Eye Opener - Powder
Tumblr media
This powder is more of a persuasion powder I made. It can be used for the self or within spellwork. Carry it with you to help you open your eyes to certain situations and see through deception. Use within spellwork to make someone open their eyes to toxic situations and with the added ingredients a boost to help heal from the situation.
Some of these ingredients have traditional meanings like Rosemary and others are my UPG of what felt right to use. You may swap out what feels more right for you but this is a basic recipe.
Items
Rosemary - Mental clarity and growth
Peppermint - Awareness
Sage - Opening eyes, wisdom
Dill - Mental clarity
Garlic - Inner strength
Oregano- Healing
Lemon peel - Mental clarity
Thyme - Healing
Mortar and pestle
(Alternative) Small electric grinder
Jar to keep powder in
Instructions
Cleanse items
Speak your intentions into the herbs and direct them to what their job will be
Grind them together
You have the option here to say whatever blessing or chant you’d like to use while you are grinding the herbs to add extra oomph
Place items in chosen cleansed and clean container
Ta da you are finished! You may place this on your altar with a lit white candle to help give it more power or place it on a deity altar to help bless it.
Now the fun part about powders is you can wear them like a body powder, use them in candle spells, sprinkle in your room (be weary when you live with pets) and use them in baths.

I'm actually still brainstorming on a feeding powder to sprinkle over the top. Flour as a base, for sustenance. Chili powder and coffee to energize. Sugar and perhaps cocoa to sweeten and bring it a comfort. Still a work in progress, though
To prepare a feeding oil for spells, for the purpose of charging spell vessels without direct energy work
In my strain of witchcraft, feeding of any spell (such as amulets or wards) is best done by applying a charmed physical substance, such as oil or incense. To use direct energy work is a stopgap solution not suitable for normal upkeep. To imagine the spell refilled with energy, without active energy work, is never a suitable solution.
Feeding of spells can be made from a chore into a breeze (*1950s commercial transition*) with the use of a small quantity of pre-charmed oil, such as olive oil, or any shelf-stable cooking oil (not E.O.). The most basic of these formulas is only a fat or oil with no other ingredients added.
Charming about an ounce or 30ml of oil will last months or more, even if you use it often.
The preparation is best performed on a Monday or full moon, or from the turning from midnight to the new day. Re-enchant the oil as often as desired, especially if it couldn't be initially enchanted under ideal conditions.
Put the entire quantity of oil you want to use in a clean, sealable container. Take the oil to a place free-flowing with magical power, such as under the full moon, in the presence of your allied gods, or within a cast circle teeming with elemental power.
Enter magical headspace through trance or any technique you prefer.
Using a clean stirring stick, or with a very clean finger, stir the oil clockwise while petitioning the powers in your presence. Call to the full moon, gods, elementals, and so forth, and ask them to bless the oil for the purpose of feeding, so that when spells consume it, the spell is revitalized and made fat with power. Speak plainly or plan a rhyme ahead of time. Work over the oil with constant stirring for several minutes, or until every petition is made, or until you have said everything that needs to be said.
When intuition advises, or when there's nothing left to be done, perform a sealing charm ("so mote it be" or variants) over the oil.
Thank all present powers and, if your tradition recommends it, provide payment as necessary.
If any energy is left raised, ground all of it into the oil.
Seal and set aside. Close the ritual as you normally do.
To feed a spell as you are casting it, or after it has been cast, dab a bit of the oil onto a tissue or Q-tip and wipe it on the spell vessel. Avoid sticking fingers into the jar as bacteria helps oils go rancid.
Re-enchant the oil in the same method as often as you like. To top off the oil, add more oil and re-enchant.

Two Banishing Powders from a Southern Folk Witch
Tumblr media
In Southern folk magic, the formula used for a banishing spell varies a little bit based on whether you want to banish an actual person (basically getting them to leave you alone) or a spirit/energy/abstract concept.
