what i would do moving forward if i was watcher entertainment except i don't know anything about business
statement by morning, something like "we've heard you, we're listening. more coming soon." they need to say something, they are loosing subscribers by the minute. including me :D
video posted by monday. here's my vision: the three of them walk into frame with clown shoes (there is sound effects), they have clown makeup and wigs. because this was a clown move. they break down what tf is going on over there and why they felt the need to make this decision?? if your on the verge of bankruptcy just say that. swallow your pride, bring your fucking accountant in and have them break down the costs of things.
delete the patreon, have podcasts on the main channel for free and also on the streaming platform. wild move that they expect people to pay for two platforms for their content?? it's literally just a podcast this is not high budget content, if they want patreon as a cheaper option they could even move things like are you scared, too many spirits on there. bring it down to like $3 a month or something idk people would probably be more willing to pay that than $6 a month.
there needs to be more incentive to sign up to the streaming platform. when dropout launched, it still had plenty of content on youtube for free and continues to upload free content, they also have a large ensemble, and new content daily. watcher will have four videos a month for $6. that's the difference between a meal/ticket home for a lot of people.
so they could put more of their behind the scenes workers as on screen talent (smosh/gmm situation), or take in other buzzfeeders maybe? idk just there needs to be a way to get more content. as it is this isn't enough to justify it.
crowdfund for the pricer projects like worth it, ghost files. this is what starkid does, people are willing to put money towards things they specifcially want to see. but if people are wanting to watch just ghost files & mystery files, theres not enough content to justify $60usd a month.
have a meeting where you realise who your target audience is and understand it is largely people 15 - 35, who do not have income spare/do not have income that can go towards an extra frivolous thing such as this.
most of the audience has followed for shane and ryan, and their dynamic. lots of people have followed for ghost files/mystery files, people don't care about these shows being super high budget!! especially mystery files, that could honestly be filmed with one camera, two of them behind a desk rhett and link style there is no need to have so much money dedicated to such a low budget concept. this would also allow bigger seasons for files.
please watcher revaluate your choices. i think people will permenantly have a changed view of you going forward but you can still save what you have.

Daily Devotionals for November 9, 2024
Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living
Devotional Scripture:
Proverbs 27:23-24 (KJV): 23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds. 24 For riches are not forever: and doth the crown endure to every generation? Proverbs 27:23-24 (AMP): 23 Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, and look well to your herds; 24 For riches are not forever; does a crown endure to all generations?
Thought for the Day
Verse 23 - Although these verses were addressed to farmers, we can relate to them today in regard to our businesses. We are to take responsibility and know the state of our affairs. Large flocks of sheep and goats made a man wealthy in ancient Israel. This proverb advised a wealthy man to personally know the condition of his flocks and ascertain that his overseers fulfilled their responsibilities properly. They were to protect and keep count of them, taking special care of the sick, injured, and pregnant ones; paying special attention to the babies.
Having riches or employment now does not guarantee we will always have them. We need to give diligent care and management to our livelihood. Romans 12:11 says, "Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord." Negligence creates problems that can lead to severe financial difficulties. Many factors can lead to bankruptcy, such as over-extending oneself (due to greed or lack of sound business principles) or extenuating circumstances beyond one's control. Sometimes it is not people's fault that they are forced into bankruptcy since they are victims of illness, tragedy, or uncontrollable disasters. Despite this, many of the bankruptcies which are filed today could have been avoided if diligence had been practiced. "He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich" (Proverbs 10:4).
Verse 24 - Just as a king will not rule throughout every generation, riches do not last forever. There is a good deal of truth to the statement, "money talks: it says 'good-bye'." Money says "good-bye" in numerous ways, such as in poor planning for the future. As people age, their work capacity diminishes, which usually decreases their income. Without wise and diligent care of their finances, people may spend all their money when they are young and leave themselves with nothing to live on when they are old. If we heed the Lord and apply good business principles in regard to our finances, we can rest assured that we will have enough when we are in our senior years. Living for God is one of the best insurance policies anyone can have. He can provide what no human agency can, such as good health. He promises that the righteous will still bear fruit in old age (Psalm 92:12-14), meaning that they will remain productive. We must diligently take up our responsibilities if we desire God's blessings, and not forget to help others along the way. If we bless others, God will return those blessings to us when we are in need.
Prayer Devotional for the Day
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for Your abundant provision in my life. I am grateful, not only for financial provision, but for the spiritual blessings that You have also given me. I do appreciate daily strength and health so that I am able to be diligent in all of my affairs. Give me wisdom so that I might prepare for the future properly. Ultimately, my faith and trust are in You, as You hold the future; however, may I not neglect those things in the natural that need to be done, so that I am not ill-prepared. Lord, also, I do not want to forget to give and help others along the way as well. May I be a good steward over all that You have given me. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. Spirit Airlines filed for bankruptcy protection Monday, as mounting losses, unaffordable debt, increased competition for bargain-seeking airline passengers and the inability to merge with other airlines left it little choice. The airline said it will continue to operate as it restructures its debt. “Guests can continue to book and fly without interruption and can use all tickets, credits and loyalty points as normal,” it said in a statement. Airlines and other companies in the United States frequently file for bankruptcy and emerge stronger on the other side of the process. Most major US airlines, including the three largest — American Airlines, United and Delta have filed for bankruptcy at some point in the past 25 years.

