’m done with everything else I have to do and watch.
Yeah, true. Like I think the movie does but from what I’ve heard / seen, the movie concentrates more on the characters themselves than the actual match which makes no sense because both are really important. And yeah, it definitely did. Like this match that was adapted is 34 chapters long and when the movie was first announced, people were talking about how it’d have to be a 5 hour long movie for all of that to be properly adapted. And the thing is, the saddest thing of all is that we’re not even sure we’ll be getting another season. There were two movies set to be released, so this one and another one that will come out who knows when, and the initial poster to advertise it was ‘Haikyū!! Final’ which just does not sound great so now me and other Haikyuu!! fans are hoping that the studio will use all the money they got from the ticket sales and other stuff to make a proper fifth season. Sure thing 💕 Hell yeah and Hinata has such an amazing moment at the beginning of the second season that people still referrer to to this day. I see. That makes sense. But yeah, none of the Haikyuu!! babies are one-note and that’s just another great thing about the series. And yes to all those things of you describing him.
Me too but it’s really difficult because she’s not very good at seeing the wrong in her ways. Like say if I were to tell her about it, she’d get so offended and she thinks she’s in the right for saying what she did. Yes, the fighting style really is. Like it is hinted at in the opening, but it’s nothing compared to seeing it in action and it’s just so cool 😭 And yes, be excited about him. I love the Shinazugawa brothers, what more can I say. Oooh. That sounds like such a  lovely flavour. And that makes perfect sense. I hope you and your friend had a wonderful time together. Oh and that does sound like a good idea since then it’s all nicely together.
C
I’m so sorry to hear you got spoiled on that as well! I can definitely get not blocking the tag – I just did it because I know that if I see a spoiler, I’m going to read it instead of scrolling past, just because I can’t resist that temptation, haha! It sucks though that you got spoiled like that on such a big reveal, because I can imagine how much impact it would have had for people who didn’t know it was coming! And you know, it’s funny, because I’m as caught up as my manga app had (up to Chapter 254), but I don’t really have a lot of thoughts on it. I feel like the story is an absolutely brilliant one, the author is an insanely gifted technical writer because his use of things like foreshadowing and visual storytelling is gorgeous. I feel like I have solid grasps on the characters enough to write them; I know quite a few people excited to have me write them, so I’m going to. Overall, I very much enjoy the story and am excited to see how the rest of the story plays out to it’s ending, which is very close obviously. The writer’s storytelling has been well-paced for the most part, there’s little unnecessary drag or tangents, I’m going to be surprised if the series is still going active in even December of this year. I figure by early fall, absolutely latest, it’s ending with it being weekly. However, I can’t say I’ve fallen in love with this one like I have some of the other fandoms. Comparing my love for say, Servamp, K Project, or KHR and my love for Jujutsu Kaisen – my love for Jujutsu Kaisen is the little, tiny plastic cup you get to take your medicine with and the love for those other series is the big bottle of medicine. Again, the creator is absolutely a gifted storyteller. I fully believe they’ve known a least a full half an arc to a full arc ahead of where the story was currently what was going to happen, and I have zero doubts whatsoever that they’ve had at least a couple ideas as to an ending since the beginning and have a full, clear view of how everything’s ending now. Their world is well-built and constructed, their power-sets well figured out. They’re a tight writer with great focus and there are parts of their writing and visual storytelling that I wish I was even 1/10th as good at as a writer. However, I always kind of feel like JJK is very much a case of the story driving the characters and not the characters driving the story. When it comes to the JJK characters, I very much do feel like they were all created because the creator needed a character to advance the story or to fill an essential role in the story and that when it came to creating them, their characters were built around what role they needed to play and what they needed to accomplish so they feel less to me like real, actual people like some characters from other media and more like…just characters. Don’t get me wrong here, because both types of storytelling and character creation are entirely valid and both can be exceptionally well-done. JJK is a prime example of story-driven media done exceptionally well, if not completely brilliantly (because let’s remember, at the bottom of story-driven media, we have things like Twilight, which is that type of storytelling done exceptionally poorly). But I feel like most people are drawn more to one type of story-telling process than the other and I’m just more overall compelled by character-driven storytelling so JJK is in that ‘technically brilliant, I really enjoy it, but can’t get obsessed with it like some others can’ field.
Anyway, now that I’ve probably infuriated or offended some of the JJK fans, onto the rest of the message, haha! There really aren’t that many chapters of any of the Persona manga that I’ve found, so I’m kind of hoping that they’re all just really sort manga and that I’m not reading incomplete ones! And thank you for the well-wishes for the day off. Unfortunately, I had impromptu plans sprung on me that day that ate up most of my day, which made me a little cranky, not going to lie. I’m doing all I can to keep with commission timelines though, even with Etsy and real life…might require some burning of the midnight oil, but I’m holding up and doing well 😊 Yeah, caffeine is the god I worship, haha, as someone who isn’t overly religious. I don’t usually go through a pot that quickly though. Most mornings, I make the standard 12-cup pot around 6:30 and keep it on warm until I finish it around noonish. That day though, gone in about three hours, give or take. It’s not even keeping me awake so much anymore, thanks to having such a high caffeine tolerance, it’s more to keep away the migraines and because I find coffee soothing and sometimes, all I need is a short break to make a cup of coffee, just move and have a moment away from the computer to get the next burst of inspiration for what to write next. I’m excited to read those then! And I’m glad I’m not the only one who saw the resemblance then, even if it’s been a dog’s age since I actually watched or read D. Gray-Man. I wonder if that series ever wrapped up…things for later Dee to look up, I think! Speaking of Demon Slayer though, I paused everything else I was watching because I got in the mood to watch that. So I’m done the first season and the Mugen Train movie. However, when I go to the next season, it’s a really short season that just looks like the movie? I need to figure out if Crunchyroll just screwed up and put the movie into episodes or if those Mugen Train episodes are actually episodes or not, so I need to Google that too. Just every time I sit down at the computer, I get to working on creating playlists and storyboards for all the commissions instead of googling that, haha. I’m really enjoying it so far, though I’m pissed at the movies ending, because I thought I finally found a character that would be my favourite and then it was like the anime decided to just be laugh and be like ‘ha, fuck you’ lmao. I’m excited to continue it, just need to clear that up first! And Avatar is just incredible. I hope everyone has at least given it a try, and if any of my readers haven’t, please go check it out. You won’t be disappointed you did, I promise 😊 Sokka was definitely my initial favourite because of the comic relief, though I remember really liking Toph after her introduction too!
It still amazes me that the author was able to tell a complete and full story of the magnitude that Demon Slayer seems to be setting it’s story up in that few of chapters. It must have been very well-paced and without any extras then! I wish I could find the manga to read, though I am very much enjoying the anime (and to answer before the question is asking, I am watching the dub because it makes it so much quicker to watch). Thank you for explaining that and it’s really neat that the final arc was divided like that! I wonder if they’ll do a season for the first mini-arc then and a final movie to end it all, because that might be interesting if they do. I really enjoyed the first movie, felt it moved along well and was mostly well done (my biggest complaint about Demon Slayer so far is that sometimes the CGI is super noticeable and visually jarring and fuck me, were those CGI train tentacles something else and entirely unpleasant visually in that movie). I haven’t got to see much more of Genya other than Selection, where obviously you weren’t seeing the best of him. In fact, he was pretty damn easy to hate in that episode but still interested me, so I’m looking forward to re-encountering him in The Swordsmith Village Arc.