Banishing formulas for getting rid of living people tend to focus on causing irritation and discomfort to get someone to leave, which may be less effective if they don't have a physical body. Banishing formulas for spirits/energy are more about deep cleansing and making the space inhospitable for undesirable spirits. The herbs and minerals a practitioner might reach for are different in these two situations.
Below are two all-purpose banishing formulas from my practice: one for living people, and one for spirits.
GTFO Powder
For getting rid of unwanted (living) people.
You will need:
The spiciest red pepper flakes/powder you can find (If you like spicy food, use something so hot you can't eat it in large amounts. I like spice and I use Szechuan pepper flakes, but cayenne will work, especially if you know the person you want to banish doesn't like any spice at all in their food. Discomfort is the goal here.)
Black pepper (Used here to cause mild inconvenience/discomfort/bad luck)
Salt (Good, old fashioned banishing)
(Optional) dried, crumbled wasps nest*
(Optional) dirt from the side of a busy road or highway**
*This is actually much easier to find than you'd think, but be careful not to get stung! This is a traditional ingredient in Southern folk magic because wasps are known for how viciously they protect their homes. Fair warning: this is a mean ingredient (since its purpose is to cause pain/discomfort), so I'll leave it up to you whether to include it or not. If you're dealing with a stalking or abuse situation, wasps nest can give you the extra oomph you need to help keep the abuser from returning.
**Only include this if you're trying to make someone physically leave your space or relocate to a different geographical area. And PLEASE be careful collecting this dirt! My advice is to try to collect it during a less busy time of day and to stay several feet away from the actual road.
How to Use It:
When you mix up this powder, speak over it and state your intention. You can enchant this powder for all-purpose banishing, or you could mix up a batch to banish a specific person. Either way, it is important that you tell the powder what it is meant to do. I like to speak directly to the spirits in the powder and ask them for their help.
Traditionally, you would use this powder by sprinkling some in your target's shoes, but that isn't always possible. You can use it in poppet spells by adding it to the feet of the poppet for the same effect. You can also use it to dress candles, add it to jar spells, or incorporate it into other types of banishing spells. Warning: do not burn this powder, as it can cause irritation or injuries to the lungs.
If you need to get rid of a specific person, you'll want to customize the powder to only work on them. The easiest way to do this is with a taglock (an item that has a physical connection to the target). Some of their hair would be ideal, but you can also use a photo of them or even a piece of paper with their name and address written on it, like you were addressing a letter. You'll want to burn the taglock to ash, then mix this ash into the powder. Make sure you burn it outside, because the smoke will be unpleasant.
You can use this powder to keep someone away from your home or another building by sprinkling a line of it across all entrances to the building. If you do this, make sure you've customized the powder for that person with the method above -- otherwise you may accidentally banish ALL visitors.
Ghost-Be-Gone Powder
For getting rid of unwanted spirits or psychic energy. Can also be used to banish non-physical things, like an illness or a bad habit.
You will need:
Asafoetida*
Salt (Again, used here for good, old fashioned banishing)
Garlic (You know how garlic is supposed to repel vampires? That's basically what it's doing here.)
Rosemary (Used for cleansing and banishing)
(Optional) dirt from a church, temple, or other place of worship**
*Honestly, I've used asafoetida by itself for banishing and gotten really good results. This is definitely the Big Daddy of cleansing herbs in Southern folk magic. You can usually find this in international grocery stores or get it online for fairly cheap, and it's one of the few herbs I think are worth going out of your way to get. Warning: a lot of people complain about the smell of asafoetida, but it honestly just smells like a stronger, more pungent garlic to me so your mileage may vary.
**While dirt from a church is traditional, use something tied to a religion YOU believe in. If you aren't Christian, don't use church dirt. For myself, I might use dirt from the Wiccan temple near my home or from another pagan holy site. The point here is to call on your personal spiritual allies for help. If you are an atheist or agnostic, just leave the dirt out entirely.