Chapter 1
Look around, lovely
Tumblr media
I’ve been through many things in my life. From my ex leaving me for a “slim thick” girl who lived three blocks away to my best friend, making it their goal to break my spirit from the inside out. I had to cut ties with my treacherous family. I had to change my name, eye color, and wear a purple wig to flee from another crazy ex to Hawaii. I almost had to file for bankruptcy when my twin sister bought three foreign sports cars in my name.
—I’ve been through a lot, but I never expected to find myself in the middle of this shitstorm.
“Yo, Chen, move your ass!”
“I’m almost there!” This so-called Chen hisses into his phone, tugging me behind him by my arm. He glares back at me when I stumble over a recycling bin. “Shut it.” His grip turns painful when I slow down my pace. He stomps hurriedly down shaded alleyways and dimly lit streets. I'd scoff at his audacity if I wasn’t so busy trying to form a plan to escape and not fall flat on my face in the process.
“Yo bitch.” He throws another nasty look over his shoulder, “keep up, will ya?”
My eyes narrow as I purposely stomp on the back of his foot. “Oops,” I chirp when he yelps, hiding my smirk while he curses and hobbles on one leg. “Guess that’s too close, eh?”
He bares his teeth at me. The smirk quickly falls off my lips when the ground is suddenly approaching my face at an alarming rate.
I brace my hands against the pavement at the last second, but my right arm buckles under my weight, sliding my frantic hands across the rugged surface, scraping against the sidewalk with a painful burn. I groan at the fire hot pain shooting up my forearm.
“Oops,” he mocks, his leather boots stepping into view. He bends down in front of me with a tilt of his head. “Guess that was too soon, huh?” His victory smirk on his curled lips would have been sexy if I didn’t have the urge to punch him in his pretty face.
I keep my eyes on him, slowly bringing myself back to my feet. It takes everything in me to ignore the pulsing pain in my knees and the warm liquid running down my elbow as he stands back to his full height. His unimpressive 5’8 stature seems intimidating while I’m poorly hiding my injured arm behind my back. It doesn't help that he has a tattoo of a snake on his bicep, the green ink peeking out from under the sleeve of his black t-shirt. He’s not tall, but he is buff, and that is enough for me to keep my mouth shut... for now.
He runs his eyes over my quiet defensive stance, his smirk turning even more cruel before he yanks me forward by my injured arm. “If we’re late, that’s your ass.”
I roll my eyes to distract myself from the tears threatening to fall, biting my tongue. My hands and arm throb painfully in sync. That hurt like a bitch and he’s two seconds away from being smacked like one.
After walking a few more empty blocks, the rev of an engine reaches my ears—and it’s not from a car. My heart plummets when the realization sets in and the beaming headlights of shiny black vehicles come into view. Two motorcycles stop a few feet away from us in a deserted parking lot. The riders are wearing black helmets with matching clothes, blending in with the night. Their faces are shaded under the dim light of the moon when they take their helmets off.
Dusk is on the rise, concealing the moon behind thick clouds as the world waits for the sun to peek over the horizon. The darkest hour of the night… Looking around at the buff asshole and two newcomers, I can only hope that I’ll make it to see the sunrise. I swallow my nerves while Chen impatiently drags me over to the others.
The guy on the left is the first one to notice us. He shakes his hair, the brunette strands catching light before he switches off the headlights. He’s tall with beautifully toned skin, whistling when we step off of the sidewalk. “Damn hyung, took you long enough.”
Chen shrugs. “Catching the prize was a bit of a struggle.” He rattles my arm for emphasis, his smirk visible under a flickering streetlight.
“Oh?” The brunette’s eyes trail over me, focusing on my pulsing arm before shifting back to the prick next to me. “Looks a bit like damaged goods, hyung.”
“That wouldn’t be the case if it had acted accordingly.” He shrugs, nonchalantly looking me over.
My eyes and mouth twitch. It is really taking everything in me not to say something.
“Hopefully hyung doesn’t mind,” The other tall guy speaks up, eyeing me warily while I stare at his unnaturally orange hair.
“Byun won’t do shit,” Chen waves him off, pulling me closer to a parked bike three parking spaces away. “He hasn’t before and he won’t start now.”
The orange-top guy starts to reply until a loudly revved engine fills the air, announcing the arrival of more motorcycles entering the deserted parking lot. I glare at the biker driving in front, from his laid back posture alone he must be the leader.
“Baekhyun!” Chen yells into the still night with a cocky grin, laughing gleefully. “So happy for you to finally join us. I feared we’d start without you.”
The leader calmly parks his bike a couple of feet away, pulling off his helmet while the other five bikers join him. I bite my cheek to hold back my gasp when his face is revealed. What I expected was some forty-year-old gang member with a huge tattoo, crooked beard, and salt/pepper hair. Not a twenty-something-year-old with one of the most attractive faces I’ve ever seen in my life.
His light brown hair ruffles in the wind, the salty scent of the sea rolling in. He shakes his bangs out of his eyes, looking at the man next to me with a blank expression on his face. Baekhyun’s eyes slowly follow Chen’s arm down to my own in his tight grasp. His eyes linger on my injured arm, the clench of his jaw and flare of his nostrils has my eyes shooting down to look at it myself.
The sight of blood steadily dripping from my ripped sleeve has me wincing. I bite my lip hard to hold back a pain-filled whimper.
Baekhyun cuts his eyes back to Chen with a murderous glare, “Jongdae.” He hisses venomously.
