move from within we’re discussing some of the most common misconceptions around meditation over at ateliertheche.com, my personal favourite is: meditation equals emptying the mind. These limited ideas and jargon set practitioners into failing themselves at having a consistent practice. meditation is a practice of observation, because our mind are essentially always working, even in our sleep. by learning to observe, rather than identify ourselves and getting attached to what our minds are thinking we can learn to explore the being behind the thought. after all, meditation is a practice of self-discovery. and just like any relationship, this requires time, even if it’s only five minutes of your day. by devoting yourself to a practice that fosters wellbeing to all your aspects of your life, you’re already strengthening this neural-pathways in the brain which will assist you in making more wholesome choices for you, your life and those around you. a day well spent recalibrating myself this is an essential part of my wellbeing. some days i just want to bask in my own energy, other days i like to commune with nature, other times i recalibrate through conscious relationships and laugh my ass off. the most essential aspects if my daily maintenance is by starting my day with checking in with myself as i sit down in silence and drop down into my heart. It took me a long time to get into meditation, and when i did it was out of necessity. I stuck with it and made it a daily practice, along the journey i fell in love with it and decided i wanted to share i have learned–which is why I became a meditation coach.
