Guys I had dance class today and I had to re-tie my shoe and then one of the people in my group who I talk to relatively regularly in class, just went up to me and gave me headpats, I awkwardly said „thanks?“ and she just started comparing/calling me a dog (rather a lap dog even though I’m not one)… they’re figuring me out help me guys is my human disguise not good enough (buuuuut at the same time, yippeeeee species affirmed)

some things i find species affirming/euphoric:

beanie cat hat

arm warmers

walking through forests and feeling a little lost sometimes

playing in sand or in puddles or even in streams/rivers

shark tooth necklace

climbing to the top of trees or climbing things in general

jumping down from high places

rolling down hills

collecting rocks/feathers/seashells/animal skulls/bones/skeletons

trying to take care of insects as pets

As someone who's transmasc nonbinary, getting bottom surgery just isn't really something that appeals to me. Not sure why, I certainly have other forms of gender dysphoria, but Ive simply never felt discontent with what I was born with down there and currently have no plans to modify things.

However.

If it was possible for me to have a sheath I would POUNCE on that opportunity so fast omfg.

before i delve into my piercing ideas, think about what style of jewelry would communicate your species. shiny jewels? simplistic titanium? wood or bone? reminder as well that piercings are anatomy dependent. i recommend seeking the advice and services of a licensed, experienced piercer.

this is just off the top of my head of course, feel free to add on!

stretched lobes- heftier jewelry like glass plugs/tunnels or ear weights simulates floppy ears or neck fluff when your head is shaken from side to side.

nostrils- there are so many options here. spiked ends for reptiles/dragons. and even placement options! (ex: high nostril, standard nostril, forward facing nostril). larger ends that take up more space on the nostril have helped me cope with my lack of animal nose as it “bulks” it up a little.

septum- besides the obvious cow comparison, there are tons of options here. like the spike example with nostril piercings, pinchers give some spike.

lips- the world is literally your fucking oyster here. go hog wild. paired vertical upper lip piercings are literally fangs. consider: you are an insect with upper and lower lip piercings. or a robot.

genitals- if you suffer from gender related dysphoria this may be of interest to you as well. for example, gauged labia piercings can simulate the feeling of testicles. depending on the piercing, genital piercings change the function of the organ. (a trans femme experience will be linked!

ear cartilage- lots of options again. example: are you an elf or fae? get a helix piercing with a spiked end.

Hey, any idea what species affirming things one can do as a physically disabled therian?

I love doing quads, I used to be really good at it, but that's completely out of question rn. Even nature walks.

I used to draw my theriotype, but because of wrist pain I can't hold a pen, plus my tablet is broken rn.

I only came up with practicing vocals, eating meat and maybe watching wolf videos?

Is there anything else? I'm confined to my room with almost no energy (can't do most chores or self-care) and I'm honestly getting bored out of my wits 😅

Wishful thinking time but I always wished I had a close nonhuman friend with which I could do body painting with. I just feel like an afternoon deeply focused on replicating feather, scale or fur patterns in bodypaint and having it done on me would fix me.

drinking ice water in the middle of the night when i wake up randomly

staring at the moon and looking for constellations in the night sky

piling up sticks and twigs

being too close to fire pits so that the waves of heat make me feel like i’m scorching but it’s still safe for me

running up stairs on all fours

buying new plants

calling my boyfriend “my mate”

digging in the dirt for bugs

stomping on ant hills (i always feel guilty afterwards though 😔)

catching fireflies and keeping them in jars

taking care of injured insects and the like