Chen stiffens, his grip loosening on my arm, “Byun?” He’s caught off guard, the confusion rings loudly in his uncertain voice.
“What the fuck is this?” Baekhyun looks at my arm then at him again, his voice growing louder by the minute. “Why the hell is she bleeding?”
“She wasn’t…” Willing to come? Willing to follow a stranger? Willing to get pulled out of a store for nothing? “Very compliant.”
“And you brought her here anyway?” Baekhyun gives him an incredulous look, his eyes narrowed at the latter’s silence. “What. The. Fuck. Did. You. Do.”
I shift on my feet, highly uncomfortable just witnessing this exchange. The other bikers watching them quietly doesn’t calm my nerves in the slightest. I know one thing for certain—the tension can be cut with a knife, and I’m not about to be in the middle of this hell much longer.
“I was walking with her down the street, and she fell.” Chen chooses to say.
I crack my neck when I whip it around to face him. “Really?” I snap. “You purposely yanked me forward and let go, yet dare say I fucking fell?!”
Chen scowls at me. “Well if you weren’t being such a bi‒” He pales when I sense a dark aura behind me.
I turn around to a furious Baekhyun. His brown eyes blaze brightly in anger amongst the pitch darkness of the night, the wind tousling his hair across his forehead. The urge to take a step back is high until I remember who is right behind me. Baekhyun takes one look at me then turns his fire-filled gaze to the fearful man behind me. “I’ll deal with you later.”
I look down at the sudden hand gently grabbing my uninjured arm, meeting Baekhyun’s eyes before he takes a step back. And for some reason; I follow. He keeps his eyes steady on mine before turning to address the others. “I’m calling it off.” His gaze meets every individual one of theirs. “Any objections?”
No one even so much as moves.
Baekhyun firmly nods, peering down at me with a raised brow. “Come with me?” Even while he asks, I’m already being led over to his bike. He grabs his helmet and pauses, turning to me, the dim street lights reflecting the mysterious glint in his brown eyes. “Have you ridden a motorcycle before?”
I look at the bike then back at him, narrowing my eyes. “Are you planning to kill me with it?”
The corner of his lips twitch up, “that’s a no then. May I?”
Eyeing the helmet in his hands, I nod, quickly muttering, “if I die, I’m suing you,” when he starts to place it on my head.
Baekhyun chuckles. “Don’t worry.” He adjusts the helmet with a teasing little grin, his voice low enough for only me to hear. “You’re in good hands.”
“Uh huh—oof!” I yelp when he suddenly lifts me up and sets me on the back of his vehicle—that seems one hundred times more intimidating now that I’m sitting on it. “I swear, Byun, if I fall‒”
“You won’t.” Baekhyun affirms. He throws his leg over the motorcycle and climbs onto it with grace, throwing one last look back at me before starting the engine. It purrs in a way I’ve never heard before. The low, crispy sound vibrates through my entire body when his deep voice reaches my ears. “Hold on tight.”
When he revs the engine, I wrap my arms tightly around his waist. The fear of death is greater than the pulsing of my bleeding arm. We speed out into the street, the others becoming mere specks of shadowy figures in the distance as we go further down the dirt road.
My eyes stay partially closed until I remember that I’m wearing a helmet, and if anyone has to do that its Baekhyun. Which is fucking scary considering the fact that he is the one driving! Steering this two-wheeled vehicle that tilts side to side depending on the gravitational pull of the earth and the wind.
I flinch when we roll over a bump in the road, gripping the front of Baekhyun’s shirt. I can’t tell if it’s the motorcycle or his chuckles causing the vibrations in his chest when I rest my head on his back. The sun is slowly rising, pale light peeking over the horizon. It bounces off of the calm ocean water in the distance. It’s fascinating, how the ocean and the cloudy sky meet, like a snowglobe full of cascading sparkles.
The blur of buildings comes into focus when we slow down, Baekhyun resting his feet on the ground when we reach a red light. Recognizing the slightly run-down buildings, my heart rate picks up. “Baekhyun? Where are we going?” I ask warily. Instead of replying, he pats my clenched fist in a pacifying manner and takes off once the light switches to green.
Gulping down my nerves, I make sure to take note of every street we go down in case I have to hightail my ass out of wherever we are headed. The sight of small brick houses and wide front porches brings a wave of nostalgia over me—and not in a good way. All I can do is hold onto him and hope I stay in one piece until we reach our destination. The weight of my knife concealed in my left boot gives me little reassurance.
We start to slow down on a street that welcomes us with the largest maple tree that I’ve ever seen, followed by small but surprisingly well-kept homes. It’s pretty for the infamous neighborhood that we are in, and the house we stop in front of in particular is the nicest one.
Baekhyun drives up the driveway and parks, getting off the motorcycle with grace before helping me down as well. I flinch when I try to straighten my injured arm. It hurts worse than it did earlier, burning every time my denim jacket sways in the wind and brushes against it. I keep my arm bent at the elbow while clutching it to my chest.
Baekhyun notices but doesn’t say anything. He walks up to the house while I linger behind, taking in the flower-filled yard. Pretty pink roses and beautifully bloomed dandelions take up most of the land. Growing steadily alongside the driveway and sidewalk, their healthy petals awaiting the sunlight.
“Hey.”