How to Use It:
When you mix up this powder, speak over it and state your intention. You can enchant this powder for all-purpose banishing, or you could mix up a batch to banish a specific spirit. Either way, it is important that you tell the powder what it is meant to do. I like to speak directly to the spirits in the powder and ask them for their help.
To use this powder to remove a spirit from your home, use it to clean your floors. You can sprinkle it on the floor, let it sit for a few minutes, and then sweep or vacuum it up.
I don't recommend burning this powder as incense, but you can use it in spells. You can place a ring of it around the base of a black candle or add some to a jar spell, for example. You can also use this to cast a circle around your spellwork if you want to protect it from interference in the spiritual realm.
A Note on Cultural Appropriation
Every time I post some of the more folksy parts of my practice online, I get asked whether it's okay for others to use these spells. Specifically, people want to know if these spells come from a closed tradition or if they have to live in the South to use them.
The folk magic tradition I practice is not tied to any closed cultural practice. I will never post anything from a closed practice online. So yes, you can use these powders no matter who you are or where you are from. You don't have to live in the South or be from the South to practice Southern folk magic, but you will get more out of your practice if you have a connection to the region.
On a related note: some of y'all may have noticed that these powders are similar to formulas used in Hoodoo. The GTFO Powder specifically is very similar to Hotfoot Powder, which is used for a similar purpose in Hoodoo. Hoodoo is a semi-closed African-American tradition that is typically passed down in families or communities. When I post about my practice, I do occasionally get comments accusing me of appropriating from Hoodoo.
Here's the thing: my practice does have some overlap with Hoodoo, because I am in the same geographical region and part of the same regional culture that Hoodoo comes from. Over hundreds of years, ideas get exchanged across racial and cultural lines. Just like some elements of Hoodoo come from European traditions, some elements of white folk magic in the South come from African roots. It's not appropriation -- it's a natural result of living in multicultural communities.
All of this is just to say, what I do is not Hoodoo, but I think of my tradition and Hoodoo as cousins. There's some shared DNA, but also a lot of differences. How I do things might look similar to how a Hoodoo practitioner does them, but the theory or exact ritual process may be different.

Can we talk about how in season one when they were children Vi and Powder fight and FLEE the enforcers in the abandoned arcade they've taken over and Vi is deliberately looking after Powder because she's got the hexstones and that would pin it on Powder, on them, and they flee through the back. And then in season 2 in the EXACT same place that they had fled and fought together Vi comes in AS AN ENFORCER to kill Jinx, and AGAIN Jinx flees out to the back from them, and again because Jinx is the one they are looking for, like the first time when she had the hexstones. Like. Fuck. Fuckkkk FUCKKK the parallels, the implications. Fuck, Vi taking up that uniform, becoming that she hated/feared in her youth that she had fought and fled for powder, for her family for herself.

AITAH FOR GHOSTING MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR THREE YEARS, FOR MY OWN MENTAL HEALTH?
Posted 7th of January, 2024
Disclaimer: mentions of self-harm, violence, and attempted suicide.
Please bear with me. This post will be long.
I (20f) have been estranged from my family for the past three years.
I want to start off by saying that my family aren't bad people. They were never abusive, and they did care for me, but they could never understand me or the full extent of my issues.
Some background. When I was around five, my sister (26f), we'll call her V, and I witnessed our parents' death at the hands of some trigger-happy Enforcers. We don't know why they decided our parents deserved to die, but they did, and we were left orphaned when the authorities couldn't find any other family to take us in.
We bounced around in the system for a while, fearing being torn from each other at any moment, before a family friend was able to foster and then officially adopt us. Our AD (adoptive dad) was a godsend, he was and still (to my knowledge) is the most patient and gentle man I know. Despite looking like a wolf LOL.
Along with gaining a new father we also gained two brothers (twin 23m) the older twin (C) takes after our dad, Kind and patient. The younger twin (M) however is a little nasty bitch, who took upon himself to make my life in particular an ongoing hell. He was never physically abusive, but he was verbally abusive. It felt like not a day would go by when he wasn't putting me down and treating my existence like it was something insignificant. He never had a problem with V, just me.