No problem, of course 😊 And I feel like a lot of the Bleach filler arcs were very forgettable, so I wouldn’t worry any! I definitely haven’t seen that particular filler arc of Fairy Tail, or if I have, I forgot it entirely, but I will check it out when I do a Fairy Tail reread! Thanks for the heads up on that! You know, I hadn’t thought about that, but I’m pretty sure the Beyblade I watched had an English opening song too, come to think of it! It’s been a real long time since I watched it, though it’s in my rewatch list (along with Digimon Adventures and Yu-Gi-Oh!, like the child I am, haha!). Yay, I’m excited for when you eventually get around to it 😊 And that sounds like a movie that I would absolutely adore, since I do love me some character focus, but if that was the only adaption the match got and it was an important match, then it also should have been shown and focused on in its entirety as well, so I can get the frustration. And it definitely sounds like it was a very important match, to have stretched across that many chapters, so I am so sorry the movie was such a let down. It also sucks to hear there might not be another season! It doesn’t make sense for them to wrap everything up in just two movies! Especially since a movie can’t realistically cover more than 20 decent-length chapters without rushing! I’m excited to get to that Hinata moment then 😊 And yeah, I’m noticing that about the Haikyuu characters and am appreciating the characterization in it, especially compared to some other sports manga I’ve watched or read. I’m sorry to hear that. I know people like that and do know how hard they can be to deal with, so I wish you luck and peace! I am very excited, actually, to see all the Hashira’s fighting styles, now that I’ve met them and seen at least one of theirs (somewhat…the Hashira did really little fighting in comparison to the others but we won’t get into my feelings on that.) And thank you 😊 We had had a lovely time! I hope you’re doing amazing, my dear!

Mikey needs help (and therapy but like who doesn’t) pt.2
WARNING FOR MEGA BIG TOKYO MANJI REVENGERS SPOILERS!!!
So in Part 1 we established that Mikey honestly needed an entire part/arc just about saving him because of his dark impulses and huge serial killer potential >>> aka yeeting Kisaki and disbanding Toman was not enough because now we need to save him from himself.
So, Mikey is dark, but why does Takemichi need to go back just to save him? Well in the first place, part of who Takemichi is is someone who wants to save everyone, and Mikey isn’t just anyone, but actually someone very important to Takemichi. We see their friendship development with cute and wholesome moments, we see how devastated Takemichi is when he witnesses Mikey’s death even after Mikey nearly murders him (going so far as to have flashbacks, placing his importance to Takemichi right up there with Hinata), and my dude literally says he thinks of Mikey’s smile when he contemplates how happy he is getting married in the good future (i.e. he really can’t be happy unless Mikey is too). A lot of people found this annoying, but I was actually quite moved because this is just who Takemichi is, and because he saw that Mikey was Drowning and wanted to be saved even when I the reader didn’t
I’ll be honest, when Mikey tells Takemichi to let go of his hand and let him die when he tries to commit suicide by jumping off a building, I was like “let him have his peace Takemichi”. Clearly no matter what Mikey will always turn dark, and he himself knows this, so let him end it. And then Takemichi screams at Mikey to ask for help, and this happens:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I felt this scene like a slap to the face and a stab in the heart. I had accepted Mikey’s dark turn as inevitable just like Mikey had, which can be seen in the video he leaves Takemichi telling him not to try and save Mikey 12 years later in their future. This is important because this is after he hears about what he’s like in the future, so even before anything happens he’s already putting measures in place with the assumption he’ll turn dark.
And Mikey seems okay with that, doing things like separating himself from everyone else (we know that in the good future, no one has been in contact with Mikey for roughly a decade), and indeed he ends up in a different dangerous gang. He portrays this as his role and destiny to the point that he encourages the people around him to accept it too. Just like Draken, Mitsuya, and Chifuyu, I too kind of thought Takemichi would be better off leaving Mikey to do what he is ‘destined’ to, especially when Takemichi finally got the happiest ending after everything that happened.
But Mikey is not a bad person. Technically speaking, he hasn’t actually committed any of these atrocities, yet he goes as far as to prepare measures against falling to these dark impulses. The scene where he asks Takemichi to keep him in line is one big piece of evidence that he already knew about his dark impulses, but believed he could overcome them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once again, only after hearing of his various futures does he stop taking measures to help himself and start taking measures to save the people around him (i.e. through making that video to prevent Takemichi from coming after him, avoiding contact with all the people he cares about so they don’t get caught up in whatever he becomes, etc.).
And Takemichi is the only one who sees this, who recalls that scene. Really, all the pieces are there for us ourselves to understand Mikey, and really the chapters in the ‘good future’ leading up to the confrontation with Future Mikey set us up for the new arc, and show why it was always going to happen, right from the beginning.
So Mikey can be, and most importantly, unlike what we were all tricked into thinking, wants to be saved. The signs were all there from the beginning, so the recent developments aren’t random. If anything, the entire scene solidifies the fact that he wants to, and should be allowed to be saved, not only because his eyes are no longer ‘dead’ when he finally breaks down and asks for help, but also because he clearly wants to be helped so bad, he created a time leap connection with Takemichi, which we know from earlier no longer works with Naoto as he no longer has “an intense desire to change the future”.
Anyway I don’t think I said anything too groundbreaking, these are all facts the manga establishes itself. I just wanted to show the people upset why this arc is valid and kinda necessary. I mean, Mikey has always been such a crucial character, did you really think we were just going to leave him like that (•ˋ _ ˊ•)

Bodily Autonomy in Jujutsu Kaisen
spoilers for the whole manga up until chapter 205. content warnings for bodily autonomy issues, eugenics and similar stuff - i mean if you’ve read the manga up till chapter 205 you know what’s up.
I just want to say that this is my reading of juju and I don’t know if the things I’ll write about are included in the manga with the intention to be a theme. As much as it feels like that because of how much of it there is, I don’t have a direct line to Gege’s brain (alas, I’m in so much panic over what they plan for my beloved characters) so the fuck do I know what the author meant. There’s also the question of an incomplete work. I’m trying to string together a certain argument talking about a story that is in progress and the author may pull a “just kidding” a chapter from now and I’ll have to weep while washing the clown makeup off my face. The incompleteness comes with another caveat, a much less sinister one than Gege suddenly pulling a one eighty on the apparent politics of juju. When you write a story it kind of comes together on its own, you don’t always set out to write about something, it just kinda in hindsight turns out you did. In that case you may find out that you wanted to say something different than you did and you kinda try to retcon shit and do some weird moves storytelling wise and rhetorically … a multiyear serialised project like a manga series is just well a work in progress when the author grows and develops with it. Now I will confidently write about an unfinished work and its themes, I think as I’m fighting through my discomfort of doing just that. This paragraph was for me to brace myself.