Turning back to Baekhyun, he crosses his arms and leans against the doorframe of the open door. The sun shines down on his caramel-colored coat, black graphic tee shirt, and leather pants. The more I look at him, the more confused I get. How on earth is he in a bike gang? He has no visible tattoos, no piercings. The only things “gangsta” about him are his sharp brown eyes, confident stance, and authoritative aura.
Baekhyun clears his throat, jolting me from my thoughts. He raises a brow with a tilt of his head, the corner of his lips twitching. “Come in.” He disappears into the house before I can give any sort of reply.
Pulling my phone out of my bra, I snap a picture of the street sign and send it to my friend so they know my whereabouts—just in case. I tuck it back under my shirt and take one last look at the quiet neighborhood before entering the house.
The only way I can describe the interior is warm. With light brown walls and darker carpeted floors. The living room alone is full of worn-in couches with pretty throw blankets. When I start to take off my shoes, Baekhyun pops up, shaking his head, “there’s more dirt on this floor than out in the yard.”
He walks off into another part of the house with his heeled boots and loud footsteps. I spot a bright orange crumpled leaf and a patch of dried grass in the center of the room. Heeding his advice, I take a wary glance at the unlocked door before going to look for him. Walking to the other side of the living room, I’m met with a doorway to the kitchen on my left and a hallway to my right. Finding no sign of Baekhyun in the tidy room, I venture down the hall.
“In here,” he calls out just as I pass the first door on the left.
Backtracking a few steps, I look inside the bathroom while he rummages in the cabinet under the sink. My eyes move back to him when he swears.
“I know I left it somewhere,” he mumbles just as his eyes caught sight of something. With a tug, he pulls back to close the doors, standing up with a familiar red box in his hands. “Have a seat,” he beckons me over, gesturing to the closed toilet lid with his chin.
I settle myself on the cold surface, the white porcelain chilling my skin through my jeans. Watching him carefully while he sets the first-aid kit beside the sink and takes out antibacterial wipes. When he reaches for my arm I flinch back.
Baekhyun gives me a look. “May I?”
Sighing deeply and gritting my teeth, I nod with a roll of my eyes, slowly taking off my ripped jacket and dropping it in the bathtub. I look away when he draws nearer with the wipe, clenching my hand into a fist. The sting brings tears to my eyes.
After what feels like hours, Baekhyun gets to work on the gauze, gently wrapping it around my arm and taping it together. I take a few deep breaths as he moves over to the sink, focusing on the sound of running water instead of the irritated skin of my scratched palms.
“You won’t need stitches,” Baekhyun murmurs thoughtfully, his voice breaking the silence, echoing across the tiled walls of the room. He dries his hands on an indigo blue towel hanging from a high bathroom rack attached to the wall. “...Are you okay?”
The hint of concern in his voice is surprising, it prompts my eyes shift over to him. “Yea—Fuck!” I hiss loudly, quickly bending my elbow back to its position. The tender wound throbs painfully in sync with my racing heartbeat.
His brows raise. He crosses his arms, leaning his hip against the counter and giving me another knowing look. I only glare back at him.
Baekhyun sighs tiredly. “I’ll get you an Advil.” He shakes his head, making his way out of the room and venturing further down the hallway. I clutch my arm to my chest, sending a quick text to my friend to come pick me up. Thankfully she’s right around the block, passing through the neighborhood on her way back home from work.
A smile curls on my lips when she sends a picture of the great maple tree at the nearest red light. The bandages crinkle when I stand up, grabbing my jacket and tentatively closing the first-aid kit before heading back towards the front of the house. Heavy footsteps have my head whipping back around to find Baekhyun in the hallway with a box of Advil in his hands. “Hey,” he cracks an awkward smile, his hair slightly disheveled.
I narrow my eyes at him.
The smile slowly falls off his face. He clears his throat, gesturing to the box in his hand. “I got you the Advil.”
“I see.” I don’t take my eyes off of him for a minute, shifting my weight so I can retrieve my knife if the need arises. His body language is off and his intentions are not clear. I make sure to keep distance between us; I’ve been in this situation a million times before. Whatever he is trying to achieve with this small talk, I am not up for sticking around to find out.
“Do you, uh‒” he runs a hand through his hair. “Do you need a ride?”
“No, I called a friend,” I smile tightly.
“Oh.” His hand falls down to his side. He shoves it into his pocket and outstretches the box in his hand towards me. “Here, half the box is left. You probably need them more than‒” his eyes catch mine and he clears his throat again, “me.”
I look him up and down and carefully take the box from his hand, avoiding making any contact. My lips twitch in a mixture of amusement and annoyance. “Thanks.”
Baekhyun nods, shoving both hands in his pockets, the velvet green underside of his coat showing when he parts his lips again. “About what happened earli‒”
The rev of a sports car engine cuts him off. “Hop in, bitch!” my best friend yells, breaking the tranquil atmosphere of this shady neighborhood in the early hours of the morning. “We’re going home!”
I glance at the open door then shoot him a forced, polite smile. “Thanks um… Baekhyun, was it? But there’s my ride. I got to go.”
Baekhyun nods while I make sure I have everything, tucking the box of medicine under my good arm. “See you around,” he speaks up when I’m halfway through the door.
Darting my eyes back to him with my hand on the screen door, I smile my fakest smile, letting it slam shut behind me. “Bye!” With a roll of my eyes, I match down the driveway to my friend’s car and hop in with a passive-aggressive smile.
“What the hell happened to your arm?” she raises a perfectly arched brow.