For the first six years everyone else would defend me, put him in his place, and overall hold him accountable but at some point, they stopped holding him accountable and just expected me to grow a thicker skin. I still remember the day when I went crying to my sister and rather than comfort me, just rolled her eyes and asked if I could maybe not take him seriously because she needed to finish her group project. To her credit, she apologised for that but it was hard to rely on her after that.
Long story short, M made my home life unbearable, and I had bullies at school that made it unbearable. Especially once I was in high school and my best (and only) friend started making friends of his own. I want to say that I was cool with this, but in reality, I turned into an absolute brat and refused to get along with any of them. I wish I didn't, but I just couldn't help but feel betrayed and genuinely acted on those emotions.
And this is how I was with everyone. Constantly betrayed and acting out. It was no wonder everyone I knew got sick of me.
My Dad was constantly worrying about me.
My older brother avoided me as much as possible, to avoid my outbursts.
My sister was just constantly swinging between feeling guilty, angry, and just done with my constant outbursts. Especially when these outbursts were directed at her girlfriend, who constantly talked about how she wanted to be an Enforcer to protect others (take a wild guess why I couldn't like her). V even slapped me for something I said (I can't remember what) to her GF that made her cry.
And my best friend... hates me.
It's my own fault, obviously.
What led to the title of my post is this.
I told my (former) best friend that I loved him and wanted to be with him, and he just raged at me. Apparently, he was seeing someone and thought that I was pulling something in order to break them up. He didn't believe me when I said that I didn't know he was in a relationship (I genuinely didn't know) but he wouldn't hear it and called me an AH and said he was done with me.
I felt humiliated and heartbroken, when I got home that day I was crying and M was the first person, unfortunately, who I came across. And the first thing he does is scoff and roll his eyes, and said "fucking crybaby".
I don't fully remember what happened, I blacked out, but I remember my dad pulling me off of M and his face was a bloody mess. I'm pretty sure that I broke his nose and then some, my dad was so angry. The angriest I've ever seen him; he actually shook me by the shoulders and demanded what was wrong with me. And when I couldn't answer, they told me to get out. Which I did.
I just bolted from the house, the sound of shouting behind me, and just kept running until I got to the Bridge of Progress.
I was just so empty and lost, and the water below looked so tempting. I was about to end it all when my guardian angel showed up.
Ez (21m) was walking by when he saw me about to jump and, without hesitation, climbed up next to me and asked what we were doing.
He saved me that day, without even trying. He listened to my whining and rather than offer me empty promises of "it'll be okay" instead said "girl you messed up. Wanna go on an adventure with me?"
We've been friends ever since.
I took him on his offer and went home to collect some things, when I got there the lights were off so I climbed up to my bedroom window and let myself in. I grabbed my clothes, some saved up cash, my laptop, and my documents (in case I needed them) and left a note for my family saying "bye".
And that was three years ago. I haven't been in contact with them, I don't follow them on social media, and I left my mobile behind so they were never able to get hold of me.
I completely and utterly. Ghosted them. And I don't entirely regret it.
In the last three years I have gained close friends, experienced new things, seen interesting things, and have felt well enough to actually want to seek therapy. My mental health improved greatly, although I still have issues but still am lot better than I was before.
However, I can't help but feel like an AH. My family weren't bad, just fed up. They are genuinely good people (even M) it's just that I bring the worst out in people. But recently I've been wondering if I should reach out or not.
What if doing so disrupts their lives? What if my leaving improved their lives?
I don't know.
AITAH if I reach out to my family after ghosting them for three years?
(This is a fanfic. Please read tags)

Also I haven't the Jayvik and timbomb parallels talked about either soooo
Both of them were Hemmerdinger's (idk how to spell that) pupils, he almost got to redeem himself with timebomb after he failed his first pupil, to support and help them rather than shutting down their dreams accidentally pushing them along a destructive path. I could talk all day about how old fluffy man failed the people around him but that's besides the point.
