So like very urgently does anyone know the best ways to keep spiders out of your house

Me: *amused* You know drop bears are a real thing and Bandit hadn't just made it up to mess with the kids in that one episode

Husband: I- uh what?

Me: *amused* Also how do you intend to handle spider season? I have seen pictures it just looks like fog-

Husband: Uh... So you like Ireland, right? What are their gun policies?

Me: I don't know but the roads are actually perfect for or motorcycles since most were built horses

I love him so much he's such a dork

He was willing to give up guns to move somewhere he couldn't have guns because of a cartoon (he's in the army so he likes his guns) 🤣

Gentle reminder this spooder season not to kill the little men who come wandering into your home.

They’re just like you, socially anxious and horny, creeping around at night looking for a snack.

Nah but fr, if you want to keep them out of your room, here are the humane ways to do it that have worked for me:

- Spray peppermint oil / citrus oil on any dark corners of your room, cracks in walls, ceilings, floors, doors and windows (all entry points basically)

- Keep your windows shut tightly during the night.

- Eliminate flies indoors yourself and (if possible) feed the spiders outside, so they won’t come indoors looking for food if they’ve already been fed.

- Burn incense every night.

- Use a spider repellent frequency video (link below, also the titles are incredible, my favourite one is definitely ‘spider bad boy’. Sobbing.)

- if you’re struggling to keep them out, invest in a mosquito-net style bed canopy: secure it to your ceiling, and tuck the curtains in around your mattress so that even if they climb up from the floor or fall off the ceiling, they won’t land on your bed.

Fun Florida fact for those who didn't know

Spooky season in Florida is indeed. Rather spooky. As it's also spider season!!

Specifically if anyone wants to experience this, I know a place that ends up looooaded with spiders. Late September thru October. A lot of places you go hiking, everywhere you look is covered in huge spiders. Golden silk orb weavers for example, as big as your hand. Red femured orb weavers, boy can they get chunky.

So, in the Lakeland area there is a nature preserve called "Circle B Bar Reserve". This is where I've seen the most spiders gathered in an area during spider season.

Also HUGE note and warning about Circle B: if you're someone who messes with the wildlife or plants, gets a little too close to things or if you catch bugs for better pictures. DON'T. Not at Circle B at least. I've been informed and shown the evidence that this preserve does, in fact, hire photographers to essentially stalk hikers and take pictures of them if they see you messing with the wild life or environment in anyway. And you will get banned from the park swiftly if caught. Just figured I oughta add that in.