“A situation you never want to be in while shopping for hairspray, Alison. Now drive.”

Heir To The Lands Chapter 29
Masterpost Everyone Wants An Answer
The night had been terrible. Ty had cried himself to sleep in Kit's comforting embrace and the blonde hadn't slept at all out of the fear Ty would wake up in the middle of the night for a toilet break and cry some more in the bathroom. Taking care of Ty was his number one priority at the moment. Livvy's spirit and his foster parents were wisely leaving Ty to Kit, recognizing a small group of people fussing over him would stress him out more then just letting Kit handle it. Kit stared at him as he slept, and only left the bed to close his curtains when the sun began to shine. Ty slept and slept until his phone started buzzing. He stirred in his sleep and Kit couldn't help but glance at the object and wondering if Ty would be okay with him answering a probably concerned Jules. But thank the Angel, he didn't have to. Because his own phone also started buzzing and he saw both of them were texted by Dru. He quickly placed Ty's phone on the nightstand to read the text she had send him, 'It's a bit of a story, but I made it back safely from Faerie. I did require the help of Ragnor and he reminded me of being on the verge of a panic attack. What did Gwyneth and Jaime say? Because I think the Shadow World is already feeling whatever threat the Seelie Queen is planning.' Kit was euphoric yet anxious at once at Dru's message and he slowly shook Ty awake. The boy's pale eyelids fluttered until his gaze landed on Kit. After a moment of hesitation, Kit spoke, "Ty, I know your mind is too overcome right now, but you need to know Dru made it back! Somehow, she came across Ragnor and that's honestly all she texted me. But I wanted you to know she is safe." Ty's hands started fluttering as his mind was visibly racing, and Kit tried stroking his hair out of the Blackthorn boy's face, wondering what he should do to help Ty process. "Is it okay if I get you some tea?" He asked hesitantly and after a minute of silence Ty started nodding which Kit took as a yes.
Alec had called his friends to his and Magnus' apartment. Magnus had been overtly dotting by spoiling their children rotten with toys so they would be distracted for a couple of hours because they refused to go to bed once they realized that their uncles and aunties were coming over. Toys R Us is shutting down anyways, he said. Alec did not know enough about bankruptcy or mundane parenting to fully understand the picture of mundane kids and their apparant new religion of tablets, but he did not have the energy to care. Because all his mind was consumned with, where thoughts on the raid. For someone had broken into his office and stolen all kinds of files, including his correspondence with Manuel. He was sick with worry and Magnus' earlier phone call with Ragnor was enough to have his husband grow pale and quiet. For Magnus to look that distraught, it would need to take a whole lot. Alec's heart was resting in his shoes as he raced to the door as he heard the familiar doorbell and the loud yapping between Jace and Simon.
Dru had sent the text, Thais was gone from their room. She was willing to bet she was assigned to the student patrol- this was a program Luke thought up to help the New York Enclave by easing up their burdens whilst simultaneously having the opportunity to train students in actual combat. The New York neon lights ruled the dark skies as all of her thoughts floated through her head, finally getting to process everything that happened. Jaime's terrible state, meeting Ash Morgenstern again and Ragnor's worrying booth. It all sank down her mind like an anchor dropped in the vast ocean. She laid down on her bed, groaning at the long day she had. "Kit, what on earth has the Seelie Queen got planned for you?" She asked the ceiling just as the door to her room opened. Dru shot up as not one, but several people entered her room. She was just about to reach for her stele as the light switch flicked on. Thais, Laura, Tomas, Zeynep and Tavi were all standing in the room. Thais looked worried but annoyed with Tomas behind her exuding his usual calm and collected aura, Laura looked confused, Zeynep looked tired and Tavi was looking at her with one brow raised before scanning the room with disinterest. "Welcome Dru. Can you explain to me the meaning behind my brother's text?" Tomas asked as he held up his phone expectantly and Dru knew her long day wasn't over yet.

FLASH REPORT: Independent Texan Production Company and Animation 'Rooster Teeth' permanently closes down for bankruptcy after 2 decades, RWBY's future in Limbo as 'DillonGoo Studios' steps in
Tumblr media
FORT WORTH, TEXAS -- Warner Bros.-Discovery (WBD) sadly announces to close down the established independent animation studio 'Rooster Teeth' after two (2) decades of digital operation. This moves might be a bitter pill for many to swallow that marks the end of an era for the studio behind a beloved web series 'RWBY'.
Entertainment news outlet ‘Deadline’ revealed that the Texan animation studio shuts its doors, but the popular audio-only podcast known as the ‘Rooster Teeth Podcast’ (RTP) won't be impacted there too soon.
The unprecedented closure for online bankruptcy of 'Rooster Teeth' leaves fans of RWBY in a state of much uncertainty, as the fate of the web streaming series hangs in the balance, following after the old video-sharing platform YouTube in several volumes. However, a glimmer of hope emerges as the torch passed on to a different independent studio, DillonGoo Studios, based in Austin, Texas, United States of America (U.S.A.).
'DillonGoo Studios', led by its Chief Executive Officer, independent self-animator and founder named 'Dillon W. Gu', has rapidly emerged as a prominent figure in the animation community. With strong connections to the RWBY fandom, the studio has garnered significant attention. The potential partnership production between 'DillonGoo Studios' and 'RWBY' opens exciting prospects for the series' future to a new heights. With 'Mr. Gu' stepping into the role as a new show creator, apart from the late original series creator (Monty Oum), fans eagerly anticipate the direction that Volume 10, potentially its final season as 'volumes' may take under a new leadership.