Bodily autonomy is a human right of an individual to be able to fully self-determine what happens to their own body. A right that is consistently taken away from humans of all genders and ages in various ways, including through laws, traditions and family members. A lot of it is veiled in language of “the good of the individual” whose bodily autonomy is violated or the language of “greater societal or cultural good”. A lot of it is closely connected to tradition, patriarchy and eugenics, plus numerous other related or similar things. Considering how aggressively anti tradition and anti status quo Jujutsu Kaisen is, bodily autonomy as a theme fits in really well.
The “for your own good” arguments often have something to do with religion, or upholding some kind of purity, though they can be also shrouded in the language and concepts of intellectualism. In many cultures around the world the body is treated as something separate from what is considered to be the self, call it soul, essence, mind… whatever. This abstract idea of there being an extra thing to us is used to separate us from animals on a spiritual or intellectual or whatever level. Body exists as this shell to host the self, sometimes even a prison or something unclean. That’s why in many cultures there are practices of abstaining from things, putting the body through rigid purification rituals often based in deprivation. All these ascetics, hermits and intellectuals. All elevated through self-denial, self-control, rejection of the animalistic, lesser desires of the body. Because of the existence of a hierarchy like that the body is always in the losing position. It’s easy to talk people into supporting or excusing abuses of bodily autonomy.
In Jujutsu Kaisen the body/soul separation doesn’t really exist. Mahito explains that the body is just a shape that the soul takes, they are inextricably linked. That's why by being able to touch the soul Mahito can reshape the body. This already creates a world where interfering with the body is automatically interfering with the soul. Where, if you know this, it’s impossible to use the “for your own good” arguments when the body can’t be rhetorically separated from “you”, where it can’t be this separate thing that can be punished to make the soul better.
The Enlightened
Let’s start with Tengen, one because they aren’t a villain more like a creep and I personally don’t think they are meant to turn into a villain (watch me make a pikachu face a chapter or two from now, watch Gege force feed me this sentence back). But also because the issues they pose in the context of bodily autonomy are rooted in tradition and the status quo while with the villains their interference into other people’s bodies is very clear cut in its violating nature. This is why I think Tengen’s situation is text. First we have the whole story with Riko Amanai and then we get the conversation between Tengen and Yuki. Both Riko and Yuki are Star Plasma Vessels, humans with the special ability to merge with Tengen to uphold Tengen’s immortality but more importantly their humanity, preventing Tengen from turning into a cursed spirit and becoming no longer human. The merger takes away their individuality and while initially Riko seems fine with it, having grown up mentaly and emotionally prepared for this fate, after having that conviction questioned she realises that she doesn’t want to merge. Yuki chooses not to merge with Tengen either.
There is a whole system in place dedicated to cultivating vessels for Tengen. Tengen creates and upholds barriers that conceal the jujutsu world from the general society. They don’t even really protect the jujutsu sorcerers, as the sorcerers, unless they are in the leadership, are treated as expendable. Tengen’s case is the embodiment of the entitlement people in power feel towards the bodies of others, those they consider insignificant. It isn’t an accident that Tengen is referred to as an heremit, a recluse, someone not concerned with the matters of this world. That elevates them in Japanese society where traditionally rigid self-control and purity are held in high regard. (So the previous sentence is doing a lot of work. It’s technically true but it’s an awful oversimplification and may imply that in Japan the body is simply considered the part of the profane. For the sake of my sanity I will not go into it but I recommend finding some nice source - book, podcast, class - created by someone who knows their shit on the history of religion and philosophy in Japan and key philosophical and aesthetic concepts.) This semi enlightened status explains also why people worship Tengen. Or why they wanted to prevent Tengen from merging with a new body aka for Tengen to become even less human thus more divine.
Tengen’s case is an example of a societal norm that allows for or even elevates taking away someone’s bodily autonomy for some “greater good”. Tengen themself doesn’t feel malicious, maybe kind of selfish but in this horrifyingly passive way. Part of an indifferent system that has always been like that. A system that isn’t questioned unless people are personally faced with those who are victimised by it (Riko), or are victims of it like Yuki herself.
The Superior
Mahito is born of humans’ fear and hatred for one another. And humans know the truth, that despite some lofty ideals, some high minded concepts, the self is in a closed feedback loop with the body, that they aren’t truly separate. When the self starts to disassociate from the body it’s not normal actually, it usually is an effect of trauma or bad mental health. The mind can affect the condition of the body and vice versa the body influences the mind. That’s why when people hate one another, they inflict both kinds of violence, emotional and physical, usually at the same time by for instance beating and demeaning someone. But both of these actually feed into each other even if the abuser isn’t actively using one of them. Emotional violence causes physical reactions, physical violence leaves emotional scars.
In his power Mahito embodies this connection. Mahito forcefully modifies bodies of others and also controls their actions, the more powerful he gets the longer his victims remain conscious while trapped inside their bodies.
Mahito enjoys what he’s doing, it’s clear the power over others amuses him. In the beginning he is kind of a child in a sense, driven also by curiosity not only violence. A child because Mahito hasn’t existed for too long, hasn’t been conscious, lacks experience and isn’t fully aware of his powers. But from the very start he really lacks innocence. He isn’t curious about people or the world, he’s only curious about himself. He doesn’t treat Junpei as an individual who deserves respect, Junpei is a toy. Mahito uses Junpei’s loneliness and trauma to get close to him and like an abuser he is, he pulls out of Junpei all his vulnerabilities and uses them later to hurt Junpei. In his fight with Nanami in the sewer he shows that he knows that his victims suffer. He knows that Nanami is getting trauma from understanding the extent of Mahito’s powers. Same after the fight at the school when he says he wants Yuuji to die, how he plans to torment and traumatise Yuuji more.
The most upsetting thing about Mahito and the way of thinking he represents is that he could be helping others, using his powers to ease suffering. But Mahito despises others and doesn’t see them as individuals who deserve to have their rights respected. He’s like all of those who use medicine or psychology not to help others but to harm them, or control and manipulate them.
Mojito does it out of hatred, that’s what he’s born from and he’s open about it. But in real life the people who do those things try to hide their hate for others. Sometimes from themselves, even. Those who support forced medical procedures, forced body modification, refusal of care to certain types of people, they often reference lofty ideals or talk about the victimised people as deserving the abuse. Mahito also feels superior to his victims. He doesn’t express it as directly or as often as Jougou but it’s there: stupid kids, souls have no value, you’re just a human so don’t step out of line…
The Intellectual
Where do I even start with Kenny? There’s just so much.
Okay, so maybe Kenjaku’s body hopping. The mechanics of the body hopping haven’t been precisely explained but what we know is that it’s related to Kenny’s barrier abilities, that the forehead scar is a binding vow and that Kenny can use the abilities of the person that the body used to belong to. There’s even some subconscious transfer of the original personality onto Kenny though it’s miniscule most of the time. I presume the person needs to be dead before the transfer happens… but that’s based on Getou’s case only.