Both of them having a sort of "in another life I would have loved to do laundry with you" vibe.
Also being linked in every universe they are in (a stretch for timebomb but let have this)
And they were lab mates 🤭

💕 Spellworks: Various sex magic spells
Tumblr media
It's a lovely Friday! and I planned some sex magic, so here's what I did, including a few spells.
As always, this is an 18+ post, and generally I do not want minors interacting with posts like these.
TIME
Friday is the day of Venus (you may also remember it being the day of Aphrodite or Freya). This means that love and sex spells are especially powerful. I also casted on a waxing moon, as I wanted to build up passion and vigor. Though, sex magic also benefits from full moons and new moons.
TOOLS
I was performing a bunch of small little spells and ingredients to empower my bedroom with lust.
Cayenne pepper, cinnamon, mint, lavender, thyme, water, ginger, sugar, bay leaves, rose petals, flour, vanilla powder, yarrow, love oil.
morter and pestle, lighter, myrrh incense, fire proof dishes, small dishes, priapic wand, swan feather, small mirror, red candle, rose quartz, pen, sigil, cloth, adult toys.
SPELLS
Using my priapic wand, I cleansed and waved the wand around each corner, door, and bed to cleanse. Afterwards I lit some myrrh incense and wafted it around with the swan feather, letting the myrrh burn and fill up the room, I lit a new one when one was almost done. I continued wafting the swan feather around em as well to cleanse myself. - To make sure the space was cleansed and ready for sex magic, priapic wand is especially powerful for this.
I cleaned my tools with the myrrh incense. - Myrrh is considered one of the most erotic fragrances, it makes a woman burn with passion.
I poured thyme in a dish and poured boiling water over it, letting it steep and strained it. After cooling, I used the thyme water and washed myself. Thyme is a magnetic botanical of lust and love. - Thyme is derived from Helen of Troy's tears. Bathing yourself in her tears makes you a magnet to love, careful with how much as Helen was kidnapped twice.
I chewed and ate some mint. - people chew mint gum before a first date to freshen their breath, but it also helps with memory and sweet talking.
I anointed my doors with love oil. - To strengthen my bedroom.
I grinded* some thyme, rose petals, flour, cinnamon**, vanilla powder, and yarrow to make a love powder, this was sprinkled at the head of the bed, the corners, and underneath it. I sprinkled some by the doors as well, and a tiny bit on the sheets. - to invoke love and sex into my bed and bedroom.
I grinded lavender and thyme and sprinkled it in a fire proof dish, along with the love powder. I dressed a red candle with love oil and set it ablaze. Placing a rose quartz in the dish. I wrote my fiancés name on a bay leaf and set it on fire, letting the candle burn fully down. - This was to inspire passion and lust in my woman at home.
I mixed 2 parts cayenne pepper, 1 part sugar, and 1/2 part ginger, and 1/2 part cinnamon, and 1 part love oil. I anointed this mixture under the bed. To inspire good sex. Cayenne for more nasty and rough, sugar for more intimate and sweet. - To gain a good and specific kind of sex life, specifically on the bed.
Underneath my mattress, by the foot end, I have a red bag tied with red ribbon filled with rose petals and lavender, this make sure I have a good sex life, I cleansed it with smoke and charged it again.
I cleansed the small mirror and anointed with love powered and oil, Avoiding looking into it, I'm planning to capture a specific essence into this mirror, as in sex and lust, and my woman, using the mirror as a talisman to draw her to me. I have yet to complete this as it needs some days and charging it and exposing it to images for 8 days.
(*For sex magic, I do everything counter clockwise and near my genitals. This is to invoke deviancy, passion, and vigor. While clockwise would be the "vanilla sex" or reduce sexual drive.)
(**Cinnamon can be irritative on the skin, so I used cinnamon here sparingly.)