People are speculating about 'Rooster Teeth' (RT) considers to be shutting down, filing for bankruptcy, and selling RWBY to acquire a new IP (intellectual property) to DillonGoo Studios. Some have mentioned that RT encountered financial difficulties and a decrease in the appeal of their animations, possibly influenced by controversial anti-LGBT sentiments, extremist criticism, fouling behavior on social media, and disruptions caused by boycotts against CRWBY members, voice actors and fictional personalities, resulting to delay and secure a new volume. But now, with 'DillonGoo Studios' stepping in, there's hope for the future of the web-streaming series.
If DillonGoo Studios takes the helm for Volume 10 of RWBY and securing a partnership with streaming networks like Crunchyroll or somewhat others (which is our internet media affiliate for 'OneNETtv Channel'), it could signify a revitalization for the beloved franchise. The legal greenlighting of Volume 10 under the banner of DillonGoo Studios opens up avenues for a fresh approach to storytelling, while retaining the essence and spirit of the series that has captivated audiences worldwide.
As RWBY-nian fans eagerly await the future of the show, the partnership between DillonGoo Studios and a streaming platform holds the promise of a bright new chapter for the iconic series. With 'Dillon Gu' at the helm, RWBY may embark on a journey filled with innovation, creativity, and a renewed sense of purpose, ensuring its enduring legacy in the annals of animation history.

Unleashing Your Inner Girlboss: Drawing Inspiration from Sophia Amoruso's Journey
In a world where conformity often seems like the norm, there's a fiery beacon of inspiration waiting for you on Netflix – the show "Girlboss." I must say, I watched this in the span of 2-3 days, it's definitely binge-worthy. It was also, clearly, so impactful that I decided to research the show and dig into its creation. I was pleased to find it is a true story & had to know more. Here, is what I've found.
This series, inspired by Sophia Amoruso's best-selling book, tells the story of a young woman's journey from thrifting vintage pieces on eBay to building an empire with her online company, Nasty Gal. With a dash of humor, a sprinkle of determination, and a whole lot of non-conformity, "Girlboss" celebrates the idea that dreams aren't meant to die in a 9-5 cubicle. Let's dive deep into Sophia Amoruso's life, her work, and the show's transformative impact.
The Birth of Nasty Gal
Sophia Amoruso's real-life story closely mirrors the narrative of the show. She did, in fact, start on eBay, selling vintage pieces she curated from thrift stores. The name "Nasty Gal" was originally taken from the 1975 album by funk singer Betty Davis. What began as a small venture rapidly blossomed into an iconic online fashion retailer. Through her unique eye for style and business acumen, Amoruso turned her passion into a thriving business that struck a chord with a generation seeking individuality.
A Friend by Her Side: The Real-Life Annie
One of the heartwarming aspects of the show "Girlboss" is the character of Annie, Sophia's best friend and confidante who experiences the journey with her. In real life, Sophia Amoruso indeed had a best friend named Annette, who shared in the highs and lows of building Nasty Gal. This genuine friendship lent authenticity to the show's portrayal of the camaraderie between the two characters. Having a friend by her side who understood the struggles and triumphs made the journey all the more memorable.
Non-Conformity in a 9-5 World
The show's rallying cry, "9-5 is where dreams go to die," encapsulates the spirit of rebellion against conventional paths. Amoruso's journey underscores the importance of embracing your passions and pursuing them relentlessly, even when it means stepping outside the boundaries of a traditional career. Her story proves that success doesn't always come in the form of a standard job – it can be built on the foundation of your true interests and abilities.
The "Shane" Factor: Real-life Parallels
One of the intriguing elements of the show is the character of Shane. While the series doesn't explicitly state that he represents Sophia's ex-husband Joel Jarek DeGraff, there are certain parallels. Shane's character, much like Joel, is a musician and has a somewhat unconventional lifestyle. It's possible that Shane is an amalgamation of different people from Sophia's life, including Joel, representing the complex dynamics of relationships that can shape one's journey.
Missteps on the Journey
However, as inspiring as the early success story may be, it's crucial to acknowledge the challenges Sophia Amoruso faced in managing Nasty Gal as it grew. Despite her initial meteoric rise, the company later faced financial difficulties and mismanagement. Reports emerged of internal issues and financial struggles that ultimately led to the decision to file for bankruptcy in 2016.
The Transformative Power of Resilience
This juncture in her journey could have marked the end, but Sophia Amoruso's resilience and determination came to the forefront. Even as she relinquished control of Nasty Gal, her story didn't conclude with failure. The lessons she learned from her mistakes and the triumphs she had experienced earlier propelled her forward.
A New Chapter
Amoruso's story didn't end with the bankruptcy of Nasty Gal. In fact, it marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life. The setback served as a catalyst for her reinvention. She continues to be an inspiring figure. Her net worth had grown substantially from her Nasty Gal days, and she had ventured into various projects beyond fashion, including podcasting and motivational speaking. She has consistently emphasized the importance of embracing failures and staying true to oneself in interviews.
She continued to share her journey through her book, "Nasty Galaxy," which delved into life lessons and personal insights. Additionally, her post-Nasty Gal ventures, allowed her to inspire others with her resilience and ability to bounce back from adversity.