Death in the JJK world is an interesting thing because time and time again we see body parts that retain the soul and consciousness of the person after their death. So the question is how much of Kenny’s power is suppression of the original self? How much the original self is aware of what is being done to them? And I don’t trust Kenny’s opinion on that. One because Kenny isn’t trustworthy in general. Two, now we know that Tengen can’t hear the people they merged with so the same may be true with Kenny, that they just can’t hear the og self. Three Mahito seems completely fooled by fake Getou while at the same time Mahito knows that there are two souls in Yuuji - though he has never managed to touch Yuuji’s soul and that’s another several k of my maniacal ramblings waiting to happen. It kinda feels that like with Touji’s worm curse, as long as the brain is totally encased inside the body it becomes invisible. Of course this is pure speculation unless we learn more later. But either way, even if they are gone from their bodies it’s doubtful any of the people consented to their bodies being used in this way, nothing indicates any consent had been given. So the way in which Kenjaku sustains their longevity is a huge violation of other people’s autonomy. The way one’s body is treated after death is a huge deal, that’s why people need to consent to organ donations or having their bodies used for science. This also touches upon the fact that from Kenny’s pov the lives and bodies of “insignificants” are there just to serve the “betters” - like irl when people sell their body parts for money, or their body parts get stolen to be sold to the rich and powerful. Kenny doesn’t just grab a kidney because that’d be tedious to replace every part one by one, they go for the whole thing at once ;)
Let’s talk now about Kenny’s side hustle where they facilitate the body snatching for other entitled people. This refers to the sorcerers from the past, not the death painting wombs because those are a little different. So some of the reincarnated sorcerers may seem nice or cute or fun or even actually decent people but actually they are all fucking entitled pieces of shit when you think about the deal they’d made with Kenny. They decided it’s a good idea to reincarnate through the medium of a cursed object knowing full well that it meant taking over someone’s body and erasing or completely overwriting their soul (not sure how exactly that process works). They decided that their personal goals/desires/whatever are more important than the existence of some rando in the future. Honestly awful people, all of them, and yeah Uro’s story is sad but no one’s story is sad enough to excuse this kind of reincarnation. And Uro’s the only one with an actual sob story, the rest is just… And this also includes the Angel btw. Her not not erasing Hana part is like better than the others but it’s not like Hana’s life is unaffected by this. She loses control over her own life and her body is constantly reshaped by the parasitic entity within. Angel is entitled as the rest of them, deeming their goals to be of supreme importance.
Giving powers to people is leagues better than the body snatching but it also happens without consent, it’s forced onto those people. It also uproots their life. So like out of all awful behaviours of Kenny, this one is the least awful… still sux though.
Kenny acts as if they want to also sell people as energy sources to global superpowers… I’m not going to get into this one too much because it feels like a misdirection, an element of chaos they are trying to create to further their real goal. But honestly, even if they’re not really invested in it, the nature of this ploy is so on brand for them, especially considering how classist they are. Kenny: what can I do to make everything more confusing? I know, I can sell the people with cursed energy to be exploited, perfect! Then again maybe they will prove that they’re dedicated to this side project as well, I mean if their main experiment runs its course why not entertain themself with another one.
Now to the main event aka Kenjaku the eugenicist. So Kenny thinks it’s their right to experiment with human evolution on living unconsenting humans. That’s it… Like that’s their main stated goal rn in the manga, to force the evolution of millions through merging them with Tengen. I mean as mentioned above Tengen has their own issues but even they are very much against it. The merger itself would annihilate the autonomy of everyone involved, one consciousness within it could cause a domino effect on others causing an apocalyptic like event (if this sounds like Evangelion that’s because imo it’s 99% intentional, it’s Gege’s commentary on the ludicrousness of the human instrumentality project. And it’s not like it’s the first Eva reference, even. If you like to be creeped out by what you watch, Eva is for you plus the opening is a timeless classic). Kenny has dedicated hundreds of years to this, they’re nothing if not obsessive.
But before this or alongside this Kenny tried smaller scale evolution. They were very much into designer babies. So thinking that your babies are your possessions and are there to further your goals is a common occurrence in the Jujutsu world, it’s very normalised even in the present day of the story, the whole patriarchal mess that are the three major clans is all about that. This is also related to the instrumental treatment of women, the expectation for them to be wives and mothers, the use of concubines - all that patriarchal shit.
I’m really curious when Noritoshi Kamo (past one) became considered “the evilest jujutsu sorcerer in history and a stain on the Kamo Family”. When did his experimentation start? Was the original guy just a regular patriarchal prick like the rest of those clan dudes? Or was he doing the experiments too and then Kenny just took over and continued? But maybe it was all Kenny in the first place, maybe they wanted Noritoshi for his blood manipulation because it looked promising for their evolution plans. What Kenny does to the mother of the  death paintings is just way too real and reminiscent of real life experimentation on pregnant women. It really speaks to the patriarchal notion of women being vessels for reproduction.
What they do to the babies is as bad. I’m not sure why they aborted them, why they didn’t let them be carried to term. Maybe because her first baby died and Kenny wanted them to survive and turning them into cursed objects was the only way? Or maybe it was just about control, about using them when Kenny deemed useful. Either way Kenny considers them failures, because they didn’t turn out evolved enough, they didn’t surpass the limitations of Kenny’s own imagination.
Their next baby, that we know of, that next one Kenny is kinda fond of. In a super creepy Kenny way. In a way that doesn’t prevent Kenny from abusing the child both physically and emotionally but hey, at least they said like one nice thing to Yuuji. And they always make a point to mention that Yuuji is actually a person, a separate individual from Sukuna. Considering how many people don’t grant that much to Yuuji, that must count for something right? And Kenny actually gave birth to Yuuji, like properly and all, probably even courted Yuuji’s dad and tricked him into thinking they are a proper fam. I mean both of these facts practically grant Kenny the mother of the year award.
I wonder whether their attitude towards Yuuji isn’t tainted by pregnancy hormones and the leftovers from the original soul that inhabited that body. Or maybe it’s because Yuuji is actually not as disappointing as the previous ones. So maybe it’s about Kenny’s ingenuity, about an experiment going right for once.
Like the other children Yuuji gets violated before birth. His body is shaped to suit Kenjaku’s plans and that plan is to violate Yuuji again after birth by putting a homicidal parasite inside him. Because Yuuji is created explicitly to have someone else cohabit in his body. A+ shounen parenting through and through.
The Prisoner
Sukuna is a funny one in all this. He, of course, doesn’t care about other people’s bodily autonomy. He didn’t care in his past life, he doesn’t care now. Murder is his thing but what’s more relevant he eats people. It’s not clear if whole or in parts, neither is it clear whether they are dead or alive for it. Regardless, it’s unlikely that the consumption is consensual either way.
Once reincarnated, he distorts Yuuji’s body as much as he can (I will probably write about this one day, about how he can only distort it so much). He commits acts of extreme violence while taking over the body. He torments Yuuji by speaking to him and Yuuji can’t do anything to prevent him from doing that.
It’s not clear whether Sukuna made a pact with Kenny like the other past sorcerers did. Sukuna never talks to Kenny, never addresses the issue. But if he did make a pact he got scammed. If he didn’t, he got scammed too.
Kenny tells Mahito that Sukuna is different because he can choose his vessel. All other reincarnated beings, be it the sorcerers or the death paintings, take over what is given to them. They have no choice in that matter. But Sukuna apparently does and that means that Yuuji was an attractive enough vessel to reincarnate into. The thing is that if we take into account that Kenny made Yuuji and how Kenny talks about Yuuji, the boy was never meant to be overwritten, Sukuna was never meant to take over once put inside.