EXTRA
I never force my woman. She knows I do this spells on her, and even so, she doesn't mind if I did them in secret either. Funnily enough, she entered the bedroom as the candle was nearing the end and demanded we had fun. So we did, and I got to charge my sigil of lust with sexual fluids. Of course I forgot to make sure the mirror faced the bed to capture the moment. But overall, because of this interaction, which I did not ask her help for, I can say for certain that my sex spells worked wonderfully.
I also wanted to note that I always have rose petals by my window sill, and I made the sigil and constantly charge it every so often to make sure we have a good sex life. I also fed my woman some fruits earlier which included strawberries, figs, chocolate, and grapes, in a pink mug.
I have been performing glamour magic as well, which made me feel more fantastic as I performed these spells. It also helped being in the mindset and passionately invoked when doing these spells.
Anyways, hope you enjoyed reading my blog post and gained some sex magic inspiration. I've been wanting to post some spells but didn't know how, so I thought a little blog-like post would be fun.
Excuse grammar errors and spelling mistakes, English is not my first language.

Ghost-Be-Gone Powder
Tumblr media
Intent: To banishing interloping spirits.
Ingredients:
2 pt Angelica Root
2 pt Basil (any type)
1 pt White Oak Bark
1 pt White Willow Bark
1⁄2 pt Bloodroot**
1⁄2 pt Black Salt
1⁄2 pt Sandalwood (if desired)
Note: Powdered versions of most herbs are available online. I recommend Starwest Botanicals and Penn Herbs for quality products at reasonable prices. Also, if you can get your hands on a good electric spice grinder, you can make your own powder from dried herb products.
If you don't have premade powdered herbs, grind each ingredient separately to produce fine powder. Sieve the material through a mesh strainer into a collection dish; this removes the larger unground pieces and gives you cleaner powdered herb. (Pro-Tip: Putting a funnel under the mesh strainer reduces lost material and makes collection much easier.)
Combine the component powders in the collection dish, mix well, and bottle immediately. Label with the name, date, and ingredients for future reference.
Use in magics intended to remove troublesome spirits from your home. Sprinkle in the corners of each room, and across thresholds and windowsills to banish unwanted spirits and prevent their return.
Cast a few pinches of Ghost-Be-Gone Powder out your front door or on your doorstep after performing a home cleansing or banishing ritual to help keep your home free of uninvited spirits. Keep a bottle of the powder in troublesome areas to help reduce problems with mild to moderate hauntings and make any spirits who wander in easier to remove. Including the powder in regular cleansing rituals also helps to keep out all but the most determined metaphysical pests.
Add a small amount of Sandalwood or your preferred incense powder to create a burnable mix for smoke-cleansing purposes. Be sure to ventilate your home well after censing as part of a spell or ritual. (Censing or heavy smoke-cleansing are not recommended for homes with pets, small children, or persons with respiratory ailments. Always let caution and common sense prevail when planning your workings.)

Hot Foot Powder Vs Hot Foot Incense.
Tumblr media
Hotfoot powder is used for people you don't like having bad neighbors, coworkers etc. Someone who is just a bully and something has to be done about it.
Now it is a Hex so I would say be careful with it because some people are like "I want this or that to happen to this person but I don't want them to get hurt". But that can happen. You may use it and get a person to leave and not knowing that they just got there dream job or a raise and now they just quit and moved away.
So think about how it affects them.
Sometimes they may not evet move they may just not come over anymore or not walk in your side of the street or not speak to you etc.
SO HOW TO USE IT: You just sprinkle it in someones path and when they walk over it it makes them want to leave. You can also use it in a door handle too.
HOW FOOT INCENSE: This is also something you have to be careful using. The incense is used when you don't have access to the actual person to sprinkle a Hot foot powder in their path.
What you do is take a picture of that person, light the incense and pass the picture back and forth through the incense smoke. Another way is you can write their name on paper and pass that paper a few times through the incense smoke.
That's the difference between the two.