Learning from Sophia's Journey
Sophia Amoruso's story and the show "Girlboss" offer several valuable lessons that viewers and readers can apply to their own lives:
Embrace Individuality: Don't be afraid to be unique and stand out from the crowd. Authenticity is a powerful tool that can open doors you never thought possible.
Pursue Your Passions: Discover what truly ignites your passion and pursue it with determination. Success is often the outcome of relentless effort in areas you love.
Overcome Setbacks: Both Amoruso's life and the show highlight that setbacks are a natural part of any journey. It's how you bounce back that defines your success.
Adapt and Innovate: The online landscape is ever-evolving. Being open to change, learning, and adapting to new trends can propel your endeavors forward.
Confidence is Key: Believe in yourself and your abilities. Confidence radiates outward, attracting opportunities and likeminded individuals.
Sophia Amoruso's journey is a reminder that challenges and failures are often an integral part of the path to success. Despite mismanaging Nasty Gal and facing bankruptcy, her story showcases the transformative power of resilience and the importance of adapting to change. Her ability to leverage her experiences, both positive and negative, for personal growth is a testament to the spirit of the Girlboss philosophy.
So on that note..
"Girlboss" on Netflix, inspired by Sophia Amoruso's life and journey, is a testament to the multifaceted nature of success and, is a reminder that the path to success need not be a one-size-fits-all formula. With a blend of resilience, non-conformity, and passion, you can carve your own trail to success, just like Sophia did. This story can be the spark that ignites your determination to chase your dreams, break free from the mundane, and unapologetically embrace your inner Girlboss.
"You don’t get taken seriously by asking someone to take you seriously. You’ve got to show up and own it." -Sophia Amoruso
While the show portrays the highs and lows with creative flair, it's essential to remember that the real Sophia Amoruso experienced her own share of struggles. Her ability to bounce back from mismanagement and bankruptcy showcases her indomitable spirit.
This story can be guiding light for those who have faced setbacks or are navigating their own unique journeys. Success is not always a linear path; it's shaped by our responses to challenges and our determination to learn and grow. So, let this story inspire you to embrace failures, and turn them into stepping stones. As Sophia herself once said, "You can have a lot of great ideas, but implementation is key."

The story of my sickness:
This is my first ever Tumblr post. I am recently two years sober, and I accidentally wrote a lot about my sobriety in the last few hours. I’d love to answer questions or hear from someone who can relate.
Just lost my job for making too many mistakes, but I’m a “joy to work with” and “incredibly talented”. Trying to figure life out.
Here’s my story. Thanks for letting me tell it.
Addiction is a cold and lonely place. The bottom of the glass is a window to the other side of the world that I watched others live in every day from my apartment on a busy street corner. Other lives seemed to be full of joy and honest fulfillment. On a molecular level, I felt that I was unworthy of even interacting with that life. The mask of normalcy I wore was made of eggshells, and it cracked when I was around the people I admired, so I hid from the world for a year.
I prescribed myself a life of misery for the perceived sins of my past. Generally a person who values truth and goodness in others, I saw the pitfall of humanity in the mirror. Disgusting, revolting, wholly wrong, and rage inducing—me. The weakest of weak links. When I became so ill from drinking and myself that I lost the ability to walk, which lasted for over a year due to neuropathic pain, I asked for help in an unwavering plea. I hadn’t left my apartment in weeks. There was dog fecal matter everywhere, which was a sign of the darkness that had overcome me considering my normal absolute adoration and care for my dogs. (They are happy and healthy!) I called a thrown-together team of loved ones with a request for help to go to rehab and the willingness to do anything to feel better. I called because I fell asleep every night fearing I wouldn’t make it to the next day. One day I actually woke up in my own blood and vomit. Scared the shit out of myself. My doctors eventually would say that a dark day had been on the horizon and would’ve easily been my demise within a month or so had I not received treatment.
There is a dense and tumultuous cloud attached to my silver linings: I had some of the money due to the sudden and life altering death of my beloved mother, but the $50,000 rehab stay was just a small percentage of what the hospitals, emergency rooms, medications, ambulance rides, and therapies amounted to. My esteemed position of four years didn’t convince my company to provide me or any of their employees with health insurance. This entire medical journey would be out of pocket and would ultimately force me to file for bankruptcy (like right now).
I had no choice but to carry on with treatment and disregard the cost. I didn’t want to hurt my family by dying. I could take or leave the constant pain I still feel daily, but I would never want to traumatize my loved ones more than I had since showing them my decaying life and shattered spirit.
I approached recovery from a place of understood brokenness and unwavering arrogance/stupidity… I was better than this. I went to rehab in two phases due to a forced three week hospital stay. Initially at rehab, I forgot often where I was, would wander off to the woods, and constantly fall from the pain in my legs. It was determined that I was too sick to stay in the program. I was taken on an $11,000 ambulance ride to a hospital after 10 days in rehab. I don’t really remember the hospital, honestly. I know I did physical therapy. There were plenty of fluids and lorazepam IVs. There were several kind nurses, unless they are figments of my imagination. I learned I could further not trust my own experiences when I hallucinated that members of my extended family were in the hall one day for several hours. No one was there. No one was coming until I had to be picked up. But I heard them speaking. Loudly. That episode eventually dissipated, and I have not hallucinated since.
I left the hospital when three weeks had passed, and I quickly reorganized at the closest thing to home base I had with my ex-fiancé. I went back to rehab to receive nine more weeks of in-patient rehabilitation for substance abuse disorder, major depressive disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder. Two years after the first day I went to a hospital, I am still sober with almost (no one’s mind is perfect) no temptation to relapse. A miracle for my soul.