So here comes a little curve ball. Sukuna is obviously someone who has no regard for the bodily autonomy of others but in his current state his right to bodily autonomy is being violated too. And isn’t this just a fun little tidbit.

my thoughts on canon Tanjirou/Kanao (as in the ship)
(Disclaimer: Almost, if not all, of this is a scathing criticism of this ship. If you do not wish to see such or simply don’t want to see manga spoilers, press “J” on desktop of just scroll really fast to avoid it. Thanks!)
Ah, yes, one of our most favorite “she is a girl, he is a boy, can I make it more obvious” m/f couples in this series. Typical heteronormative side effects include making the female character’s development solely because the “man” spurred on her motivation to change while said man, in a romantic sense, could literally give less of a shit about her. And it sucks that until Infinity Fortress, Kanao is essentially reduced to the role of a typical cute, a little airheaded female love interest for our beloved main character and nothing else.
It is safe to say I Do Not Like this pairing.
I don’t know, maybe I’m just tired of seeing so many shounens fall into this cliche, but it is especially confusing when Tanjirou does not even meet the bare minimum requirements. He never shows any special attraction towards her. Doesn’t call her pretty, or cute, or literally anything. The closest you get is him looking at her in wonder in the Rehabilitation Training Arc and the coin tossing scene (ugh). He basically treats her like any other of his friends, which is not good if you want to write a blooming romance between two specific characters.
I will say, this has lead me to thinking Tanjirou is aroace. The way he expresses his attraction is that he doesn’t really express it at all, but I seriously doubt Gotouge wrote him this way on purpose considering the events of both the initial Chapter 205 and the reworked (fuller) ending for the manga (it also could be that they’re not good at writing slowburn romances, which is a valid point).
Not only does Tanjirou has strong aromantic coding, these two specifically have no reason to even interact. They don’t share many (or any) interests. They don’t inspire deep conversations. They don’t click. If we were to take the poorly-written romance out of this, they would literally only see each other as acquaintances, the friend of their friends. Their personalities and how they interact with people directly conflict with each other and would realistically leave them awkwardly sitting six feet apart not knowing what the hell to talk about if they were to ever have to wait for their other friends to show up to bridge the gap. And if they were to pursue a romantic relationship, it would be shallow, unfulfilling, an obligation for both of them to keep up rather than something they genuinely enjoy.
If Gotouge actually added something to make their dynamic work, maybe I would have liked it a little bit, but we’re given nothing. They haven’t convinced us that these two would ever be good friends, much less a couple. It’s just... so bad.
@gothyyy since you were curious

TR 268 Spoilers under the cut
I'm seeing some backlash about Shinichiro being a time leaper but the chapter just came out and we don't know the details yet so idk it's not what I personally wanted to happen but at this point I'm just eager to see what happens next, y'know?
Like I always thought that Hanma would be a time leaper to bring everything full-circle (it's off-putting to me how little attention Hinata and Kisaki have had in the final arc because they were so important for the whole story leading up to and during the Tenjiku arc). I figured that future Hanma was probably motivated to time leap by something related to Mikey and Kisaki, which is relevant to Takemichi and Hinata because of Toman targeting them in every timeline. I thought that whatever future happened with Hanma, Mikey, and Kisaki was part of "the story of the Pierrot and the Reaper" from chapter 205.
And yeah, maybe that's not the case and I was probably/definitely wrong, but I'm still excited to see what happens next with the Shinichiro plot twist. There's still the possibility of even a third time leaper (please, Hanma🙏) or maybe even something more interesting no one has guessed yet!
I'm a bit skeptical that the series might get lost in the Shinichiro plot twist (I've been reading the new chapters these days, thinking, "Remember when this show was about saving Hina with Naoto?") but we'll just have to see. Fingers crossed though that in the end it won't feel like the story went off course. I hope Hinata, Naoto, and Kisaki don't get lost/forgotten in the end of the series, especially Hinata because she has been so integral and motivational to the story up until the Final Arc and she deserves the focus!
Anyway, all that said, Ken Wakui, please tell me the story of the Pierrot and the Reaper already 😭 Let's stay optimistic ~~

WHEN SPARKS DON'T FLY
[SYNOPSIS] ˚⁀➷。 shuji still smokes five cigarettes a day. you’d think he’s the same careless yob, but his eyes may tell otherwise.
[NOTES] ˚⁀➷。 chapter 205 spoilers, ending’s rushed, mentions smoking
Tumblr media
your feelings for tetta kisaki were simple -  you hated him, and he hated you. your relationship had clear, established bonds and you made sure not to get into each other's ways. tetta kisaki was a man you loathed, hated with the strongest power your body could withhold.
"I'll be damned if i meet him, even in the afterlife," you tell him and watch his smile shine brighter than ever, sharp features contorting as he pulls out his fifth cigarette. it's always the fifth.
"he's a cool guy tho, different from these cowards, just think it through! go and have a drink with him sometime, you'll get along!" he smilingly reassures (and pops the lid to his lighter open, a dim spark setting the tobacco ablaze)
truth be told, you didn't exactly know why, so you excused it was just an ick. it should have been only an ick, but the way goosebumps crowded your skin every time he appeared was a dead giveaway to avoid him at all costs, and that he was, in fact dangerous.
"i'll drink with him only when one of us is dead."
"are you making that a promise? "
" ...i guess i am."
"..."
"... "
"you want a cigarette?"
(when silence takes over, he always changes the subject and then pulls out his sixth cigarette, only fourteen remaining in the pack)
"no, i'm fine. keep them for you."
"you sure? you've been eyeing them for some time now."
"no, i was thinking - don't you want a new lighter? this one's all beat up and it barely even works anymore. i'll-"
"nah, i'm fine. this one's good enough,"
(he likes his lighter, he always keeps it with him, wherever he goes.)
.
.
.
"i must be out of my fucking mind"
you curse under your breath, the cold air hits your face as you rush down the road. why are you doing this? stopping in the middle of the street, you ask yourself the same question for the fifteenth time already. for you? for him? for him? the wind blows and the aluminum beer cans you carry in your plastic bag slam against each other with ferocity.
now you turn right and the big, stone sign greets your eyes immediately. it reads out 'CEMETERY'.
you stay in your place, you don't move. what you do instead is fidget, asking yourself yet again why you're here. you never liked him and he never liked you, so why do you feel a sense of duty? why do you feel like you have to be here this exact moment?
you walk, school clothes nice and clean, wind refreshingly blowing through them. then you stop. why is he here?
your eyes widen in disbelief, tears brimming at the edges. there's no doubt it isn't him - the tattoo on his hand gives it all away. he looks different now, spiky haircut swapped out for a long 'do, dressed in baggy clothes, hood over his head. still, you manage to see his eyes - once warm and passionate - cold as stone, empty as a void. what you fail to see is the dim spark that appears when he sees you. it's been three years now, but you're still the same.
you watch as he studies you, taking in every detail. from the hem of your school shirt to the length the pants fall at, to the way your mouth rests open or how the wind blows through your hair. he missed you, something he can't deny.
you still stand there in silence and watch him. anger bubbles up in your stomach. you want to grab him by the collar, to pull his hair out, to scream at him until your lungs collapse and your throat aches, to ask him for the answers to all the questions he had left unsettled when he left.
that's why you take a step foward, but you don't yell at him. you can't bring yourself to. not after what he's been through. instead, you smile and warm, angry, frustrated - happy - tears paint your cheeks.
"hey," you choke out.
"hey," he says back, and the look on his face softens, "do you want a cigarette?"
"yes." the response comes unexpected to both of you but you take a seat next to him, nonetheless.
you watch as he reaches into his pocket and takes out an old, beat-up, grey lighter. the flame it produces is not a spark and you can't help but feel a bit disappointed.
"so you finally changed it?" you quirk up an eyebrow as you quickly count the number of cigarettes he has left in his pack. it's fifteen, so he smoked five.
"no," the boy replies coldly, "just got it fixed."
he hands you the carton, igniting the tobacco as soon as you pull one of the cylinders out.
the smoke is hot and thick, and it doesn't taste good. you exhale and close your eyes for a brief moment, only to find him staring at that lighter.
"it's the one you got me when i started smoking, after all. it means a lot to me."
he looks at the metal box in awe, memories invading his thoughts.
"you haven't changed at all, shuji hanma." you smile and put out the cigarette.
"you didn't forget about your promise."
he points to the plastic bag to your left. you reach for it and grab the two beer cans. he's also got two.
"i said i'd only drink with him if he died, didn't i?" you chuckle and open the can.
"..."
"i'm sorry.
can i tell you a story?"
(he still breaks the silence by changing the subject)
"depends on what it's about."
"the clown, the shinigami and how in one of their hearts bloomed a Kamchatka lilly."
"..."
"i'll take that smile as a yes."

Major Demon Slayer Manga Spoilers Below The Cut
Tumblr media
Hey anon! Thanks for asking!
Fair warning- it has been a hot minute since I fully read the ending; but I’m gonna try my best to summarize it! Here we go :D
So: After they fight Muzan and he turns into that giant weird baby thing, everything seems normal until they realize Tanjiro is “dead” there’s a moment of grieve, the reality is setting in, and then BOOM! Muzan’s back. He had injected his blood into Tanjiro and had taken over!
He’s trying to completely take over, but Tanjiro’s strong and stubborn, so we have a bit of an internal battle going on while his physical body is being used to fight the now wounded/dying corps. It all comes to an end when Kanao stabs Tanjiro with the reversal medicine (the one that saved Nezuko) and Muzan is finally dead!
Tanjiro looses an eye and the use of his left hand, but overall lives! He marries Kanao, finally able to live out his days with his sister and friends and of course his wife :D By the end of the Manga, we’re following his great-great grandchildren and the lives they live.
I hope that summarizes everything- there is obviously alot more that went down in the actual manga and chapters, but this is more or less a summary of the events!
For more clear details I’m going to link the chapter summaries for 201, 202, 203, 204, and 205 here :D That’s more or less the entire battle plus the ending.
Thanks for asking!

SPOILER CHARACTERS 205 CHAPTER
⚠ mention of lactation kink, (adult) baby sumihiko (adult) baby
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sumihiko with lactation / breast kink is ♡♡♡♡♡
He's such a baby, I actually feel like he has a weakness for your chest? And he doesn't care what "kind of chest" you have, because he's in love with any one.
Just imagine: Sumihiko crawls under your blanket just to snuggle up to you, and makes unhappy, sleepy noises when you try to remove him.
He just likes to lazily lick and bite your nipples, or wrap his lips around them and caress them while he is half asleep♡
He'll make the saddest noises in the world until you let him hide his face in your beautiful chest.
And you can't say no when he looks at you with his puppy eyes♡

It's Only Logical - Chapter 23
Chapter 23: Confrontations and Justice
First Chapter Previous Chapter
Pairings: Logicality/Prinxiety
Warnings: TW for Jason Bryce, Violence, and swearing!
His flowers, he thought. Plants that he’d raised from seeds, bulbs, babied along their whole lives, now lying ruined on the ground. Twisted, trampled and ripped. Innocent, and he took a silent moment to grieve before racing around the corner of the building.
He skidded to a stop as he saw Jason Bryce swing a baseball bat, shattering a window. “You son of a bitch!”
He saw the surprise on Jason’s face as he whirled around, followed by rage. “Heard you were busy today. Figured I’d be done and gone before you showed up.”
“Well, you figured wrong.”
“Doesn’t matter.” He swung the bat again, shattering another window in a hail of jagged glass. “You think you can get away from me? Humiliate me, sick the police on me?” Another crash, another window gone. “Someone needs to put you in your place.”
“You humiliated yourself, and if you don’t put that down and get the hell off my property, I’m going to do a lot more than sick the cops on you.” Logan raised his chin, clenching his fists at his sides.
“Is that so? Just you and me now, isn’t it?” Jason slapped the bat against his palm, glaring at him. “Do you have any idea what you cost me?”
“I have a general idea, and it’s going to be a lot more soon. Trespassing, destruction of property.”
Jason didn’t use the bat on him, but he could see the look in his eyes when he considered it before tossing it away. He lashed out, slapping Logan across the cheek with that familiar, brutal force that snapped his head to the side.
Logan felt like his heart was about to beat out of his chest as he faced Jason down, ignoring the throbbing of his face. “That the best you’ve got? Seems like your dick isn’t the only thing that’s soft anymore.”
“You mouthy little bitch!” Jason snarled, throwing himself at Logan. “That fucking nobody ruined you, that stupid clod with his little brat! You’re mine, you’ll always be mine!”
Logan caught Jason and used his own momentum to throw him against the wall, lashing out with his fists, which clearly caught Jason by surprise. “I don’t belong to anybody but myself, you arrogant piece of shit!”
Jason grunted as he took the lighter blows before pinning Logan’s arms down and tossing him to the ground. He was bigger, and stronger, and he used his own body to force Logan down in the dirt. “Maybe you just need to be reminded. Isn’t that right, pet?” He gripped the back of Logan’s neck in a familiar hold that had his stomach churning with fear and disgust.
“Get your goddamn hands off of me!” Logan snapped, kicking up and out until he connected hard enough to make Jason wheeze and loosen his grip.
He heard shouts and running feet, and Logan scrambled away to slowly stand on rubbery legs as Virgil tore around the corner two steps ahead of Patton.
“I’m fine. I’m okay.” Logan said calmly, although his head was spinning like a carousel. “This bastard might need medical attention, though.”
“Fuck him!” Virgil snarled, reaching out to Logan. His hands feathered over Logan’s face as he checked for injury, scowling. “He HIT you? Jesus fucking Christ, he hit you?!”
“I got him worse, believe me. And we’re going to press all sorts of charges.” Logan gave a wan smile and patted Virgil’s shoulder as he slowly took stock of himself. He scowled as he spotted the tear on the knee of his pants. “Goddammit! I got this suit especially for today. All sorts of charges.”
“The police are on their way. Barbara called on her cell on her way back to Roman’s to get us.” Patton’s voice shook, and Logan could tell from the look on his face it was a combination of fear and rage.
“Good. That’s good.” Logan sagged a bit, the adrenaline draining out of him. “Virgil, can you do me a favor? Bring this piece of shit around front. I don’t want to see him any longer or I might grab that bat and do something that’ll land me in jail.”