Recovery and all of her moods doesn’t have to always be a clinical journey filled with “cans” and “can’t” do’s. I was filled with uncertainty and confusion with severe memory loss. Thrusted far from the world of being the brightest in the class to the world of endless frustration and forgetting my sister’s names. I needed something to hold at night in my twin bed at rehab. I needed warmth to make it through the darkness of constant fear and confusion. I, without intention, made sobriety a comforting hug because I absolutely had to. My earnest choice to be healthy and back in-control necessitated safety I had never known in this life. I can now rely on myself and my sobriety. Sobriety can either be a prison or a safe and snuggly home for our souls, inviting us to be the healthiest, most wholesome version of ourselves. I have effectively put some of the chaos of my life behind me. I no longer wake up dreading to hear about my out of control emotional responses or gazing in embarrassment at a reposted political article that I drunkenly wrote a very superficial rant about on Facebook.
I don’t attend regular AA meetings. I am not suggesting this is ideal for those considering how many they or a loved one should attend themselves. I got a DUI in 2017, (I was so consumed with guilt and called the cops on myself… don’t do this) and continued to drink until I saw the real possibility of death in May of 2021.
I now write poetry to keep myself from going insane. I have not yet figured out a way to escape the ease I find chaos with. It is my home. I am less anxious after I just got fired, for example. Careless mistakes, lack of conscientiousness, and difficulty with details seem to always follow me around like the angel of professional and scholastic death. Kindness and character are through the roof when I’m not behind the wheel of my car— a dark tale for another time. I just want to be.

The State of American Fashion
Tumblr media
(DISCLAIMER: This article was originally published 1/11/21 on Medium.com, prior to the creation of venustadt.com. As such, my opinions may or may not have altered since the text below was originally written. This article has been re-published here to track my growth as a writer.)
Amid the final days of terrible 2020, there was a row on Twitter about the value of well-known American fashion brand Michael Kors.
“Someone posted a MK purse for Christmas talking about shes spoiled,” Twitter user @Lanazattitude posted Christmas Day. “1st of all MK been played out and thats not being spoiled.”
The lone tweet received around 1,000 replies and over 9,000 quote tweets, sparking a Black Twitter debate about luxury fashion and elitism. But no matter one’s personal opinions on Michael Kors, it is easy to see how quickly people are to undervalue American fashion brands compared to foreign titans like Chanel, Dior, or Balenciaga, to name a few.
The New York fashion scene has never enjoyed the grandeur of its sister fashion hubs London, Milan, or Paris. Many believe that this is due to New York’s lack of large heritage brands. According to former Wall Street Journal fashion and style columnist Christina Binkley, European fashion brands have historical roots in the luxury business due to their origins as artisanal houses. For example, the current French luxury industry owes much to King Louis XIV, who supported French luxury systems until his death in 1715, 61 years before the United States was founded.
This isn’t to say that the U.S. lacks a fashion heritage altogether. Since New York first established itself as a major international fashion force at the 1973 Battle of Versailles fashion show, the American fashion identity has been characterized by its free-spiritedness, prioritizing casual-chic practicality and comfort.
“Americans have a tendency to dress toward the middle,” Deirdre Clemente, fashion historian and curator, told Fashionista’s Maria Bobilo in 2017. “Starting at about the 1930s, dressing like you had money became uncool.”
This American way of “dressing towards the middle” helped make brands like Halston, Donna Karan, and Ralph Lauren influential. This free-spirited attitude can still be seen in American fashion brands today with the rise of athleisure, activewear, and streetwear, which are becoming increasingly popular among international markets. In particular, streetwear has become a powerful force within the industry, as seen with the appointment of Off-White founder Virgil Abloh to artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear in 2018 within the collections of luxury brands like Céline. Brands like Supreme have transformed the way consumers view luxury, reflecting a “bottom-up” trickle of influence in which consumers dictate trends rather than celebrities or traditional fashion industry authorities.
Still, it occasionally feels as if America’s fashion industry is on shaky ground. Even before the pandemic, which forced designers to move shows online or cancel altogether, New York Fashion Week had been labeled a relic that no longer aligned with the way Americans purchased clothing. As fashion trends came and went due to the influence of fast fashion, designers were drained creatively because of the excessive amount of collections produced each year. Foreign buyers and magazine editors often considered skipping New York to avoid the resulting tedious collection from overworked designers.
The ongoing crisis has only made things more uncertain. While stores like Neiman Marcus and J. C. Penney filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May 2020, other brands were forced to contact suppliers to cancel orders, creating financial uncertainty among overseas garment workers. But while specific categories have suffered because of government-mandated lockdowns, others — namely streetwear and athleisure — have only grown stronger. Though the money spent by Americans on clothing has steadily declined since 2018, online sales of leggings, hoodies, and sweatpants have boomed since March, according to Quartz.
Like any other industry, American fashion exists in a constant flux state due to internal and external forces. As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, the fashion industry must brace itself for more inevitable changes and perhaps some much-needed evolution. Perhaps Business of Fashion’s Lauren Sherman said it best in 2019:
“…let’s stop pushing an outmoded model of what an American fashion model should look like and embrace the entrepreneurial, outside spirit at the heart of Americanness, inspiring a new generation to shake things up.”