“Let me stand him up first.” Patton reached down and hauled Jason up on his feet with one hand. He turned and looked at Logan, all steely blue eyes. “Sorry.” And plowed his fist into Jason’s face, sending him sprawling to the ground again.
“I don’t mind a bit.” Logan could feel a wide grin spreading across his face as his knees wobbled dangerously. “Not one damn bit.”
Virgil hauled Jason up by the back of his collar and started marching him away, grinning meanly as he kicked the bastard’s feet out from under him as they walked. “Oops, you’ve got to watch where you’re going, Brycey.” He looked back at Logan with a grin. “You sure kicked ass today, Lo.”
“Thanks. And if he so much as twitches wrong, you go ahead and hit him as hard as you want. No complaints from me.” Logan gave a tremulous smile as he leaned against the wall of the shop building. “But I think all this ass kicking has left me out of sorts, so if you don’t mind, I’ll sit right here and catch my breath?”
“Here.” Patton took off his suit jacket and laid it on the ground. “No need to mess up your suit any more than it already is.”
“Thank you, sweetheart.” Logan sank gratefully down, leaning against Patton to take in the warmth and support he offered. He sat quietly until his heart rate slowed to normal, until the tangle of nerves, rage and disgust in his belly had eased a bit. Broken glass glittered in the sunlight, scattered on the ground around them. Glass could be replaced, he reminded himself. He’d mourn his flowers, but he’d save some of the wounded, and he’d grow more. An abundance of more.
“How’s your hand?” he asked Patton.
“Fine. Good.” Patton all but spat it out. “He’s got a chin like a marshmallow.”
“Big strong man.” Logan turned to wrap his arms around him, and didn’t mention Patton’s raw scraped knuckles. Patton gently helped him to his feet, and he leaned in close, refusing to let him go just yet.
“He must have been crazy to think he could get away with this,” Patton muttered, glaring in the direction Virgil had dragged Jason off to.
“A little, I guess. I imagine he planned to be done wrecking my place before the wedding was over. He’d figure we’d blame it on kids -- or the police would. And all I’d have was a mess on my hands. A man like that has no respect for others. He doesn’t believe anyone can best him.” Logan replied softly, resting his head on Patton’s shoulder.
“One did.” Patton shot him a look, clearly indicating he wasn’t referring to himself. Logan rubbed his arms, then clutched gratefully at the lapels of Patton's jacket as he picked it up and draped it over his shoulders, wrapping an arm around him. Logan burrowed into his warmth, unsure if his bones would ever be warm again.
“I can hardly believe this happened. If you hadn’t come when you had--” Logan cut himself off, refusing to entertain that line of thinking.
“We could hear you shouting.” Patton said quietly. “You cost Virgil and I several years off our lives. So I’m going to say this once.”
He turned, taking the lapels of his jacket into his hands and holding Logan steady so he was facing him. “And you are damn well going to hear it. I respect and admire your steely will, Logan, and appreciate your temper and capability. But the next time you so much as think about taking on some lunatic with a bat all on your own, I’m going to be doing some ass kicking. And it’s going to be your ass with the bullseye painted on it.”
Logan angled his head, studied his face, and saw he meant every word he’d said. Son of a gun. “You know, if I hadn’t already decided on this thing I’m about to ask you, that would have done it. How can I resist a man who lets me fight my own battles, then when the time is right steps in and cleans house? After the dust is clear, he gives me a good piece of his mind for being an idiot. Which I was, no question, no argument.”
“Glad to hear we’re agreed on that.” Patton replied dryly.
Logan took a step closer, and wrapped his arms around his neck, pulling his boyfriend closer. “I really love you.”
“I really love you back.”
“Then you won’t mind marrying me.” Logan felt his body jerk, just a little, just once, then settle in against his own, warm and true.
“I don’t see a problem with that. Are you sure?” Patton murmured, gently sliding his hands around Logan’s waist, holding him close.
“If you had asked me that a few months ago, I’d say no, but I’ve never been more sure of anything in my entire life. I’m a logical person, a person who thinks things through, and then over-thinks them, and then thinks about them some more, and some more still – and yet I don’t know that I can define love. Yet the cliche about love, of course, is that you’ll know it when you’re in it, right?” Logan asked, looking up at him. Patton lifted a hand to gently cup his face, smiling softly at him. “I used to think it happened explosively. That love was something astronomically powerful that not only swept you off your feet, but knocked you down on your ass and soaked through your skin and became an overarching force that was impossible to ignore. But, what if that’s not it? What if love is quiet and soft? What if love is gradual and delicate? What if love isn’t an explosion, but is instead this calm feeling you get when you wake up one golden Sunday morning and realize that there’s nowhere else you’d rather be than next to this person whose quirks make you laugh until you can’t breathe? Lately, I think I’ve stopped trying to define it and have started to believe that being in love is about more than just explosive emotion. And yet, it’s also about more than just finding someone to coexist with in the same space at the same time. Love is about finding someone who lights even the tiniest parts of your soul on fire. It’s about finding someone who makes you more you, who will even surprise you every now and then by knowing you better than you know yourself.” Logan leaned into Patton’s touch, feeling his heart leap even now.
“Am I that person to you, Lo?” Patton’s voice was thick with emotion, his blue eyes shimmering with tears.
“I believe I have found that person in you, and no one else will suffice.” Logan’s hands fisted in his boyfriend’s hair, his face intense. He didn’t talk about emotions, didn’t do this very often, so he wanted to take the opportunity to pour out all the words he’d probably never say again while he still could. “I want a safe place to rest my lips, and a soft place to land. I want someone who will keep me in his heart because that’s where I’ll be warm and safe. I want someone who will look at me when I’m at my messiest and kiss me on the forehead, someone who thinks I’m lovely in the morning, and at night, and during all the in between times. Someone who knows how much I like to be whispered to and who isn’t scared off when I’m crying, rare though that may be. Someone who can sense when I’m overwhelmed, who just knows when life is too much and who will, in those moments, stand close enough to me to block everything else out. Most importantly, I want someone who will stand beside me and face my battles with me, rather than standing in front of me. I want you, for the rest of our lives. I want Thomas and Parker and messy pizza nights and and everything that goes--”
Patton cut him off with a fierce kiss, swallowing whatever words Logan may have said. Logan made a soft sighing sound and melted into him, happily yielding in that moment. He leaned on him, knew without a doubt that he could lean on him--and trust him to step back when he needed to stand on his own.
Everything inside of Logan calmed, even when they broke the kiss and he snuggled against Patton’s chest, looking out at the destruction of what was his. He would fix it, save what could be saved and accept what couldn’t. He would live his life, plant his gardens, and walking hand-in-hand with the man he loved, he would watch both bloom. It wasn’t how he’d planned to do this, not by a long shot, but it was still the happiest moment of his life. “Do you think Thomas will be okay with it?”
“Are you kidding? He’d been pestering me for weeks now, asking when I was going to marry you and when we’d get to come live with you forever. Pretty sure he’d already decided you’re his stepfather.” Patton grinned, rolling his eyes fondly at the thought of his energetic son. “Now come on, slugger. I think we’ve got a police statement to give.”
“Mmm. But let’s hold off on announcing our engagement for a few days. I want Roman and Virgil to have their moment. Even if Jason put a dark cloud on it.”
“Are you serious? Virgil got to see him get his ass kicked. He’ll probably thank you for the wedding present.”
Logan threw his head back and laughed, the sound echoing in the sunlit air around them. No matter what else came next, he knew he had faced his demons and won. And he would never have to face it alone.
A/N: And that's it! We're done! Welcome to the end of It's Only Logical. I cannot believe I started this fic in 2017. Or that I finished it. I'll probably do some one shots or drabbles from this universe, little stories and bits of things that couldn't fit into the main fic, but the bulk of it is here. And all done at last! Apologies again to my former tag list. I lost it, and I feel terrible that for the end I couldn't tag you all. This chapter won't be any different on Ao3 or Wattpad. For those who weren't aware, Ao3 has the Explicit version of this fic, and Wattpad has this non-explicit version, possibly in an easier format. I've linked both, so if you feel like going back and re-reading all over again, you can. I love you all so, SO much and I appreciate all the support and patience you have given me. <3 Also? Roman stayed behind to keep the wedding guests calm, but he's going to be overjoyed when he hears what happened. And I like to think Virgil finally got to punch Jason Bryce right in his stupid, stupid face.

Week 3 - MHA 300 and Attack on Titan 4x8, SNK chapter 137 leaks - Spoilers beware
Alright on to this week’s post. Today I'm going to be talking about the latest chapter of MHA (the big 300, almost 1/3 the size of One piece (1003 chapters and counting) and about 3/2 the size of Demon Slayer(205 chapters)) as well as the latest episode of Attack on titan as well as the current leaks for the next chapter, which will be releasing sometime next week (Feb 9).
First the MHA chapter, in this one we first see the aftermath of the decreasing trust in hero society along with the massive jailbreaks of chapters 297 and 298. This results in villains acting in broad daylight and ordinary citizens using support equipment to fight them off in vigilante justice, with citizen reactions to the hero Wash showing up as negative. This vigilantism also causes lots of destruction to the surrounding building and area. The chapter also goes on to show many heroes resigning with the most significant being the #9 hero Yoroimusha. Then it shows how society is reacting to the dwindling faith in heroes with a flash of the Hero Killer Stain shown.
Then the chapter transitions to Endeavor waking up in the hospital with his internal monologue of how his days as a hero are over. He cannot face his son in battle and acknowledges that the “hero Endeavor is dead while Enji lives on” to paraphrase. The chapter ends with the rest of the Todoroki family (including Rei who was in the psychiatric ward until now) meeting with endeavor, ending on a cliffhanger. I still have the feeling that the manga is setting up a time skip however I am less confident that it will happen within the next 5 chapters than i was 2 or 3 weeks ago.
Now onto the Attack on titan Episode. This episode was pretty much perfect in my opinion, continuing the streak of each new episode being better than the last. The anime handled Sasha’s death perfectly with the OST being beautiful and it captured Jean, Connie, Armin and Mikasa’s reactions excellently. Even Eren’s laugh and subsequent breakdown was handled well. The beginning of the episode with the wrap up of the marley invasion arc was well with a quick Reiner vs Eren fight again (i think this is like the 3rd or 4th one).
Lastly, Im gonna give a quick mention to the Chapter 137 leaks for the manga. I usually read the typesets (fan translations) of the manga chapters for both MHA and SNK and they usually are at equal quality or sometimes better than the official translations (MHA weekly on viz.com, SNK monthly in print). For chapter 137, the leaks appear that the chapter, given that it is one of the last ones, is going to be a very controversial one, with some memes comparing it to season 8 of Game of Thrones. I hope that it isnt as bad as that but we’ll have to see next week when the chapter’s typeset and official release come out.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 205 Release Date, Spoilers & Raw: Tsukumo Yuki Vs. Kenjaku!
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, Jujutsu Kaisen is the only series break in the upcoming issue of the weekly shonen and we will have to wait until the next issue of the magazine is released. Thus, Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 205 will take it to be released by the end of this month. Aside from the tremendous amount of information that is being revealed in One Piece, the tense in Huter x Hunter, Jujutsu Kaisen is highly focused on the action-oriented narration currently and filling the gap that the other mangas are missing.  While the American soldiers are infiltrating the colonies as Kenajaku planned, the latter himself is planning something on his own by abducting Tengen and using their abilities for their own good. The plot of the series right now may be messy with everything considered, however, the fight for the point being is awesome and the plot will come up as one of the best plots. The previous two chapters of the series were focused on the self-claimed loving older brother of Yuji who was fighting Kenjaku. Choso's main goal was to get Kenjaku to use some of his abilities so that Tsukumo Yuki has an advantage when she fights the latter even if meant Choso dies trying. The best outcome of this fight would have been Kenjaku using his Domain Expansion. But in the Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 204, we saw that not only did Choso get Kenjaku to use something other than the low cursed spirits, but Choso has also managed to stay alive and Yuki has joined the fight. If Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 205 won't switch to some other narrative, then we will surely see a two-against-one fight in the chapter. So, here is everything you need to know about the Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 205. We will every detail about the Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 205  like when it is going to be released as it is the main concern of the masses given that it is on the break as well as the details on where you can read the Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 205 legally and for free. So without any further ado, here are the updates regarding the Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 205. Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 205 Raw Scans And Spoilers Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 204 begins with Choso getting his imaginary motivation from his dead brothers and Yuji as well. Choso begins to use his abilities "Piecering Blood" trying hard to get Kenjaku to use his abilities and weaken him.  However, Kenjaku dodges the Piecering Blood technique while saying that if he dodges this attack at first then no matter how many courses that projectile attacks take, it won't be as fast as the last time the attack was released. Choso uses Eso's Wing King to get faster and uses close combat to fight Kenjaku. Whereas, we also learn that, as their parent, Kenjaku cannot even be affected by the Poison inside the piercing blood. Choso desperately tries more and more attacks to keep Kenajaku at bay and get him to use techniques other than releasing curse spirits. Tricky, Choso gets a lot of compressed blood near Kenjaku that will be fatal for him however, Kenjaku uses a cursed technique that knocks down the compressed blood meaning that Kenjaku used something other than cursed spirit manipulation. Thus enters Yuki applauding Choso's efforts and seemingly joining the fight. Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 205 will likely continue with the battle between them and we might finally see Yuki's cursed techniques and why she is a special-grade sorcerer. Whereas, we could also see Choso using Domain Expansion as well and Kenjaku himself using other cursed techniques. The Raw Scans and Spoiler for Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 205 aren't out yet and given that the chapter won't be released in the upcoming issue, the spoilers and the raw scans will also be delayed and will be out by next Wednesday i.e. 23rd of November. Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 205 Release Date As mentioned earlier, Jujutsu Kaisen will be on a break in the upcoming issue thus, Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 205 will be back in the later issue of the weekly shonen jump magazine number 52nd releasing on November 27th, 2022. Where to read Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 205? Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 205 will be free to read on various platforms such as Viz Media and Manga Plus. Whereas you can also read the first three and the latest three chapters of the series as well, however, to read the entire catalog, you will have to switch to their paid subscription.
